Goodorming Margie! Thanks for the call over. Thanks Steve for the new thread!

I read that great news about Lori's last clinical day on FB - home stretch time for her!

Didn't Shirley say something about being without a computer and having to use Kathryn's? Maybe that's why she's MIA?

Thanks Steve and also Margy I'm happy to see you stopping by here with such a busy schedule.

Lunch today with Jenny - Subway
Expecting phone call from gd coming up from Northern VA for a visit. Sure
hope she can make it... Miss her.

I already watered my outside pots, Lolly this early morning. Already 82° mid morning. Doesn't call for rain nos until Thurs. Time to cut the grass - Hubby went to donate blood - seems to always be a summer shortage.

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

Thanks to STEVE for the spankin' new thread and to MARGY for the heads up !

Thanks to all for the good wishes on my behalf. I feel like this day is another big leap day ! Yeah !

Congrats to JO who is looking forward to the arrival of a little boy, ggc#13 !!!!

SANDI, the Jenni report from the vet is great for she's not a young girl after all. Once the dental work is done you may have a peppier pal !

LORI, LORI, LORI !!! You are an amazing woman and I hope you know how proud of you we all are ! I know your parents and family are in awe of this feat just as we are ! I thought of you often during my recent week in the hospital---talked to my nurses about their training---I had nothing but A-One nurses throughout and I know you'll be just like those wonderful, caring women who nursed me through a very difficult time.

HODA, what a difference 300 miles can make, eh ? Reminds me of my home State, AZ. 400 miles north to south and every kind of clime from lush forest to desert with it's cacti n' rattlesnakes ! Sounds like you're in a great place for a winter retreat rather than a summer vacation !

JUDYE, so glad you're able to put a shirt on now ! Progress !

SHIRLEY, I'm missing you, too !

JUDIE, your comments on all topics are always spot on and I enjoy your humor so much !

Love and prayers for all !!!

Good morning all.

Nest MT of birds when I checked a while ago.

Yesterday was very hot and humid here. Today humid and rain at 50% getting very warm too. Hope that cool weather Glo mentioned gets here soon

My brother left after breakfast for the next leg of his summer--a family wedding this weekend. He and wife may come back here on their way home. I'm not complaining, but I have been on company alert all month. Brother did all of my list of chores like helping me put the dust ruffle on my bed. And several other small things. It was nice having a day with just the two of us.

Happy that things are going along well enough for all of us.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

stronghunter said...

Okay, I got a phone call from Kathryn that I have been reported missing. Using my phone right now. Will go back and read your posts. Still don't know when my computer will be fixed.

Have been taking Hunter to Y camp every day. Do need to get state inspection and oil change on my car.

Good afternoon.

Thank you Steve for the mid-week fresh thread.

Margy has a feather! Margy has a feather! Thanks for hollerin' at us.

Sheesh! Even too hot for the eagles to finish their food. 94ยบ here. Yuk!

Could we be anymore proud of Lori? Nope. She will now become our blogger nurse. Think of all the $ we'll save!

Shirley, so glad you are okay. Was about to call to check on you. How's Hunter doing at camp? How's his appetite?

Lynne's brother is a handyman? Well, how about his making a visit to the rest of us? Glad you had a good visit and hope he can return for another.

Jo, hope the Jenny visit and Subway were superb. I know the time with Jenny was. Also hope gd makes that visit.

Whay do I have this image of Hoda wandering around a desert? Must send Jufie to locate the nearest RCMP.

"Do" is did. Now to the morning paper and some feets up time.

Second one today.

People in Kamloops are very friendly.
They do have Orchirds.
I are some fruit that was picked today!!!
Delicious.

When I checked the menu and the wine list at the two local restaurants I was considering, both carried a local winery listed as Kamloops.

I was looking for: organic, local, sustainable, gluten free, vegan, and also with local quality beef and lamb from the local ranchers.

The two qualified.
One was a bit more expensive than the other.
In American Standards for a good restaurant not too expensive.
Susan and David are buying me supper.
I decided to go to the not as pricey menu as the quality I believe is as high as the other one.

I made the reservation and they will check for the train's arrival.

I will go to evening yoga before I meet them for supper...

Hoda, so very sorry about the short time you will have with your sister. Still, a little time to hug and say you love each other is the important part.

Sandperson sneaked out and has already visited Jo. So, he's on the way.

Shirley, you have the patience of Job. It would have been Hunter going upstairs to avoid the noise. Hope you can get back for daily visits soon.

Please thank Kathryn for providing us the update. I forgot to mention that earlier.

JudyE, the shirt is progress. Please do not go back to work yet. Take the time to fully heal.

Yum, BBQ. Will be doing some chicken tomorrow night. Too hot to cook inside if avoidable.

Had a brief rain. Now just even more sticky and humid.

Eyes are getting tired. Night light is on. Restful sleep for all.

Monday Laurel and the boys are coming for one or two nights. They are finally getting the new roof on the house after the spring hail storm. They are bringing the dogs. Oh that is going to be interesting. Cosmo has never been here. Taking him out to go potty will be a challenge as there is no fence. Luke stays close, Also, how is Skippi going to react? hmmmm??

Gotta run! See you later!

Oh, in today's Local Living section there was an article about the woodworking shop at Winchester my choice for retirement community. Good afternoon eagle buddies.

On my laptop and can't get live camera. Probably my computer.

Did some shopping this morning for some new undies. You know, the kind we all hate to have to buy. How come you can take 6 garments into the fitting room, all the same size and maker, and only 2 fit? Oh well, won't have to do that for a while.

Weather here is lovely. the temp at least 19 degrees cooler and the humidity much lower.

Today would have been our 50th wedding anniversary, but we only made 42. He was 21 and I was 17--good memories.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

JudyEddy said...

LYNNE I can relate to the fitting room ordeal I did that with bathing suits before we went on vacation all the same size just different styles LOL They say you can never go by sizes all the time different mfg makes a difference

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Gang,

Well, Ken went to the dentist at 11 am today, and he now has the "permanent" bridge as a "temporary" bridge until after our vacation. The dentist doesn't like the color match, and she doesn't like the shape of one of the teeth. I agree with her. I'm SO glad that she's fussy!!!
Ken's just glad that he doesn't have to go on vacation with a big space with no teeth!

I finally finished preparing Emma's food for while she's at "puppy camp". I truly appreciate being able to stay at Sis-in-law's timeshare, but I really wish it did not take so very long to make Emma's meals!
Between cooking the chicken, and the rice, measuring the rice for each meal, weighing the chicken, and dicing it up, it took about 10 or 11 hours to make 8 days worth of meals. They have to be in separate ziploc bags, labeled with Emma's name, the date, and which of the 3 meals per day it is. Sorry to complain--but Sis-in-law feeds Charlee commercial kibble, and is often so busy and rushed that she just buys a bag when she drops her off. Emma's food doesn't do well when frozen--it gets a bunch of frost in it, so I can't make it way ahead of time. We haven't ever been to Colorado, so it will be worth the work. I just hope we don't go anywhere for a while after this.
And bottom line, we get to see the kids again!!!!! Woo-hoo!!!!!

We leave from LAX (Los Angeles) tomorrow morning at 9:40, and fly to Denver. We pick up a rental car, and drive to Vail from there.
The kids are driving from Texas, leaving later today, stopping in
oh, where did they say?--Albuquerque, maybe--for some rest.

Hoda, sorry your visit with your sister will be shorter than planned. I know you'll make the most of the time you do have!

Lynne1, I'm right there with you! I have the same problem when bra shopping, also clothes shopping, and I no longer even own a swimsuit! The one I did have lost its stretch after a while, and I HATE swimsuit shopping!!!!
Maybe someday.

I don't know whether Ken will let me take the laptop along, so not sure when you'll hear from me. I think the kids are bringing their laptop, so maybe I can borrow it.

Lolly, I hope Miss Skippi can manage the dogs!!! Does she have somewhere she can get to that's up high? Jen's siamese gets on top of the kitchen cupboards or the refrigerator.

I don't have time to read back at all right now, so hope I haven't missed anything. ALL of you will be on my prayer list, and I'll be thinking of you! We return from vacation on August 1st, about 9:20 pm. Hope you all have a great week! I ♥ us!!!!

CarolAnne, so good to see you on the blog.

Judy, glad to hear you felt well enough to go out last night. I assume that all kids now get the chicken pox vaccine, right, so Jordan can't get them from your shinglas??

Cottage tour was a success - spent the morning yesterday helping with parking cars at one of the houses on the tour - had a little drizzle here and there but no downpours. Spent the afternoon reading and napping with "the girls." Seeing more of Jenni's personality, which includes barking non-stop when she wants something. So she was introduced to a squirt bottle of water yesterday. She learns very quickly - now, when she barks, I only have to pick up the bottle and say, "No barking" to get her to stop. Also got her to run around the dining room table like Bella does with me chasing her, so she is starting to play. She is interacting a little more with Bella, though I have to remind Bella not to be so "in your face." It's all good - I am really enjoying Jenni and I think she is very happy with us.

Tennis at 8am, then there is a tennis social this afternoon/evening. In between, I need to get to the library to pick up 2 books - The Boys in the Boat (a non-fiction book highly recommended by a friend about a rowing team that trained and competed in the 1936 Olympics) and The First Phone Call from Heaven by Mitch Albom. Has anyone read either one?

Prayers continue for Jo and for Larry.

Have agreat day all!

good RED Friday morning

Wonderful news for LORI
Wonderful that JUDYE is feeling better!

A beautiful morning here.

Gal pals due to arrive this evening. I might be scarce for a few days.

After work, came home and assisted Tom and Olivia in removing the huge pieces of bedrock from around our pool. Tom had broken them up with the jack hammer and with the tractor and wagon, one cart at a time we took them away.

Pool was vacuumed, some time spent in it.

Didn't do a lot. Just tired yesterday and feeling so today again. I went to bed earlier and might just do that again tonight.

Everyone have a lovely day!

Good morning my eagle budlets. Thinking about and praying for you today, Jo. I love you much.

Prayer request: T-Bird is going to Bristol, TN this morning to have an endoscopic ultrasound. She has had Barrett's esophagus (Barrett’s esophagus is a condition in which the tissue lining the esophagus—the muscular tube that carries food and liquids from the mouth to the stomach—is replaced by tissue that is similar to the intestinal lining. This process is called intestinal metaplasia. People with Barrett’s esophagus are at increased risk for a rare type of cancer called esophageal adenocarcinoma) for a few years and on her last EGD, they found marked intestinal metaplasia at the end of her esophagus. They are doing this ultrasound to look at the deeper tissues to make sure there is no other pathology. A friend of hers is taking her. Not sure when we will get the results.

We had to choose between Roanoke, VA or Bristol, TN to get this done because no one around here does them.

I LOVE US!!

I am excited to announce that I may be moving back to TX next year! I lived in the Houston area for over 40 years, only moving to PA to care for my elderly Mom. Yesterday I received the news that my son-in-law has accepted a new job in the Dallas area. My daughter and the kids will remain in Anchorage for the school year so that the eldest granddaughter can graduate. LOLLY I will be asking your feedback regarding school districts in the area. Patrick will be working in Farmers Branch. The family love Alaska, but are looking forward to new adventures and having relatives on both sides of the family nearby. This post is copied from Facebook. Lauren is Andrew's age and they went to elementary school together. She is such a sweet and loving person. Just don't really get it sometimes. I think she is at Duke University now, being sent there from the Cleveland Clinic. You know what to do from here. :)

From Lauren Brandon:

Please continue to pray for me today...I go for a heart catheterization this morning at 11:30. This heart cath is not your typical check-for-blockages heart cath, because I do not have valve problems or blockages. Many people probably don't realize, but all of my heart problems stem from a virus that I contracted over 3 years ago. Until that time, my heart was perfectly healthy.
This heart cath today will assess the pressures in my heart's chambers to help my medical team make the best decision about furthering my treatment.
I know I serve a God that is bigger than any virus, heart cath, or doctor. I thank Him for sending me to a wonderful medical facility, but most importantly, I thank Him for never leaving or forsaking me.
Be encouraged today...don't be sad for me. Let's all start speaking positive into the atmosphere as evidence of our faith that God will work this out! He's in control my friends!

It was only the third pose... I caught on then that it was not, by then I had hurt the muscles between my ribs. Tore them doctor thinks... Six to eight weeks to completely heal. Keep on exercising is her recommendations. I refused her pain pills however, I will do with my herb ointment...
It is all good.

Susan phoned from Vancouver.
They arrived on time.
We laughed.
She wanted to tell me how much she appreciated seeing me and my driving all the way up there.
It is all good.
I love my family.

Settled in for the night. Gave George his new thyroid pill in addition to his other medications. Geesh, the trip to the vet was $350, and he has two more appointments.

Time for sleep. SED, everyone.
