Good afternoon.

Thank you Steve for the fresh Tuesday thread.

Congratulations to JudyE on her new feather.

Just spoke with a friend in Houston. She and all the family are safe. Worst of the storm centered on the downtown Houston area. She did say it was seriously scary, though.

So, now off to look for some mischief for the afternoon.

Eaglets looking good but are, sometimes, hard to locate as they migrate closer and closer to the Sycamore branches.

Bye

Found the new thread.

I didn't know there hadn't been much food delivered. That makes me sad. Can someone go to market and buy a bunch of fish and deliver it to the Sycamore Palace?

NCSuzan said...

I am as guilty as others when it comes to FB. I fought tooth and nail about going there but since moving from the coast, friends etc. felt it was a way to stay in touch. Like here I post rarely but always check in daily. Gives me something to do when on the nebulizer so many times a day! I sincerely hope this blog never ceases. It offers us a sense of privacy and closeness that is totally unavailable on FB. My two cents.

Kay, you're right. The cubs must have felt the need to nap when I posted their site! They are just too cute.

Lynne2 said...

Facebook surely serves a good purpose but it's not easy to carry a running conversation over there!

I think this not delivering food so regularly has happened every year as the babes get closer to fledge time...they are not growing SO fast at this point and they need incentive to leave the nest. But no doubt the muddy river isn't helping!

Lynne2 said...

Facebook can be a bit frustrating as well. You always have to make SURE that you are in Recent Post Mode and not in Top Stories Mode, and also check your pages feed often. SO much doesn't make it to the News Feed which I find highly annoying.

Lynne2 said...

Anyone following Dorothy and E2 in Pittsburgh? Her one chick that did hatch has something really wrong with it. He isn't upright most of the time but on his back. She is still feeding and nurturing him, though.

Hi all!

Jenni seems to be doing better today. She and Bella had some very full anal glands and some very long nails but they now have happy butts and happy feet.

I go onto Facebook every day but the blog has a completely different feel to it - more personal. And I'm not a big fan of the Eaglet Momster chat on Facebook; I just don't have time to keep up with that AND the blog, so I choose the blog.

Testing was boring; another day tomorrow for make-ups for the kids who were absent today.

Time to check the box on this new thread and then fix food for people and pets.

grannyblt said...

Thank you for the new thread.

I have been trying to post more here, but my life doesn't hold much of interest. Not whining, just saying. I also check FB, but don't initiate many conversations there. I like FB for keeping up with family and friends. The only FB friends I have that I haven't met face to face are from here.I feel this forum is somehow more private.

And while I am talking FB, I have seen many pictures from my old stomping grounds of the terrible flooding in Houston. Please say a prayer for those faced with cleanup tasks and to comfort the families of those who lost their lives.. My former next door neighbor said she got around 11 inches of rain last night, but only street flooding. She wisely has not ventured out to view the flooding for herself.

I guess our eaglets will be branching soon--another season will come to an end.

I've just returned home from visiting daughter and the 5 great grands. Wonderful time -
best cantaloupe ever and then some red-white-blue cake with ice cream!

Suzan - 2 days after the prednisone I was not coughing. It is the only sure thing to
dry up the lungs. I really feel great.

I use my FB a good bit. Mainly to pull up all my kids and grandkids and keep in touch with them. Then I have 2 Eagle groups I enjoy and have learned to know most of them.
I have the COPD group and the TBI group - they are private groups and very helpful info from those who comment and at times I can offer info to help them. There are certain things I don't care for on FB. I read and comment on our blog morning, afternoon, evening and night! You all are my friends and I love you dearly....♥

JudyEddy said...

NCSuzan said...

Jo, yes prednisone is powerful. So happy that cough is gone and that you feel so good.

I'm boring also. I look forward to you guys for entertainment and life events! Feel like I have been to Italy with Lolly and am looking forward to Shirley's trip abroad. Jo's family picnics and gatherings, Paula's life changing experiences, yeah with you guys it is ok that I have no life!! LOL And that's not all of you!!

Mema Jo said...

Radiation Treatments does not make it hazardous to be around small children and pregnant women. HOWEVER: PET SCAN is when you will receive an injection of radiopharmaceutical. It will take approximately 60 minutes to distribute throughout your body. You should limit and really avoid for the remainder of the day of you PET Scan being in the presence of young children and pregnant women.

Judy, the radiation treatments like my Cyber-Knife for the cancer held no threat to
anyone. I pray your friend was not misinformed.

JudyEddy said...

COPD group is what that was to say I powered up the tablet Its charging Listening to 500 question don't really need to watch it LOL
I love the white tip on the tails of our eagle now so cute the little tails are one is in middle of nest other is talons at 11

MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND SET YOUR ALARMS (I am still in Love with Dr Sharpe ♥)

Watch Live! – Banding day at IWS Two Harbors and West End, Wed and Thurs!
May 26, 2015 — bald eagle, banding, birds, eaglecam, eagleholic, IWS, nature, raptors, Two Harbors, West End

The schedule may change, but the current plan is to band at the Two Harbors nest on Wednesday the 27th, early afternoon Pacific Time, and then West End Thursday the 28th in the morning. The plan is also to stream the bandings live on the eaglecams. Link to cams: http://www.iws.org/interactive_nestchat_allUstream.html

Here is the note from Dr. Sharpe of IWS as of about 3pm Pacific time this afternoon (Tue): “I need to fly out to San Clemente Island on Thursday afternoon, so I will band the Two Harbors chick tomorrow in the early afternoon (can’t leave Avalon until around noon) and will band the West End on Thursday morning around 10 am or so.”

Good evening everyone.

Scullery returned to order. Easy. Leftovers from last night.

Banding at Two Harbors and West End should be exciting. Climbing those cliffs is scary stuff.

Will venture out tomorrow on my own. Not going far. Will drive to get my "do" did. See how that goes. Then, big adventure will be foraging on Thursday to see if I can walk and push a cart without having to stop to wait for pain to stop. I'll keep you all posted.

Jo, so glad you had fun with the family today. Oh, cantaloupe offsets any calories from the cake. Yep. Most people don't know that. lol

Shirley, hope bowling was fun. Well, it surely must have been with Val and Julie.

Sandperson is pacing the hallway. Getting ready for take-off. Early to the pillows for me.

Restful sleep for all.

Lynne2 said...

OH! Here are some interesting tidbits...

Our hospital cat has had 4 chemo treatments and the Docs did an ultrasound today.....the masses are SHRINKING!

And....in news never to be mentioned on FB....I believe the kennel may have been sold. Strange doings around here. The boss moved off of the property siting that if she "didn't live here she might not hate it as much" and then she would come several times a week and be more present. SO they bought a house in January, completely remolded it, just moved in and now it's for sale. HMMMMM But now it's OFF the website...well, it's still there, but no asking price any more. One of our clients told us! LOL! So I asked her and she said yes they were selling it and maybe moving to FLA and maybe moving back here in the interim and was being very evasive when I asked if she had a buyer for the kennel yet. HA! SO, being the small town that it is, and that the veterinary community is even smaller, and gossipy...LOL! we heard today that a vet that has a practice about a half hour from here and a race horse farm in PA will be the presumed buyer. Seems he wants to redo this place to make it wonderful like another kennel owned by another vet in the area. OMG! Not sure yet what this means for US and of course we've had no official word. But the boss has NOT been here working as she said she would be and says she "has SO much stuff going on right now". LOL! The rumor mill has advised that no changes to staff will be made, at least not right away.

Mema Jo said...

Lynne I hope things turn out well for you at work with a new owner.

Hurray for the chemo cat shrinkage !

Lynne2 said...

Thanks Jo! The cat is defying the odds, and the kennel being sold would be a true blessing as things here are NOT good.

Goodorming my eagle friends. I went to bed at 8pm last night - couldn't even think, I was so tired! And it was my first work day of the week!

Judy, my graduating class had about 500 in it - graduation was in 2 nights in the auditorium. Grew up in the suburbs of Baltimore.

Lynne2, your life is FAR from boring!! Hope the sale of the kennel is a good thing for you and Steve. Oh, and how do you remold a home??

Lolly, safe travels - maybe we'll see you on the blog today.

Judie, prayers for a pain-free trip to the hair salon today.

Have agreat one!

Good morning.

Before I leave to go out in the world:

Looks as if one eaglet is on a branch just beyond the crib rail and one (talons) on the crib rain.

Lynne2, hope the cat beats the odds and especially hopeful that any personnel changes will not negatively affect you with all the rumored changes. Oh, the link did not work but I appreciate the thought. I think one needs to be a Facebooker - access denied.

Welcome home Lolly. Glad you and Jack had a wonderous time. Hope Skippi was happy to see you.

Okay, will let you all know how it goes this morning. There really should be only two outcomes: tidier hair and the joy of reducing cabin fever.

Wishing everyone a fantastic day.

Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

Had a stormy evening and night, more expected this afternoon, so making hay while the sun shines!

LYNNE2, the link did work for me (I highlighted it, right clicked the mouse requesting "open link" and viola`)and the pics are wonderful---what a ball those dogs had, humans, too, no doubt! Here's hoping once the dust settles you'll find yourself in a very good spot, employment and residence wise. Perhaps you'll get a chance to sell yourselves and the asset you are to them. Remember they need you every bit as much as you need the positions you hold currently!

JANET, give Olivia some big Momster hugs as we all wish her a HAPPY DAY!!!

JUDIE, my hope is that you return from your outing with a beauteous do and pain free!

SANDI, glad you got a good nights sleep after those kids just plumb wore you out!

JO, your current do sounds downright cute! It was grand reading about your time with the kids yesterday. Hmmmm, I love cantaloupe and vanilla ice cream. From about age 9 to 16 I went to a summer camp in Prescott, AZ. The grand finale last dessert of the week was a half melon with a large scoop of ice cream in it's cup for each of us. What a treat! Partially made possible because the camp was heavily supported by a family of cantaloupe growers who farmed in Yuma, AZ. Memories.....

Welcome home ELLIS'es! Lots of rain while you were away and I hope it was beneficial rather than devastating for you and your family. Sad, sad news out of the Houston area especially.

Yesterday I did myself in just going out for the do. I didn't have the energy to go to Wally World, but stopped by a nursery in search of plants. Proceeded to have an asthma attack, apparently very allergic to something there. Got myself home and crashed for the rest of the day, except for Penny's outings. I try to stay positive about this aging process, but sometimes the lack of oomph really gets to me!

Time to pay some bills, fold some clothes and go into lurk mode with our eaglets.

Prayers for all in need!!!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Sandi-Remolding a house requires a very special touch. You have to make sure you have exactly the right molds to start with, and then create the best environment to place them so that they will flourish....LOL!

Jo, WOW it's Flushing of the Port Day! WOO HOO! Funny about your hair...my ex boyfriend of years ago had a sister who fought and won against cancer. HER hair grew in so thick and curly too! Wonder what causes that?

Well, I'm off to buy pig food, a metal trash can to put it in. When the boss moved and took her cats with her, the rodent population is getting out of control in the barn. The rats ate a HUGE hole in a very thick plastic bin. GGRRRRR!

NatureNut said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds! See our "chicks" are getting very active. When home, I've been outside playing w/plants. Been wanting to write while at the Park, but NO---the phone keeps ringing.
Our Osprey cam was not online yesterday, so I rebooted the computer in the closet and it came back except on my computer! DUH We have the big screen tho, right from the river. I saw one O chick, but after I got home people had seen TWO!!!This is not the same nest that was shown before on UStream--we show two, one at a time.
Our eagle nest is not visible at all! I'm sure big baby should be branching. Will have to crawl through the jungle and see if there's a view. We need the beaver to return!!
Hope all the crummy weather in south has spared everyone. My daughter said the deer walking through the yard kept putting their noses down and nibbling. They were drinking water off the grass!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OLIVIA!!☺,
Jo, glad you've got curly hair! I've heard of that before!
Hope Lolly had a good trip.
Lynne2, hope you get to stay at farm, since you and Steve know all about taking care of things. You two would be assets.
Have a great day-----I get to go to the dentist--duh

Good evening all. Watched our eaglets for a bit this afternoon while on my laptop.

I graduated from high school in a class of 100 or so. That was so long ago (64) I can't remember the exact number. My children were in classes of several hundred.

Sandi, interesting about cell phones/gas pumps. I had that misconception I guess from the pictures near the pump.

Happy Birthday to Livvy. 14 is such a fun age.

I will see you in the morning Jo. I have blood work also. I'm always hungry when I have that 14 hour fast. No coffee in the am is the worst part. Then on to get a much needed haircut.

SED to all

I watch my oldest with her 3 young ens and remember the days. she is so tired and stressed out.....its difficult being a mom to 3 young ens.

chris is tired. he goes to school and works full time. long days.

oh, the post office called tonight regarding Olivia's ipod. after investigating, they have no idea where it is.

gee thanks.

so I told livvy we will get this settled out and she will get her ipod. she seemed very pleased to be getting one.

Well, Darth went off to a marathon of meetings and I fell down asleep. Stupid Sandperson.

So, here I am to wish Jo a very uneventful visit with Dracula tomorrow.

Sandperso left me a note stating departure has already occurred. Sandperson is totally out of control.

Headed for pillows. Prior sleep was in my recliner.

Restful sleep for all.

Good to know about the cell phones! But why then do the gas pumps have the warnings about them on them?

Got my mammo results, have to go for an ultrasound. GRRRRR. The nodules they see, they ALWAYS see. I have cysts all the time. SO annoying. Endometrial biopsy was normal. NO sign of menopause according to bloodwork. REALLY????? UGH!!! I'm a tiny bit anemic. Overall, I'm in good shape!

I recently had a discussion with my cardio Dr. My back is way to painful to not take Aleve so I told her that I was going to stop taking the Rat Poison so that I could go back to my Aleve. I told her that I decided that quality of life was more important that quantity. She decided that I shouldn't stop the warfarin and with some hesitation, lots of warnings of what to be aware of, and a defeated look (or was I imagining that?) she agreed that I could take it. WOO HOO! I haven't felt this good in a LONG time!

Wonder where Lolly and Jack are right now? I wish I had asked for her flight numbers so I could track them! Yes, boring I know, but watching the grass grow isn't much fun since it is NOT really growing due to lack of rain.

off to shower the stink of the day away and get to bed. I just heard from one of my coworkers that both tomorrow and Friday are already completely booked.

Have a good night everyone!

Ok Folks. A boring person talking to herself does not make for an interesting blog. And I cannot get the cam to stay on so I have no eagle report. Hurry over!
