Good Wednesday morning Thanks Steve for the new thread - Suppose to be a very hot one today - I sure hope the storm down in VA is headed our way, Shirley.
Oh, no, Shirley...you sure don't need that kind of complication now! BUT.....if you should have to replace---heaven forbid---there something like a $7500 tax rebate for "green".
Thanks, Lynn. I couldn't find the Darth link last night.
I hear the cicada. Must be sitting right next to the microphone.
Going to search for air conditioning repair places. We had a problem with the system several years ago. It quit on a very cold Thanksgiving weekend, and I had major problems getting someone to come out. We had to go out and buy space heaters. I finally found a company that was very near here. I hope they are still in business.
Air conditioning people can come tomorrow between 1:00 and 4:00. Keep your fingers crossed. I hope the system holds out for now.
I can tell you that if I got desperate enough, I would buy a window unit and then sell it. Will turned the system off last night, so it is hard to tell if it is working properly. It was about 75 degrees downstairs this morning, so that was okay. It was probably in the 80's upstairs.
We could also go to Kathryn's if it got unbearable here.
They said they were last here in 2002, so I am certainly overdue for a check-up anyway. I had planned to call them earlier in the summer. Too bad I didn't.
Shirley - do you or Will think it could just be that the vent filter needs changing? Would be great if that is all it was. We had to have ours checked and it needed freon. Lynn - thank you so much for posting the link from last evening so we could witness Frank's aka Darth's debut! It was great coverage for their neighborhood.
I changed the filters and vacuumed out the vents very recently--maybe 2 weeks ago. Will said the heat pump is running. It seemed to me that the air coming out is not quite cool enough.
Good morning! Just met Darth! ☺ Now a few more should make the news, so I can meet them as well. lol
Going to be a day of doing nothing much. Yea! Yesterday's shopping and cooking really wore me out. However, we were very successful finding the boys clothes at one store..Kohls. Also, got Laurel some new clothes as well. I always liked new clothes for the first week of school. Helps with having a positive attitude! ☺
Heading out now to water some plants. This weather is just cooking everything. I literally hate August. I dislike the intolerable heat, school starts, and I have lots of bad memories of August. Let's get it over with!!!!!
Oh....have a great day! Please excuse my attitude! Prayers for Megan and her flowers. And, Lynne, so sorry about your back. I can sympathize.
What is it about our backs that plague so many of us? I guess we missuse it so much during our "Good Years":( Sorry, Lynne, that you have to miss Irvine, today...I know they will miss having you there!
Have a great day everyone...much to do here and there.
Shirley I hope the freon just needs a boost! Hi Lolly and Hi Wanda! I agree about school starting with sweltering temps! No fun! Judie - I think the other Dadsters will enjoy have Darth with all of us! I agree with Wanda - bring him on..
I am waiting for Alexis to come... like I said fun-fun-fun!
Also, we are still talking about coming up for the Open House in October. I checked accommodations at the Clarion and they are full. What else is close OR what is the closest campground in the area?? That would be a wonderful time of year to camp when it's cooling off outside. mmmmmmmm CAMP FIRE
I have some campground info that you lovely ladies provided a couple months ago. Not sure what is the closest.
Prayers Tracey get there in time and they can spend a short time together. Also Charlie's brother keeping in prayer and for family.
Go Darth--Judie you can't compete with your husband of "HIGH SOCIETY" (:
Prayers for Karen, Karen's mother, and Karen's wonderful friend June.
Had to take a pill dr. said a whole one. I've been cutting in half. So 2 hrs. ago I took the whole one. Head ready to hit table. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I'm out of here.
IF ANYONE TALKS TO MEGAN I NEED HER TO CALL ME PLEASE AND tHANK YOU.
WV sUSan---would be great if you can come for Open House. The Comfort Inn in Shepherdstown might still have available rooms. Many are staying there. There is also the KOA Campground in Harpers' Ferry, which is where Lolly and Jack are staying. Most definitely a good time to camp---as long as you aren't tenting it! Last year, we had rain all day that Sat. If you are coming, please let me know w/ names, cell number, where staying and whether joining for dinner Fri. & Sat. or just one or the other! Thanks.
We are staying at the Comfort Inn. The Clarion has been filled up for some time. I would not wait long to make reservations. If I had a camper, I would love to be at a campground.
i WAS right about Finney yesterday, I think. I think she has migrated back south.
All I've seen lately is Dad and the younger, male, fledgling. Dad's giving flying, fishing and nest guard lessons, and Junior is watching intently and copying everything.
I'm not sure if the female fledgling has left yet...saw her last evening, but there's been no sign of her so far today.
Prayers for Charlie's brother, Lynn. How awful. Hope he is on the road to recovery soon.
WOW, Just watched the handsome Darth on video!! Baltimore had the same thing last night.
oooooo Shirley, not a good day to have A/C problems but glad you have a contingency plan worked out! Glad they can get there tomorrow...some friends of mine had to wait several days.
Wanda...can't wait for the good news on GG's day alone yesterday!
WV sUSAn....mmmmmm campfire good indeed!
Anyone heard from Norma??
Asked Walmart employee on cell phone for some help and she turned away without giving me a second look.
Back feels a little better but trying not to overdo today.
Thanks for update, Lynne. That is Loretta's naturalist Greg!! Still concerned for the one not rescued, but if perched on boathouse guess he/she learned to fly really quickly! Nope---no word from Norma. I'll call her soon and see what is up with her! Hi, Jim---bye, Jim! Best wishes to the Finney momma in her journey!
I e-mailed Kathryn about the air conditioner, and she has already e-mailed and called me. Hunter's football coach runs an air conditioning place; I can call on him if necessary.
stronghunter -- just checked KOA and their cabins are booked. I'm shocked. I'm a tent camper anyway but $50 a night to tent camp there seems a little pricey. wow
Susan, sorry you are having problems with finding a camping spot. Jack and I have had reservations for some time now at the KOA Harpers Ferry. Wonder if where we stayed last 2 years ago has tent camping spots? Never can remember the name. Lynn...you know the name. Check on tent sites there.
I went out at 10 and ended up working almost three hours outside. Came in drenched and plan to stay in now. Jack is out in his air conditioned shop. He is working on a bookcase for Laurel's classroom. Also, I have an order in for a name train for a new expected baby.
Guess I will go make repairs to myself and do some laundry.
That Maple tree campground is just off rt. 67 that takes you into Boonsboro, it's an exit off 340. Never camped there, know people who have years ago, it's a nice area.
Dana, I sent you an email. I can't always hear my phone ring or just don't have it on me when I'm outside. I have no plants for sale this time of year. Hello all:)
Hedgie -- I will certainly let you know as soon as we can make a commitment. I want so badly to come but it's a pretty long trip for a quick wkend stay. A solid 5 hr drive to Shepherdstown. ouch
I think I'm spoiled. I'm used to camping for $20/night and $25/night will get ya water AND power. hahahaha AND with a shower house. Oh, yes, I'm spoiled all right.
Will keep checking and will also keep Comfort Inn in mind. That looks like THE place. Thanks to all for the input.
Action in the nest has declined a great deal with the departure of the young eagle. We plan on going up in the nest sometime later in the month to install a new HD camera, an improved camera mount and other equipment. Keep an eye out for our adults, who are occasionally visiting the nest.
Susan----the one Lolly mentioned is Falling Waters Campsite just outside Martinsburg----but don't know if they have any tent sites. There is also Yogi Bear's Jellystone Campground just across the Potomac River in Williamsport, MD. They have tent camping. Jellystone MD
Lynne, which one gives you trouble with nails?? Cinnamon has just gotten SO bad in the last year. Always took two people but now it takes muzzling, and professional-grade clippers, and styptic stuff. Her nails grow SO fast, and are So thick and tend to curve. We go every 2-3 weeks. And her BP goes up so that her blood thins and she bleeds from half of them. Had a SharPei who had to be anesthetized----she was so paranoid that she would even let the anal gland release if we tried to cut them ourselves. Awful.
Good update, Paula. Missed it this morning when I brought up cam.
It is really very exciting about the new cam. Wow, to have a good clear picture with color would be just awesome.
Thanks Lynn. Why can I not remember Falling Waters? I am saying it outloud and going to try to remember. Duh!
Yes, I am all for showers when camping. However, for years we tent camped in Colorado. We did sponge baths in the tent and once during the week we would go to town to the laundry that had showers. Oh, so wonderful! But, the ground go harder as I got older. lol Love my trailer now!!! Hope I love it after 5 to 6 weeks this fall.
Lolly, 5 or 6 weeks is a breeze! We did it for 10 mos. while building our last house. House sold too fast......and building took much longer than expected. 3500 sq. ft. log home.
Our trailer lacks comfortable seating. Jack and I both miss our Lazy Boys! We have a sofa and a footstool and I lounge on the bed, but it is NOT our chairs!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BARB WILLARD!! Hope your day is a special one!
Getting here kinda late today--have been busy getting plants watered and bird feeders filled, and patio cleaned up. Have most of the indoor stuff done, too. Just dishes to do now.
Lynn, thanks for the link to Darth's TV appearance last night. Had forgotten that Neighborhood Watch started that many years ago.
Glad to hear that the rescued ospreys seem to be doing well.
Lynne, hope your back gets better, pronto! Prayers being said.
Left early this morning to do a few errands and grocery shopping. Nightmare heat. Putting my feet up until dinner time. Tuna sammiches -- too hot for anything else.
Lynn, need to read back but hope Charlie's brother is okay.
Happy Birthday, Barb. Nice to to meet you.
Shirley, hope the AC issue is easy and inexpensive. Weather like this you don't need that aggravation. Do you have a fan, maybe a floor fan, you could use, if needed?
So pleased several of you got to meet Darth. It was very busy for about an hour with t.v. and politicians and police. Kids really loved the "revamped" confiscated BMW convertible confiscated from a drug dealer. Um, I kind of liked it, too.
Hope you find a place to camp, Susan. I know everyone would love to have you at open house. Keep trying.
Wanda, please let us know about how GG managed without a visit. Sure hope she got along okay.
I think I need to be a momster's dog. I don't get pedicures. I wanna pedicure!
Hi Lynne and Dana and Jim.
Thank you Paula for the nest cam update. Anxious to see how it all works. Really good news.
Okay, off to put my feet up for about 45 min.
Oh, before I forget, I have an appt. with my primary at 7:30am Monday. Sure nothing will come of it but...
Yikes, it is getting pretty warm here. I may have to abandon the fort tonight. Last time I checked, it was 87 degrees in my bedroom.
Judie, I have ceiling fans upstairs and downstairs. They are going full blast. I do need to load the dishwasher, but I do not plan to run it. I have a load of laundry in the washer, but I think I will hang it. I haven't opened any windows because I don't think it would do anything but admit heat and humidity.
Kathryn and Tom have a huge fan they could let me use. The fan itself is something like four feet tall. It would be to big and heavy for me to carry upstairs.
Big line of storms heading through Cumberland and points west, heading east....Severe storm warnings posted between Cumberland and Hagerstown, Martinsburg. Watch for points east.
We have thunder, wind, very dark sky...but no rain. Excuse me while I go outside and dance until it starts raining or lightning, whichever comes first!
Before I get lost in TV Land... GG did so well yesterday, OWN HER OWN, that she wants to do it again tomorrow! She watered the garden, filled up the water barrel and picked some tomatoes and squash. She fixed her own supper...a tomato and cheese sammich and a bowl of Teriyaki noodles. Took all of her meds, as directed (as far as I could tell). She seemed so pleased with herself. Now, she wants to go to the Chinese restaurant and have Crab Legs Friday...WHOOPIE!!!
GG wanted to try Zucchini bread again, but said she is afraid she will ruin it again. Told her I'd help her.I'm not much of a baker, but I can read directions. I CAN bake, I just DON'T!
Great news about GG. So happy she was able to work outside a bit and fix her own dinner and take her meds. Things are lookin up up up.
OMG wind just picked up and I would swear I saw a recliner fly by with a teacher holding on for dear life. Wonder if she's on her way to take the old AC to a secret hiding place? Just look for the shiny garland -- no GPS needed.
I went to Bible study and rain was coming down so hard and strong, and as soon as the lightening would strike the thunder crashed. It was really close.
I ended up driving on a sidewalk. I don't know where it came from. It was a wide walk and I didn't realize it was for walking till I had to go off a curb to get back on the street.
Oh good grief! Just got a better look. The recliner does contain an English teacher. She's reading Gone With The Wind and she is watching reruns of In The Heat Of The Night. Her radio is playing Tie a Shiny Garland Round the Old AC. Amazing!
The first bald eagle to have been hatched in southern Vermont in more than a century has left its nest.
Vermont wildlife officials were watching a pair of nesting eagles in Rockingham. The egg was laid in June. The eaglet was recently spotted flying near the Connecticut River.
Vermont began re-introducing young eagles in 2004. The first nesting pair was confirmed in 2008. Vermont was the last of the lower 48 states to have nesting eagles return after their drastic decline in the 60s and 70s.
Some eaglets from Blackwater were transported to Vermont and release from hack towers there...who knows...this nesting pair could be from BW!!
Evening Everyone! Busy, busy, busy. This morning our sweetbay magnolia tree w/all the birdie accoutrements was like a circus! Normally we see just a boy or girl hummer & sometimes another girl.Usually they take turns at feeder. Today there were FIVE, all chasing each other, batting wings, spiralling almost to the deck!Hardly any got a sip! Meanwhile, Wrenny has been a little quiet as he's been delivering morsels to Ms. #W at the house! There must be something that hatched in there! Been hearing yellow-billed cuckoos both at Park & at Chelsea today.
Tee Hee~~~read some of comments. BEagle you are lucky you didn't have some trouble or get nabbed by the black & whites! Judie, I agree w/your assesment of Shirley. I can almost see it now, too! ☺ I wanna know Where Is the Rain??News earlier said "whole viewing area has chance of rain until 1AM!" I was out doing stuff until dark, but guessw I'll have to go out and do a raindance! At least the mosquitoes should be resting!
The Oregon eagles, if the eggs had made it, would have hatched around Apr 29-30...which sounds like the hatch date or thereabouts of the Vermont eaglet.
I went right out after dinner and worked in the yard for a while. Why it was down to the low 90's. A cool front! NOT, but better than 100. Sure wish I had storms in my area!!!
oh my goodness BEagle....thank God you are OK and no one was there! I hate driving in the rain, especially in strange places.
Loretta...funny about the hummers. We had serious hummingbird wars most of the morning at my feeder. Thinking next year I'll get more feeders!
Saw a monarch today at the milkweed...last time I saw one I found caterpillars a few days later....at first I thought it was another Great Spangled Fritillary but it was a Monarch. AND the GSF was back, too.
Well, we had LOTS of lightning and very little rain. I just don't get it. It looked so impressive on the radar. Poor Megan. Poor Daisy, too...she was so scared she took to her bed and didn't move for an hour. Dreading tomorrow because I may not be here during storms then. Not that I really hold or pet her, just kinda be in the room with her so she isn't alone.
Temp down to 77 but dewpoint very high at 73. No relief here from open windows. Not even a breeze.
Not to worry, Shirley. BEagle sticks to sidewalks so no danger of her catching you on the fly unless she gets a tail wind.
No storm here. Humidity is just beyond horrible. Wish we could all just have a nice gentle rain.
Have an early day tomorrow. Off to the big school house. New I.D., final online workshop, and a walk through for some new technology in my classroom.
Will check in when I can. Wishing everyone a peaceful night. Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for Shirley, if she decides to land her recliner in the dark, those headed back the hallway, to the tub, to the shower, to anywhere that is cool.
I made it through the Play Date with Alexis but I had to put my feet up for awhile. I have been watching the beautiful osprey Finney family. It's mom and her 2 chicks. Only see 1 osprey at BWO.
I hope everyone survives the heat No rain here in the valley but perhaps some may come tonight! Humidity is horrible.
I was really happy to hear about GG's day yesterday! That little lady sure has my prayers! I think that Jayden is the best 'pick her upper' that she could have. Of course all of the love she receives from the entire family is something beautiful.
Lynn, No, the exterminator wasn't back today--he'll be back on Friday, unless I hear a trap snap or I (literally) smell a rat before then. Checked outside, and nobody chewed where the hole was plugged with steel wool. That's a start.
Paula, Not your A/C too! That's rotten! Glad you got some rain tonight!
Wanda, That's a GREAT report on GG! Yaaay!
Shirley, Sleep well in your flying recliner! (Hope you fasten your seat belt!) Guess you're not in Kansas anymore! I'm with you and BEagle--excited about the new HD cam!
Judie, You are too funny! LOL :oD I'm with you, girlfriend! I wanna pedicure too! Zucchini bread sounds good--I love it!
Lynn, still praying for Charlie's brother. Lynne, still praying for Tracey and her dad, too.
Well, have a couple of TV shows to watch. Leaving the night light and the porch light on for others. Prayers have been said for everyone. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Sleep well, everyone, and have sweet dreams. Will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you guys! :o]
I'm following right behind. See all y'all tomorrow. Hope everyone stays cool....too bad the rain didn't benefit anyone. More chances tomorrow......believe it when I see it! Prayers for all.
Personal experience: When we kids couldn't get to sleep because of the heat (no A/C), we would take our sleeping bags and/or folding cots and head for the back yard (no back porch either). It was always "at least" 10° cooler back there, and the breeze was strong enough outside to do some good....
We would get to sleep far sooner and have some fun "camping out" besides.
Oh, Jim...my friends and I tried the camping out thing in a little "house" that we made out of our mothers discarded curtains, but we always chickened out...scary out there when lights went out in the house;)
Wanda, so happy to hear about GG's good day! Must put your mind at ease somewhat. ☺ Shirley, hope your screens are in so you won't float out the window in your recliner! About time to hit the hay when my TV show is over~~~so Pleasant Feather Dreams to all ;>)
Oh, yes, Loretta...my mind has been put at ease so much, I feel like I'm dreaming. GG has progressed so much in the past couple of months...just a miracle! Nite.

Good morning,
Thanks for the new thread, Steve. And thanks for the call-over, Jo.
Prayers for Charlie's brother, Lynn.
Will thinks our air conditioning isn't working properly. Something that needs to be checked out for sure. It is comfortable right now.
Happy birthday, Barb!
Hey, Judie! Found the Ch. 5 story!!

Hi there, Lolly, Wanda, Jo and Jim!! Good to "see" your smiling faces.
Hello to all this fine day. I had to jump over here because I hadn't seen any emails floating around and got worried.
Also, got message from Chrissy on a blog saying that she is still having 'puter problems and hoping to get it fixed soon.

The KOA looks very nice, and they have cabins.

Osprey

Nope---no word from Norma. I'll call her soon and see what is up with her!
Hi, Jim---bye, Jim! Best wishes to the Finney momma in her journey!
Thanks for the osprey link, Lynne.
We had quite a noisy storm here very early this morning. Lots of rain and loud thunder with bright flashes of lightning.
Lynne, you should call WalMart and complain. Totally unacceptable for an "associate" as they call them to do that.
I e-mailed Kathryn about the air conditioner, and she has already e-mailed and called me. Hunter's football coach runs an air conditioning place; I can call on him if necessary.
I think I am pretty well covered.
BBL. Time for this silly dog to go get her pedicure. What a pain it is to have a stubborn dog!
stronghunter -- just checked KOA and their cabins are booked. I'm shocked. I'm a tent camper anyway but $50 a night to tent camp there seems a little pricey. wow
wow -- just checked Harpers Ferry Campground and it was $35 + tax for a primitive site. Not even a shower on the grounds. DAG

I don't know anything about this campground but worth a look, not too far from S'town
Maple Tree Campground
$50 a night for camping....whew! Where we go it's $15 for primitive with improved camp pad and only $5 in the forest.
Oh, wow! Do not know much about the camp ground but their web site is truly cool! Loved it!
I read where Maple Tree charges $10 per person or $25 min. per night.
That Maple tree campground is just off rt. 67 that takes you into Boonsboro, it's an exit off 340. Never camped there, know people who have years ago, it's a nice area.

Action in the nest has declined a great deal with the departure of the young eagle. We plan on going up in the nest sometime later in the month to install a new HD camera, an improved camera mount and other equipment. Keep an eye out for our adults, who are occasionally visiting the nest.
Isn't that a cool website?? I love the sounds!
Lynn, funny Cinny is getting a pedi today. I spent ONE HOUR getting Daisy's done today. She is really bad.
Very interesting update Paula....can't wait!!

Hope I love it after 5 to 6 weeks this fall.
got
Happy Belated birthday to Memphis Zoo's Ya Ya---10 yrs. old yesterday!
Lolly, 5 or 6 weeks is a breeze! We did it for 10 mos. while building our last house. House sold too fast......and building took much longer than expected. 3500 sq. ft. log home.
But had advantage of being on the remote site preventing theft or vandalism.
Our trailer lacks comfortable seating. Jack and I both miss our Lazy Boys! We have a sofa and a footstool and I lounge on the bed, but it is NOT our chairs!
Hi, Everyone,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BARB WILLARD!!
Good late afternoon or early evening.
Oh, almost forgot something else. Tomorrow is Diego's birthday.
Bye
Yikes, it is getting pretty warm here. I may have to abandon the fort tonight. Last time I checked, it was 87 degrees in my bedroom.
Judie, I have ceiling fans upstairs and downstairs. They are going full blast. I do need to load the dishwasher, but I do not plan to run it. I have a load of laundry in the washer, but I think I will hang it. I haven't opened any windows because I don't think it would do anything but admit heat and humidity.
Judie, it was nice to see your neighborhood celebration and listen to Darth's interview.
I sincerely hope you will get satisfactory answers from your doctor, Judie.
Kathryn and Tom have a huge fan they could let me use. The fan itself is something like four feet tall. It would be to big and heavy for me to carry upstairs.
Not gonna go outdoors to hang laundry. It is just too hot out there. Will hang things indoors.
Shirley, get the fan and sleep in the recliner.
Gosh, heat is frying my brain. Thank you Lynn for the t.v. link.
Off to the kitchen.
Just had a severe thunderstorm watch. My alarm went off.
I don't want the severe part, but a cooling rainstorm would be just fine with me. Might want to dance in it.
That fan might be big enough to lift my house off the ground. You will know I borrowed it if you see me and my house fly by.
We are under a severe storm watch until 11 tonight----as is the entire metro area. Stay safe everyone!! Be ready to take cover if needed!
Shirely, a storm would help cool things off.....but sure hope power doesn't get knocked out for ANYONE!
Hi, Gang,
Ran off to get a big mug of coffee.
Forgot some this morning!
Lynn, hope Charlie's brother improves in a HURRY! Prayers being said.
Prayers, too, for Lynne's friend, Tracey, and for Tracey's dad. A terribly difficult situation.
Judie, hope your Dr. can sort it all out, and come up with some good answers for you!...Know how that goes.
Shirley, hope there's an inexpensive fix for your A/C! Yikes! Why do A/Cs have such lousy timing?!
Well, Hubby should be home very soon, so guess I'll say bye until a bit later, after dinner. Have a good evening! :o]
Shirley, you just fed Judie fodder for another great mystery!!!
Storms hitting Norma now, as well as Loretta's friends in PawPaw.....heading this way.
It's Daisy that's the problem Lynn.
Big line of storms heading through Cumberland and points west, heading east....Severe storm warnings posted between Cumberland and Hagerstown, Martinsburg. Watch for points east.
oops, I see I'm the last to know!
Andy, did exterminator come back today?
Lynn, I am wishing for a cooling rain, not a violent storm.
Happy Birthday, Barb.
Have to check out The Darth Video!
I sympathize with the non working AC, Shirley. Our AC at work went out today, might be Friday or Monday before they can look at it
Rain would be welcome. Drove home on some wet roads, but it didn't rain here.
Wind is picking up, getting dark and hearing thunder, so shutting down for now. BBL.
Lynne, thanks for the osprey update. Sorry you back is bothering you. Hope Tracy makes it in time to see her Dad.
Might get hit with a pop up storm before the main stuff gets here. Starting to get breezy at the nest.
We have thunder, wind, very dark sky...but no rain. Excuse me while I go outside and dance until it starts raining or lightning, whichever comes first!
I'M DANCING AS FAST AS I CAN!!!!
COME ON, MEGAN, HELP ME:)
WHOA, a house just blew by...Shirley must have turned her big fan on;)
According to Doppler Radar, it should be raining here in Nestville RIGHT NOW, but it is not! I'm so tired of DANCING!!
death in Cumberland, tree fell on a woman during storm
STAY INSIDE
Thunder lightening rain and power blinked twice!
Making zucchini bread for Michael tonight. Guess no doggie walk tonight. Nugz is sticking close.
Looks like it's almost there, Wanda. Big line of showers in Frederick County now.
Got laptop on battery...
GG wanted to try Zucchini bread again, but said she is afraid she will ruin it again. Told her I'd help her.I'm not much of a baker, but I can read directions.
I CAN bake, I just DON'T!
Oh Wanda, that is just wonderful news!
Hope so Paula, dancing so long my shoes are wearing out:)
Wh-e-e-e!!!
Flying high!!!
Storms are almost here.
Only heard a couple of drops at the nest :(
Storm passed us by. It is sprinkling just a little now, but probably not enough to benefit. Temp has dropped to 78°.
Wanda, good news on GG. She's quite a gal! As for the rain....guess you can stop dancing...but keep them handy for next opportunity. :(
We had 22 drops of rain here:(
Raining hard here. I opened a few windows, especially the ones opening onto the front porch.
Paula, I think you are going to be making zucchini bread in your dreams!!!
Hellloooooo! Is anybody there?
Lynn, pretty much know the recipe by heart! but I always double check...almost forgot the salt tonight!
Hi BEagle...we're home :)
Except, Shirley, LOL...but I guess she's in her house :)
I need to read back a little. Someone lost their AC.
A lot of zucchini bread on the menu.
I need to read back to see where the lovely sounds Lynne talked about..are.
Oh, I am very excited about the HD cam.
Wowwee!
My AC is down, BEagle.
I'm excited about the new cam, too.
I think I will survive the night. Might spend it in the recliner, though.
I wanna pedicure!
I wanna have zucchini bread!
Well, it rained long and hard on Chas. this evening. I did not go play in it. Lightening was too close :(
Panda cub born in wild in China
I went to Bible study and rain was coming down so hard and strong, and as soon as the lightening would strike the thunder crashed. It was really close.
I ended up driving on a sidewalk. I don't know where it came from. It was a wide walk and I didn't realize it was for walking till I had to go off a curb to get back on the street.
And I am a good driver...hey hey hey.
My tomato plant is bent now with the rain and the weight of the tomatoes. I wonder if the tomatoes will still grow and ripen.
Oh good grief! Just got a better look. The recliner does contain an English teacher. She's reading Gone With The Wind and she is watching reruns of In The Heat Of The Night. Her radio is playing Tie a Shiny Garland Round the Old AC. Amazing!
And now BEagle is driving on sidewalks. I think the bloggers need an open house -- soon!
As long as the stems don't break, BEagle, they should be OK. May want to stake them up some more.
Got a yen the other day for some s'mores...got the stuff tonight, and had two of 'em. Made them in the microwave, but they were still good!
Judie....you are a riot. rwlitf.
or raothfl

Tie a shiny garland...ROFL
One of those was
rolling all over the floor laughing.
BEagle...how on earth did you get on the sidewalk in the first place...I am slightly confused??
If your tomato plant didn't break, it will be OK...do you have it staked?

Rockingham, Vermont - August 4, 2010
I think the drive went to the right and I just going straight. The pavement turned from concrete to nicely laid brick like walkway.
No one was out walking though.
Hmmm....something wrong in that article...don't think the eagle egg was laid in June...or hatched then either!
....I just kept going straight....
is what I was supposed to say.
It is an interesting article about the eagles though Paula.
When were the OR eagles supposed to hatch. They were "way" later than all the others.
How interesting, Paula. I was going to say-----quick hatch and fledge!!! How cool to think that these could be BW eagles.
Judie, I KNEW you would get on the case right away!!
BEagle.....I know how those sidewalks can just jump up in front of your wheels in the rain!!! Be careful!
Love it, Judie. You are so funny.
I have opened some windows and it feels . . . well, it feels warmish.
You know, we did not have air conditioning until we moved here in 1980. Now we think we can't survive without it.
Boy, I hope they fix it tomorrow!!
Oh. I see. The eagles wouldn't be ready to fledge right now.
Dohhh.
So where is it that you were driving on the sidewalk, BEagle? I'll be avoiding that sidewalk.
Well, we did have a window unit in the bedroom.
Honestly, I am a good driver. Foreign territory baffles me at times.
I do brake for people and I do not..
DO not, DO NOT talk on a cell phone while driving!
Tee Hee~~~read some of comments.
BEagle you are lucky you didn't have some trouble or get nabbed by the black & whites!
Judie, I agree w/your assesment of Shirley. I can almost see it now, too! ☺
I wanna know Where Is the Rain??News earlier said "whole viewing area has chance of rain until 1AM!"
I was out doing stuff until dark, but guessw I'll have to go out and do a raindance! At least the mosquitoes should be resting!
The Oregon eagles, if the eggs had made it, would have hatched around Apr 29-30...which sounds like the hatch date or thereabouts of the Vermont eaglet.
So, as I understand it...Shirley has gone with the wind...though she is still warmish and BEagle what are you doing on a sidewalk??
Wanda has been dancing, dancing, dancing but it did not do any good.
Sounds like the only sane one is GG, who had a great day yesterday. Wonderful!!!
I went right out after dinner and worked in the yard for a while. Why it was down to the low 90's. A cool front! NOT, but better than 100. Sure wish I had storms in my area!!!
It sounds like they got their dates mixed up in Vermont.
Maybe it was Hidey up there!
Have been looking at Megan's pictures of her flowers on fb. They are just gorgeous!
Oh, Hidey wouldn't be ready for THAT yet.
dingbatosis.
oh my goodness BEagle....thank God you are OK and no one was there!
Time for the hay bales, body is tired mind is tired. I wish my appetite would follow in sequence.
Good night. You are in my prayers for a healthy and comfortable tomorrow.
♥
Dingbatosis....LOVE IT! Going to be my new favorite word!
So relieved to hear that GG did so well today!
My monarch chrysalises are a week old today. So sometime between Saturday and next Wed I should have 3 butterflies!!!
Lightning has finally stopped so I'm hitting the shower and heading in to log some zzzzzzs. Prayers for all and have a good night!
I hope everyone survives the heat
No rain here in the valley but perhaps
some may come tonight! Humidity is horrible.
Lynne my butterflies always hatched on the 10th day. May have something to do with the temps
I was really happy to hear about GG's
day yesterday! That little lady sure has my prayers! I think that Jayden is the best 'pick her upper' that she could have. Of course all of the love
she receives from the entire family is something beautiful.
Hitting the hay...try to stay cool folks...it's like a sauna out there for sure!
Love and hugs to all ♥
Hi, Gang,
Back to chat for a bit after dinner.
Lynn,
No, the exterminator wasn't back today--he'll be back on Friday, unless I hear a trap snap or I (literally) smell a rat before then. Checked outside, and nobody chewed where the hole was plugged with steel wool. That's a start.
Paula,
Not your A/C too! That's rotten! Glad you got some rain tonight!
Wanda,
That's a GREAT report on GG! Yaaay!
Shirley,
Sleep well in your flying recliner!
(Hope you fasten your seat belt!)
Guess you're not in Kansas anymore!
I'm with you and BEagle--excited about the new HD cam!
Judie,
You are too funny! LOL :oD
I'm with you, girlfriend!
Time for me to head back the hallway
Good night and prayers for all!
((hugs)) ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I'm following right behind. See all y'all tomorrow. Hope everyone stays cool....too bad the rain didn't benefit anyone. More chances tomorrow......believe it when I see it! Prayers for all.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Good night, everyone.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Personal experience:
When we kids couldn't get to sleep because of the heat (no A/C), we would take our sleeping bags and/or folding cots and head for the back yard (no back porch either). It was always "at least" 10° cooler back there, and the breeze was strong enough outside to do some good....
We would get to sleep far sooner and have some fun "camping out" besides.
C(°?°)3 Jim
Oh, Jim...my friends and I tried the camping out thing in a little "house" that we made out of our mothers discarded curtains, but we always chickened out...scary out there when lights went out in the house;)
Wanda, so happy to hear about GG's good day! Must put your mind at ease somewhat. ☺
Shirley, hope your screens are in so you won't float out the window in your recliner!
About time to hit the hay when my TV show is over~~~so Pleasant Feather Dreams to all ;>)
Always wished I was a boy, as a child, when it came to doing those kind of things!
Think I will join the rest of you and head for the bed.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
PRAYERS OF THANKS FOR MANY BLESSINGS
Oh, yes, Loretta...my mind has been put at ease so much, I feel like I'm dreaming. GG has progressed so much in the past couple of months...just a miracle!
Nite.
Time to call it quits!
Getting blurry eyed!
Sweet dreams!
Getting ready to decide whether to sleep upstairs tonight or on the recliner. I will check the upstairs. Maybe it has cooled down a bit.
See you tomorrow.
Good morning, everyone.
Off for a day at the school house.
There is a new Lily and Hope update.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and try to stay cool.
New Thread!!!
See you there.
WANDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!! My chrysalises are dark this morning and I can see the butterflies!!!!! How long before the emerge????
LYNNE...They will be hatching any time now...don't walk too far away!
