THANKS FOR THE NEW THREAD AND THE CALL OVER JO

JUST got back from seeing the eagles both on the cell tower Just may run down to the tower south of me to checkout Its a beautiful warm probably 76 now out

Thanks for the new thread. Nice feather Mema Jo copied over from previous thread

ga everyone. Gosh I am thinking our eagles are better at snow removal than most humans with all of their equipment. Patches and I have doggie class tonight. She is doing better with her socialization. It is interesting and educational to watch her change as she learns life is safe and actually can even be fun in strange places with strange people. Eagle season photography wise is sort of a downer. So having said that I am ready for spring :-)

Sandi said...

Thanks Steve for a new thread - that one was getting pretty full! Thanks Jo for the call over.

I see from Facebook posts that Belle has eaten in the nest twice today - that's a good sign that we're getting closer to egg laying time.

Still feeling puny but not as bad as this morning. I have 5 days worth of antibiotics from when I had my stitches so I am taking those just in case what I have is bacterial rather than viral.

Judie said...

Good afternoon.

Thank you Steve for the post-storm thread. Stay warm.

Congratulations Jo on the beauteous new feather.

Errands and tasks finished.

Lydia, please know your momster/dadster family wish you the best. Not sure what has happened but please do take care.

Jo, perhaps we should have made our point more clearly -- you are not allowed to go snowboarding as snowboarding is known far and wide for taking on clavicles. You don't say on the blog what happened but our prayers are with you that you will be quickly healed. So sorry.

Prayers for both Jo and Lydia.

Glo, hope puppy school is a success tonight. Such good news about Patches.

Jo, thank you for the PPO update. May the owlet live long and thrive.

Yes, the nest is looking more like a Civil War stockade today.

JudyE, hope the dental visit was successful and without discomfort.

Lydia V. Price -Dr. Robert Lyon called me this am. He is apparently the "shoulder specialist" in the ortho group. I was impressed that he called me personally verses having a nurse or office worker do it. Told me he was in the Hagerstown office today and reading my rads. He wants to see me in the Chambersburg office in the am. So guess I will not know more till then. Just wanted to give you the update. Thanks to all for the well wishes. You are all such special people

Thanks for keeping Lady Lydia in your thoughts and prayers.
We should know something soon.

Judie said...

Jo, thank you for the update on Lydia. Please, if you FB her, give her my best regards along with all of the momsters.

Nest is MT. No sleepover tonight.

Headed to my recliner and then the pillows.

Wishing everyone a night of restful sleep.

JudyEddy said...

been chatting with Bonnie and she has confirmed that the ILL nest is a definite ménage à trois They have it on video both males
that female is still in nest I told her is a Jerry Springer Who's your baby daddy LOL

JudyEddy said...

They first had thought it was a co operate nest that one was a helper but proved herself wrong she said I guess the Calf nest the female is the helper but with this nest two males makes a difference Who knows only the eagles do

JudyEddy said...

JUDIE I went to LYDIA page and sent her your regards and told her everyone on the blog was praying for her

Good Very Early Morn, Eagle Buds!!!

Up for meds and waiting for them to take hold---some nights are like that.

Belle is spending the night in the nest and we all know what a good, good sign that is! Eggcitement just around the corner.

Much thanks to STEVE for re-threading us and to our be-feathered JO for the alert!

GLO, here's hoping the Eagle Photography picture changes for the better, soon.

JANET, it's good you're in the "putting things back in order" phase. Pace yourself.

Happy with the PPO report!!!

So sorry Lady Lydia is suffering--sounds like she's in good hands with Dr. Lyon. Prayers for her, JO, SANDI and anyone else in need as I head back to bed....ZZZ.

Good morning.

Overcast here.

AEF eaglets being mumbrellaed - warm but raining. Berry nest looks wet with wind. Our nest MT and so glad someone spent the night. No one home when I last checked.

JudyE, thank you so much for sending my message to Lydia. I do hope she's improving.

Sandi, have a good day at school. Hope you feel better.

Kay, hope you feel better.

Janet, glad you're getting back to normal.

Hi to Margy, Jerry, and Linda.

Judie said...

Back quickly.

Looked and see no update from Lynne2 on how the animals are doing. Maybe she commented elsewhere.

Wishing everyone the best day possible -- especially Jo.

Judie said...

Well, just seem discombobulated this morning.

Big Red and Ezra have begun to build their nest at Cornell. Snowing there.

Bye

Mema Jo said...

Good morning to all ♥

Happy to see you Linda - I know the feelings you've stated about Friends Forever.

LYNNE2 - Yesterday on FB - An at long last, we are plowed out! It took the guy with the great big tractor about 4 hours but he got 'er done! Still have some shoveling to do. My body isn't happy with me at ALL!

Mema Jo said...

Our NCTC Royal Couple are starting to show signs of an egg to be in our egg cup soon.
Belle had eaten in the nest and now spent the night there. It could just be a matter
of a day or two for our egg to appear. Originally I thought Feb date but Belle could just make it a Jan date.
I have my Oatmeal Cookies ready to celebrate.

Mema Jo said...

Lydia was on our FB blog and said: At ortho now. Probable need go surgery

She is glad we are keeping updates on the nest for her!

Kay said...

Penny and I slept in til' 10 this a.m.--I know how I do it, but am amazed that she can go from 8:30pm to 10:15am without an outing! Lower back pain gone as Tylenol did it's job.

The show will begin soon. Very windy at the nest and very cold, I imagine. Our eagles get through any weather thrown at them with flying colors, don't they?

JO, thanks for the LYNNE2 update--not an easy life for her and Steve. Ummm, oatmeal cookies time. Yeah!

JUDIE, sorry for the discombobulation! Hope it subsides soon.

LINDA, love "seeing" you here, but realize what a taxing time this is for you.☺

SANDI, hope you're having a good day at school!

Kay said...

Great view of Sycamore Palace and surroundings, no sign of Belle or Shep.

So sorry to hear LYDIA is probably in for surgery. Praying for the best possible outcome for her!

Prayers for all in need as I try to make up for lost time here. It's cold, but sunny so Penny and I will have some good outings. She has a new quilted coat, red with navy trim and fake pockets with gold buttons. Thanks to Julie!

JudyEddy said...

JUDIE I laughed at your RED comment I thought of our Red on the blog building a nest LOL

Lolly said...

Good day! Yay for Linda checking in again!

I chuckled at your "taxing" comment, Kay! 😜

Chilly day here but sunny. Probably do work inside and save yard work for tomorrow. Joey overseeds their lawn in the winter. That requires mowing year round. Not for me! There is enough to do without mowing. Still more leaves to get rid of as well as fern to cut back then rake up. We are gradually drying up and see sunshine for the week ahead!

Very eggciting that Belle was in the nest a lot of the night. Won't be long. Yay!

Ash and Zach arrived home around 7 last night. AA added a lot of flights and so that really helped! They are tired, but home!

Judie said...

Both eagles in the nest. Stick after stick after stick.

Mema Jo said...

Good news from Lydia traveling fast to our ears and hearts:

Many of my friends have been asking about the status of my fractured clavicle. Good news is when we came back from the ortho today, he felt keeping this sling and brace on my arm 24/7 for two weeks would result in healing and avoid surgery. I have to go have more x-rays in two weeks. I may end up with a hump in my shoulder related to the displaced bone and callus healing, but that is OK with me. I would much rather have that than surgery at my age. Praise the Lord!

Sandi said...

Hi all - it was a nice day at school and I am feeling better - not perfect, but headed in the right direction.

Linda, welcome home! We've missed you - please visit when you can; I know it's a crazy busy time of year for you!!

Jo, you're right - it's almost oatmeal creme pie time! I had forgotten about Margy's tradition! Thanks for the excellent news on Lydia!

I just read on Facebook that Baltimore County Schools have closed for the rest of the week. I suspect many other Maryland counties west of the Chesapeake Bay will do the same or maybe they already have.

Shirley, has Hunter returned to school yet?

We got a photo from Brian yesterday that his renter had sent to him. Their entire carport attached to the garage collapsed from the weight of the snow. Their insurance will cover it but what a PIA having to deal with an insurance claim in WV while you're living in Mexico, not to mention not being there to supervise the repair.

Judie said...

Good afternoon.

Nest MT.

Wonderful news from Lydia. Hopefully the sling and brace will work their magic.

Sandi, good you had a nice day and are feeling better but so sorry about the carport caving. What a mess to deal with long distance.

I suspect Hunter's school has been closed. Fairfax is closing through the end of the week.

Soon to the scullery.

Food is being consumed in the nest. I didn't see which one brought it and I'm not sure who's eating, though I would wager it's Belle.

Judie said...

Looks like Belle. Dinner in the nest. Overnight in the nest. My goodness. Egglet time is nearing.

Unknown said...

good early evening to all.

SANDI: so sorry to hear of the collapse of the roof! yes, that is a pain in the neck to deal with from so far away!

Glad LYDIA has avoided surgery! Broken bones are painful! Healing and hugs!

Good day over all. Work was good. Came home and rearranged more boxes, I can't put many away yet because the new concrete in the storage closet is still curing. That's okay....it gives me time and incentive to sift thru stuff.

Making tacos for dinner for the humans, but for now, furbabies wish to be fed!

Later ya'll!

Mema Jo said...

Yes more food in the nest for Belle's long night ahead!

Get the Oatmeal Pies ready!

Peeking in at the nest. Have been visiting other cams on my laptop and creating icons on my iPad, so will be checking on Blackwater, Florida etc.

Thankful Lydia does not have to undergo surgery and hopefully mends quickly!

What a pain, Sandi for Brian. But, thankfully, just a carport!

Good evening,

Looking at an empty nest. Exciting to know that Belle slept in the nest last night, even if she did arrive late.

No school for Hunter tomorrow. The plan is for school to be in session on Friday.

No league bowling tomorrow. I am thinking that I might want to go over there and practice. I expect Val might want to join me.

stronghunter said...

BBL. Kathryn is home. Seems that she is locked out. Much doorbell ringing and knocking. I sent Hunter to let her in.

Hello from post scullery duty.

Nest is MT

JudyE, thank you for posting Lydia's comment. Much appreciated. Maybe now she knows we all care, she'll visit once in awhile.

Thinking of Jo and hope she's getting some rest.

Yippee for Kathryn (if she has good eats). If not, well, yippee for Kathryn anyway. Yes, practice would be good if for no other reason than to get out and about for a little. Personally, I am going stir crazy.

Going to do some reading then to the pillows.

Wishing everyone restful sleep.

Do forgive me....I thought I posted our plowed out update here, too and CLEARly I didn't!

Prayers for Lydia...good news so far so let's pray that healing goes well!

How you feeling Kay? And that would be choco chip cookies, thank you! The soft kind. MMMMMMMM!!

Linda....wow, you've been missed! And here you are again, just in time for tax season...boo hiss! Do try to pop in more often, you don't have to say much. Just HELLO!

You too Margy...I miss you and I miss James stories!

So sorry about the dang carport roof Sandi.

Well as I said, we did get plowed out officially, free at 4:28pm yesterday. Today we still had some shoveling to do and Steve cleared a parking area down by the barn with the Kabota that we have here. So I think it's safe to say that other than some salting of the wet now frozen areas outside, we are finished with SnowNino chores! I can't even tell you how wonderful it is to be able to get back to the barn (where hay was delivered today resulting in another half hour of Steve and I doing intense labor...it was dropped a bit far from where it had to go and it was 20 bales!!) without trudging through 3 feet of snow!! WOOO WEEEEEEEE! I believe next on the purchase list of equipment here is going to be a big huge snow blower for the Kabota. That will be a huge help if and when it snows again!

I am REALLY sore. Think after getting supplies at the store tomorrow I will be resting up!

stronghunter said...

Kathryn had just gotten home from work. Left her key there--or else someone at work has it. The food was in the oven.

Yes, Judie. I feel the need to get out and about.

stronghunter said...

Sorry about the roof collapse, Sandi.

stronghunter said...

A strip mall roof collapsed not far from here. Kathryn and Hunter saw it when they were out the other day.

stronghunter said...

Nest is empty.

stronghunter said...

Lots of lights at NCTC tonight--in both upper corners.

stronghunter said...

So happy to learn you have been plowed out, Lynne2. I gave a happy wave to the plow driver when he came through yesterday. He stuck his head out the window and gave me a big grin and a wave.

stronghunter said...

Still empty nest.

I am ready to settle in for the night. I'll see you tomorrow. SED, everyone.

Just checked the nest, no eagle! Have been enjoying a nice fire this evening. Did not accomplish a lot today. One thing I did was message back and forth with an old friend. We were neighbors our first year of marriage. I sent him pictures from way back then. Fun! He lives up your way, is retired but is a docent at the Smithsonian.

Jack has built a new bluebird house and we put it up today. Now, everyone think positive thoughts that we get bluebirds! Would be so excited!

I see Lynne2 posted. I figured that after the plows cleared the way, she had escaped and never to be seen again. I did see on fb where she shared a pic of her crown.

Time for me to close my eyes! Nite all!

Sandi said...

Linda said...

Good Morning!

I take a moment to look at the comments of the last 24 hours and wonder even WHY I bother with FB sometimes!! Yes I love the pictures of family and close friends, but every post on this blog interests me and means something to me!!! Hmmmmm

I am just loving coming back and reading comments, not even needing to look above at who is posting. WHY? Because we know each other well enough here to know who is who!! Neat stuff.

KAY - Your wit never ceases to amaze me.......and you NEVER forget me on those special occasions. Thank you for that. There are a few of you who have not given up on telling me I am missed.....you, JO, LOLLY, WANDA, SUZAN....to name a few on FB. Thanks, Ladies!

JUDIE - Talk about wit?? Love that you still have scullery duty........or love hearing those words. Not sure anyone really loves that duty....maybe except LOLLY who does love to do those sort of tasks!!

LOLLY - Still so active with those grandsons and my are they getting big, and looking mature! Yikes!!

SANDI - So sorry to hear about the carport and the insurance nightmare that will surely follow!! You're still up at the crack of dawn and must still be slaving at the school? Lucky for them you are still there as dedicated as you are!! And that beautiful avatar picture must be your granddaughter!! Wow, what a cutie!!

MARGY - Oh how it is soooo nice to see your posts and know you are doing okay!! Can't wait for a JAMES update!!

JUDYE - I can still see life is busy with you as well. Did you ever retire?

JO - You're amazing!! No surprise there!! Always looking out for everyone here, checking on us wherever we are and loving us through every step!! I love seeing your family pictures and updates on FB. God is good!

LYNNE2 - Glad you are finally plowed out and what a horrible ordeal for you and Steve. Would love to hear where you two are and what you're doing. Sounds like you're on a farm or property with barn and animals? Right up your alley! Either way, it is good to hear you alive and hopefully WELL!!

SHIRLEY - I can't even begin to wonder how life with Hunter is not that he is growing and probably bigger with you. Life with kids and grandkids in your home keeps you young and busy! Sorry bowling was cancelled but happy to hear you're still enjoying it!!

JANET - Boxes? We're there some repairs, addition or have you moved? Just curious. Still feeding humans and fur babies, so I guess all is good in your world. That feeding thing.......just doesn't stop, does it?? They're always hungry!!

LYDIA - Although I hear she hasn't been here, I am hoping and praying that the latest news of 2 weeks in the sling will be the healing solution for her. That is one painful injury and I will keep her in my daily prayer list!!!

Linda said...

Hoping that I can continue to pop in here and there. Life with us is much the same, but mostly good. Dennis is going for another "scope" to check for the bladder cancer. We battle that on and off...........as that is how bladder cancer works. But he has been able to keep everything inside so far and hopefully always will. We have had a good 6 months and are praying for 6 months more!

Both of our boys are engaged! We will most likely have two weddings in 2016 in South Florida. As much as I hate heat and humidity, they will probably both be outside weddings! Ugh!! Such is life. We are so happy for the boys.

My son, Adam, is the most recent one to be engaged and he gets a package deal!! His fiancé has a darling 4 year old daughter that calls me Nana!!! Instant grandmother hood!! WHOO HOO!! We FaceTime often and I have seen them three times since October, so the trips to and from FL are increasing! It's ALL GOOD!!

Work is busier than EVER! Have a couple German business clients that are quite interesting. They are actually totally funded by the German government and one is in D.C and the other is in NYC. They deal with foreign policy and relations. One works with senators and congressman with think tanks and symposiums. The other one in NYC deals solely with the United Nations. Their purpose is to further talks with our leaders in areas of global relations, policy, etc. It is neat. The challenge for me is all my reports are in GERMAN!!! I am so happy numbers are universal!!

Adding these two clients to my full list of clients has me about maxed out. Oh......and then there is my ex....in Boynton Beach, FL, who has asked me to take him back "accounting and tax wise" of course. It is nice to be working with him and that business again. We have always been friends and as I have mentioned in the past, had the best divorce anyone could ask for. We trust one another and our spouses like each other too. Who gets together socially with their ex and their new spouses? Crazy, but soooo good for the family!!

MIGRAINES - Yeah, they are still with me, too. Oh JOY!! But I deal with them as they come and feel blessed that I am not dealing with something life threatening, right??

We still do the garden, maple syrup and things like that. Dennis just finished building those kitchen cabinets for me he started a few years back. They came out so nice and our kitchen looks so much bigger now!!! We got the new granite and quartz countertops and the next step is the backsplash, which is something I have to try to make time for to decide!!

RILEY, our border collie is still with us. He will be 15yrs in May, if he makes it that long! God willing he will. He is much slower, losing his hearing, can't make it up the stairs, is ravenous about food, and still thinks he is a puppy when he runs out in the snow. Of course he pays dearly for it if he does. He has trouble getting up, especially after running in the snow. Dennis carries him up the stairs every night so he can sleep in the room with us. It is kind of necessary as we tried to leave him downstairs and he just barks till Dennis goes and gets him. Yes he is still quite head strong! So we are thankful for each day he is still with us...........as we know each day is a blessing. He can be a challenge, but the alternative of him not being around is an awful thought!

So enough about me.............and off to the Doctor's we go. Praying for a "clear" report for Dennis today

Wishing everyone a beautiful day of sunshine......whether external or internal!! Let the light shine!!!

Linda said...

And where is HODA?? I will have to look her up on FB and see what she is up to these days. Maybe she just hasn't posted in the 24+ hours that I've been back.

Sorry about the long winded comments........but I thought a bit of an update was fitting!!!

XOXOXO

Love my coffee and this is an early morning for me. The newspaper is being delivered once again. I really dislike reading it online but could get use to if I had to.

Everyone have a very good day and stay safe if you are out and about. Hope you can get some bowling practice today Shirley. Have a good day at school Sandi. My thoughts are with all of you individually - what a group we are!

Shirley, maybe just some practice bowling?

As for Hoda, she is doing great but we keep up with her mostly on fb. She seldom posts here. Need to let her know of your posts here. And, we need more of Margy and Wanda, too!

Going to be a yard work afternoon. Waiting for it to warm up a bit!

LINDA, I think I can speak for all of us when I say, you've made our day! The news of your sons, your ex, your business life, home repairs....all good! Prayers will continue for Dennis as he continues the fight against a formidable force. Do keep in touch and know that we understand that you get crazy busy sometimes, but we revel in the knowledge that you'll be back! Thank you for your lovely compliment, too!

JO, 100% GOOD? That is music to my ears! Yeah for those comfort foods!

LOLLY, losing 10#'s is wonderful good! Yes, you can rid yourself of 10 more. You've shown that kind of will power before.

JUDIE, setting my oven on self clean is on the agenda for the next freezing cold night. I don't use the thing as often as you do and find a once a year cleaning suffices. The part of the process I hate is cleaning the inside of the glass window, but a baking soda and vinegar paste makes it a bit easier.

Speaking of household hints and most of you know how I love them---as in umpteen things you can accomplish around the house with vodka or WD40 or masking tape....
A cousin and family genealogist has discovered that Heloise and daughter are cousins several times removed. Their father/grandfather was my paternal grandmother's uncle. The column is in our paper on Sundays and a highlight of the day for me. Guess it's in my DNA.

SHIRLEY, hope you and Val able to meet at the Alley today!

SANDI, so glad no one was in that carport with the snow took it down! Yours was a short n' sweet post this a.m.. Hope you're having a greyt day at school! LINDA may need an explanation re:our use of "greyt", eh?

Time for a dog walk. Not bad today. Sunny with a high of 37° expected. Funny how warm that seems after those single digit days!

Prayers for all in need!!!

SO SO good to see LINDA back where she belongs and I also agree there are a few others that need to be drug back for one LORI Where are you??? Margy and Wanda and Jewel were such a sight for sore eyes seeing their names on here Loved they stopped in. Feels like ole times WELCOME BACK

LINDA I am retiring within the next couple of weeks. The official day will be Feb 15 but I have one week and two days vacation that I am taking for the last of it. So I only have THREE 3 days of work next week and that is it!!!
I don't think anyone at works has put 2 and 2 together knowing I won't be there at the end yet. I am turning in my two week notice on Sun 31st to be official Then I work Sun Mon Tue and off Wed to get the last appt on my dentist then I will be complete with him with the exceptions of cleaning every 6 months. I guess you could say I am sneaking out Don't want a scene of tears and emotions LOL I guess. I have worked with some of these associate for 25 1/2 years.
My boss keeps ;hoping I change my mind. NOT!!! That is why he thinks I haven't turned in notice yet. LOL

Been out and about in the miserable dreary misty rainy day. almost 3 inches so far of the drizzle rain. Had lunch with Angie after I was out thrift shopping Looking for boots for Jordyn found two pairs but one size to big. But she can grown in to them The Daddy Daughter dance theme is Boots and Bling Hence needing boots She has one pair of silver boots Carl calls then her go go boots LOL
I don't mind buying kids shoes since the don't out wear them they out grow first. Have gotten almost new looking ones in past. Also the cool part is after she out grows them Angie passes on either to a friend or SIL Jordyn has so cool shoes pumps and sandals

Good afternoon.

Yes, Jo. I think I was overly tired and read your post thinking your news of Lydia was your own news. Sorry for causing concern for others. However, snowboarding is still not allowed.

JudyE, get out while the gettin' is good. Walmart is closing many, many stores and has backed out of a deal for three new stores in the poorest sections of DC. There are some angry people because of lost jobs, lost job opportunities and lost shopping opportunities for those who are unable to drive or are not so mobile. Hope Jordyn's father-daughter dance is a huge success.

Lolly, congratulations. Keep up the will power.

Kay, I only let the oven clean itself about once a year unless I've made huge messes. I, too, dislike cleaning the glass. My solution = 409 and SOS. Unlike Lolly, I detest domestic work. How cool about Heloise. Maybe you should get in touch. That would be fun.

JUDIE there are big changes also with Walmart and their sick time holiday pay time off just starting in a month or so - I got the packet in the mail But not going to read it Doesn't apply to me being I am retiring from there!!! But lots of people at work are talking about it One came up to me and said are you upset on loosing your time and a half on Sun I laughed and said NO They weren't aware of my close date coming up. They all know its by March but not the exact date yet That was waiting for my dental Which is now done!!!
The pay scale is gone up to start 10.50 and nest year 11.50 to start and everyone will be making that also if they don't by them the cap for the building will be 24.?? I am happy to be getting out of there They are as well as all company looking out for themselves bottom line etc.

I do get to keep my discount card (10% off) for life just have to fax them with info Mon of my end date.
