good job, Loretta, after Hugo the stork died in his nest, they put up a disclaimer, that there would be categorically no human intervention involved....
Helen, I vaguely remember something about the white storks last year. Was this the incident where eventually the father threw the remains out of the nest & the person in charge retrieved him?
this happened several years ago,Loretta, they retrieved Hugo, from another nest, who was already sick and put him in another nest where he eventually died, it had audio too and you could always here his labored breathing....day he died, man came up the ladder and took his body away...

Thanks, Helen. I may look relaxed in that picture, but I was worried I was doing it wrong! Gabby wasn't happy about being laid on the table and I had to keep a tight hold on him without applying pressure to his body. As long as he stayed still that was easy to do! I did get the hang of it after one escape attempt.

I am in the Hughes penalty box, so having a lot of trouble doing anything on the net....argh! Judie and Shirley.....Dana sent out email last evening on the yahoo momsters mail......if you don't get it (Jo or Paula can fix that!) I will forward it to you as soon as I can get back to my mailbox.....no luck for last hour!
Well, I sure hope they find out what it is quickly.....like before appendix ruptures, or a gallstone blockds the duct or a kidney stone blocks a ureter! Geesh!
I have been fighting with the crabgrass in my yard. I sprayed some of it a couple of days ago. It looks a bit wilted, but I don't know . . . am a little afraid that if I kill all the crabgrass, I won't have a lawn.
All of the talk about the wax thingies, BB-Bats, etc., does take me back. There was a little store across the street from my elementary school that sold candies and goodies. That is where we got those things.
I don't get the momsters mail so maybe Jo or Paula can help me out when either has a free moment. Must have missed the Sierra Club letter, also.
Saw District Supervisor last night at potluck but we didn't discuss the eagle letter to Moran. Thought it wasn't the right time/place. She did tell hubby yesterday morning that she was playing catch up and would get to it quickly.
Never heard of B-B Bats. I remember JuJu Bees which were small and realy hard to chew. Think I got them at the Sat. morning matinees parents sent me to see. Didn't like them.
Read update on Mason-----sure hope that the last line doesn't mean that they are burning incense in Mason's room---horrible for his respiratory system.
I'm getting a bit of a late start here; got up too early, then took a panda nap after getting some stuff done around the house.
I'm really concerned about Tom! Sure hope it ISN'T his appendix, as slowly as they're moving to diagnose his problem! Many prayers being said for him, Sissy, and Sharon!
Thank you for bringing me, and Shirley, up-to-date regarding the Sierra Club decision. I am sure they do have to pick their battles, everyone does, but sure wish they could have thrown a little support toward the eagles' habitat. Still, we do have other avenues being explored so all may not be lost.
Lolly, many prayers being said for Gus, and for you today, as always. Jo, thanks for Benny Goodman's 'Moonglow'! My parents were big fans of his, so I grew up listening to that one on a '78'. Great blast from the past! The full moon, by the way, looked spectacular last night on the way home from school. Jim, hang in there with the new computer! Mine's had a software issue ever since I got it, but I've been able to outsmart it so far. You'll be fine once all your files are transferred.
Guess what! Late yesterday afternoon, after the gardeners had left, Gimpy Heron and 2 of his entourage showed up! I really have to hand it to the little guy--he's determined to get a life! I've been reading about the Finney chick, and am mighty glad that herons don't need to catch prey with their feet. I'm glad some progress seems to have been made regarding the chick with the broken leg. Hope they come to their senses soon and rehab the little sweetheart.
Nickle-Nips - the wax bottles with juice in them...yummm
Very informative information here today, and good posted links yesterday and today also, love the music ones ! We have a good system of staying connected with all sorts of things and Each Other ! ♥
Prayers for Tom and Sissy and all the family through this emergency....
I have to go get more sleep, just finished shopping with the 91 yoa gal that loves to shop. My refrigerator is full!
xo TTFN xo PS the STill Cam if Frozen on yesterday, I will slip an email to Steve about it.
Lynn, I agree about incense (or even candles!) in Mason's room. Not a really good idea. So thankful that he's home now, in familiar surroundings. Thank God!
That is one of my pet peeves, people wearing perfume around patients, which could potentially kill somebody, i.e. asthma attack, etc. Some people just cannot think beyond themselves.
my friend that was here last week, went on to her beach house in Colonial Beach VA, after she left here.....called me yesterday, she has an eagle with 3 fledglings in a tree near her place.....:), maybe got her hooked on eagles.
I'm loving all the reminiscing about wax lips, candy cigs, wax soda bottles, and Necco wafers(!). Takes me right back! Did any of you guys get packets of Koolade, tear off the corner, pour it into your hand, and lick it up? Went through that phase when I was about 6.
Sent my blog link with pictues to my own siblings and children and got a response from my sister-in-law, who is also named Shirley. She's concerned about the Finney chick, too. I told her about this blog. So if you are reading this, Hello Shirley.
Sharon, thanks for the link to Kendra's website. Left a message in her guestbook. Prayers continue! BTW, school went well last night. Got a B on the test from last week, and think the one I took last night might be better. One of my classmates (bless her heart!) gave me some HUGE avocados off her dad's 30-year-old tree. Can't wait till they finish ripening! YUM!!!
Howdy, Shirley/stronghunter, please say hello to George for me! Funny story--we had a siamese decades ago, and at the time lived in a 2-story condo. Mai Tai was about 10 weeks old, and we were all upstairs watching TV, when some guy broke into our place downstairs. He came up the stairs, and was totally surprised to see us sitting there. Mai Tai jumped onto my shoulder, and sat there like a halloween cat, all frizzed up and hissing and growling and yowling, as only a siamese can! He managed to scare the intruder so much, the guy took off, never to be seen again! That kitten was no bigger than a minute, but the guy totally freaked out!LOL
Yep, Mits, I think Homeland Security has it all sewn up and nothing is going to change it. Judie, you did go to the link, right? I love incense---got some really nice Patchouli at the Swasorski (sp.??:) crystal shop in S'town...but have to burn it in the basemen----can't abide the smoke close to me anymore! Cough, cough.
I haven't had any silkworms, but my daughter did when she took a class in college about insects and 8-legged freaks. She's had some huge walking sticks, too! Pretty interesting. Thankfully, no 8-leggers, though.
I love Necco wafers! dang it, now I want some.. The reference to incense was when Mason was in the hospital. They had a native American healer come to the room, they burned incense as part of the ceremony.
Thought you'd appreciate that one, Shirley! Mai Tai grew up to be a HUGE cat--16 pounds, and not overweight, either! Bless his heart, he used to wake me up in the morning by jumping on me (all 16 lbs. of him) if patting my face with his paw didn't work. He was the best cat I ever knew.
I have some problems with incense--my Suzie liked to burn it in her room sometimes, and it reminded me of our house fire. I also have some problems with candles, but do burn them sometimes.
Love Necco wafers....chocolate ones, especially!! Still grab a roll periodically. Andrea, congrats on test grades. How does Gimpy appear---improving??? Hope so! Shirley, is your SIL also named Shirley? Bet that gets confusing!!!
Well, my dryer's buzzing, and I need to do some other stuff, including getting some coffee and running an errand. BBL. Have a great Wednesday, everyone! The week's half over!
Good kitty, Andrea. Hope the guy dropped any loot he had grabbed. BTW, I think someone got confused this morning and thought that the Baltimore burgler was hitting Ceil and Jim's place....
Lynn, just spotted your question. Gimpy heron isn't greatly improved, but hasn't gotten any worse, either. I imagine he's still in some pain, by the way he reacts depending on what he's trying to accomplish. At times, when his good leg gets tired, he uses both wings like crutches to get himself going, and kind of leapfrogs across the grass. Other times he stands on his good leg with the other one dangling. He is able to fly, but one flight feather is broken and kind of dangles at the middle of his right wing. Wish he wasn't afraid of me so I could try to fix him up!
Shirley, we are on the same page regarding large cats who jump! I guarantee no one can sleep through their efforts! Lynn, we weren't missing anything. I think the guy was too shook up to grab anything! The story tends to prove my belief that Siamese cats act more like dogs than most other cats, but think they are people.
Yeah, I know, Lynn. I bet he could really do some damage. Maybe that's why rehab hasn't called. No, I bet they've been shut down because of the whole State budget mess. I've thought about calling our vet, but from previous experience with baby sparrows, all they can do is euthanize. My hands are tied, really, unless the little guy gets really bad.
Well, my clothes dryer is really freaking out now since I haven't shown up. Guess I'd better quit "pulling a Margy" and go rescue my dry clothes. Will BBL, after 1 errand, lunch, and coffee. :o]
Yes, I read the DHS statement and all the words in between. Unless I am totally wrong, the buffer likely refers to the area to be fenced off around the nest tree. Too many years in the fed. govt., I guess.
Nearly choked when I read about the Koolade. Still had some on the palm of my hand. YUM!
I can understand collecting silk worms but why would one want flea spit?
Andrea, congratulations on the grades and enjoy those avocados.
Ah, the Siamese stories bring back memories. Had Siamese cats for most of my life. Our last two died last year at the age of 16. Brother and sister named Lily and Koko. Cats can be very protective animals and ours would growl at unfamiliar people or when the doorbell rang. Wonder if Andrea's intruder decided on a different career path?
Well Dr said that this sunshine gal needs some more sunshine! I am low on Vit D - so he gave me a high dosage pill to take once a week for 8 weeks to get it up where it should be and hopefully it will stay there! I take a multivitamin and there is Vit D in my calcium pills! Wish I could go out in the sunshine but won't do when the humidity in high - not with my lungs! Go back in 3 months for recheck. Cholesterol is ok. All this talk about candies of the past - I would like some NOW ! Of course with blood sugar problem that ain't going to happen! My mouth will just have to water thinking about all those good sweets!
My BIL lost his Siamese, Frankie, before Christmas a couple of years ago---she was about 18. He was so devastated he said he didn't want to ever celebrate the holidays...luckily, my sister got him out of that mood.
Jo, I take 1000U of D per day and Calcium-1500. I am due for my Reclast infusion this month, too. Drs. office waiting for insurance ok before ordering as it's so expensive. I asked how soon we would do another bone scan to see if it's working and he said another 2 yrs.! Took that crazy daily pill for 4 yrs. and then found out it didn't do ANY good at all...so wish I could know about this sooner!
I know we found out about Black Jack gum... tasted like Licorice and I remember it. However I was also thinking of my favorite clled Black Jack Taffy/Black Taffy or just Black Jacks.! I see on line where single pieces are 15cents! WOW - inflation!
Sissy, Mattie and I are going to the hospital to check on Tom. Hopefully, the rain will pass while we are out and I can go walking again. It makes me feel so much better when I can walk a while. Will check in a little later.
Well, Sissy and Mattie left me and are already at the hospital. She didn't wait on me to answer her on the IM. Anyway, I am still going walking if it will stop raining but will still let you know about Tom.
Naw. I was just BSing. I was eating Necco wafers. Well that's BSing, too.
Jo and Lynn, I take calcium and was taking D but soon after starting D realized my arms and sides of face were growing a lot of long, fine textured hair. Stopped the D and hair growth stopped. Maybe a coincidence? Surgeon asked last year if I thought vitamins had value. Looked at him as if he were stoooooopid and said since vitamins don't accumulate no harm no foul.
Do really hope Tom has a good diagnosis so Sharon and Sissy can relax and de-stress. Maddening to wait on test results and doctors.
Off to gaze into the frig for inspiration. Koolade with a side of Neccos and black taffy for desert would be a change of pace. Course, I would have to remove my wax lips, first.
Ahhhh!!! Peace and quiet! Laurel and the boys left for home a little while ago. They are very tired today even after a good nites sleep, a little "short" with each other to put it mildly. Ahh, brothers!
Have not heard a word about Gus today. Probably won't unless I start inquiring. So, my tummy has not been the best.
Skimmed posts...silk worms! I have eggs in my refrigerator! Ha! Actually, they probably are not good anymore. I read where you can keep them 5 years and they are more like 9 years old. LOL I love silk worms. Had them in my class every year. A big hit with the kids at school.
Siamese cats.....my favorite. Have always had Siamese except for our present cat, Annie. She was a teeny tiny stray (probably only 6 or 7 weeks old)when she was dumped on us 14 years ago this month. Had Fu growing up. Then Jack and I got Ah So right after we married. Then came Kissie and our all time favorite of all cats....Misty. Misty was one of Kissie's kittens born in our bedroom. She was a blue point and the sweetest, most loving cat ever. Yep, she was a lot like a dog. Followed us everywhere. Now get this picture.....I was down front working in the yard, got down on my hands and knees to put a weed or two. Misty jumps on my back and a car goes by. LOL Now what do you think they thought when they saw this crazy lady giving her cat a horsey ride?! Misty also wanted under the covers every night. She slept curled up in my arms with her head in my armpit or on my shoulder.
Sounds like you made it throught he Doctor's hoops okay, Mema Jo... You have so much natural sunshine I'm surprised you would need any more Vitamin D ☺
Gotta shake a leg here...think there is a trip to Morgan County in my near future.
I hope the Vit D doesn't put anymore fuzzy hair on my face. The prednisone supposedly does that also ..... Therefore recently when I get a hair cut OUT COMES THE HOT WAX on my face! OUCH! But I don't want to be eligible to do a GEICO commercial! lol
When the girls were youngsters we would hike around the property--single file: 4 humans, followed precisely by 2 dogs and 2 cats, all in an evenly spaced line. Always got a kick out of it---animals afraid they were going to miss something!
Margy - couldn't locate the pic of Sandy on line with Martinsburg Journal. Thanks for saving a newspaper to share with us at next get together.. OCTOBER 17th is coming at us!!!! BE watching for some planning sessions!
The mac and cheese yesterday was so good. I sometimes forget to make it for Jack and myself. I have a simple but delicious recipe for baked mac and cheese and that is what I fix. Have a funny story about that, too.
I do not make Kraft Mac and cheese. Never have...we go for the baked. But, at school when studying the letter "M" we would fix the quick kind in the classroom for a snack. Well, Lolly, who is a good cook, but not quick Mac, over cooked it and when stirred it was more like...well, mashed potatoes. LOL The kids gobbled it up anyway...nothing wrong with it! Then at Open House, I had a grandmother ask for my mac recipe. She said, "Brandie, does not like Macaroni and Cheese, but she came home raving about yours and how yummy it was" LOL I told the truth and we had a good laugh.
DRS must be getting a kickback from the prescribing of Vit D, I have been on it twice since Dec, one time when I came back from Arizona, and had gotten some nice sun, will refush it the next time he tries to get me to take it
Lolly, it took a lot of years before my kids learned to like real M&C---their daddy would always fix them Kraft when they were little (I worked 2nd shift). Yuck!!!
Shirley, you mentioned a fire earlier...can really feel for you. My eldest and SIL lost their first home to fire when she was 7 mos. pregnant w/ their first.
Hi, I am back from furniture store. Just went to Room Store and looked around. Did see some things I liked. Also looked at mattresses. Haven't bought one in many years. I just want to think things over and do some Internet research first. A new mattress might help with the insomnia I sometimes have.
So sorry to hear of Sissy's fire tragedy. We had a close call. I have written about it before, but I woke up at 2:00 AM and found the dryer on fire. We all got out and our neighbor put the fire out before the fire dept. found the house.
My SIL wrote back to tell me about the Raptor Center at Colorado State University that is involved in the rescue of raptors. She also sent an interesting link:
Flea spit . . . she said she did not really have to collect it herself, but she worked with it in connection with a vaccine for pet allergies. I think it was pretty hard to get much of it.
Shirley that is an interesting link with info about that Raptor Center - I can't believe the size of the little Pygmy Owl. It's a wonder he was even visible on the road! OH he is sooooo small !
1,062 lb blue marlin was just brought in to the weigh station at OC, State record, and biggest blue in the tournament, ever.....this is a big fish....guy is from NC, sailing on a boat from Fenwick Island.....darn I was going to go down tonight and watch
My goodness, Mits...that's a fish story and a half!!! Bet there will be a pic tomorrow! Can't wait to see it. Jo, knew that little owlet would melt your sweet heart!

Hello again everybody!
I remember the wax lips, candy cigarettes, wax pop bottles and loved them all. I also remember BB-Bats! Found some of those the other day. Banana and strawberry and they are still as good as ever.
what's the latest on Tom, Sharon?
I remember Wax Lips, the bottles with juice in them and Candy cigs. We had pieces of paper with dots of candy on them, too.
fresh fish delivery at Finney's nest, Mom is not sharing with any of them....maybe it is Dad, and dad's don't share, they just drop off the food
They are going to do an IVP on Tom to check for kidney stones and they are thinking it could be appendicitis too so more will be revealed.
There is a new update on Mason. Sounds like he is settling in at home and getting used to the new routines!
poor Tom:(
I sure hope they find out soon about Tom and can start treatment for him.
good for Mason:)

I love googling! My pic is BB-Bats! Only temporarily though because I have to put Pat back on here.
I know Lynn, hopefully there will be some answers today.
Lynn, I got a message about the Sierra club and St. Elizabeth's Hospital, but I could not access anything on the link that she posted with it.
Sharon, I remember BB-Bats. If I remember correctly, they would almost pull your teeth out if you bit into them.
yes I received the email, but the link on there would not open, but Dana, had the letter from the woman, stating they would not get involved
I think BB-Bats at that time were on sharp wooden sticks.
Now they are just sucker sticks and dentures do not fair well with them! :)
Probably would yank dentures right out. Likely not good for fillings, either.
Right but still taste wonderful!

thanks, Lynn the link opened for me too, now...looks like Homeland Security has it under their control.
MTBR on that one, but just sounds like their mind is made up and nothing will stop them from moving ahead with their plans.
I think incense and things like that are big in the shops in Shepherdstown.
Prayers for little Kendra also.
Maybe "Lizzie" with Mason's group is a respiratory person who has it all figured out - they all seem pretty scientfic about what is going on...

my friend that was here last week, went on to her beach house in Colonial Beach VA, after she left here.....called me yesterday, she has an eagle with 3 fledglings in a tree near her place.....:), maybe got her hooked on eagles.
I'm loving all the reminiscing about wax lips, candy cigs, wax soda bottles, and Necco wafers(!). Takes me right back! Did any of you guys get packets of Koolade, tear off the corner, pour it into your hand, and lick it up? Went through that phase when I was about 6.
yeah, Sharon, I agree.
I bought some of the Necco wafers in Bedford last week. Except the penny candy is now 20 cents to a dollar!
another big fish at Finland nest.....
Sent my blog link with pictues to my own siblings and children and got a response from my sister-in-law, who is also named Shirley. She's concerned about the Finney chick, too. I told her about this blog. So if you are reading this, Hello Shirley.
lots of white birds flying by Finney's nest....this seems to happen everynight this time
hey Shirley, come join us:)
Yes, we ate Koolade right out of the package. I think I was in 4th-
5th grade.
BTW, my sister-in-law is from China. She talks about raising silkworms as pets. Bet none of the rest of us did that!
The Koolade, of course, was the unsweetened kind. Very puckery!
YUM!!!
Several years ago, my sister-in-law also talked about collecting flea spit. Bet you haven't done that, either.
Flea spit and silkworms. Nope, can't say I ever collected either!
Nor have I.
Wow, Andrea. Power to the kitties of the world. That is a great story.
BTW, pardon my manners! Hi to SIL Shirley! Glad to have you here!
I remember the dots of different colored hard candies on the paper too.
Prayers for Kendra.
Yes lots of white birds passing Finney's nest. There were some deer earlier.
They had a native American healer come to the room, they burned incense as part of the ceremony.
love those Native Americans:)
Hi Shirley's SIL Shirley ( :
I also rememeber the koolade licking it off the palm of my hand. lol
Use red suckers for lipstick hee hee
Her American name is Shirley. Please do not ask me what her
Chinese name is. I would have to ask her.
My brother calls us Shirley H. and Shirley P. Of course, Shirley H. was my name before I became Shirley P.
Well, my dryer's buzzing, and I need to do some other stuff, including getting some coffee and running an errand. BBL.
Have a great Wednesday, everyone! The week's half over!
One of my cousins also married a Shirley. Guess she would be Shirley R.
Andrea, George is about 18 pounds. I do notice when he jumps on me. He likes to do that when I'm napping on the couch.
How cool for your friend, Helen. Does her condo kind of overlook the nest???? Can she get any pics??
Good kitty, Andrea. Hope the guy dropped any loot he had grabbed. BTW,
I think someone got confused this morning and thought that the Baltimore burgler was hitting Ceil and Jim's place....
Not sure I would try, Andrea...bet that bill could gore you really badly.
Maybe I will really go look at sofas now. Haven't made it yet.
BBL
Shirley, we are on the same page regarding large cats who jump! I guarantee no one can sleep through their efforts!
Lynn, we weren't missing anything. I think the guy was too shook up to grab anything! The story tends to prove my belief that Siamese cats act more like dogs than most other cats, but think they are people.
Sometimes I put a pillow on my chest--it will either discourage him or soften the blow if he leaps anyway.
Yep Lynn-Hedgie I got it confused. It was Ceil's neighbor 3 doors down. Not Ceil's house.
:o]
Really sad about the shooter in the fittness club near Pittsburg.
Prayers for those hurt, killed and their families and friends. So saddening.
Back for a visit.
George is quite handsome as is Hunter.
Don't much like burning candles and incense.
Hope all went well for Gus today.
Back to crime.
Judie
When are the leaves around here Berkeley County the most colorful?
2nd question when do you think the leaves on Skyline Drive are the most colorful?
Oh Dana - depends when we have the 1st frost. Anything in the Farmer's Almanac?
I would say mid-October for both places, Dana!!!
Judie---seriously, were you licking the Koolade????
Never cared to do that, but liked the sweet Pixie Stix!
But I have been good and careful...except for one broken toe, I haven't had a fracture almost 2 yrs.!!!
Hedgie - which pill did you take for 4 years?
I know we found out about Black Jack gum... tasted like Licorice and I remember it. However I was also thinking of my favorite clled
Black Jack Taffy/Black Taffy or just Black Jacks.! I see on line where single pieces are 15cents! WOW - inflation!
Evista, Jo.
Sissy, Mattie and I are going to the hospital to check on Tom. Hopefully, the rain will pass while we are out and I can go walking again. It makes me feel so much better when I can walk a while. Will check in a little later.
There are some newer posts on the Finney Forum... I told Loretta she should sign up on hit and give her info.
Link to page 15 last comments of
Finney's Forum
Keep us informed Sharon. Thanks.
Judie
Sharon, can't believe they left you behind! Boo! Have you had much rain?? Been threatening here off an don all day, but so far nada.
Waiting anxiously on ANY news either way from the Southern Delegation.
Megan!
I just noticed your new avatar!
That's Wild, guess it has something to do with the brakes and the snakes ?
Thanks for the explanation of the Incense....
How about SkyBars??
Sounds like you made it throught he Doctor's hoops okay, Mema Jo...
You have so much natural sunshine I'm surprised you would need any more Vitamin D ☺
Gotta shake a leg here...think there is a trip to Morgan County in my near future.
TTFN xo
Judie, you have such a great sense of humor!
Haven't noticed any extra hair w/ high amts. of D here!
All of the macaroni and cheese talk yesterday gave me an appetite for some, so will fix that and some pigs-in-blankets for dinner.
I hope the Vit D doesn't put anymore fuzzy hair on my face. The prednisone
supposedly does that also ..... Therefore recently when I get a hair cut OUT COMES THE HOT WAX on my face!
OUCH! But I don't want to be eligible to do a GEICO commercial! lol
Funny story, Lolly! Can picture it now!
When the girls were youngsters we would hike around the property--single file: 4 humans, followed precisely by 2 dogs and 2 cats, all in an evenly spaced line. Always got a kick out of it---animals afraid they were going to miss something!
TOO MUCH !! ROFLMBO Oh Lolly!
Kitty want a horsie ride
PS
Steve at NCTC replied to the email about the Still Cam, said there was a power outage Tuesday afternoon which probably affected it.
Thanks Steve!
SAN DIEGO — Zoo officials say the San Diego Zoo's 17-year-old giant panda Bai Yun has given birth to a cub.
The zoo announced last week that Bai Yun, who has now given birth to five cubs, was pregnant.
It is too soon to know whether the cub, the 13th panda born in the United States, is male or female.
Bai Yun has four other offspring. Two recently celebrated birthdays at the zoo and two are in a breeding program in China.
Officials will provide details
one of my fav volunteers, just moved to SD, and is now a volunteer there....she just sent the news to NZ
WHOO HOO! Thanks Mits for the info
Have you checked their cam yet? I guess I will right now..
How's the Marlin today - big ones coming in?
DRS must be getting a kickback from the prescribing of Vit D, I have been on it twice since Dec, one time when I came back from Arizona, and had gotten some nice sun, will refush it the next time he tries to get me to take it
There is a pic of the cub on here
Link to Daniel's Multiple Panda Cam Feeds
I have not put up the cam yet, Jo, only 125 boats went out today.....they can only go 3 days, so alot will finish up tomorrow or Friday
cute pic, and she is on live with the cub now:)
SD Zoo has the live cam on her and cub
San Diego Panda
Mits sent us this page with a video
Thanks so much! I remember seeing Buta Buta born! This brings back memories!
http://www.sandiegozoo.org/
Congrats to SD and Bai!!! Hope Jim is watching!!
I sent Jim a copy of Mit's email.
Don't know how far along he has gotten with his Puter Fixin'
Lolly, it took a lot of years before my kids learned to like real M&C---their daddy would always fix them Kraft when they were little (I worked 2nd shift). Yuck!!!
Shirley, you mentioned a fire earlier...can really feel for you. My eldest and SIL lost their first home to fire when she was 7 mos. pregnant w/ their first.
Headed to the refrigerator for some inspiration for dinner!
BBL
Sissy also lost her 2 young children to a devastating fire.
thanks, Jo I don't have everyone's email.....
Well, saw the still photo of cub w/ Bai, but cam shows a slumbering mom and guess cub is well tucked in. Such a great event!!!
Bai is 17 years old, so there is hope for Mei yet:)
Yes, Mits...such a tragedy. Thanks for rememberiing to say that for our newer momsters.
SD cam really close-up at Bai and cub.
don't forget Full Moon tonight....rising at 7:55 p.m. here tonight:)
I've been watching the cam at SD for awhile. She is really keeping that cub close. No site of the cub yet.
She is moving now..
she has showed part of it a couple of times....., when they have showed her head, it was right under her chin.
Still can't see the cub yet.
well won't see it in that postion she is in now unless she puts it on the floor
Done for the day. How exciting that SD has a Panda!
checking on dinner bbl
yes very happy for them....always good to have another Giant Panda in the world:), even though it is that "other zoo"...lol
Raptor Link
great link, someone I know is really going to love that pygmy owl:)
Isn't that the cutest little owl?
just adorable:)
Flea spit . . . she said she did not really have to collect it herself, but she worked with it in connection with a vaccine for pet allergies. I think it was pretty hard to get much of it.
She is a biochemist.
Good site, Shirley. That license plate they talk about is the one that Deb said her late nephew had, I think.
Right, you did tell us about the dryer!
George is lying beside his food dish. At the moment, he is purring. That might not last if I do not feed him. He is giving me that look.
I bought myself some salmon for tonight.
BBL
Judie, strange story about Gallows Rd. gas station attendant being found dead in his burned vehicle...
you can see a little bit of cub now...:)
well she has covered it again...
Fed George and took a quick look at the San Diego Panda Cam. How nice.
Shirley that is an interesting link with info about that Raptor Center -
I can't believe the size of the little
Pygmy Owl. It's a wonder he was even visible on the road! OH he is sooooo
small !
Great news about SD cub. Another little one to watch. They are so cute when they get to be a few months old.
Oops Evening everyone.
1,062 lb blue marlin was just brought in to the weigh station at OC, State record, and biggest blue in the tournament, ever.....this is a big fish....guy is from NC, sailing on a boat from Fenwick Island.....darn I was going to go down tonight and watch
Now why would a fox eat something that small. That is not even an appetizer. Cute litte owl.
Wow that is one big fish.
it sure is.....:)
Oh Mits! You missed the Big One!
That was a whopper!
My goodness, Mits...that's a fish story and a half!!! Bet there will be a pic tomorrow! Can't wait to see it.
Jo, knew that little owlet would melt your sweet heart!
last years blue 1st place winner was 935 lbs.....it won $500,000, if this one stays in 1st place he will win $550,000.
That is one healthy sum of money!
Now THAT IS A FISH!!!
That is one huge fish! Gonna be hard to top that!
Bai Yun is sitting up but still can't see her cub cuddled in her arms.
How about that - Food Bank gets the marlin steaks. The Salisbury one.
lol Lost Parents! That is so well put!
they say they have a big white marlin coming in
the fish is distributed all over the eastern shore....just talked to my fishing friend, and we are not sure how good blue marlin would taste
just heard that and they think a Wahoo is coming too., that would be Jo's fish.....WAHOO:)
Mits, I'll stay tuned until I see that one!
Oh No - a dolphin
Paula's former boss just got dropped to 4th place in dolphin category...and no it is not the Atlantic bottle nose dolphin, like I watch going by.
no worries, not Flipper....
Mits it is not really a dolphin is it? Isn't it what they call a dolphin "fish"?
Jo it is not a blue nose dolphin It has a strange name. I thought the same thing Monday and Helen told me the name. Cute little fish though.
correct, Dana
Meant bottle nose not blue nose but in the cold water maybe its nose does get blue
