Steve, I wish I could come to NCTC to help, and on the off chance get a chance to see Lib and Belle, but I gotta be in beautiful downtown (UGH) Alexandria all morning! Believe me, if I had my druthers, I'd be there.
Argh OK Planned this all wrong, Vicky and I would probably have loved to do something like that Steve but that won't fit now. I will be in the car headed your way though starting tomorrow. Hi, eagle lovers! It's a gorgeous day here in Pendleton County. Fall is my favorite season - until March, when Spring becomes my favorite. lol! I have decided that I am not going to go to the Open House. I was away from home for the past 2 weekends and feel a need to stay home on Saturday. I am going on the train ride on Sunday - so I will see some of you there, as well as meet some of you for the first time. For those of you who I'll miss at the Open House - I'll see you at the Christmas party! Have a great time on Saturday!!

The Motor Home is still in the Ford Garage in Woodstock, Va. They are trying really hard, but cannot find a Rear End to fit. (No chuckles, Please) Have to bring one down from Detroit. They have given us no promises. :(

But i would bet they roost up on those higher branches... Oh last night i watched thsi movie its an old one made in 1981 with Jim Belushi and this woman any wyas she lives in the Rockies and studying Eagles and he gets stuck there with her.. Beautiful eagle's in it called " Continental Divide" worth watching for the eagles alone.. but its a love story...

Hi Wanda! Not to worry. All of the activities are over at or in the 2 main buildings. I am certain that Glo will drive straight to the nest. If Anne is following Robyn - she can also drive over to the barn.
Only thing is that there are FWS men directing traffic at the 4 Way stop and hopefully will let them go over.
BUT What about the TALONS!

HELLO....just got back from getting my rear-end aligned and it cost me a fortune!!!! Pretty quiet at zoo tonight, since I had been there since 1, and an extra volunteer showed up tonight, after I did the upper trail, I left....the lawyers were more interested in drinking and eating than animal watching, they did have a huge chocolate fountain I wanted to dive into, but I resisted:O).
NILLA...It does take so little to make us happy, that is why we like each other so much. We think so alike.

Thank you ladies:) I grow lots of different and unusual plants, Wanda. Mostly annuals, lots that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. And all my plants and flowers are grown pesticide free.

Hi the flight leaves here at 12:00. goes to Long Beach and then goes to Dulles. I get there at 5:30am. We then go the the post office , where ever that is, to catch a tour bus.3 hours later we head for Martinsburg.
Oh, what time is breakfast? we'll all be there for apple pie:) Anne- Temperatures will be low to mid 70's Saturday and Sunday. Into the 40's at night.
I LOVE my Mommy too! She gave me a pie to bring home (apple) after I took her to Dr. yesterday. Getting ready to have some right now with a glass of milk. The Capt. has his with chocolate milk. Yuk!!

The bus tour starts at the post office on Pennsylvania Blvd.I have to get there from the airport. Thats what I was looking on Map quest for. After that I head to Martinsburg so I will be ok.

The tour starts at 12:00 and ends at 3:00. I learned to drive in LA so I should be ok. I can get lost just as good as anyone.
You'll probably be taking the Dulles toll road closer in to DC, Rt 267 I think it is.
You should have plenty of time to stop and get breakfast before your tour. You'll probably see some sites just getting to the post office.

Thats another thing, I have never taken a toll road. How much? What should I have on hand?
Anne, are you talking about the Old Post Pavilion on PA Avenue???? You know PA Avenue where the President lives...I've never heard of PA Blvd....make sure you get directions before you leave the airport, you will be coming in rush hour traffic.....got to get to bed...up early tomorrow.
I read a short description of Squiggle's exam today, but I found no interviews or videos of it. Did any of you?
I did listen to an interview from about a week ago, which discussed why Bai Yun and Squiggles were spending so much time outside of the den...apparently Bai Yun would take the baby outside every time the keepers would put her back in there... They "think" it might have gotten too stinky, and Bai Yun's instincts told her it was unsafe from predators when she was outside.
Anyway the keepers cleaned it up thoroughly, and they are both back in there...seems like the stink (or mold on the bamboo) was the probable cause.

First time my oldest drove to Dulles, he got bad directions so he called me. Couldn't tell me what road he was on or anything. I told him to look around for the planes and follow the ones that were going down. He found the airport just fine.
Head west to the mountains Anne. You will either end up in Hagerstown or Winchester. Then find 81 and your here.

You will only have to pay a toll to get off the roadway. When I come in from Dulles, I get off the Bethesda exit, and come around the Beltway, Does it say anything on your map about the GW Parkway?
Heidi - The toll is only a couple of bucks - make sure you bring a credit card - quickest way to pay, and I think the only way on that road...
Toll road is 3.50 max. And you don't have to take it. Just a shortcut.
That's the first time in over a week that Dolly has been very far from her "corner."

Anne, if mapquest is bringing you in GW, you won't be on our wonderful beltway too long, be careful, most of the people on the parkway drive like it is the autobahn, but it is a very pretty drive...got to go.

Morning, world. Beautiful night out, gazillions of stars, and yet some very whispy fog. Kinda neat to drive through that, or under it. It was 65° at home, and 65° here, don't even need a jacket. Brought mine in though, I need it in here!
I knew it! Squiggles got her weekly exam yesterday. No wonder mom Bai was going nutso when I left. Anyway, she's a healty little 11 week old girl. Cutest little pic of her on their website, in the news section. She's 21" long, and weighs 8.6 pounds. She's growing!
See we have a cam too, wonderful! Hope the kids come to visit later this morning. Only thing moving is spidey's web.
Bai and Squiggles are sleeping, and Frieda is on ledge grooming and awake, and Dolly is in her corner. Has she left that corner in the last couple of days? I've had them up here most of the day since Tues, and I never see her away from the corner. Guess since she's an only child now, it's her security blanket.
All have a great eagle/panda day.

Bai just left the den, Squiggles is still sound asleep. Frieda is watching Dolly while she sleeps. Have a grey spot right in the center of our cam, not sure what it is. It's been there before, but haven't seen it in a while. Cutting down on the glare, though. Oh, here comes mom, must have been a nature call. She's picked up Squiggles, rolled on her side, now she's snuggling her. Oh cute, she has Squiggles between both her paws and is giving her kisses, that's adorable! Think they're gonna go to sleep that way.
