Ohhhhh, Wanda! Can not imagine a fever blister inside my nose. Owwweeee!!

Have done a little cleaning and got beautiful. A little make up and combing the hair does wonders. ha!

Rains still steadily coming down and temp still at 66. A cool rainy day. Feel like baking, but that is a no no.

I know, I know...still gotta work on pictures!

magpie said...

Jo it is probably wise you settle for sunsets, I don't hear YOU talking about falling asleep during evening television favorites.
☺ ♥

Lolly said...

Thanks you Margy. Went to my New England trip pictures, I have a lot, but thought this lone tree one was special.

magpie said...

Well if you read back you will see Lolly that I scolded you for planting pansies while suffering back woes ☺

So I am going to disappear before you catch up to that one.

xo back to cards...takes as long to put stickers and stamps on them as to get them made out.

GOOD AFTERNOON...

I am running a few days behind on my duties as co-chairman of the Raffle committee. As you may know by now, the prizes were wonderful as was the response to them by the large amount of ticket sales. I have already told all of you what the prizes were and who donated them, but there was an additionl donation brought to us by our own Bob Quinn. He donated a large amount of his prints, maybe 18 or 20, and one of the calendars that has 3 of his photos featured in it. He won his own calendar, put it back in to be re-gifted, and I WON IT! AUTOGRAPH AND ALL:)
The most coveted prize of the evening was a huge, wooden, carved eagle, donated by our Mema Jo. Mattie and I saved that to be the last prize of the evening. It was won by Sissy (Beverly). You have never seen such joy and excitement. Sissy probably didn't know she could jump so high!;)
The second most popular prize was an EAGLE THROW, donated by SUZ. Our Sandra wanted that so much and she did win it! So happy for her. We all love her and was so glad she could make it, with Jo's help. THANK YOU JO:)
The huge MYSTERY PRIZE donated by Iris (she wouldn't let us know what it was) was won by Capt. Gene, It was so big, it took Gene and Margy, together to open it. It was a beautiful bird book, probaby the size of the stone tablet that Moses carried down from the mountain, containing the 10 commandments!
We gave Mattie a book donated by Megan, "THE EAGLE LADY" for being so helpful ALL EVENING! She is a sweetheart!
Now, to the best part: from the proceeds of the Raffle, we donated $222.00 to The Wildlife Center of Va. for BUDDY BUCKS (remember our Norfolk eaglet with the deformed beak?)They have taken excellent care of him and will continue to.

Next: $110.00 went to Friends of Blackwater, Inc. (remember Snowy?)
at
Cambridge, Md. That would be the same BWO & BWE That we enjoy almost every day!

Thank you so much to everyone who made donations and purchased tickets to make this Raffle such a wonderful success. If you weren't able to participate this year...there is alway next year:)
Thank you and Bless you all!

Good afternoon, everyone.

Happy birthday, Tom.

Get well wishes for all those who are not feeling well OR have a blister in the nose. Speedy recovery, please!

Got my "do" did and now have to prepare for the police tomorrow night. Hear it is a good group from multiple jurisdictions and they are excited because we'll be covering serial killers. Still just can't quite get comfortable with a room full of GUNS! Videos for the regular students tomorrow so that's easy work.

Hope Andrea is having another special day with family.

Judie

Okay, off to study a bit.

Wanda

Bravo! Great commentary, and thanks to you and Gene, and ALL the contributors...what a Wild and Wonderful Week-end...even if one had to miss parts or all of it, the descriptions, pictures, and Oohs and Aaahs go a long way in filling in any gaps...

Yes, Margy, it was a WILD AND WONDERFUL weekend. I find myself smiling off and on all day with a picture that clicks into my minds of something funny or beautiful that happened while we were all together. So glad you were able to make it at least part of Saturday.

Margy, would never tell you all this, but when she finally came into the Party Room after she got off work...everyone cheered and applauded her! How's that for showing how much she is loved?:)

hedgie said...

Wanda, thanks for posting for all to see, enjoy and appreciate!
Shar---lovely view!! And Lolly, thought maybe it was a pecan tree until I read your explanation---very pretty.
I'm done for today---tomorrow is another day, as Scarlet would say! And most of what is left I can do with the mower where it doesn't matter if it's just mulched up!!!

hedgie said...

OMG!!!! Opening mail for retirees Christmas luncheon....widower of one is bringing a guest named ANNE LARSEN!!!!! Do you think our A-M could be holding out on us??? LOL! Same spelling---amzing coinky-dink!

magpie said...

It's the (Eaglet Momster) company I keep, Wanda...I keep trying to tell you all that ! ☺

Finally making it out the door...post office, and maybe some Swanging Bradge time, want to see some Hawks!

Glad you are finished your work Lynn, the outside work at least...I know how you are. ☺

I have started squashing instead of just scooping them back out the door.

Hubby just went down to pick up
Alexis before I take her to gymnastics.
Going to go to Cracker Barrel for dinner afterwards - The cleaning off of the Hutch last evening led to a cluttered dinning table & that is the reason I'm using to go out to eat! lol Meatloaf and sugarless apple pie HERE I COME!

I'll be back around 7 or 8:00
I sure hope I miss a visit that you all

I might have told you before that we have (had in the country) very stinky Stink Bugs out here in CA. But they are very different from yours apparently.

Ours are fairly large, shiny, black bettles, which walk the earth without taking flight, as far as I know. And when they are bothered or threatened, they hoist their rears into the air and let go with the most awful smelling chem spray you ever sniffed.

Seems to work on wild predators very well. They are more common in warm months, but I don't recall them swarming the area or anything.

Hi, Jim! Going to watch Diego exam!

Judie said...

Hi Jim.

Hi Jo, enjoy the gymnastics with Meatball AND the C.B. dinner.

Lynn, take it easy with that knee. Yard work can wait.

Hope I can make some time soon to find a SHEETZ store just in case I don't get laundry done.

Well, here I am again. Off to the fridge to seek inspiration.

"low-key kind of kid" and "pudgy and rotund"---all great descriptions of our roly-poly! His little whimpers sometimes sound human! Considering he is just now a little over the size of a human newborn, it's surprizing that he he is on par w/ a kid starting to stand and pull themselves up!

hedgie said...

Meggie, don't know how you work so hard and go so long between breakfast and lunch!!! You are quite a gal!!

Sometimes there's just no time for a break, schools come almost every hour. I did have a bag of chips and an apple earlier. I forgot to make a sandwich cause I was running late this morning.

Lolly said...

Ok, Jo! I am working on my pictures. They are finally loaded to the computer. Now working on getting them on the blog. Will yell when they are ready!

Jo, I am still working on loading pictures. You peeked too soon. LOL

Lolly said...

I am having all kinds of problems loading to my blog. Still working on it. If you hear a scream....it is me, letting off steam!

Costume Lady said...

Love the balloon pictures, Lolly. Do they make a lot of noise...can you feel heat from them?

Lolly said...

Have finally finished publishing pictures on the blog. Took me forever!

There are a few pictures of the balloons plus a few pictures from the Sante Fe Children's museum. Threw them in for fun.

Wanda, they are not too loud and yes, a little heat, but they only fire them up for a short period. Do not want to burn the balloon!

Everyone should try to go if they have the chance. It is so much fun!

Lolly said...

Pictures can be seen on Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Blog.

Dont forget to double click to really SEE the pictures. ha!

Lolly said...

Whoops! I pushed someone off the blog. Sorry!

hedgie said...

Thanks, Lolly...a lot of work there! Left comment for you!
Hmmm...just found my Christmas wish item...and told the kid....a device to transfer slide pics to computer! I ONLY have about 1000 of my daddy's slides!! Price very reasonable--$89.

Lolly said...

So that is on your wish list. If you get it let me know how it works. When our kids were little, that is all we took, slides. Have a closet full. Have told Jack I want them transferred to a DVD.

magpie said...

Oh Lolly, what a great bunch of pictures...☺

magpie said...

I made it out to Back Creek, did not see any hawks, but did see bluebirds, robins (overwintering ones I suppose), red-bellied woodpeckers, and a few kinds of sparrows and maybe a warbler I have to study to identify. The colors are out of this world...so many yellows! But the fragrance of the Fall is the best...sure it is mostly the Sycamores that make up this fragrance. ☺

magpie said...

So our Eagles completely gave us the slip today, didn't they ?

Lolly said...

Glad everyone is enjoying the pictures. I only took many many more. ha! Had to select a few. The Darth Vader balloon was Jacob's favorite. I liked the balloon with an attitude. lol

magpie said...

No Eagle balloons? But that Panda was out of this world!

Okay, hope some of you saw Baby Moon...it will get bigger every night now until full...
you might still get a glimpse.

Happy Birthday Again to Sissy's Tom !!

Over to neighbors for a little bit.

Criminal Minds on at 9:00

hedgie said...

Lolly, from computer can burn them to DVD, which is what I will do rather than keeping on computer taking up so much space!

Mema Jo said...

I wish they would pick a date for the 'fall back' time change and stick with it! Computer seems to know more than I know........... It changes without one touch of the mouse!

Time for Criminal Minds, Jo!!!

Lolly said...

That's what I do, Lynn. However, at this time I am way behind in burning CD's and printing pictures. Need to get with it!

Have added Balloon pictures on facebook. Put a few more on there than here as it is so much easier and faster.

New Thread, come on over!

I bought a calendar at the Fiesta. On the calendar there is an eagle balloon. I think they were just not there this year.

Did you notice that in the kaleidoscope picture I have on my "Train where the Eagles Fly" sweat shirt.

At the Fiesta they have a main street that is like a fair with lots of booths. They are selling everything. The bag I was holding came from the Farmers Insurance tent where we picked up lots of freebies. And why did we get so many freebies.....I told someone Jacob's daddy is a Farmers Agent. Boy, they loaded us up!!!!lol
