Thursday
What a week. Hope everyone weathered the storm ok. We just got our power back last night.
I don't do this often, but I want to give you a link to a place I had the opportunity to visit this summer--Kingswood Camp for Boys.
For those of you who attended summer camp as a kid, like I did, it will be familiar place. I lived and worked in New Hampshire of and on throughout the eighties, and I can tell you there is no better place to spend some summer time than in the White Mountains. Kingswood Camp is the classic camp, nestled on the wild an beautiful Lake Tarleton, called "Mother Tarleton" by those who have spent time there.
If you know a young man looking to have a life changing experience in the wilds of the White Mountains, this is the place.
New thread.
PS...we are working on the cam procurement, finally...hang in there. As far as effects form the storm: There is no apparent damage to the nest or tree, other than all of the leaves being blown off. Have not seen the birds, but I was not here until this morning. They tend to hunker down in a sheltered area during weather like what we experienced. I have seen two adult bald eagles down in the Middleburg area the past week.

Good Afternoon and thanks to STEVE and JUDYE for letting us know about a nice new thread ! Thanks, too, for the heads up on that beautiful camp for boys !
JO, it thrills my heart to hear about Michael's amazing progress. I hope he can graduate to yummier food soon !
LORI, no snow in my neck of the woods. It all fell south and north of here. Central Ohio is often more mild than those locales on Lake Erie to the north or the Ohio River to the south. Good news from son, Lee, in Highland Park, NJ. Their power has been restored and the only damage they suffered was the loss of a third of a huge maple tree in the back yard. It fell across their fence and over into the neighbors yard, crushing a cherished apple tree. I'm so glad they live inland as the Jersey coast was so hard hit.
MARGY, tis` wonderful the Big House sold within the family and that your nephew can rely on you to look after the place ! I'm sure the family feels you are a blessing and we EM's know you are !!!
SANDI, it's great that your hubby in in the construction business ! He'll have your place fixed up in no time and it sounds like he'll have months of work ahead. That's a silver lining in the otherwise dark clouds hanging over your area right now ! How is your Mom doing ?
My heartfelt prayers for all in need ! I love you all ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
So sorry for the loss of you step dad JERRY
Thanks for the new thread, Steve. I appreciate your link to the article - I was a outdoor camp gal and then a Girl Scout - I know that is why today many many years later I love the out-of-doors. Thanks again.
I hadn't been reading back but Kay, I'm glad you mentioned that Margy has the house being kept within the family.
Michael is doing better each day! Thanks for all your support and prayers/positive thoughts!
Today for us is a Holy Day of Obligation.. I'll be at church tonight for All Soul's Day.
I posted on the previous thread....isn't today Andy's birhtday?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDY...I WISH YOU THE VERY BEST THIS COMING YEAR
JUDYE STEVE said he has not seen Belle or Shep but the tree and the nest seemed OK to him and that eagles tend to hunker down in this weather.
THANKS STEVE YOU ARE THE BEST
I am having a scallops, bok choy , zuchinni, carrot curry soup...yum it is delicious wished you all were here with me... I ♥ US
When I first found the new thread the only thing that was mentioned was the new cam he added the not seeing the eagles after I asked him on facebook so he added it Cool beans Hey HODA how far are you from Harrison Mills IN BC the link I put on with all the eagle at the lake???? That would be so amazing to see in person and I wonder is it all year like that
I am making my second pot of coffee today I love it that I switched to decaf hazelnut now I cam drink it more often
If you click on the Harrsion Mills link it will stop in a few seconds just click on the pause looking button that has happened to lots of peeps on facebook when I posted it there is no play only stop and pause button OH a eagle just flew in front of the camera I love it
SHIRLEY so happy to hear you signed the contract for the repairs.
Sorry HUNTER lost his ipod.
Blessing to the house sale and that it stays in the family and Blessings on the young man who bought it and is headed out to Afghanistan MARGY...May he return home safely and may he know the good he is doing over there.
SANDI glad that DENNY has a handle on things for the repairs and I love you both for how you have handled this whole situation. THE BEST THE VERY VERY BEST.
JUDYE Harrisons Mills is a bit over eight hours away from Nelson. Closer to Vancouver way...Drive through the Crows Nest Pass. An ugly drive in the winter!!! Frequent Sasquatch sightings reports in that area...that is not however why it is an ugly drive...the roads get very icy there and they are narrow and not much of a shoulder on route. They improve as you come close to the Mills as it is also a connection to Vancouver or as we call it Vangroovy!!!
JUDYE The Eagles are at Harrison Mills from November to January. The river has an abundance of salmon which attracts a variety of birds.David Hancock thinks that this spot might have the largest contention of eagles gathering even more so than Alaska now. This year the count is 7000 eagles and counting!!!
Very exciting that there is apparently no damage to the tree or nest. Will be happy when we get a report that the eagle have been spotted!
Judy those are fun cams to watch. Very peaceful.
my deleted link didn't take one more try Eagle released today Wildlife Center of VA video
WOW I googled the milage to Vancouver wow would have been nice if it would be on this side of canada not the other side
Vancouver, BC, Canada
2 days 5 hours
3,275.9 mi - I-80 W
I guess that would be a fly by airplane trip not driving or maybe not HMMM need to mull that over in my head LOL
You can always stop in Nelson and rest, make a stay of it for a day or two, on your way to Vangroovy JUDYE!!! Just Sayin'
Shirley - did Hunter take it with him when he went out to Trick/Treat?
I hope that he finds it soon.
Evening all!
Denny's van wouldn't start yesterday (it was parked in our driveway during the storm and he thought it would be fine there). Had it towed - the garage called to say they think water got to one of the computers in the engine. They said insurance companies often total vehicles in case like this. Van is now with the insurance company for an evaluation. Happy days!
Denny will be calling the water restoration company tomorrow to bring the big fans in and start drying things out. Yay!
Need to eat and then do some school work. Silver lining, Denny picked up 5 jobs today repairing the water damage inside other people's homes. It's all indoor work and should keep him and his guys working through the early part of the winter.
Goodnight everyone! Jo, when is your doctor's visit to discuss next steps??
I had wondered about your vehicles, Sandi. Jack and I were discussing it just this evening.
Going to watch some TV tonight..have recorded some programs.
HODA I got a better I deal when you could go with me to see the eagles I could stop and pick you on the way Hey the one cam with the tree they are now zooming a 360 cool
some of the trees up there are sooooo pretty and yeller in collor really pretty
I meant to say a better Idea I deal oops you get my meaning LOL Just got back from Sonnys and only had the salad bar
so sorry about the truck Sandi but good the insurance will total it
Thanks for the new thread Steve and for the news.
Glad our nest weathered the storm. Can't wait for the cam!! Hopefully our pair will be spotted soon. How is the Potomac River?
Sandi-Glad to hear that Denny has work to last through the winter. That is always good. Sorry about the van boo hiss. Of course the best news is that tomorrow is FRIDAY!
I should have had a salad, but instead I had ice cream!
Thanks for the new thread, Steve, and for the great picture. Yes, I remember my time at summer camp and the summer I worked as a camp counselor. Good memories.
Good to know our nest is still there.
Hoda, Hunter will be very interested in hearing about Sasquatch sightings in your area.
Sounds like you are being kept very busy house sitting, Margy. Hope you are okay with this.
We had ServPro do our drying out, Sandi. They really had all kinds of equipment.
Glad to hear that Denny is getting jobs out of this mess. Hope you get the van taken care of quickly.
Found the iPod this afternoon. Hunter is now properly equipped.
Happy birthday, Andy!
Good Evening Eagle Buds! Hope everyone is doing OK. Know there's still lots of work to esp. for Sandi and Shirley's house restorers! I haven't kept up on everything, but have we heard from some of the OBX crew?
Sandi, your positive comment reminded me to take "Frankenstorm" off of her and return the "Silver Lining"!
Been busy doing some laundry this evening~~~~the drier's buzzer is summoning.

♪HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANDY!!♪ Did Emma bake you a cake?? ☺

Glad SANDI checked in sorry about the van glad for the jobs for DENNY and his TEAM.
Glad HUNTER found his ipod...does he need an ipod for school?
Sasquatch sightings are big in several locations in British Columbia SHIRLEY and even though the weed underground economy is thriving in Nelson and the Kootenay region in general we don't have sightings here!!! I do not know what those other folks are smoking but heavens the stories are part of British Columbia culture...LOL!!! Personally I have never seen one!! You all will be the first to know if I do and I expect you to be good friends and not laugh at me too loud!!!
Getting on to say good night. Time to head to bed, my eyes are watering.
Groan...heading to Denton for soccer Saturday and there is a race at the racetrack. Dern!!!
Night all!
SED!!!
Excuse me Hoda...you are a very dear friend, but if you get on here telling us you have seen Sasquatch.....I am laughing!!!!☺
Love you, Hoda! Nitey Nite!!
LOLLY!!!I am laughing now...SED
PAULA posted from Paradise. She made safe journey.

Goodnight.
PRAYERS♥
Happy Birthday Andy!!!
Wow is all I can say...water came higher than I thought...it washed everything that was in the marsh frompast storms up into my yard.
I have a swath of debris 1 foot high and 5 or mor feet high all away across the yard.
Storm took out a lot of marsh bush and grss and deposited sand. Ripped out a lot of grasses near the water on my point.
My farthest out tree is uprooted and was stopped from falling all the way down by two other trees..one of which I think it broke the roots. I have a tree guy here tomorrow..he is also working next door. I will confer with him in the morning. Lots of cleanup...but all is pretty good. Had two small window leaks.
Will post pics on fb tomorrow.
I went to summer camp 1 year.had a blast.
Sed love and hugs
HELLO...
Stopping by to wish all of you pleasant dreams, peaceful sleep and many blessings♥
Good Morning Eagle Buddies!
Happy Friday, or RED Friday, as Margy calls it. Wearing red socks today! Best I could do getting dressed in the dark! :)
SANDI, I hope things are coming along quickly at your place, and that the same will be true for SHIRLEY since signing the contracts!
Busiest day of the week for me here. Sorry so short this morning.
Prayers for all in need. You're all in my thoughts!
Good Friday morning my eagle friends! Great to read about Michael's continued progress!!
Paula, glad that Paradise fared well through the storm!
Hoda, if you ever spot a Sasquatch, I'm sure Hunter will be on the next plane to Nelson to visit you!!
We have a neighborhood watch program here since owners are only summer residents or use their homes as rental properties. Yesterday, I finally got a chance to check the homes in my territory and send an email to everyone about the condition of their homes. Instead of clicking on my neighborhood watch distribution list, I sent the email to all of my contacts in my address book. So if you got that email from me, I apologize! How embarrassing!! =)
Make it great day all!
Good morning my eagle peeps.
Thanks for sharing the picture and the wonderful information about the camp, the area and the great influence the summer camp had on you.
Don't worry about the email Sandi, it's all gravy.
And its Friday again! Good morning everyone!
ANDY; so sorry! happy birthday. i missed that one!!!! hope it was wonderful!
yesterday was a good day. the heater folks put in the new system and it seems to be doing its job well. now of course, the temps have rose, so instead of being 30 like yesterday, it is currently 49 at my house. oh well, we still have it on, just a bit. and do certainly need heat, so its all good i suppose.
i was so pleased with that little heater i bought to cover us last night that i wrote a positive review on lowes.com
livvy was moved to a different teacher last night; gamma/delta only. she was in with the freestyle skaters, who have all the basics down. but she is the only one in the class, so its like a private teacher for her at the moment. :) she learned a waltz jump last night.
we talked to her former teacher, susan last night, who seems to have take a shine to livvy. she said there is a competition coming in feb and she would love to see livvy think about it. us too, but its up to her. we told her, if olivia gets to wanting to be in performances or compete, we will likely try to get a private instructor for her.....but that 's a bit more than the regular classes....we shall see. like i told tom, one step at a time.
work today; classes this weekend. last weekend i'm working til feb. i'veonly scheduled 3 weekends to teach next year, at least for my reiki master....things of course, have a way of changing up!
have a super day my friends!!! light, love, healing and smiles to all!
Smiles back to you Janet. I hope you make a great day.
Good morning everyone. Dex and I are out of here all morning. Sunny and nice. Prayers for all for the needs of your day.
Good morning!
Looks like Paula will be filling a lot of garbage bags. Any treasure wash up? Glad you are getting the trees taken care of promptly!
On the agenda for today...a little shopping and then yard work. Have already had firewood delivered today, so Jack has the job of transporting it to the back. Our landscaping prevents trucks from going to the back.
Sandi....no problem with the email. Know you will be glad to have the weekend. I can just imagine what it was like at school for you....everyone swapping storm stories.
Have a great Friday!!!

Hi, Everyone,
I don't know what happened to it, but my post from yesterday got lost somehow! Will try to reconstruct it from the notes I have:
Sandi, so sorry about the flooding, the water damage, and the soggy pictures! (Sounds like you've saved those--YAY!!) Absolutely heartsick about the dog!
Words just fail at times like this!
So very grateful the girl is safe, though. Thank God for that! Prayers for your Mom!
Janet, thank God for Tom's non-cancer diagnosis!
Jo, so glad you're feeling better, and thrilled about the good news about Michael! Prayers continue!
Chrissy, sooo glad to see you here!
Hope all is well with you and your family! (((HUGS))) and love!
Golly, good to see Geula too! God bless you!
Wanda, blessings on you and Gene for going ahead with the Soup Kitchen! God bless Pastor Eddie, too!
Thank you for all the wonderful Birthday wishes! I so appreciate all of you!!! Had a wonderful day yesterday. Ken, Marsh (Sis-in-law), and I all went to Malibu and saw the J. Paul Getty Villa. It is a copy of the villa owned by Julius Caesar's father-in-law, which was located in Pompeii at the base of Mt. Vesuvius. It was buried by the eruption of that volcano. The villa contains the collection of antiquities. It is amazing to see! We then went to Duke's restaurant on the beach in Malibu for lunch. Beautiful view, and fantastic food! While we were gone, Emma spent the day at Petsmart for doggy daycare. She loved it! She was really tired last night, though. Guess they kept her busy!
Today is the kids' (Jen and Marq's) Anniversary--their 21st! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Jen and Marq!!
Well, Ken has today off, so we are going to a movie this afternoon, to see Cloud Atlas. Will report back on how we liked it. I have a couple of bills to pay online, so will say so long for now. Prayers continue from this roost for everyone! Take care, and have a good afternoon/evening.

Quiet day at the blog today. Glad all are well.
SANDI I did not get the email but had I gotten it I would have said like the others no problem. It is all good.
I have admiration and respect for neighbourhood watch...
All is good here and it is quiet.
I love wood delivery LOLLY and understand about the landscaping. I have images of JACK walking back and forth with a wheel barrow!
It was so good to feel the warmth of the sun today even though we had a mass of dark clouds hanging over the valley for a while. Foot dr appointment went well except he is always at least 20 min late.
♥ Shirley - where was the IPod found?
♥ Hoda - remember that you will smell
Sasquatch before you see him ♥
I will try to return before everyone signs off.............. ♥
Good evening. Sitting here enjoying my pizza so glad that it is Friday. How could such a short week be so long?

Temperatures in NY will drop to the 30's this weekend, according to Twitter...How will the old in Apt Buildings deal with the cold without electricity. I also read the Mayor cancelled the NY Marathon...Good thinking I think, their resources are over stretched...I presume that NJ will also have cold weather?
BLESSINGS TO THEM ALL.
It is almost time to wish you all a good night back east...9:00 PM your time...
