Paula, I too saw something land higher in the tree, as the camera shook, and Belle was screeching. THis was before the moisture feeding that Belle just gave chick.
If Robyn didn't see Lib around, maybe he flew off with Trudy Hussey. He could always turn around and return to the nest if he felt a safe distance away?
Awesome! Oh boy,if we were not so far behind on doing things that need done around the place here after being laid up for so long, I'd bet Steve and I would trek over there too.
Lynn, are you doing ok? I am glad you had a warm goodbye. with so much else going on with the nest and all dopn't forget to take some time for yourself. No outward reason. A necropsy will be done to determine what happened.
Knut, the polar bear in Germany, died today. Only four years old.

I haven't had a chance to say welcome to the newcomers. Welcome. I think we are seeing history in the making. Well I think we are seeing just that and they are going to have to change history of what they first knew.
New Christmas tree planted on the ellipse!!!! 26 ft. from NJ!!! Hope it roots well....and lasts as long as the old one (33 yrs.).
Did you hear about the famous German zoo polar bear Knut dying suddenly in his pool?? Too bad. Only about 4 yrs. old. He was a real phenom....abandoned by his mom....his presence at the zoo doubled their attendance figures. Will be anxious to see necropsy report.
Hi Susan and Grey ( : It was great meeting you two and hope you come for Open House in October and the Big Dinner we have afterwards. Yes that would probably mean you'll have to stay over.
Sorry you had to make the report about Knut's the 4 yr old polar bears passing.
I heard that little scratchy noise, too, like when something lands near mic, when Belle was screeching before she got up to tend to POJ. I was afraid it might be Trudy, but don't think Belle would uncover nest bowl then.
- I agree. Most of the time there are fish everywhere and they don't have the need to go to such drastic actions. That is one of the fantastic benefits of cams like this, because we never know everything and new findings come forth every day.
I agree with your comment Dana. I thought since yeaterday that Belle was doing this.
Biologists are not watching at all times. As our biologist told Peter and I . we have probably seen more in the last couple of years at our falcon sites, from our close observations ,than any biologist.
so I think we are seeing what nature does when it is backed in a corner.
I spent about 2 hours this morningon search engines trying to find out if anyone had ever made and recordings of Eagles or any raptors regurgitating their food. Of ocurse I came up with nada. BUT i was so holding onto hope that in certain situations etc perhpas it oculd happen. I fit empties into stomach from crop then that may not be what we are seeing but perhpas she had food in her beak she was softening etc as she brooded pJ and it was finally ready to feed. Or maybe the other egg is broken and she is feeding yoc sak from it. Or even perhaps there is dried yoc sak from PJ's hatch that she has moistened in her beak and she is feeding that,
Hint never suggest to us on this BLOG that Belle is not a super MOM. It jut won't fly.
With Belle's back to the camera, it appears she is giving a moisture feeding to chick again. If so, this is exactly what I saw late yesterday and made the comment "what is Belle doing?"
I saw that story in the post Lynn, thanks. I don't have fruit trees and I won't use anything for stink bugs that isn't organic. We are working on our own plan of attack here, cause we haven't seen any advice for us yet from the gov that we can apply to our gardens.
Here's for a scientist ????If eagles don't regurgitate, does that mean contents in their stomach???? What about bringing up something from crop???? Perhaps when Belle was away, she did pick up something. However, what she was doing w/POJ appeared to be liquid. Who could we ask---Randy or Steve?
Hedgie-Lynn I'm not going tomorrow. Mom was upset some that I haven't been in to take her out. So I have to do that tomorrow. Sometimes I think she just gets so lonely. Like when Wanda and them don't go in. Which is not very often. Seems like it only takes once or twice for older parents to feel alone.
Right, that works Paula and yes would be non toxic. As these bugs aren't native it's a challenge to figure out how to eliminate them, but I'm not going to spray toxins to try to defeat them, we will try it more naturally here and see what happens, with organic methods and native predators that may learn to eat these bugs.
My husband and I might just drive out there tomorrow. It is a little over 2 hours from where we live. I think it would be neat to tell my students that I got to see their eagles!
Some birds do produce something called "crop milk" to then feed to the babies. But eagles are, supposedly, not a bird that can do this. And the food in the crop doesn't come back to the mouth to be swallowed into the stomach, as the crop empties directly into the stomach.
This is a most interesting phenom going on here....
Found an eagle info site & as someone said earlier, I think, the crop will store indigestible things, like scales, fur, etc. It can then reguritate these wastes from the crop in a mass.Does not really say food is never in crop. DUH
Playing catch-up again!!! Ate dinner, did talk to youngest, finally reading papers.
Suzan.....I need an OBX fix!!! I could stop and visit Mai passing thru' Norfolk coming and going! I'm making it through....thanks for asking.....thanks to ALL of the support I get here!
Robyn, thanks so much for your reports this afternoon. Paula, so excited you are going tomorrow. I know that if I lived closer I would be sitting out there with my binoculars!!!! Paula, you do have fish ready to take, right?☺
Once again, welcome to the newbies! Jennifer, I do hope you can go to the nest as well. It is really exciting to see these eagles in person.
Belle, just called out and is watching something. Wish Lib would come flying in with a big ol fish!
Eagles produce saliva when they are eating. I read that earlier. I wonder if they can produce it when they are NOT eating and that is what we are seeing. Maybe she is keeping the baby hydrated with her saliva?
My thought Lynne2 and if its not clear then just maybe it does have some food bits in it form inside her beak. Might not be much but it could be enough to get by a bit longer.
yeah Glo, that is what I said earlier...maybe she has found some carrion somewhere to "grab and go" while unable to fish or hunt, and that she is leaving little pieces in her mouth for Joy
Makes sense to me Lynne I haven't watched the video BUT since so many are sure they saw fluid and osmeone I think said it was brown then it was more than just saliva.
Scott, did you see where Paula will be there early in the morning, too. How about you bring back a fantastic picture of Lib flying into the nest with a big ol fish.
Gene and I just got back from NCYC...Guards house. Belle was still in the nest and Hussy Trudy is up high in the tree. She is a very large bird! We stayed there about an hour and saw a lot of blackbirds, but no Liberty, anywhere. Looked everywhere. Gene took random photos all over the area, hoping to pick up something that we couldn't see for looking. He is cropping the photos right now in order to get the best shots on here. Photos soon to follow.
I have been watching for so long since this morning. I keep getting up and walking around by the laptop. So I don't stick to the chair or get kinks in neck and back.
YES Lolly actually 2 folks got that info to me. It sure lightened a day I could hardly get through. We still have our pair. Thank God!!! They are having one heck of a time and well PJ is off to quite a different start than we are used to. It is probably the main reason when after doing all that reading and never getting a message from anyone about any food I started to read about raptors and any record of regurgitatin or whatever. I remain very concerned for PJ. But I will take drops of whatever right now. Its something indeed :-)
Thanks Lolly. :-)
If anyone knows any info that might bring relief then yes I want to know and I will also share wherever I think it needs to go too. This pair is loved around the world.
Wanda that is what that LARGE FEMALE INMATURE EAGLE DOES. Sits up there in top that tree. If she would see Liberty she flys towards him and he leads her off. I just can't figure why Belle doesn't catch something when they are gone a long time. Then again she won't know which times are the long times.
oh no, not what I wanted to hear. Well, Belle still seems pretty calm anyway. I'm sure Lib is there. Randy didn't see him the other day, but Dana did yesterday. So the wait continues.
I'm thinking that maybe we should just ride to NCTC tomorrow. I can't really do much physical stuff at the moment that needs doing around here....and nothing that can't wait.
Scott, good that you are meeting up with Paula and Lori!
Anyone notice the ropey-looking thing in front of Belle.....WOnder what that is? Has it been there??? Maybe it just shows up different depending on the light...it's shaped like a crescent.
Yes Thanks I have been reading it. Still haven;t turned on any cams. I just need to wait a bit. I saw him/her the first day beak with Belle, so I have seen her but have't gone anymore to cams. I can't listen to Belle cry and you all know how I have always been about hunger. I do NOT handle it well, not well at all. But thanks dana and Thanks more than you know for going to the nest yesterday. I htikn I obth ate a real meal and slept a real sleep becuase of theinfo you shared with Megan and then to the Blog from your visit to the nest. :-) Seriously
Reese Lukei was just answering questions on the NBG site. I asked if it was possible if the adults could feed their young out of their crop, and all he said was that they were not known to do that, not that they couldn't....
I think she the intruder sits up there waiting to see Liberty. I think that is why she follows Belle also. To try to get to Liberty. If she can get him as hers and the nest. She will think she has conquered the whole mating and nesting thing.
Belle was making little distress noises, then her hackles got up on alert, then Turdy Hussy landed on Belle, not the nest. Belle managed to get her off of her and nest. Chick is chirping now.
Anyway as I was saying. There was a whole section on the nose/nares/nostrils. My memory is so foggy, I can't even remember what city we saw it in. But, our grandchildren were with us. It went on to say that there were cultures that would allow a baby to nurse the nose and that what came out was very high in protein. NOW all together ... ewwwww
OK, been doing some reading hear and there. Much of what I am reading is saying that the female controls the breeding territory. And that BOTH adults will run intruders out. So I still have to wonder....we just saw Belle kick her out, so why does she not keep trying to run her off altogether?
Intruder just landed on the far side of the nest again. Now Belle is 'feeding' the chick something again! Dana ... can't you leave a few fish out there somewhere! :)
Well the good news is PJ has been given a few drops of something from somewhere by Belle, and as of Yesterday Lib was seen and was alive and well. Overall the day has been calmer but sounds like intruder has not given up. Darn darn darn!!!
I am calling it a day here but I am sure at some point tomorrow I will be back to catch up on happenings and info from nest visit. I am fising Annuversary Dinner for my neighbors tomorrow after church whic will keep my mind occupied in the morning. Thats a good thing actually.
I will focus on the positives today and there are some good ones. Nite all.
What a wonderful evening we had w the momsters Friday night. G and I are enjoying Sheptown at it's best and started w an incredible breakfat at Bettys. Wld highly reconmmend. Our anniversary wkend had been great including some much needed nest observation.
I must agree w several who have posted already that we have a 4 yr old dirty girl who didn't breed this yr. She is HUGE. .... Much bigger than Belle, but does not look threatening today at least not to Belle. Cannot confirm siting of Lib. Questionable. Trudy comes in and sits on the limb above the nest and appears to be more of a guardian than a threat, at least how she may perceive at her young age.
She is dirty girl with size and stature more like a vulcher and still has dark markings on her head and tail. Lib would not stand a chance with this one. I think she, however, is not meaning harm to the nest. Trudy flew in to the nest unattended nest and simply went to the top limb as if in watch. She looked down at lPaddy and Paddy was looking up at her, Perfect opportunity if Trudy wanted to take the nest or the contents within, but she was just in protective mode.
That's all we have folks, wait Trudy just tried to land on the nest from the upper limb I still think she just wants to be a part of it, odd as it seems, she just doesn't know how It all works or she'd have brought a fish by now.
We r on the move now and will b back later. Hugs to all and to our nest. Belle and Lib rock!!
It all does seem so strange. I've questioned why, if Trudy wanted the nest, that she hasn't been far more aggressive or killed Joy. And why Belle isn't running her off more aggressively.
Hi Susan and Grey was really nice meeting the both of you. Glad you got to view the nest and Big old dirty bird. Which all of us including you two wish she would just move on away far away !!
Some great on the scene reports today, thanks everybody! Really helps to know what is happening that we can't see. Getting dark now, waiting for the full super worm moon... Paula, you have mail
It was for a long long time. Dr. Sharpie reported on it. I thing there was a cam we watched them on. Then at some point the one female did leave but I think maybe a year or years two females tended that nest. Help Paula you will remember??
Hi kitten1jw Go back to 7:32 comment of Costume Lady and it tells where they posted photo. Click on here name and go to I think she said Wild and Wonderful.
kattijw - are you kattie or shall we call you Brenda ! WELCOME. Now for some videos and pic - Go to comment by paula eagleholic around 5:59pm and click on her name - and go to E-M blog. Scroll through Paula's blog
I remember it and watching the two females in the nest with the male. The females tending to the eaglets. I just can't remember how it started. Whether there was any battles or she just came in and Wray accepted her. Maybe Wray just needed female to female company. I can't remember??? Do you remember Patricia or Iris do you remember how it started?

That was definitely moisture/water from Belle that was being given to the chick. The lighting was finally just right for us to see it.
Wonder if that is Lib up top on lookout?
oh yeah, that's right Lynn...I forgot about Candy!
Well that was very interesting to see. Definitely coming up with something for the chick.
oh Robyn, thank you so much for your trip to the nest!!!
Belle, before she rocked down, did pick something up and mash it in her beak. She is doing something to feed PJ.
I"m still lurking and I agree with Bev.
BTW - Scott your pix are great.
I can only watch for 19.51 minutes before I have to refresh and sometimes get the commercial.
UH OH! Missiles fired on Libya!!!
France led the attack and the US sent some from vessels.
I sure hope someone documents this.
I document my falcon sites.
I agree that this chick is getting a bit more than water.
Maybe closer to dark a delivery will come.
with all the crows etc around Belle would not leave chick unattended to hunt. but if Belle, herself, starts to be compromised she would.
Now this is textbook jargon.
I think Belle gets mother of the year award already.
She is shuggling down again over youngster.
what time is it cam time???
Paula, I too saw something land higher in the tree, as the camera shook, and Belle was screeching. THis was before the moisture feeding that Belle just gave chick.
If Robyn didn't see Lib around, maybe he flew off with Trudy Hussey. He could always turn around and return to the nest if he felt a safe distance away?
Lynne I may go tomorrow as well, see if my nephew Jason wants to go. He said he was dog sitting today and he would go tomorrow with me...
May dried grass.
I got video!
READ MY COMMENT AT 5:54PM THIS THREAD PLEASE --It is on my blog "Nest of Liberty and Belle" also
Earlier I saw Belle fly up from the ground to the nest, she may be getting some kind of nourishment for herself
Awesome! Oh boy,if we were not so far behind on doing things that need done around the place here after being laid up for so long, I'd bet Steve and I would trek over there too.
Oh, good, Paula, I was hoping someone was getting a video of that feeding. We may just have seen something new.
@PA Nana - thank you so much
bev, it's just after 6pm here.
What does it show on the posts for you???
My cam is up to 4:41 hrs.!!!! I was sure getting upset over that 19 min. thing!
Put picv on blog of Belle Feeding? chick.
It's possible that never have there been any Bald Eagle observations in such a critical standoff.
Lynn, are you doing ok? I am glad you had a warm goodbye.
with so much else going on with the nest and all dopn't forget to take some time for yourself. No outward reason. A necropsy will be done to determine what happened.
Knut, the polar bear in Germany, died today. Only four years old.

Hi Susan and Grey ( :
It was great meeting you two and hope you come for Open House in October and the Big Dinner we have afterwards. Yes that would probably mean you'll have to stay over.
Sorry you had to make the report about Knut's the 4 yr old polar bears passing.
How did I make such a crazy comment? No outward reason goes with the bear comment. Sorry.
I heard that little scratchy noise, too, like when something lands near mic, when Belle was screeching before she got up to tend to POJ. I was afraid it might be Trudy, but don't think Belle would uncover nest bowl then.
@BEagle
@wvgal dana
Dog food is in Kathryn's car, and she's out visiting our new neighbor. I handed out Milk Bones.
Hey Suz, where have you been!
Yep, saw that about Knut. So sad, and like Lynn, I'll be very interested to see what the necropsy reveals.
Megan.....do you have fruit trees??
SB WEAPON FOR FRUIT GROWERS
I spent about 2 hours this morningon search engines trying to find out if anyone had ever made and recordings of Eagles or any raptors regurgitating their food. Of ocurse I came up with nada. BUT i was so holding onto hope that in certain situations etc perhpas it oculd happen. I fit empties into stomach from crop then that may not be what we are seeing but perhpas she had food in her beak she was softening etc as she brooded pJ and it was finally ready to feed. Is anyone writing down all of the observations by any chance??
With Belle's back to the camera, it appears she is giving a moisture feeding to chick again. If so, this is exactly what I saw late yesterday and made the comment "what is Belle doing?"
Sorry to hear about Knut!
Good about the xmas tree.
I sure hope Trudy is gone...and that was Lib that landed in the tree. Haven't seen Belle upset since the landing.
We are recording information in our posts, pictures, and with Paula's video. I think that is pretty good.
Hi Suzan, and welcome Kathi and Carolyn.
We are all learning something new together.
I have got to go out and throw the ball for the dog! BBS
I hate to leave but Hubby wants me to go with him to pick out something. I think since he brought back a latte , I should LOL
I will check back, and I am hoping there are Libby sightings.
See you all later.
so much more relaxing today , than yesterday.
In case I forgot to say it....thanks Dana for checking the nest yesterday, and Robyn for doing so today!!!!
Hey, everyone.....please help me remind Dana of 2PM TOMORROW!!!!!!
I know Shirley, but it's hard to go back through so many posts over so much time to find info.
I am also surrounded by hungry dogs.....BBL
I saw that story in the post Lynn, thanks. I don't have fruit trees and I won't use anything for stink bugs that isn't organic. We are working on our own plan of attack here, cause we haven't seen any advice for us yet from the gov that we can apply to our gardens.
Lori and I are going to head out to the nest early tomorrow morning.
We hope to be there around 8am
egg roll, fluffing
Belle just rotated the egg twice. Chick is alert.
Megan, what about soapy water? Dishwashing soap...don't really know if that's organic or not.
AWESOME Paula!!! Will you be able to report from the field?
BBS
Yea Lori and Paula. My prayers are with you tomorrow.
You are right, Lynne. It would be a challenge to pull out the information.
BBL. Gonna go see what Kathryn is up to. Getting hungry.
not a link Remember black bears are suppose to hibernae....What has Dr. Rogers proved??? They don't sleep all winter, they come out of the din, they even give birth during that time.
Son just brought dinner to me so I am going to eat and spend time with him. I will bbl. Hoping that Liberty will make an appearance while I am gone.
My husband and I might just drive out there tomorrow. It is a little over 2 hours from where we live. I think it would be neat to tell my students that I got to see their eagles!

I just sit down to check on things and hubby starts asking for dinner. After 25 years, you would think he knows better. Geesh!! Be back soon.
I will have my phone, so I can post to the blog. I can get the still cam on it, but not video
Found an eagle info site & as someone said earlier, I think, the crop will store indigestible things, like scales, fur, etc. It can then reguritate these wastes from the crop in a mass.Does not really say food is never in crop. DUH
Sure am hoping that while we are on our way to the nest, that we will miss Lib bringing in some sushi!
Lowreeda, those come out of the crop in the form of pellets.
found this after searching for crop milk
Penguins will also generate a milk-like substance from the esophagus to feed young chicks if other food sources are scarce.
Found Lynne's post 5:59 & see crop material goes to stomach, not brought up again. I guess only the undigestible pieces are expunged.
Suzan...LOL----sometimes my text jumps like that, too!!! Funny!
Dana....NCSuzan isn't wv sUSAn!!!!
Glo they had that on the documentary of the penguins in the south pole, forget the name of it, narrated by Morgan Freeman...march of the penguins?
Fascinating that you saw droplets of water on Belle. Saw earlier her doing motions of feeding but saw nothing. Amazing!
JUST HEARD CALLS...but got here and all seems OK.
Eagles produce saliva when they are eating. I read that earlier. I wonder if they can produce it when they are NOT eating and that is what we are seeing. Maybe she is keeping the baby hydrated with her saliva?
LOL---Lynne2....don't confuse NCSuzan with Suz!!!!! Suz can't blog from her new work location!!! And, of course, still no puter hooked up at home!
Belle is looking up but doesn't seem disturbed.
LOL Lynn! I had to look back to see if Suz had blogged. Then saw that Lynne had called Susan that. Too funny!
OH I didn't Lynn, I see the first Suz on here so infrequently that I had just gotten in the habit of calling NCSuzan Suz for short.
Paula I may go back with my nephew tomorrow early afternoon, depends how much school work I can complete
No she sure isn't thanks Hedgie-Lynn.
I think you better stay away from Mai. So she can get comfortable with new person. She will know your smell this early lady.
Remember in case you didn't see where I wrote on blog. I am not going tomorrow at 2pm.
I will call her Suzan from now on!
The March of the Penguins. Those are the Emperor penguins and have the regurgitating ability in them.
Oh, Paula and Lori, cool that you are going to make the trek!!
Are you going to try to get on campus????
Okay, Dana. Understand about Mom!
Glo, I meant to tell you that it is sure great to have you back on here. After Lib was spotted yesterday, I kept thinking "Glo does not know this!"
Just heard the geese. Sound is okay.
So when food is scarce there is a mechanism that kicks in to help them feed their young.
?
Makes sense to me Lynne I haven't watched the video BUT since so many are sure they saw fluid and osmeone I think said it was brown then it was more than just saliva.
Don't know for sure BEagle, this is all speculation. BUT...some amazing things happen in nature.
I am missing so many posts! We are posting so fast and I forget to check back. Yikes!
I have had the cam up now for 3 hours. Fantastic!
Looks like I'll be there in the morning...looking forward to it!!
Gotta eat, bbialw

ARGH!!!! I don't want to read that that bird is in the tree. I guess at least so far she has NOT headed down to the nest in daylight anyway.
Glo Right now Paddy O'Joy has been getting something to eat. I have pictures others have pictures of her being fed. Someone I think Paula has a video.
Hooray. Scott is going to go to the nest too!
Wanda and Gene....so glad you went....but sure not the news we want to hear....:(

Sure thought we would have heard from Margy by now! Guess she ended up spending the whole day with James!
Lynne, I do think you two should head to the nest. LOL I know I would if I could! Is it going to be a pretty day?
I am going to leave for a while. Dinner time!
BBIALW
Belle is telling the Hussy to GO AWAY!
Oh, and take a large sling shot. First you sling rocks at the hussy and then fish into the next. Or drop a tuna fish sandwich. LOL
Whoops! Belle just gave a little call. Doing again. I think she is looking up at the hussy.
I couldn't tell if that was Belle calling or the Hussy.
Nest not next! You know what I mean!☺
I am all for the sling shot idea.
Right in the butt.
Well Robyn was there viewing the nest some today then Wanda and Gene.
Tomorrow Paula and Lori and our new person Scott are going tomorrow AM.
Robyn is planning on going in afternoon tomorrow.
I'm home
tried live feed and nothing else for 15 mins
nada
almost got the Ford F150 ad
will take forever to catch up
Nature Program at Cacapon was wonderful
See that there will be some nest-goers Sunday, Yay!
Believe I read that Joy is holding her own
I'm going out to find the moon, that is something I can do WITHOUT the computer
catch up with over 700 posts, later
Thanks Wanda and Gene and Robyn and anyone else making the effort to see what's a'happening at NCTC
bbl, probably
You can hear Trudy up there.
That female intruder even sits up there and stretches out one wing.
Even preens her feathers. grrr
Margy Got any of that Irish coffee???? I think I could drink a whole one fixed just how they fix it (not light)!!!!!
Scott Thanks for asking Resse that question and posting here his answer.
anyone want to drive out there with me? Going to be a supermoon tonight.
Photos on blog, Wild and Wonderful...not real clear...tree is a bit farther away from where we usually observe.
Way to GO BELLE!!!
She came into the nest and Belle fought her.
Belle just attacked Trudy Hussy! She landed in the nest!
oh no, Trudy just landed in the nest and Belle got her out.
Crap, hussy is still around...didn't get it taped....
Paddy is ok
Now don't anyone go...ewwww. But maybe some of our teachers remember a Science Museum Content about the Human body.
Eagle landed at about 1 and Belle quickly dispatched her. Most unexpected!!!!
She must have made a close pass....Belle was in fight mode again.
OK my heart is pounding, I hope Belle kicks her...butt
I hear the intruder in the background
Darn that female intruder will just not give up !!
Chased the hussy right out of her home.
Belle was making little distress noises, then her hackles got up on alert, then Turdy Hussy landed on Belle, not the nest. Belle managed to get her off of her and nest. Chick is chirping now.
did ya'll see that poop shoot!
She landed on the side of the nest close to egg cup, belle went after her in nest to chase her away
@wvgal_dana Of course
If he is poop shooting he is getting nourishment...
"Feeding" something again.
NOW all together ... ewwwww
My heart is a pounding too.
I keep getting "conflicting edits" today. I need to watch my manners I guess.
Belle appears to be giving moisture nourishment again to chick.
Okay Iris. EWWWWWWWWW!!!!
OK, been doing some reading hear and there. Much of what I am reading is saying that the female controls the breeding territory. And that BOTH adults will run intruders out. So I still have to wonder....we just saw Belle kick her out, so why does she not keep trying to run her off altogether?
I don't think intruder landed on Belle. She was on the edge of nest coming in edge near egg cup.
If she would have landed on Belle there would have been more of a scuffle/battle.
Intruder just landed on the far side of the nest again. Now Belle is 'feeding' the chick something again! Dana ... can't you leave a few fish out there somewhere! :)
I missed the poop shoot:(
Well the good news is PJ has been given a few drops of something from somewhere by Belle, and as of Yesterday Lib was seen and was alive and well.
Nite all.
Light just came on.
There flashed the night light.
Light came on
Hi Patricia, and good night Glo!
Dana, bears have always given birth during hibernation. That isn't anything new that Dr. Lynn's research has shown.
Michael is calling the intruder Trudy Tramp!
Trudy
I'd like to give the female intruder a fish......one so big she chocked on it. grrrr
Belle finished moisture feeding and rotated the egg again, several times today.
HI Susan, and thanks for the info.
It all does seem so strange. I've questioned why, if Trudy wanted the nest, that she hasn't been far more aggressive or killed Joy. And why Belle isn't running her off more aggressively.
There is the right Susan ( :
Hi Susan and Grey was really nice meeting the both of you. Glad you got to view the nest and Big old dirty bird. Which all of us including you two wish she would just move on away far away !!
Take care you two ( :
Meanwhile, I 'm sure glad you and Grey are having a nice weekend and Happy Anniversary to you! Steve and I had our second on Dec 28!
Thanks for the news WVsUSAN. It helps to hear both sides of the picture we are watching.
That just makes me more confused. :(
Back after finishing dinner and taking a quick look at the nest. Belle was feeding PJ something and now settling in and rearranging flugg.
Belle just rotated the egg again!
Me too Patricia. We sure are witnessing something pretty amazing here....
New here. People mention pics and videos. Can someone tell me where they are posted?
Brenda
Some great on the scene reports today, thanks everybody! Really helps to know what is happening that we can't see.
Getting dark now, waiting for the full super worm moon...
Paula, you have mail
Remember (Paula help me out here) in California wasn't there two females and one male adult tending a nest and eaglets?
New here. I see post mentioning pictures and videos, can someone tell me where they are located/posted.
thanks
kattie
I have return from Mass (many many prayers said) and a light dinner.
Good to hear from Susan & Grey
Robyn I thought you were going to go with the good looking jogger!
I love to see Belle beaking (whatever) with Joy. She really just rolled that egg.
It was for a long long time. Dr. Sharpie reported on it. I thing there was a cam we watched them on. Then at some point the one female did leave but I think maybe a year or years two females tended that nest. Help Paula you will remember??
Have I mean hearing rolling thunder this past hour, or is it wind? Sound different than wind.
for those of you who are new, or missed this.....this eagle was released today!!!
He was cared for by Dr Zantop and Kathy Woods, who is an amazing and tireless wildlife rehabber that I have the honor to know.
Eagle Rescued
It's wind, here's tonight's nest weather,- Mostly clear. Lows around 30. North winds 5 to 10 mph.

Liz, what you are hearing is the wind/breeze on the cam's microphone. It can sound like thunder, but it's not.
You can call me either. Real name is Brenda but kattie is my childhood nickname.
Thanks for the info. Trying to find my way around a new site.

Not kitten1jw it was kattie1jw sorry so many new people. Welcome to ALL of you.
HAHA JO.
A part of me wants to go to the nest now but it is getting late and Tori and I may play world of warcraft or rift after she finishes eating.
The moon looks awesome, an orangie glow and getting larger the more it rises...
Reminds me of the moon I saw in Buffalo Chip South Dakota in Sturgis back in 87. It was almost half the size of the sky it seemed
I have to disappear for a while
BBSoon
Yes I am walking out door to see the moon also Megan.
Back again - I was an hour early leaving -
It was the West End nest in CA that had the 2 females. Wray and Diana. Diana left a few years ago and hasn't been seen since.
Good memory Patricia...I was wracking my brain and couldn't remember their names.
Thanks for the help on that nest Patricia. ( : Welcome !
Thanks for the kind thoughts...I also hope that any conflict stays far away from Israel!
Perhaps the intruder wanted the nest for the night
Patricia is that you PattiO?
I drove in the moonlight last night
Robyn, guess I could do it again tonight.
I need to know - Who did the Poop Shoot
I remember it and watching the two females in the nest with the male. The females tending to the eaglets. I just can't remember how it started. Whether there was any battles or she just came in and Wray accepted her. Maybe Wray just needed female to female company. I can't remember??? Do you remember Patricia or Iris do you remember how it started?
