Hi all! Been watching nest...right now, empty.
Good Saturday morning to all eagle momsters amd dadsters pit there. Sure looks like there has been more work done on the nest. Belle and Shep sure have been busy. MT nest this am. Hopefully an egg will appear soon.
Eagle has landed and is starting to work on nest. :)
Both eagles in nest now doing nestorations. That egg cup sure looks deep. Both are working together.
One eagle out and one still in nest. I wish one of them would just sit in the egg cup. :) AND back again. Both working together placing a new branch.
One out of nest one in. Hope they hurry up and get the nestorations finished soon. Eagle left in nest is calling out.
Eagle back with another branch and both are working to pput it in place.

It was too dark to see when I first got on. Then when she started digging I could see that there wasn't an egg. I hear a lot of tapping...wondering if Shep is up by the camera. Maybe it's rain.
Sandi, we are going to meet an 11 month old lab rescue puppy today. I'm nervous. I have never gone the rescue/adoption route. I am worried about making a decision and hope I will "know" one way or the other when we meet her.
Radar does show rain. It shows it here in H town too but it's not raining. Weird weather. Very windy today!!!!
Dana, I'm going to go out on a limb and say congratulations on the new addition right now. I know another dog will be good for your heart. Will Boomer be going with you? If so, he'll make the decision for you. We weren't planning to adopt Ellie - Janey fell in love with her first and that was that! Good luck!
And for the record, I am a HUGE fan of adopt, don't shop!
Yes, Boomer is going with us. It is a requirement. I can't believe how nervous I am. I hope I'm doing the right thing getting a second dog. I really hope we can handle 2 when we go camping and 3 if my mom moves in with her Old English Sheepdog. We have been having discussions about her moving into our house. She is so lonely at night and I'm home alone most of the time bc of Monte being in NY. It just seems to make sense.

issued a Wind Advisory...which is in effect from 7 PM this
evening to 3 PM EST Monday.
* TIMING...Gusty winds will develop this evening and persist into
Monday afternoon. The strongest winds will be tonight through
Monday morning.
* WINDS...Northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts around 50 mph.
* IMPACTS...Scattered tree and power line damage. Difficulty
driving high profile vehicles.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts around 50 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for
high profile vehicles.
HERE, we will be under a high wind WARNING from 11pm all throught tomorrow w/ gusts to 60. Hope the camper stays put....

We did it. We adopted a new little labbie girl. Name to be determined. She is precious.

No eagle in the nest this morning. Thankfully we still have a nest! That wind was whipping around. They say we had 65 mile per hour gusts.
I think the puppy's name is going to be Jewel. It seems to be what we have settled on. I can't believe how hard it was to name her!! She slept like a baby and got up when I got up this morning. So far she is a perfect little girl.
She does get on Boomer's nerves at times, but she is a puppy. I think (hope) this is normal. I'm sure Frisbee put Boomer and Java in their place when they were puppies.
Was hoping for some kind of delay...or power outage...oh well looks like I'm off to school today. LOL!
I'm thinking of going part time next year and picking up some more hours with Washington Co. I currently am one of their Home and Hospital teachers. I only have 1 student currently, but the demand seems high for teachers as they are always sending out cases. Something to consider for sure. I think it's going to depend on class size for next year. My class the past 2 years has been too large even with an aide. I have 25 and I just think it's too much.

DANA So glad to hear your rescue was successful and you came home with a new Lab puppy. They are such nice dogs, and you have been kind enough to give her a forever home. Jewel is a very pretty name.
Nest is still MT and has been right along. I think our Belle and Shep are holding on for dear life somewhere it is safer than in that nest.
One eagle back on nest with stick and doing nestorations again. Their nest should hold up, but I just hope the tree does, too.

Dana, congrats on the new pup! I've spent a lot of time with my mentor learning and studying behavior so if there is anything I might help you with let me know. Be advised that this, the first 2 weeks, is the "honeymoon" phase. Once a dog becomes adjusted to the new home, behaviors can change...some for the worse! Like teenagers!
Sounds like you also have some career things to think about. Sounds like your gut already knows what you'll do....keep us posted.

They sort of did that yesterday LOLLY but Shep was on the cup for the longest time them Belle flew in and took over the cup and stayed on it for a bit. Who knows with these two?

No one home in the nest and no egg visible. We indeed had a lot of snow and it is all piled up anywhere and everywhere. Every parking lot has mountains of the stuff all around and some blocking spaces. At my office, there are piles at least 10 feet high. The same at home. We are not allowed to push any of it into the streets, so it has filled up my entire side yard and the plows now have to push it onto the front lawn. It is way higher than my mailbox post. The post is painted fuchsia, so at least I can find it!
