Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

So happy to have another feather---it's been a long time.

Nothing new here, just planning to enjoy another lovely day before several days with rain ensues.

Will be lurking and looking for word from JO!

Love and prayers for all !!!

Good morning to all ♥

With Steve on vacation I think we have an automated fresh new thread!

Congratulations KAY ! Whoo Hoo!
Good way to start your day.

The sky looks like Rain.. I have a
huge mum on the front porch that my grandson brought me from the nursery. It is ready to burst into bloom.

Yes indeedy - I'll be on again after the dr appointment. Thanks for all the prayers - of course I'm praying for good news. I will accept the report from the CT and take it from there with all of you having my Back ♥

Need to look at old thread - I have missed some "early bird" comments.

Judie said...

Good morning.

Thank you Steve for the Wednesday thread.

♪♫ Kay has a feather. Kay has a feather.♪♫ Congratulations.

Thinking of Jo. Prayers for a good news report.

Sandi, do hope the new principal will look at the larger picture aka teacher impact.

Darth has decided to make some improvements in the back yard and some update to the front. Today is flower/shrub research day for me. Want to Google pictures of plants/shrubs. Want to attract birds, bees, butterflies, hummingbirds.

Wishing everyone a lovely morning.

Mema Jo said...

Sandi - sounds as though new principal is going to make it or break it..... I hope you teachers can whip him into realistic shape.
Hoping he is OPEN to comments from the pros.

grannyblt said...

Good morning all.

Yes Jo we have your back.

grannyblt said...

Judie, sounds as if Darth is planning to stay in the house, unless he is thinking of sprucing up before sale? None of my business, of course.

Judie said...

Lynne, I think the motivation is for sale. Otherwise, expense would be considered unnecessary. He mentioned to the landscape woman maybe selling in two years. Well, by then he will be nearly 80 and I will be 72. Drive right on past the cottages and go directly to assisted living. lol Still, I will enjoy the new plantings as all are attractive to birds, bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Sorry for the long response.

Okay, off to do more looking at colors and growth patterns.

Good afternoon to all ♥

The visit today had good results.

The 6.6 cm spot had shrunk to 2.4cm

Tomorrow I go over to radiation for him to make the call the treatment:
1) cyberknife
2) radiation
3) radiation and chemo combined

The doctor was very pleased with progress and so were we....

stronghunter said...

Good news, Jo!

Now on to the next step.

grannyblt said...

Wonderful News. You can do this.

Mema Jo said...

Couldn't do it as well as I am simply because I have all of your
encouragement.

NCSuzan said...

Jo, that is encouraging news. It is headed in the right direction! Now put those feet up and get some rest!

Sandi said...

Hi all - home from school and a long faculty meeting.

Jo, what terrific news about the tumor shrinking so much!! Wow, it would be great if the cyberknife surgery could get the rest of it! Prayers continue for you!

Judie, encouraging thinking from Darth - maybe his timeline for selling will be sooner than you think.

Lots of school work to do - I need to start touching base with the parents of the 16 kids on my caseload just to introduce myself and ask them to share what works with/motivates their child. Will try to make 4-5 phone calls a night.

Also need to work on an IEP revision for a student whose case manager in 7th grade missed something. Once that's done, I have 2 boys who are new to DE so they need completely new IEPs written by 9/30.

Judie said...

Excellent news Jo. The momster army is a powerful force. We will be with you tomorrow.

Janet said...

good evening all.

so happy about JO's news!!!!

its been a quiet day around here. Livvy and I went for a walk @ 7 this morning again. we did just a bit over a mile.

I saw my private clients and then headed home.

Did not go to the "new" job today as they have some kind of a glitch with regards to getting the intern clinic opened. That was okay, because I was on day 3 with this headache. :P yuck.

I took some stuff and laid down and napped til the vet called.

Dr. K said that it looks like lymphosarcoma.....BUT there wasn't enough of a sample to tell for certain. so we needed to aspirate some more. at no charge.

so this afternoon @ 3 I medicated sable up and took her in @ 4. she was able to get what she termed a "good" sample and then we went home. I had taken sable's nice thick cushy memory foam pillow with us and we sat/laid on it together.

We did some school stuff today, and backwashed the pool. Really, I haven't done much else.

Back to work tomorrow. Rain in the forecast. Woo hoo.

Have a good evening to all!

Light, love, hugs and smiles!

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Wow, Hoda, snow already. I did see a weather forecast that said we are going to have a very cold and snowy winter and everyone should stock up on milk and bread immediately.

Hey folks, my bowling team is still in first place. Our fourth member just started this week, and she is an excellent bowler. Saved us a few times. Unfortunately, she will be leaving in November. We need to get all of the points we can before she goes. :)

Judie said...

Good morning.

Hoda, I will check the accuracy on Sandperson's timepiece. He may have been a bit low on sleepy dust as he made a special delivery to Jo. Sandperson apoligizes.

SNOW? WOOLEN SOCKS? Please tell us you have put away the sandals! Brrrrr! Supposed to be 97º here with awful humidity.

Janet, hope the treatment for Sable will be effective, if treatment you decide.

Shirley, such good news on the bowling. How's Luna doing?

Going to have a sleep study done on the 25th. Need to look for something decent to wear. Perhaps something made of fishnet with tassels? Well, okay. I'll try to find some new sweats.

Okay, off to contemplate the day. Wishing everyone a good morning.

Mema Jo said...

Good Morning to all ♥

Judie - a pair of purple satin pj's may help ace that Sleep test. I'll
be thinking of you on the 25th.

Shirley - great news about your team - can anyone bowl for you 4th roller once she leaves?

Snow - winter coats and especially Woolen socks - what about sandals?
Hoda, I saw on FB about the beautiful yellow bike being stolen - I really hope they spot it and it is returned to the lady.

Sandi - I hope you have a restful weekend coming up so you can rest your mind and body! Have they started the landscaping at your home yet?

Where is JUDY this am... ?

Mema Jo said...

FYI - Saturday the 13th we are celebrating Miracle Michael's b-day.
Our family has much for which to be thankful. We'll have a b-day cake at the reunion for all our Sept
b-days. Sure hope it isn't as chilly or rainy that day as what the forecast calls.

Kay said...

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

Hadn't been on for a while as storms passed through, but am Happy, Happy, Happy to know about the great improvement, JO! Momster prayers continue---put together with those of family and friends and complete healing is a cinch! Will be thinking extra special thoughts of the Lennox family and dear Miracle Michael on the 13th.

JUDIE, be sure the Sandman does right by you on the 25th so the docs can see exactly how well, or not, you sleep! Sweats? Naw, go for something like the purple silk p.j.'s JO suggested.

HODA, happy to leave the snow to you folks up in the far northwest. Our temp is now 61° with only a high of 70° expected. Such temps and a bit of rain in the 7 day forecast. Snow will come soon enough in these parts! I don't want to don socks anytime soon.

SANDI, hope you have a restful weekend planned!

Love and prayers for all!!!

Lolly said...

Good morning! Oh, lets do hope Hoda has put away the sandals. Do not want to even think of woolen socks with sandals. LOL

79, think front has not gotten here. All rain with this front went north and east of us. So, what else is new? It is cloudy!

We leave abut 3:30 for football over 100 miles from here. Sister and BIL arrive while we are gone. I am such a great hostess! Who do I disappoint sister or grandson? Picked sister this time, grandson tomorrow. Sigh....

Janet said...

good very late almost afternoon morning.

I am at Chelsea's house. She is still under the weather so I arranged to work sunday and come over here today to handle the kiddos.

Took Chelsea to a minute clinic @ Krogers this am. She has a nasty virus that is morphing into a sinus infection. So, doc has her on some meds. I did some basic touch ups to the house, have her lying down, and Livvy, Lorelei and I are watching tv and chilling on this liquid sunshiny day.

As for Sable, thank you. But, here's my thinking. The old gal is 15 years old. Chemo therapy is literally putting a chemical poison into a body. I'm not willing to do that to her. Not at 15. how selfish can I be? To ask that of her? I will keep her comfortable, whatever that means until the Rainbow Bridge beacons to her....I am sure Luke, Red Dog and others are there waiting to greet her and love her.

For the moment, it is not a decision that needs to be made....and I am sure Dr K will give me a general time line......and I will love her and hug her each and every day....

Other than that, not a lot else.

thankful I have an understanding boss....

HODA has FROZEN sunshine? Is this correct??????? hot tea time!

JUDIE: maybe what you need is some tye dye jammies, with woolen socks and sandals to wear to your apt?????? :) :) :)

STRONGHUNTER: congrats on first!!!!

JO: I know you will celebrate Miracle Michael's bday with style and gratitude

Okay, off to play on the computer, before I feed the young en and we both lie down for a snoozer! :)

Shirley I wish Suzie could see her.

Mema Jo said...

Bugger - Bao Bao's momma climbed up and actully stole her apple. NOT NICE

stronghunter said...

Will have to check with Suzi to see if she might be watching Bao
bao, Judie. Quite possibly she is. Sizi has two job interviews this week. She wants to get out of retail. Not sure what kinds of jobs she is looking at, but probably government work of some kind.

She's supposed to come here for a visit on Saturday.

I understand your decision regarding Sable, Janet. Many of us have been there.

Hmm, not nice for sure, Jo.

Happy birthday to Michael.

I guess we might be doing some travel for football this season, too, Lolly. As for now, I need to tell Hunter to make his equipment travel up to his room. Right now, I am looking at shoulder pads, a practice jersey, and a helmet on the sofa. The cleats are on the floor nearby.

stronghunter said...

We have a couple of people who might join us for bowling in November. One of them is my friend Martha. I would love to have her on the team, though I don't expect she is as good a bowler as Linda. Martha is a good friend and a very nice person.

stronghunter said...

Very sunny and plenty warm enough here today. The cell phone says it's 79 degrees.

There was something about thunderstorms this afternoon, but I don't see anything threatening right now.

Learned that the light I have on the street is not a "street light." It is a "dusk-to-dawn light." Was just told that by a Dominion Virginia Power person when I reported that it is not working. She said they would come repair it sometime. I asked when. She said that they do not make promises.

Well, I am paying for this light. If they do not come soon, I will be calling to say that I do not want to pay for something I do not have. I will be able to remember I called on 9/11.

Judie said...

My goodness. Such a feisty bunch this afternoon.

Apple snatching at the Panda house; Shirley threatening the power company and Hunter; Hoda no doubt threatening to continue to wear sandals with her woolen socks. Whew!

Quiet day here. Shirley, look over toward D.C. and you will likely see an overcast sky. Will send the storm your way. Hope you get a good bowling replacement in November. Also, hoping that Susan finds just what she's looking for.

Janet, we all understand about Sable. You know what is best.

I get the sense that fishnet and tassels are not meeting with approval. How about tie-died purple silk? Should I wear woolen socks? Sandals? What if there is a serial killer watching me sleep? I do NOT want to do this. Cancel? Not a chance = $250 fee.

Lolly, hope the game is a winner. Have fun with sis and bil.

Jo, will send Michael an e-card to your email address.

Looks like a few more clouds now, Judie. Maybe we will get some rain later.

Anthony came home with Hunter this afternoon. It seems Anthony had a disagreement with his sister and wants to take refuge here. (Anthony lives down the street and he and his high-school aged sister are home alone while Mom is at work.) Anthony is a sweet kid a few years younger than Hunter. So funny: Hunter told Anthony he had to do all of his homework first. Then he helped Anthony some, with the warning that he would not be able to help him when he's in 8th grade because they had to sign an honor pledge.

Then, Hunter and Anthony did Hunter's chores, which included Hunter taking his football gear up to his room.

Awhile later, Chris showed up. (He's new to me.) There seems to be a good time going on in Hunter's room.

stronghunter said...

I am confused about fishnet and tassels, serial killers and $250 fees.

Judie said...

Shirley, what a wondrous event has occurred. Interesting how lessons we think went unheeded pop up when we least it expect it. lol

As for the wardrobe, those were suggestions earlier about what I should wear for my sleep study. My joke is that I will be asleep in a strange place with someone "watching" me.

Off to the scullery. Grilled salmon, asparagus, sliced tomatoes.

grannyblt said...

I think our Jufie is going undercover, at the Sleep clinic.

Mema Jo said...

I am home from meeting with the Radiation dr. It is going to be 5
Cyberknife treatments of a low radiation dosage. Also I am going to do one more 3-day chemo before those treatments. I am satisfied with this decision as it sounds like a good plan. Time schedule isn't know yet. By tomorrow I'll have dates for the chemo and then we'll go from there.

Mema Jo said...

Shirley - I hope Anthony's older sister knows he is at your house and didn't miss the bus....
Bowling - If Linda can roll then perhaps Martha can be score keeper unless that is done electronically.

Mema Jo said...

I'll be sure Michael gets any/all
birthday wishes on here or in email.
He is on FB also

stronghunter said...

Hi,

Jo,

I was told that Anthony's sister knew where he was and that his mom okayed the plan. I think his sister was happy to be rid of her kid brother for awhile.

Glad to know that plans are being made for your treatment.

Linda spends her winters in Phoenix, so she will be leaving in November. Martha just bought a new house and her husband is undergoing serious surgery, so she could not start bowling in September.

Oh, it was for the sleep study. I suggest something very comfortable so that you might actually sleep.

stronghunter said...

Oh Judie, I almost showed up at your house. Kathryn and Hunter aren't fond of salmon and asparagus. They're two of my favorite foods. Hunter will eat sliced tomatoes, but Kathryn will not. Again, fresh sliced fresh tomatoes are on my list of favorites.

Judie said...

Shirley, you would have been most welcome. I am NOT a fan of salmon but Darth is so he got all but about two tablespoons. I do like asparagus and tomatoes. Anyway, hope your dinner was enjoyable.

Headed to the pillows early. Must go tomorrow to search for lavender silk tie dyed jammies with fishnet and tassels. Uh, somehow, I think a lighweight sweatshirt and long sweatpants are better choice- would not want to entice the serial killer. lol

Headed to the pillows early. Sandperson is in the hall closet packing a satchel (I think I saw some woolen socks but no sandals) before heading to visit you all.

Night light is on. Restful sleep for all.

stronghunter said...

Goodorming my eagle friends - it's Friday!!

Jo, sounds like the doctors have a good plan! I'm so happy to hear that they think the cyberknife can remove the remaining cancer after chemo is finished! Prayers continue for you.

My favorite teacher has done/said something to enrage the new principal, vice principal, and district office. Looong story. It's hard to fire a teacher so that probably won't happen but I hope she is reprimanded to the point that she will just keep her mouth shut for a while. My guess is she will take a "sick day" today. Works for me!

Have agreat day all.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Yikes, Hoda. Thirty-nine degrees is more than a tad chilly.

Got Hunter out the door in time to catch the bus even though he says he has some back pain. Found Luna's cone in the backyard. All is well.

This afternoon brings the math tutor and football practice. Things will be busy.

Happy Red Friday, everyone!

stronghunter said...

Oh my, Sandi. It sounds like your "favorite" teacher is starting off on the wrong foot. My goodness!

stronghunter said...

And, by the way, Hunter's outfit was very color-coordinated. He has been pretty much coordinated every morning. Yesterday it was due to his mom. :) She convinced him that he really should not wear the camouflage shirt with the bright yellow and black print shorts.

Judie said...

Good morning.

Jo, I sure hope those tomatoes are the tastiest ever in the world. Enjoy.

Shirley, sounds as if you and Kathryn have things under control. Hunter is just too funny (for an observer).

Yikes! 39º is just flat out cold. Brrrrrr! Cooler here this morning but lots of lovely sunshine, blue sky, white clouds and lots warmer than the brownie capitol of the world.

Sandi, any possibility your "favorite" teacher will go elsewhere?

Will go today to look for jammies and do some foraging. Isn't it sad that if I want to run away from home I have to go grocery shopping? lol

Wishing everyone a lovely morning.
