my tomatoes: coming in to ripen very haphazardly, started to get some of the bigger ones ripening now, and several from the potted plants...often enough that I have been enjoying tomato sandwiches regularly
yes I missed you the other night too...
think that was the night you fell asleep before you meant to ☺
Dinner is over and the kids are now playing hide and seek.
Tomorrow we are going to Fossil Rim. It is a drive through wild animal park. We will feed the ostrich and many deer and exotic antelope, as well as giraffe. The also have cheetahs and rhino's but they do not run wild. ☺
If the tiger video pauses on you, try moving the indicator at the bottom of the screen back so it starts over. There is a problem with the download speed--at least on my computer.
Heard today about a Great Horned Owl (in Honeywood for you locals) that was either ill or injured. Residents couldn't find anyone to help a protected species. It died. The guy up in Deep Creek from DNR told them to put it in a plastic bag and put it in the trash, but not to keep any feathers...duh! The lleader of out advocacy group took it into the woods to let nature take it's course.
Lynn, thanks for the info about the advocacy group. Hope you all are successful politically.
Lolly, sounds like you all are having a wonderful time at camp Hawkwood. Continue to enjoy.
Haven't had time to watch video. Will do that tomorrow.
Myrtle is not so dumb. Knows when to cover her butt.
Shirley, nice you had family over to enjoy dinner together. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.
Margy, have a quiet night.
Speaking of quiet night, I am going to turn my light off to go in search of the sandperson. Will leave the night light on for others coming in, going back the hallway, down to the tub, up to the bed, or just headed for a recliner. Andy, please set our alarm for us. Until tomorrow...
And now heading for tub. Early morning for me, too. Have to meet the girls at 12 for lunch and shopping outing. Sweet dreams. Prayers for all. Margy, have a good night. Jo---I sent June an email asking about Karen tonight. Great minds......G'night.
Getting here a bit late; have been watching 'Whale Wars'.
Dana, glad you were able to get here!
Margy, good to see you here, too--have missed you!
Shirley, will be praying for you tomorrow. Hoping that all goes well. Thanks for the 'catnip' video--really cute!
Paula, thanks for the Belle video. Glad some nestorations are going on.
Judie, hope you sleep well tonight. Glad to hear that Lily and Hope are back together again!
Have taken a bunch of panda naps today. Don't feel bad, just tired. Got pretty well caught up on rest.
Sorry to hear of the death of the Great Horned Owl, Lynn. They are so beautiful!
Lolly, glad that Camp Hawkwood is such a success! Sure sounds like fun!
Well, getting kinda sleepy, so think I'll call it a night. Leaving the porch light and night light on for others. Prayers said for everyone. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Sleep well, everyone, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all you guys! :o]
Loved the Catnip & Big Cats video, Shirley...and Paula's video of Belle made me want to rush down to the nest and see if I could recover that feather that was carried out...looked like it could have been an adult eagle feather. Whatever it was, Belle acted as if she couldn't get it out of there fast enough:)
GOOD NIGHT ALL MY FRIENDS SWEET DREAMS PRAYERS FOR ALL
Goodness, gracious......do we have a bunch of sleepy head this AM???? Can tell that it's Aug.---very foggy morning, little webbies all over the ground. Been up for 2 hrs. Papers read, hair washed, breakfast eaten, emails read, and caught up here......
GO FOR IT LYNNE...GG finally has some bloom on her Morning Glories. Groundhogs and deer have been dining on them all season. I put a small amout of netting over them and now, at least some of them will bloom:)
Good morning! Had a first here this morning. I came out this morning at 7:45 and low and behold, I beat the boys up! I peeked into their rooms and Joseph was just getting up. Jacob was awake playing with his bears in bed. Joseph is growing up. He has always been such an early riser!
Have read the paper, now to water pots and then off to Fossil Rim.
Quiet morning here. Was going out to lunch but friend canceled because mil fell and broke a hip.
Lynn, sad about the GHO. Hope it did not suffer.
Lolly, enjoy another day at Camp Hawkwood.
Wanda, good that GG has blooming Morning Glories. Always one of my favorites. Also love Moonflowers at dusk.
Jo, hope you do exceptionally well without prednisone. Irony, saw my primary about drug side-effects and radiology wants to put me on prednisone just to have a cat scan.
Lynn, have fun with the daughters today.
Jo, enjoy being out for a while. I may need to do the same -- cabin fever.
Shirley, that's like my butter knife. It disappeared after Thanksgiving dinner. Looked high and low--I thought--and figured it had gotten thrown away somehow.....just found it last week! It had fallen behind the silverware tray in the drawer!!! Thought the tray was back as far as it would go....NOT!
SHIRLEY...kudos to you for giving us that 'Slang' site. It will come in handy for all of us at some time or another. But, especially you, will use it MANY times with your students. Don't let the kids know that YOU know! ;) *G*
I am missing my primary set of keys. Have been using the back-up set since before Maggie Valley, but I do not have a house key or one of my school desk keys on the back-up ring. (I use the garage code to get into the house. That is fine as long as the power is on and the battery holds up.)
I had to turn in my classroom key, so that is not a problem, and I must have a separate key for every desk drawer and every file cabinet drawer at school, so that will probably be okay.
I can get house key copies from Will's set, but this bugs the daylights out of me.
The last time this kind of thing happened, it was my new glasses and the recliner had eaten them. They fell out after about two weeks. I have checked, but that recliner is something else. It has places that you would not suspect there should be places.
It is funny when kids find out things we do know, Wanda. When they found out I was on Facebook, they Googled me and found a person with the same name who is important in the Baltimore area seafood business. They wanted to know if I own a seafood business. I wish.
On my way out to mow mow mow mow mow lots of grass.
Shirley, about loosing keys....I lost my main set of keys not long ago. Couldn't find them anywhere. About a month went by and I opened the trunk of the car (I had searched the trunk many times) to take out some groceries and there they were, sitting on the back right ledge part of the car that gets covered when the trunk is closed!! I could NOT believe my eyes, especially given how many times I looked in trunk, and just opened it up during that time to put things in and out! I had searched the trunk so many times because the last time I saw the keys was when we were at a friends house and loaded some wood into it. We searched the woodpile, called them and they searched the yard and house.....well, I felt a big DUH moment when I saw them!
I think the baby boy Osprey at BWO brought in a catch some time ago, but it isn't clear what it is. And the little guy has been having a tussle trying to get it eaten.
Finney's is empty now, but I saw one of the young ones a couple of minutes ago, so they are there yet, which means the Dad is there too.
Lot of errands to run today and have to check in on GG. This is my day off...want to pay her a surprise visit and see what she gets into when I'm not there:)
Have fun spending money on the gd and school shopping. Maybe you will find something for yourself. Did NOT have dr visit - in fact don't have any the rest of the month. It was just an errand run with hubby.
I sure hope GG doesn't get offended Wanda about your surprise visit BUT I would also want to know what goes on during your day off! Maybe you need a hidden camera but then that invades a person's privacy - don't know if mothers count or not!
Hello there - Eagle Eye! Miss you on here but keep up with you on FB. It took me quite a while to get use to "quiet". The quiet will just make the visits all the more special! loL
Good grief the dewpoint here is 75 YUK!!!! Line of storms starting to form west of here....cells just north of Hagerstown, other cells building west of Frederick, all heading east and growing. Sever T'storm watch in effect for the area.
Well, mowing not done, belt loose. Need new one. Geez we can't get a break trying to get this paying job done.
oh my GOSH I just saw a monarch attempting to lay eggs on my milkweed!! She was fluttering all around the leaves, trying to get to the underside of some, and when she did, she stuck her little backside onto it! I didn't see the egg, though. Maybe she missed. Hope she comes back! Have some tiny babies on my Megan Butterfly Weed now too!
Shirley, thanks for the slang dictionary. I think I may use some of the terms, for fun, in class. See what the reaction is.
Hi Sharon and Hi Jim. Hope you both are having a nice day.
Wanda, you are being just like a mama -- checking in on her chicklet to see if she's up to no good. Hope the visit is/was a good one.
Lynne, hope the mower is repaired soon so you can finish that job AND hope you have a Monarch egg.
Ah Paula, talk about sticky. Went out to do an errand and was soaked even with car AC on. Keep looking longingly at my sweaters -- can't wait for cooler weather.
Good afternoon everyone. Lynne you sure are having a hard time lately. Better days ahead for you.
Paula, I have several ice cream scoops and would be glad to loan you one or 2.
Best of luck for Shirley today.
Magpie, have a good night.
Lolly is having fun, fun, fun with the grandkids.
Max & Mommy took a nap this afternoon and woke up grouches, so they walked over to the park with big brother. Jim & I had a short reprieve - THEY'RE BACK. :D Started to thunder they said. We are expecting storms - again.
Up and about and getting leftovers ready for dinner. I wonder if Belle will make another visit this evening? My live feed will be up but she is so quiet. I am waiting for a report from Pennyless Lynn !
Oh, my, I have been SO sleepy again today! Have taken the panda nap to a whole new level! Still can't get any results of my throat culture, and can't seem to get the Dr.'s office on the phone. Guess I'll live, because I'd like to think they would have contacted me if otherwise, but they made a huge deal about the results being available online, and they are NOT. Called the toll-free phone number for "other results", and they have a message there about a throat culture--"the results are NOT available." Sigh....
Haven't caught up completely on the blog. Has Shirley checked back in yet? Certainly hoping to hear a good report from her!
Waiting for Hubby to get home from work shortly. Guess I'll try to get some housework done meanwhile. Don't want him to think I've been eating chocolates and reading 'True Story' all day! Will be back later, probably after dinner and a bit of TV. Have a great evening! :o]
We are home now from Fossil Rim. Had a ball! Feeding the Giraffes was the high light! They are so sweet and so gentle. You should have heard the squeals when one licked the window and giraffe drool rolled down the window.
The ostrich did not peck the window but they came close.
Hi, Just checking in. Nothing has changed since the last boob sandwich, so I don't have to do anything but have another one in six months.
Had a discussion with the doctor at the imaging center and told him that I would like to discuss everything with my oncologist. I could opt for a biopsy if I want to, but there is no real reason for concern.
I have been running all over town and I'm ready for a panda nap. Probably not a good idea if I want to sleep well tonight, but I going to do it anyway.
Lolly saw the giraffe pic on FB - very exciting for you as well as the boys. Shirley - isn't tomorrow your first day to return to school.. you'll be too excited to sleep tonight if it is.
Hubby and I are headed for a quick trip to Wally World
oh Andy, how frustrating! You know, I am sure everything is fine, but once some negative test results were NOT given to me, and I have told every Dr since then that I don't want to hear "no news is good news". As far as I am concerned, no news is NO NEWS. Period.
Shirley, glad to hear from you and that all is well!
I have returned from Wally World and the temp is too high for comfort. We didn't get any rain whatsoever. It could storm but I think it is headed to the north.
Shirley, such welcome news that all is okay. Knew it would be. Try to get some rest and then some serious sleep in prep for tomorrow. My thoughts will be with you.
Andy, so sorry the culture results are not available. I understand the wonder of technology but, where medicine and one's health is concerned, I truly wish there were a law that physicians have to contact patients personally with test results. feel better!
Diann, sure hope the grouchies stop being grouchy and you all can enjoy being together.
Paula, I also have an extra ice cream scoop. Stop by any time to pick it up.
Dinner is over. Not so great tonight. Made tomato sauce and it was sort of acidic. Disappointment.
I'm home......brought a Subway sandwich home with me, so have eaten and feelinga little rejuvenated. Trip was not TOO bad---except the prices! We found all of their clothes at Fashion Bug---best place for BIG girls, and ladies, too. Also bought Carolyn an outfit for work, and Christie two shirts. Got myself one T and a new pocketbook---just as I was ready to walk out of the house, my lighthouse pocketbook broke a strap---argh!!! Had to go to WalMart for their underwear (of ocurse, I had already gotten socks during local mill sock sale). WIth all of that, a gas tank fill, cash from the ATM, lunch....and a loan to Carolyn to tide her over since she STILL hasn't gotten her final unemployment check.....I'm only $1300 poorer. ARGH!
hope that Wanda found GG to be doing well on her "day off " -
I need to catch a few more winks before midnight shift.. BUT I am back on days for Sept and Oct, so I might be able to make the Open House and BOTH dinners...
I think I have a TV show or 2 this evening. I like the Closer and it's on at 9:00. Hedgie Sounds like the girls almost broke the bank - Very happy you got some things for yourself!
Andy Call and get that throat culture result - so many times the reports are under other reports on the desk of the doc. It is more than likely negative - but it is the principle of it all. Irritates me no end!
Whoopee!!! Margy!! Would not be a proper Friday night nor a proper Saturday party without you at open house!
Have had dinner...Bacon Pasta. Asked the boys what they wanted and before I finished the question BP was the answer! Then we all had ice cream cones. Boys are presently playing next door. Need to call them in soon. It has been another long day, but super fun!!!
Margy, hope you are well-rested for work and that it will be a quiet night. Check around to see if your book might still have some serious value.
What a treat to have a Magpie at two dinners. That would be great fun.
Speaking of fun, so glad the Camp Hawkwood bunch had another fun day. Sleep well.
Speaking of sleep, I am going to watch a little t.v. and then will be turning my light off. Will leave the night light on for others coming in, headed back the hallway, down to the tub, up the stairs, or to a recliner. No matter, I'm just looking for sheetz. I know Andy will set our alarm for us. Pleasant dreams and restful sleep. Prayers for Kailey and Karen.
Evening Everyone. Didn't read everything yet but wondered if anyone got rain???Still waiting for mine! MARGY, hooray--you'll have days in Oct. I assume that does NOT mean Sats. Stupid day today---had lunch close to 3PM, as belly wasn't happy. Now I have to have dinner. Was watching wrens and hummers today. As for wrens, Bigger Birdbrain is 2 weeks old today. He is starting to lift his head toward the door, but not looking out yet. Think he needs another day before thinking of fledging. Baby Birdbrain can barely get a beak up to door. Saw both beaks finally thru window this evening.Have noticed that the meals are getting larger, too. One came today that had to be removed!Sometimes when I'm sitting too close to tree, I get grouchy squawks from Ms. Wren. She doesn't like me anymore as I had to run interference for Shorty while he ate. I was the blocker! Read Andy is under the wreather---get well soon! ☺
Got an email from June, Karen's friend. She is still dealing with some thrush issues in her mouth and having troubleeating, but they did get her mother into an assisted living facility.
Oh, Paula, hope you enjoyed your fish. And Bacon Pasta at Camp Hawkwood---lots of goodies!
Loretta, sounds like the wrens are growing really fast! Hope your tummy feels better.
LOL- Judie......bought my mom a new car as a birthday surprise present back in '96.....all of the old ladies in her "widows club" in FL wanted to adopt me then!!
GOOD EVENING... I had a busy, but productive afternoon. Spent a long time at the bank getting a bit of credit card fraud taken care of. It happened in April and the CC Co. never did send us a new credit card. Young lady at the bank got everything straightened out...I don't have to write anymore letters or make anymore phone calls to some foreign speaking idiot! Also, GG got a FINAL NOTICE of an unpaid bill (which I paid in April). Same problem with them...foreign speaking idiot! Company wanted a copy of front and back of check (I paid it online...no back to a check paid online). Bank made me a copy and stamped the back. I will mail that and see what the foreign speaking idiot thinks of that...MTBR.
Went to Wally World and bought GG a replacement coffee decanter for the one that she broke while cleaning it. Then went to GG's...she was trying to find an old receipe of hers for Ham/Broccoli/Rice casserole which she wants to make for Family Friday dinner:) WOW...she hasn't cared what we have for dinner for a looong time! Now, she wants to cook it! Then to the doctor for a GG script...then to the drugstore. I was too tired to finish my last errand, so I came on home. It has been so long since I have been able to do so much in one day. I feel so good that I was able to get so much done and off my mind! Now, I need to go to the B....;)
Good news about GG, Wanda! Hope she wasn't annoyed that you showed up!
No rain here...lots of thunder from a storm to the north of us, but close enough and loud enough to freak Daisy out. Where is the cold front that was causing the storms? Dew point is still 73!!! And it's 82degrees here!
Heading to bed now. Lots to think about. Not only the UE, but some bad news about a good friend, and others in trouble. Time are just not good for many in our immediate circle.
Lynne, so sorry that your friend is having woes. It's going around, isn't it?
Wanda, hope GG liked the Tilapia! Listen.....about the back-of-the-check thing: the reason they want that is to prove that "they" endorsed/posted it......afraid your battle may not be over. :(
I always feel a little funny this time of year. Feel like I too should be getting my classroom ready. However, I am oh so glad I am not doing that anymore. It is soooo tiring the beginning of the school year.
Boys are in bed. Jacob seems to be going down without a problem this evening. They really are sweet and such fun boys! Tomorrow, hair cuts at 10 then a little shopping. Going to the Museum of Science and History after lunch. They have already asked what is for dinner tomorrow night. lol
After Hubby got home, I ran to the post office and 2 banks to get errands done. Then had dinner, and watched some TV.
Shirley, glad to hear everything's OK for now. Hope your day at school goes exceptionally well tomorrow!
Think I'll leave a message for my primary care Dr. tomorrow, and let HER get in touch with either the lab, or the Dr. that saw me in urgent care last week. Thanks, everyone, for your concern!
Lynne, prayers for your finances, and your concern that your UE is soon ending. I was there myself, back in early April. We are just thanking God that He has paid our bills for us! Pray that He will do the same for you!
Margy, that's GREAT that you have a day shift for October, and will be able to be at the Open House! Sure wish I weren't so doggone far away! (Hope that one of these days I'll be able to get there!)
Well, think I'm about ready to call it quits for today. Leaving the porch light and the night light on for others. Prayers said for everyone. Eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Sleep well, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
Loweeda, so nice that the wrens are growing. What fun to have them so close.
Thanks Lynn for the update on Karen's mom. Having her mom in assisted living must be a huge relief.
Wanda, what a busy day yesterday. It really is irritating to try to communicate with individuals who don't speak English. I do hope all the mess is straightened out very quickly. What an inconvenience. Good news is GG is taking such an interest in normal activities again -- supergirl!
Lolly, I always start to feel a little funny this time of years, also. What I imagine it must fee like walking a plank into the middle of the ocean -- sink or swim. Have fun today with the younguns.
Andy, hope you feel better but please do call the dr. this morning.
Shirley, I know you've headed to school but still wishing you a good day. Check in if you can.
Lynne, sure am wishing things would look up for you. Remember, you've got us, babe!
Off to find some coffee, newspaper and to contemplate finishing my syllabus and putting it online today.
It is a LOVELY MORNING, Judie. 77° and sunny. Now, if it would just stay this way...but, it is going up to 90°. It's been awhile since I've been into the garden...going to check it out and see if the rain last week has helped any of the veggies. I picked a peck of pickled peppers, and then there were none! No more babies growing and no blossoms to produce more...I feel certain it is because of the extreme heat, because I have kept them watered all Summer. At 2.99 and 3.99 a pound, I have been diligent with their care! We use green, red and yellow (orange if available) peppers all year round, so it is nice to grow them and they freeze beautifully:)
Morning all. In a whirling-dervish mode here. Have a gal coming this afternoon to teach me how to manage a webiste for the animal advocacy group. Sure hope I'm smart enough to do this! B But have been a bit remiss in my housework lately with the summer blahs...so quick clean up in the works! Hope eveyone else has a more relaxing day. Will check in periodically!
Oh, I forgot, the Fall crop of beans that we planted are up and starting their second set of leaves. Even the ones that the groundhog nipped are producing more leaves. Just didn't get enough of the first crop:(
Good morning in Eagle land Early-bird Jim, Shirley, Judie, Paula, Hedgie, and Wanda.
Hi Judie (sleep and dopey) thanks for your comment. I got to learn Karen's Mom is getting some help. That will certainly take a load off Karen and June. Plus Andy must not be feeling well. Poor lady all that studying and testing and running. Take care get well Andy. Learned that Loweeda is having fun with her wrens. SMILE
Thanks Paula will check out cam.
Hedgie-Lynn you'll get it set up your smarting than you give yourself credit for.
Wanda nice GG is active and your beans and peppers are coming in. I can't eat either of them. Well a few beans of some kinds. Definitely no peppers! I'll have to read back if have time about what the language barrier is.
I haven't been on re-arranging my meds puts me down for a couple of days. I'm starting to feel like I'm adjusting. So today I'm going to try and run some errands later.
Oh I see either Lib or Belle was at the nest. Reading more in comments. (: So happy people comment on here. I can't always get to facebook. Thank you all.
Oh goodie Margy is going to possibly make the Oct. dinner yay yay yay yay
Wondering the outcome of Lolly's drive through animal park on Monday. My Mom and Dad went to one. The car ahead of them was being shook by an elephant......Dad said to Mom, "We've seen enough and went around real fast and got the heck out of there". LOL I can just imiage the look on their faces.
Oh my Paula thank you so so much. Getting to see Belle doing her housekeeping. So folks but it did bring tears to my eyes. She is so beautiful and knows we still are looking for them. Thank you Paula it did my heart so good. Smiling from video. (:
Well Mom and Dad also went to the movies which they normally did not do. Remember this was way back when this movie first came out. The seen it in the newspaper Deliverance. They thought it was a "Biblical Movie". Of course they got up and walk out after getting the shock of their life.
Lynne hang in there. One door closes and another door opens. You can see that by what Hedgie's daughter went through. Now she is a 911 operator. Prayers you find that open door.
There's nobody home at WE, but you can see they are building up the nest again. They've got sticks outlining the extension covering most of the rocky area too.
It used to cover all or most of the rock before the slide last year, so they will be using it again, and they're rebuilding to about the size it was earlier. C(°ٿ°)D Jim
Looks like there's nobody home here, either, Jim! Well, I don't know if I'm any smarter, but I am now an administrator to a webpage! Lots of "playing" to do to learn how to manage it!
Hi Jim, sure hope you start to feel better soon. Hate having a cold. Miserable.
Cool Lynn. A webmaster for such a terrific group. Congratulations. Be sure to let us know if it's fun to learn.
Wanda, so great that you have more crops growing. We have nearly nothing again this season.
Dana, I can only imagine the reaction of your mom and dad when they went to see Deliverance. lol
Sure hope everyone had a good day were able to stay out of the heat for the most part.
I finished a course syllabus, prepared my grade roster, put material online for students. Now I have only to prepare something to talk about on Aug. 31. Can't wait to hear about Shirley's day.
Clouds have started rolling in here. Flood watch issued for many areas tomorrow--2-3" rain, highs in low 70's! We need rain, but not sure we need all that!
Oh, Lynn, so jealous! 102, feels like 107, another 100 tomorrow. Some pop up storms but we have not had one. My lawn is drying up and my water bill is climbing. Not happy! 18 days above 100!
Had a great day today....went to the museum. Presently the boys are playing on the slip and slide and Jack and I are inside.
Just received a text from Laurel. It said "Just found out my class sizes....think I am going to vomit!" And folks wonder what is wrong with education. They think ONE lone teacher can perform miracles with many children! Grrrr!
I came home to relax a bit after a very busy day. They kept us working on unit organizers all day.
We are expected to start using them the first week of school and will be observed to see that we are using them.
We will also have to turn them in for administrative inspection. Additionally, they will be inspecting our syllabi and parent letters.
I think they are going to be very busy inspecting our work and observing us. No, we haven't done anything bad. At least I don't think so. We even made AYP last year.
We're supposed to be a pilot school for this unit organizer thing. It is not a bad plan, but it will be a lot of work getting started.
I stayed after to start putting my classroom together. I don't know how much time we'll have for that, but I should have my units organized at least!
Should have gone in last week to put the classroom together, but I think I can manage that by staying a bit late each day. Whew!
Oh-oh, Lolly. Poor Laurel. That sounds dire. Know that they are needed, but I could never encourage my kids to be nurses or teachers in this day and age.
Shirley, I don't remember what Judie said about the recipe.....it might have been a technique rather than an ingredient.....Oh, Judie---where are you?!
Lolly, the evening news mentioned your heat wave last night....16 days yesterday in a row over 100°
Anyone else get a message that they had to update their flash player to view the live feed? I got one tonight. Damn thing still won't work here at home, gonna shut down and try again
Wow, Lolly, that is a big class. I had 27 11th graders in one of my classes last year and that was plenty. It does get challenging to find places for all of those desks.
Hi Shirley, what are unit organizers? I know you will get your room ready. Just take it a day at a time.
Lolly, I agree with Shirley that Laurel is going to have at least one large class. I cannot imagine dealing with 30 6th graders. Just happy you and Jack are having a fun week together with the younguns.
I'll check the recipe and post it. It's dry rub but no prior preparation such as boiling. Easy for the grill.
When I was unable to get the live cam for the nest, I kept getting the request to update flash player, kept updating and updating, still could not get the live cam. That is what was so frustrating. How many times did I need to update my flash player? Missed so much of seeing Palmer grow up. Made me very sad.
Dinner over. Need to be a pretend Jo and put my feet up. Will check out t.v. and BBL
Paula, I just saw Gianni's most recent photo...I couldn't comment on FB page. Just wanted to ask if the little darlin' smiles like that all the time? Just makes you smile to look at her:) You just couldn't ask for a more pleasant, pretty granddaughter! We must plan a playdate for she and Jayden;)
Judie, the unit organizer is part of a teaching strategy developed at the University of Kansas that is supposed to help students improve their critical thinking skills. It is supposed to help students understand the relationships between the concepts they are being taught with the use of charts and diagrams, among other techniques. It is part of a program we are using to improve literacy across the curriculum.
I popped "unit organizer University of Kansas" into a search engine and found all kinds of stuff on the Internet.
Oh no, just heard John got into an accident....hit some guy on Rt 97 outside of Littlestown...idiot was turning around in the middle of the road at the top of a hill. John came over the hill and hit him! He's OK, but car had to be towed, he doesn't think it's totaled. I talked to Ajay, hope he'll call when he gets home. He's already been feeling bad this week with a bad cold, and now this. Thank goodness he has another vehicle to drive to work.
Paula, glad John is okay. Dummy doing a uturn on a hill. That is such a pain now for John to have to deal with.
About to put the boys to bed. They are bathed and have brushed their teeth. It has been a full day. Just need to read to Jacob now and Joseph will listen in as well. Then....I get to put my feet up! Yea!!!!!!!!!!!
Margy, I think the hooded crows are usually at Finland on the water..
Thanks everyone for your concerns. Poor guy can't even take any aspirin or tylenol....he's having outpatient surgery on Friday...getting the SNIP, if you get my drift!
Said he was gonna have a couple of shots before he went to bed!

Too funny...site map used to show me hitting from Frostburg, then Hagerstown, then Martinsburg, now I am in Roanoke!
I am uploading video...looked to me like Belle...
Welcome back from your weekend, Steve
Thanks for the fresh thread.
I'll hold tight Paula until you have it ready. Glad you could see it through Spidey' web.
Paula
my tomatoes: coming in to ripen very haphazardly, started to get some of the bigger ones ripening now, and several from the potted plants...often enough that

yes I missed you the other night too...
think that was the night you fell asleep before you meant to ☺
Moon is out, South/Southwest....
evening all....just popping in to say hello. I've been in a funk all day. Today I filed my last available UE claim.
Other than that, all is well. Haven't caught all the way up but I see I missed a nest visit!
Going to turn in early, so you all have a good evening and prayers for you all!
prayers for you too Lynne...hang in there...Keep the Faith

Dinner is over and the kids are now playing hide and seek.
Tomorrow we are going to Fossil Rim. It is a drive through wild animal park. We will feed the ostrich and many deer and exotic antelope, as well as giraffe. The also have cheetahs and rhino's but they do not run wild. ☺
Have a nice nap, Margy!

Video is posted! Off to watch some TV tonight!
http://eagletmomsters.blogspot.com/
Off to watch TV
I need to watch the video again - I really thought when Belle flew out
that she had something with an eagle
feather hanging on it.
BBILW
Just watched the video. There was definitely a feather dangling from what ever she flew off with.
Looked like a bird nestover to me...
Do Tigers Like Catnip?
Hello.
Kathryn, Hunter and Tom came for dinner tonight. We're watching television now.
If the tiger video pauses on you, try moving the indicator at the bottom of the screen back so it starts over. There is a problem with the download speed--at least on my computer.
Great video, Paula!!!
Thanks for sharing the video, Paula. Yes, that did look like a bird nestover she carried away.
Only 1 osprey at BWO tonight
Tired tonight. Think I'll go upstairs and read. See you tomorrow. Good night all.
Shirley, loved the video of the big cats. I have catnip growing in the outside bed of my herb garden. Annie and the neighbor cats loved to roll on it.
I have some things to do before going back the hallway (which is going to be very shortly)
I need to get up earlier than I usually do ........ so
Good Night To Everyone
Prayers for Everyone(Sent Karen a card)
Hugs of Love for Everyone ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Watching Army Wives......
And now heading for tub. Early morning for me, too. Have to meet the girls at 12 for lunch and shopping outing. Sweet dreams. Prayers for all. Margy, have a good night. Jo---I sent June an email asking about Karen tonight. Great minds......G'night.
Hi, Everyone,
Getting here a bit late; have been watching 'Whale Wars'.
Hitting the hay here, too.
Have a good evening, see ya tomorrow!
Hugs to all ♥
Having a hard time getting Jacob to settle down tonight. He is not wanting to sleep alone. Where did that come from...he always does!
He just cried out again. Hope we do not have a rough night.
Heading to the shower!
Nite all! Sweet dreams!
Nighty Night Everyone...
hope it is a night of sweet sleep
off to work for me
Great Video Paula...
xo
Loved the Catnip & Big Cats video, Shirley...and Paula's video of Belle made me want to rush down to the nest and see if I could recover that feather that was carried out...looked like it could have been an adult eagle feather. Whatever it was, Belle acted as if she couldn't get it out of there fast enough:)
GOOD NIGHT ALL MY FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Goodness, gracious......do we have a bunch of sleepy head this AM????
Can tell that it's Aug.---very foggy morning, little webbies all over the ground.
Been up for 2 hrs. Papers read, hair washed, breakfast eaten, emails read, and caught up here......
GOOD MORNING...
Time for a Panda Nap, Lynn:)
It is 72° right now, here in Nestville, going up to 89°. Not too bad after all those highs in the 98-99-100° days!
Good morning!
Getting ready to post Morning Glory pics on my blog....
GO FOR IT LYNNE...GG finally has some bloom on her Morning Glories. Groundhogs and deer have been dining on them all season. I put a small amout of netting over them and now, at least some of them will bloom:)
Ok, the pictures are on.
Shirley, prayers for a clear mamo today!
Very sad about the GHO, Lynn, I hope it didn't suffer too long.
Nope, Wanda, no panda nap....have to be outta here by 11:45!
Good morning.
Trying to wake up with a cup of coffee.
hey Lynn, how about that jaw dropper ending on Army Wives last night....
Thanks for all of the kind words, everybody. My appointment is at 1:00.
Yeah, Lynne.....since there was no chaplain and she said "situation", I would say he's either MIA or a hostage! Only one more episode this season! :(
yep, and you just know they'll leave us hanging until next season!
off to run some errands....
SHIRLEY...♥
LYNNE...Good job with the morning glories...GG will be happy to see your healty plant, blooming:)
LYNN...enjoy time with your daughters:)
Good early morning to all from me....
Like Hedgie I too am headed out for a couple hours this am.
I just took my last prescribed tablet of prednisone - Pulmonary Doc wants to see how I do... Guess I'll keep a journal.
Lolly, I hope Jacob slept well for you
Loved seeing Paula's video last evening. Made me realize how much I miss our Eagles - especially our screaming Palmer.
I'll touch base when I return this afternoon..... Take care & make it a good day.
Internet Slang Dictionary
Needed to look a term I came across in FB. Thought someone might be interested.
. . . look up a term . . .
Yep, Lolly, they ARE growing up!
Jo, do you see the Dr. today?
Cool site, Shirley! Think we can get any on our kids????
Just found one of my plates in the trash can. A perfectly good plate. (Not a paper plate!) Was I that tired last night? Am I the one who put it there?
?????????????????????????????????????
It might help me translate some of the notes that I pick up at school.
Sometimes they are written in that lingo.
Good morning, everyone.
Shirley - positive thoughts for you.
Off to do a chore or two.
OMG - As The Plate Turns!
Well, time to do hair and get dressed. Talk to you all this evening!!! Make it a good day.
Judie, so sorry about your friends MIL. Ouch!
I wish.
I have not friended any of my students!
Hello my eagle budlets!
How is everybody?? I have missed you.
You are right about not telling them everything I know, Wanda. It is good to be mysterious about some things.
Morning, Sharon. Good weekend?
Seems it rained most of our weekend, and that is a GOOD thing!
Getting used to the quiet house again. I worked for a few hours yesterday too.

GooD morning
for a great Monday
tO you.

GOOD MORNING, JIM...feeling pretty good, today, are you!?
It was so beautiful here about 2 hours ago...72°...now it is 87° and really muggy from all the rain we had over the weekend!
C(°?°)3 Jim
Lot of errands to run today and have to check in on GG. This is my day off...want to pay her a surprise visit and see what she gets into when I'm not there:)
Hi, Wanda. Yes, I'm feeling well, TG.
It's a fairly bright 65° here in So CAL right now, but it will be in the 80 region this afternoon.
C(°?°)3 Jim
Hope GG is fine when you check on her, Wanda.
Hi, Sharon. Good to see you again.
About ready to leave for the appointment. Will and George will hold down the fort here.
I'm outta here too. Got to do things I should have on the weekend, when I was actually watching the PGA Championship.
Hahaha.
C(°?°)3 Jim
Happy Monday!
Great video by Paula.
Need to go in to work for a couple--Later ☺
Have fun spending money on the gd and school shopping. Maybe you will find something for yourself.
Did NOT have dr visit - in fact don't have any the rest of the month. It was just an errand run with hubby.
I sure hope GG doesn't get offended Wanda about your surprise visit BUT I would also want to know what goes on during your day off! Maybe you need a
hidden camera but then that invades a person's privacy - don't know if mothers count or not!
Hello there - Eagle Eye! Miss you on here but keep up with you on FB.
It took me quite a while to get use to "quiet". The quiet will just make the visits all the more special! loL
I have finished lunch and my feet are going up..........
It is sooooooooooooooo humid outside.
BBILW
Icky sticky for sure out there...
I was missing my ice cream scoop. Looked and looked. Finally asked the kid. Yup, he swiped it!
Keep getting errors on here...
Sure hope GG is behaving herself today!
oh my GOSH I just saw a monarch attempting to lay eggs on my milkweed!! She was fluttering all around the leaves, trying to get to the underside of some, and when she did, she stuck her little backside onto it! I didn't see the egg, though. Maybe she missed. Hope she comes back!
Have some tiny babies on my Megan Butterfly Weed now too!
windy and dark at the nest. Little storm cell nearby.
Hope to hear from Shirley soon.
I haven't had a chance to check this out yet, but it looks interesting...it's an online bird magazine from Cornell.
Cornell online magazine
Good afternoon everyone. Lynne you sure are having a hard time lately. Better days ahead for you.
Paula, I have several ice cream scoops and would be glad to loan you one or 2.
Best of luck for Shirley today.
Magpie, have a good night.
Lolly is having fun, fun, fun with the grandkids.
Max & Mommy took a nap this afternoon and woke up grouches, so they walked over to the park with big brother. Jim & I had a short reprieve - THEY'RE BACK. :D
Started to thunder they said. We are expecting storms - again.
saw those storms heading your way Diann, stay safe.
Looks like the storms will miss us this time.
Up and about and getting leftovers ready for dinner.
I wonder if Belle will make another visit this evening? My live feed will be up but she is so quiet.
I am waiting for a report from
Pennyless Lynn !
BBILW
Hi, Everyone,
Oh, my, I have been SO sleepy again today!
We are in our 16th day over 100. Have I said in the last day or two I hate August?
Hi,
Just checking in.
Thanks for the concern you all have expressed.
BBL.
Lolly saw the giraffe pic on FB - very exciting for you as well as the boys.
Shirley - isn't tomorrow your first day to return to school.. you'll be too excited to sleep tonight if it is.
Hubby and I are headed for a quick trip to Wally World
BBILW
oh Andy, how frustrating! You know, I am sure everything is fine, but once some negative test results were NOT given to me, and I have told every Dr since then that I don't want to hear "no news is good news". As far as I am concerned, no news is NO NEWS. Period.
Shirley, glad to hear from you and that all is well!
Yes, Jo, tomorrow is the first teacher work day for me.
Just got back from Home Depot, Wally World, Target. That is why I am so tired. Nobody had belts for a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Going to order online.
Andy, I understand your frustration.
I hope you get your information soon.
Howdy, all.
Ended up with 1/4 inch of rain or so...grass starting to look greener
I have returned from Wally World and the temp is too high for comfort. We
didn't get any rain whatsoever. It could storm but I think it is headed to the north.
Yum, good dinner! Beer battered fish w/ homemade tarter sauce! Been craving it!
Off to check some t.v. BBL
ARGH!
Shirley, know you are relieved----always have that little niggling fear of recurrence, don't we?? Only natural.
Beer batter fish sure sounds wonderful!
I had cold cereal....
glad to hear things went okay Shirley...and Best Wishes on your school day tomorrow....
Diann...I woke up grouchy this afternoon also !
Glad you have your little Max visiting though...
Good Evening Eagle Pals !
Welcome home Hedgie...
sounds like Christmas in August
picked up a paperback at a yard sale last week for 25 cents
The Bad Words Dictionary
by Voy Sobon, with six languages
pretty crazy little book, checked ebay to see if any more are available
get this
new: $252.00
almost new: $121
Have to check out that Slang Dictionary link Shirley posted earlier...
not all the words are bad
dude and dweeb are in there
those ebay books are paperbook also...
mine is not in very good condition but if it was...
I could make a down payment on a new computer !
Andrea, sure wish your docs could give you the information you are asking for
glad Lynn and Lynne found lost things, Paula found the ice cream scoop culprit, and hope that Shirley finds the rest of her keys !
pretty avatar, Loretta !
hope that Wanda found GG to be doing well on her "day off " -
I need to catch a few more winks before midnight shift..
BUT
I am back on days for Sept and Oct, so I might be able to make the Open House and BOTH dinners...
that makes for a happy magpie
ttfn
xoxo
BBL Off to the TV
Good news, Margy! Glad to hear it!!
And days for two months is super!
I missed it---who had beer batter fish? Love it---used to make it a lot many moons ago!
Nice magazine, Paula. TY.
Andy, keep pressing for those results---even tho' I'm sure it's not strep or you would be MUCH sicker now.
Lynn, I made the beer batter fish!
Glad I'm not school shopping yet!! Wowser!
Andy, I agree, call call call for the results.
Margy, glad you got days for October, sure hope you can make it to Open House.
Bacon Pasta, might have to make some of that soon, too!
Diann, enjoy your time with Max!
Judie and Shirley, sorry school is starting up again so soon! What ever happened to after Labor Day?
still have hummers battling over the feeder here...they are really sucking it dry!
I wanna be adopted -- by Lynn.
Sorry, can't type---weather
Got an email from June, Karen's friend. She is still dealing with some thrush issues in her mouth and having troubleeating, but they did get her mother into an assisted living facility.
Oh, Paula, hope you enjoyed your fish. And Bacon Pasta at Camp Hawkwood---lots of goodies!
Loretta, sounds like the wrens are growing really fast! Hope your tummy feels better.
LOL- Judie......bought my mom a new car as a birthday surprise present back in '96.....all of the old ladies in her "widows club" in FL wanted to adopt me then!!
No rain here, either, today. Drove in light rain for a mile and a half in Ranson...and that's all.
Margy, can't wait to see you at those dinners in October.
Good that Karen's mother has gotten into an assisted living facility.
I did doze for awhile, but I am ready to go upstairs. I think I could have gone right up to sleep long ago.
See you tomorrow. Good night and God bless.
Oh, Lynn...I made GG some Tortilla Encrusted Tilapia for supper:)
I had to leave before she ate it, so I don't know if she liked it or not.
Love the wren stories Lorretta...keep 'em coming!
Prayers for all and have a good night!
Shirley and Candy....if you gals check in: Best of luck on your first day back in the classroom. Sorry your summers are at an end.
They have already asked what is for dinner tomorrow night. lol
I understand what you are saying, Lolly......but those are only fleeting thoughts, I'm sure!
Wanda....another idea......did you print out a confirmation of that payment??? Or save it in your online mailbox????
Well I did watch 2 shows and then the news and weather.... HOT HOT HOT
Headed for la la land
Good Night Everyone
Prayers for Everyone
Hug for Everyone ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Well, I am starting to fall asleep. Time to put it to bed.
Great video of Lily and Hope!
Nite all! Sweet dreams!
Good Night you Precious Pals...left just enough time to blitz through the posts...
but not enuf time to gab about them!
Care about you all very very much....
Sleep Well....
off to work....last night WAS quiet, your wishes worked!
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxox ♥
Well I'll wish for you that it's quiet again tonight, Margy!
The Hope/Lily video psoted today is wonderfully heartwarming!
Time to drag this tired gal to the tub and bed.
Sleep well. Prayers for all. See you tomorrow!
Good Evening, Everyone!
Here it is, late again...headed to bed:)
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS

[:~D] Jim
Good morning!
Have a good day. I will be heading to Culpeper soon.
See you later.
Oh, forgot my manners. I plead two of the seven dwarfs -- sleepy and dopey.
Good morning, everyone.
Good morning to very early bird, Jim.
Wishing everyone a lovely morning.
Morning, all!
If I am not mistaken, I think the sound is back on at the cam.
But have been a bit remiss in my housework lately with the summer blahs...so quick clean up in the works!
Take care get well
Andy.
Well a few
beans of some kinds. Definitely no peppers! I'll have to read back if have time about what the language barrier is.
I haven't been on re-arranging my meds
puts me down for a couple of days. I'm starting to feel like I'm adjusting. So today I'm going to try and run some errands later.
Oh I see either Lib or Belle was at
the nest. Reading more in comments. (:
So happy people comment on here. I
can't always get to facebook. Thank you all.
Good Morning to everyone. Waiting for daughter to be here - My Tuesday
I think it is super great that Lynn is becoming a "webmaster" and for such a worthwhile cause.
I am just getting the buzz on the live feed... How in the world are we going to tell if the sound is on without a
visit from our 'Screaming Palmer'
Shirley & Candy - thinking of you two as Life goes on! Pray you both have a good year ahead.
Wanda - such wise thinking for a second crop! Very happy with GG's attitude!
Oh goodie Margy is going to possibly make the Oct. dinner yay yay yay yay
Wondering the outcome of Lolly's drive through animal park on Monday. My Mom and Dad went to one. The car ahead of them was being shook by an elephant......Dad said to Mom,
"We've seen enough and went around real fast and got the heck out of there". LOL I can just imiage the look on their faces.
Oh my Paula thank you so so much. Getting to see Belle doing her housekeeping. So folks but it did bring tears to my eyes. She is so
beautiful and knows we still are looking for them. Thank you Paula it did my heart so good. Smiling from video. (:
Hi Dana
Take care in your travels
It is another extremely hot one out there..........
Well Mom and Dad also went to the movies which they normally did not do.
Remember this was way back when this movie first came out. The seen it in
the newspaper Deliverance. They thought it was a "Biblical Movie". Of course they got up and walk out after getting the shock of their life.
Lynne hang in there. One door closes and another door opens. You can see that by what Hedgie's daughter went through. Now she is a 911 operator.
Prayers you find that open door.
Thanks Shirley for posting Big Cats on catnip. That was great!! Wouldn't it be neat while at a zoo they did that. Of course, Kids would just love it.
Need to start getting ready. Haven't read all commment on other thread. Have to catch up on some of those later.
I check in before I leave.
Have a good day everyone.(:
Hi there Mema Jo----lady you be careful out there. It is going to be a hot one your right.
I'm here....I'm done except for lunch and make-up! Wow.....I'm pooped!
Will do my crossword puzzles now and get calmed down!
Lost phone again...luckily it only lasted about 15 mins. Whew....thought I was going to have to call the gal and postpone webpage session!!
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Good MOrninG, aLL.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
I've been up and down a couple of times this morning...head and chest cold and tossing and turning; so I don't know if I'm early or late today.
It's in the mid 70° already, and will go at least another 10° yet.
There have been Hooded Crows on and off the Finney-by-sea nest this A.M.
C(°ٿ°)D Jim
There's nobody home at WE, but you can see they are building up the nest again. They've got sticks outlining the extension covering most of the rocky area too.
It used to cover all or most of the rock before the slide last year, so they will be using it again, and they're rebuilding to about the size it was earlier.
C(°ٿ°)D Jim
Gal should be coming any minte. Later, gators.
Oh Jim, good news the WE is being rebuilt. Good sign, yes?
Judie, you've been a busy bee today, too! Are you feeling better??? Are the new meds working better and without the effects of the old ones?
Yes, Jim, hope you get over your bug soon. Seems to be going around.
Grrrr!
Judie, what was the missing ingredient from your ribs recipe? I want to pass it on to Will. He is my ribs chef here.
Pardon me, I forgot to greet everyone.
Good evening, everyone.
Whew!
Lolly, how many students does Laurel have in her class?
I haven't gotten my numbers yet, but our English Department lost one teacher because of budget issues.
Candy said her day was really good, too! Sure hope that it is a successful, pleasant year for all teachers and students.
I am not sure about the numbers, Shirley. I do know one class has close to 30. 30 6th graders!!! Yikes! She does not even have that many desks.
I am getting the same message in IE and FF, so I sent an email to Outdoor Channel
Still cam is working
Funny, it was still up and running at work right before I left at 6:45
Paula, yep got the message. Downloaded....still same message. Guess I need to reboot, huh?
Wonder when the new cam will be installed...hope it is not wrapped up with Gorilla tape!:) Must be soon, apparently they have been working on it.
Will check out t.v. and BBL
Jim, hope you feel better soon!
Hello everyone.
I have been busier than a Texan on a pork chop. He he
I brought the empty nest up but there wasn't even an empty nest!
Shucks.
OD said I have to have some kinda flash player. Well, I think I already had that but I pushed it anyway.
I guess I'll have to be patient till everything is done and ready.
I checked out the WE nest. Looks like a do-over for sure.
Make over home edition.
Gianni is a real cutie, Paula.
Thanks for the comments on Gianni...yup, she is a real smiler now :)
Wanda - hookin her up with an older man already! LOL
So relieved John is Okay Paula...
so sorry to read of the accident....
Oh dear, Paula. I hope everything works out okay for John.
Just talked to John, he's OK.
I know you appreciate John's taking time to talk with you tonight to relieve your concerns, Paula.
My brain is very tired.
Busy Busy Busy, that's what my synopsis is for the day's activities with you folks...
Hoping that Jim feels better soon...happy to hear those beautiful hooded crows made an appearance at Finney's -
Glad of that confirmed report that John is Okay, Paula..sorry the week has been tough for him even before this accident :(
Best wishes for all School Teachers...Here, There, and Everywhere
ttfn
xo ♥
back just before worktime if I can...xo
Get your fannies ready, we should be sliding into a Split soon...
I wonder if Jim meant Finland...
that's the water nest isn't it?
Not sure I can handle a split!
BBIALW
blogger ate my post!
Hope he won't be too sore tomorrow, Paula. I was plenty sore after my two accidents.
He has a beautiful family...time for the SNIP! LOL
We had one clap of thunder and one or two drops of rain. That pop up shower missed us. Sob!
Boys are in bed. We had fun at the Museum of Science and History in Fort Worth. Put some pics on fb. Did you see our t-shirts?
Oh No!!!! Split................!
