Thanks Steve! Will call the troops over!

Just logged on from home and see there is a new thread - thanks so much Steve! Looks like Lolly is calling the others over. YAY - it's spring break time! I am retired ... for 10 days!!! =)

Lori O. said...

Hello Lolly! Thanks for the call over.

STEVE, thank you for the fresh, new thread. :)

Lori O. said...

Lucky you, SANDI!

Red said...

Thanks for the new thread Steve.

Wanda, I couldn't walk on a treadmill backwards with normal hips. lol

Most of the exercises were just simple movements of the hip joint.
ie; leg lifts, sideways motions etc. With the new hip replacement procedure there is no precautions and the doc told me I could forget the exercises if I wanted. Would just take a little longer to recover. With the new procedure the recovery time is much quicker too. For instance, my brother had his replaced about 8 months ago and I've already recovered more than he has.

Lolly said...

Well I tried to call them over. Lol. On my phone, never did see my post!

Hoda said...

Your post came through LOLLY it is how I knew to switch to the new thread. THANKS STEVE AND THANKS LOLLY.

RED amazing how a body heals really. So individual all of it so very individual.

I think today I am going to cook the last of my California organic Artichokes...they are so very delicious and I am also sure good for my liver...Food as medicine is one of my favourite ways of looking at food...

Lolly said...

Looks like I was successful. Really did not plan to post but saw the new thread. Not very good at typing on my phone.

Sandi said...

Jo, pickled beets and eggs - I haven't had those since my Dad was alive and he's been gone over 20 years! He loved them, so my mom made them a lot! I love both but I never make them b/c Denny and the boys are not fans.

Red, good to see you on the blog!

Wonderful news about Tori going home today!

Hoda, sorry you're not starting to feel better yet, but it sounds like you're doing all the right things!

Lynn and Lolly, congrats on being 20/20 again!

Would love to get an update about ...
Thelma,
Kay,
Kate's mom,
Steve's sister, Wendy.

Lolly said...

Heavy traffic. Will not make it to walk the boys home.

Dinner tonight on Monte's company for his 20 year anniversary.

Judie said...

Thank you, Steve for the fresh thread and Lolly for the call over.

Sandi, I feel your joy. Only three weeks (6 classes) and it's summer time, summer time, sum sum summer time! Also agree, would sure like some positive updates.

Hmmm, see the babes are having some face-to-face time and practicing how fight over a tiny twig.

Hi Red, glad you came by to visit. Sure hope the second knee will come soon. Wanda may be really jealous when she finds out.

Lolly, how'd the fame turn out?

Hi Lori. How's the "do" this afternoon?

Hoda, sorry you're still feeling poorly. Hope the doctor can fit you in soonest.

Bye

Hoda said...

I too SANDI would like to know more about Thelma, Wendy, Kate's Mom, Kay and LIESL...I miss hearing updates on LIESL...she is at the trainer and LYNN said she feared she will be spoilt...any other news LYNN?

Sandi said...

DanaMo, when do the Hilmoes hit the road? Enjoy your dinner tonight!

Red said...

Judie, HIP not knee. lol

DanaMo said...

Not until after Mass on Sunday.

paula eagleholic said...

Afternoon all!

Red, if it isn't one hip, it's the other ☺ Probably made you realize how bad the other one was also. Glad the new hip is working well, and hope they can fit you in soon.

Heading home to mow, catch ya later.

Hoda said...

PAULA are you going to PARADISE for the Easter weekend?
Do you leave tomorrow and come back Monday?

Judie said...

Oh my, Red. So sorry about my error. My brain is inferior so I can't tell the difference between a hip and a knee. Well, just happy the recovery is going so well and hope the second replacement (for whatever) goes equally well.

Babes are just hanging out. Saw a little beaking earlier.

Darth had a root canal done this morning so dinner will be soft as in scrambled eggs. AM in the PM. Easy which is good because I'm tired.

For those who have commented about the panthers, I am grateful for your support. It was very difficult. Just hard to accept that we could not find a solution. Never failed with an animal before.

Okay, off to the scullery.

Sandi said...

Feeding time at the nest! Bandit is whining - sounds like feeding time at the Roberts house as well. Sure hope Bandit likes this new dry dog food - something tells me that it's going to be quite a disappointment, considering Bandit is used to home made ground turkey, rice, and veggies! Fingers crossed! BBL.

Hoda said...

Belle poofs and returns only to poof again.
Chicklettes untended were sitting up for a while and now both zonked. They were very well fed before Belle poofed.

hedgie said...

So good to see you, Red!! Glad the new hip is such a success, but sorry the other one is so painful. Hope they decide to do it sooner rather than later!
I thought maybe you were out and about gallivanting all over town.

Hoda, I do hope you get to feeling better. If you have a fever it's highly doubtful that you have a virus. I pray that you don't end up with pneumonia.

Enjoy your dinner, DanaMo!

Freeze warning here tonight...argh! Wind has already died down a lot. :(

Love watching these two chicks interacting with each other. So cute!

hedgie said...

Judie, we all know you did the very best you could, and the right thing in the end. (((HUGS)))
Sorry about poor Darth--ouchie! Hope he doesn't suffer too badly through the night as the novocaine wears off.

Hoda said...

Camera shakes. Someone lands in the attic. Chicklettes still zonked out.

Hoda said...

Oh God I hope not LYNN!!!

Hoda said...

Again camera shakes. Chicklettes still zonked.

sorry about flat tire....

Moon is UP, might as well pretty much call it FULL

xo

Hoda said...

Thanks for checking in SHARON. Sorry about the flat tire.

magpie said...

Good to hear from RED

Of course we missed you, RED !
and Love to Diane as well as to Y♥u

Sandi said...

Sharon, sorry about the flat, but seeing Andrew will make it all worth it!

Yay - Bandit snarfed that new food down! Of course, it is currently mixed with his home made food, but he didn't eat around the dry kibble, just woofed it all down in a hurry! Guess I can go back to the vet and buy the rest of the bag now that I know I won't be wasting my money! Now, if it just does what it's supposed to do! The vet said to give it a month to see. Have I told you I am NOT a patient person!?

Hoda said...

Yes SANDI I heard you are not a patient person, but am glad that Bandit woofed down the food...remember now that you are retired for ten days being patient is a very good practice, things slow down and do not happen in a hurry when you are retired!!! LOL

Hoda said...

Siren call and in comes Shep with a good sized fish. Ma Belle gets up continues the siren takes the fish and goes to the chicklettes. Shep poofs.

Sandi said...

Shep lands with a decent size fish, which Belle promptly takes from him. She is at 12 eating and feeding and Shep poofs!

Hoda said...

Belle feeding the chicklettes one is so stuffed it can not put its head up.Her brother however has no trouble eating...

Sandi said...

Hoda, are you saying that when I am "really" retired, I will become a patient person? Will it happen gradually or all at once?? I hope it happens all at once - I would hate to have to WAIT to become patient!! BTW, you're a good one to talk about patience, Miss "I've already booked my hotel room at the airport and packed my suitcase for my July trip!" =)

paula eagleholic said...

Front yard is done...heading out for a bite to eat...bbl

Hoda said...

ENJOY PAULA!!!

SANDI As for my being patient...the only thing I have not done yet is pack my suit case...everything else is done however LOL!!!83 more days before I cross the border and am in the Good Old USA!!! and Yes I can not wait LOL
The last time I drove across the border crossing I stopped at a stop sign and made sure traffic is clear and drove on. There was a red light too but I did not think it applied to me...A border guard came out yelling and waving her hands and I stopped right away. Apparently the red light was them taking picture of my plates and processing them...It does not pay to be too looking forward to enter the USA. I have to wait for the red light to change to green apparently!!! Go Figure!!! LOL!!!I will take my time this time I promise...83 days seems long though...

Hoda said...

The loose white feather is still on Belle's left wing, on her back

Judie said...

Looks like Belle is pulling flugg close in. Guess because she heard the weather report. Will need to keep the babes warm tonight.

AM in the PM over and I am headed to watch 48 Hours (which is Jo's fault as she told me about it way back when).

If I fall asleep, I left a note for the sandperson to begin rounds no later than 11:00pm.

Kathryn just posted the latest neighborhood adventure on FB:

so had to go check on Hunter when the kids he was playing freeze tag with came in and told him he needed and ice pack because he hit his head. They did a quick assessment and made sure to let me know he was not bleeding.... but maybe just had a concussion. This future neurosurgeon was holding up fingers and asking Hunter how many she was holding up.

The girl looking after Hunter is probably nine years old. He seems to be fine, a small bump on his head.

hedgie said...

Have had my bath and waiting for Person of Interest to come on. Have almost finished my book.

Going to say goodnight now.

Wonder if Tori will sleep well in her own bed with her dog there and everything familiar, or if she'll be too excited? Can't wait to hear the homecoming details!!!

Love to all, and prayers going up for each one in need and all in general.

I think he is okay, Margy. But we will keep an eye on him for sure.

I see our eagle parent is tucked. I think it's Belle. I think babies are in front of her, maybe partially under her. She moved a bit.

magpie said...

I know you will, Shirley....

James, the other day, decided to look through the binoculars while we were driving...as he watched the school buses coming in the opposite direction on the road, he was reeling with "fear" which just made him laugh more and more as the buses approached then disappeared. It was hilarious !

stronghunter said...

Oh, good grief, Margy.

Hmm, I do remember when I was living in an apartment with two other schoolteachers. I was quietly soaking in the bathtub when I heard race car engines that sounded almost as loud as the real thing.

Believe it or not, it was one of my roommates. You just never knew what Westbrook might do next. She always kept us guessing. I cannot imagine what the neighbors thought that night, though it was not as late as 1:00 am.

I had no idea someone would make a recording of race car engines for public distribution.

stronghunter said...

Good Evening Eagle Buds! Had to pop in before I konk in a chair!
Kind of busy aqt Park today and lots of calls from those who aqre remembering they can rent canoes & kayaks now! I stayed late to help some guys from PA who wanted a permit to launch a boat. One has a sister up the road, so knew about the Park.
Group from other Rec. Ctrs. came in buses one hour late for boat ride and fishing lessons! Then of course there was utility interference. Co. came to hook cable (fibers- FiOS) from pipes to board in V.C. closet and other crews came to install new telephone poles!
Got some pics, but haven't plugged camera in yet. Never know what you'll see!

RED - Sorry to hear that other hip is giving you problems!! You're doing so well with the new one!

Lovin' the discussions between Sandi and Hoda about waiting for patience!! Ha Ha!

I took a half day off this morning and rode up to Ithaca, NY to pick up a couple of plum trees.

We took a little drive to see Cayuga Lake (one of the finger lakes), which was beautiful and we went to see Ithaca Falls, which was just amazing!! 150' vertical water falls! Such power in that water. Google it, and see how beautiful it is! I will post pictures when Dennis takes them off his camera!!

It was refreshing. If I lived close to a place like that, I would love going there frequently!!

Ithaca Falls very impressive LINDA I too googled them...I am glad you saw them in real life.

Lolly said...

Hi! We be home!!
Had fun this evening. Joseph did great and they won their game. We went out to eat ice cream afterwards.

Linda.....I have been to the Finger Lakes and seen the Ithaca Falls. My youngest nephew and his wife went to the chiropractic College at Seneca Falls, NY. We flew up for their graduation. Did some wine tasting with them, but then stayed and traveled around the area before flying home. Loved the area and the trip!

Have a great neice now playing soccer now at a college in New York. Would like to get up there to see her play.

Lolly said...

Howdy Hoda! You asked about Easter. Laurel and family and Michael and family will be here Easter afternoon and evening. Wild 'n crazy day...Food Bank Truck was 2 hours late getting here and by the time we got back to the church, ladies were setting up the tables for Maundy Thursday Love Feast and were in the kitchen cooking the roast beef, etc.
So we opted to just put the perishables in the freezer and left everything else in our van, to be unloaded Monday morning. Yikes, another work day...I thought we were retired?;)

Granddaughter Jillian (my only granddaughter) and Aaron announced their engagement today. They stopped by here to show me the ring...both are very happy that they have found each other. Me too:)

Rachael, my step granddaughter (love her too) is dialated and as her doctor put it, "she is a ticking time bomb"!

Good morning!

Lolly, so glad to read you uplifting posts. I was worried when I heard of the tornadoes.

Judie, you did all you could with the panthers. Give Darth an ice pack. That sometimes helps with the pain.

Lynn, so good to see your cheerful posts tonight. Glad you are feeling better.

Hoda, hope you feel better soon.

Lnda, that trip sounded wonderful.

Red, hope you get relief with your hips. By BIL, Charlie is having a terrible time with his. It'll be 2 years the 26th that his journey started, but he developed infections several tmes and had to have the replacement done twice, I think. Don't remember if it was more.
Sounds like you're doing great! ☺

Jo, pickled eggs! I must make some of them. Used to can the beets but now buy them. Yum yum yum.

Sharon, ((hugs)) to you and Thelma.
Have not been on much but read a while back that Thelma wasn't doing so well. Give her my love.

Margy, sweet Margy. Must say hello to you too.

I hope I havent missed anyone. Want to wish all a Happy Easter in case I'm not back before the Easter bunnies lay their eggs.

God bless you all. Prayers for those in need and want.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,

Gosh, I fell asleep in front of the TV with Emma again!

Went to the desert house and worked on cleaning the toilets, and the one in the master suite bathroom looks good now. The one in the bathroom off the main hall is another story. I think I need to get some "Kaboom" toilet bowl cleaner to put in it. Certainly needs something akin to dynamite!

I let Security know I was coming up there so they could check the house before I got there. Just seemed like a really good idea. Everything was fine, though. I'm going to have to get some paint chips to try to match the paint on the walls up there--it's not going to be easy. The color is a sort of avocado green, and it has a hint of gold in it. Probably best to just grab a chip of every avocado green I can lay my hands on, and hope something's close. Suppose if the whole wall is painted it will blend in. The trim, baseboards, kitchen and bath cabinets, and doors are all white. Looks really good, but hope it's neutral enough that prospective buyers will like it. The carpet is a beige frisee. That's a cut pile carpet made from twisted fibers--kind of a short pile that looks like it has a perm.

Once it's cleaned up properly, will have to take pictures and share them on my blog.

I'm concerned about all the bathroom sinks--they had apparently been left with the drain stoppers closed, and water sitting in them. The water up there is so hard that rocks practically come out of the faucets, so now there is a thick coating of hard water deposits halfway up each sink bowl! Sprayed on Lime Away, but it didn't work.

Well, need to get to sleep. Pretty tired tonight! Prayers have been said for everyone, especially Lynn, Hoda, Tori, Kay, and Darth.
Oh--Thelma and Sharon, too!
The porch light is on. Both security systems are enabled. Sleep tight! God bless, and goodnight. Love all of you! :o]

They are each feeding one. AWwwwww!

Sandi said...

Awww, Belle is feeding Big and Shep is feeding Lil!

DanaMo said...

LOL! That branch in is Lil's way...

Sandi said...

Love it when the kids "shake their tail feathers" or should I say where their tail feathers will be! Right now, they just shake their booty! =)

magpie said...

I'd love to be watching the nest and the familyh with binoculars right now !

but this is a pretty darn nice view !!

DanaMo said...

Me too Sandi!!

magpie said...

ouch
got a whack from the stick !

DanaMo said...

Belle almost knocked on out with the stick!

DanaMo said...

They sure are busy this morning.

Sandi said...

Belle returns with another stick and more greenery. There seems to be a shift in focus at the nest - lots of sticks being brought in, lots of boomeranging parents!

Margy, agreed - beautiful view with both parents feeding both chicks! What a difference a year makes!

Sandi said...

These 2 chicks are eatin' (and poopin') machines! Food in - food out for sure!!

OK, time to get ready for my day. On the agenda for me is driving to West Ocean City to a plumbing supply place to pick out a new bathtub and tub surround and a new toilet. Turns out that we can't put one of those liner things over a molded fiberglass tub and walls. So we have to tear the old out and put in new. Denny's plumbing sub is sending us to a place he can buy from that doesn't sell to the public - hoping he can get us a better price than we could get from a retail place. Then, on to Home Depot to buy a new exhaust fan/light, beadboard for the walls, and new accessories (towel bars, etc.) Also need to call the flooring place about the new flooring that still hasn't arrived. Have a good day all!

stronghunter said...

Things to do this day. I will return later.

My crepe myrtle started leafing out some time ago. It's the first time I have trimmed the branches and by far the first time it has leafed out so early.

The neighbor's isn't leafing out yet. Hoping it does not get nipped.

Good morning to everyone.

Thinking of Lynn today and sending positive thoughts.

Belle was tending the babes when I checked. Must be full as they looked asleep.

Wanda, congratulations to Jillian and Aaron and now to await an easy, quick Easter bunny or bunnyette arrival. Thinking about these two happy events will help all that soup kitchen work go easily.

Hi Margy. Happy Red Friday. Will you see James the Wise this weekend?

Andy, glad to see you arrived home safely. Yes, see if you can find some CLR. So much work. So sorry.

Linda, so nice you had a lovely visit to Ithaca Falls. Never been there but am sure it was beauteous.

Shirley, how's Hunter? Was he the one injured?

Okay, am taking a break today and having lunch with a former student. Nice lady about my age. We see each other about once a year. Meeting at a local bar/grill specializing in chicken wings.

Be back this afternoon.

Judie said...

Shirley, our crepe myrtle is full of baby leaves. Needs serious pruning but will have to wait until another time.

Bye

Costume Lady said...

Sounds like fun Judie, meeting up with an old friend over lunch:)
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...

paula eagleholic said...

Hey Andy, you need to get out the vodka for the sinks!

Costume Lady said...

I have failed to tell those of you who are coming to our PRETEND OPEN HOUSE, that the Eagle Express will be parked at the bottom of the hill from the NEST. You may come and go as you please. Bathroom on board, bedroom if you wish to lay down for a PANDA NAP (20 mins. limit:) We will even pick ticks off of you!

We will have a light lunch in the EE. Chicken salad sandwiches, macaroni and seafood salad, relish tray and drinks.
Hope to see you there!

As I am typing this, it seems like I have already posted this. If I did, just skip on to the next post:)

DanaMo said...

SO EXCITED!!! Thanks for the info. Wanda. If it was posted before, I missed it! ☺

Costume Lady said...

ANDREA...suggestion: DO NOT USE KABOOM! Unless they have changed their formula, I nearly asphyxiated myself with that a while back. It is very toxic. Burned my eyes and throat!
Good luck with your cleaning up that awful mess!

Sandi said...

Wow - just walked past the computer and Big was up on his/her feetsies! They are flapping those wings and growing by the minute!

Sandi said...

Big was trying to take a step up on his/her feet - took a face plant instead! =)

Wanda, thanks for the info about 4/21! Can't wait!

stronghunter said...

Hi,

Two flopped babies in the nest and an adult watching over them. It is breezy there today.

Mema Jo said...

It is Good Friday and wishing all of you the Blessing of this Easter season.

The internet (Modem) died this am.
Hubby spent an hour on the phone with Verizon and they fixed it - I felt so
lost.

I went to be too early last evening -
Congratulations to Jillian & Aaron!
By this morning hour, Wanda you may be telling us soon that Jayden has a sister!

stronghunter said...

Have never tried Kaboom. Will remember what you said, Wanda.

Be careful not to mix ammonia with a chlorine bleach. That creates a toxic gas that can do you in.

stronghunter said...

My Internet went down for awhile this morning, too, Jo, and so did the cable. Back on now. I have Comcast.

Mema Jo said...

Sandi! You are going to be gong through what I am going through now. New bathroom fixings! New floors, vanities, commodes and a new shower stall in the half bath. My two sons are doing this work (They know what they are doing)but it is noisy as the devil. When the glue or varnish & paint smells come - that is when I move out!

When I first sign on - I read from the bottom up! Jewels you faked me out writing under you Mom's cover! I was
wondering how in the devil did Lynn take her Mom a chocolate donut....DUH

Morning all,
Stopping in now to wish everyone a HAPPY EASTER.

Family will be here tomorrow to celebrate. Easter egg hunt for the 8,6, and 4 yr olds. Brunch instead of traditional Easter meal, as all will be doing Easter again on Sunday elsewhere. Rolls to bake, french toast casserole to assemble, scrambled egg bake to prepare. Would get done alot quicker if I didn't keep stopping to snitch candy out of the prepared baskets.

May all the sufferings end and the blessings multiple for each and every one of you!

Lolly said...

Good morning! Slept late...it was so cozy in bed. Dropped to 56 last night and we had the house wide open. LOL Good sleeping! Already up to 65 and hear the birds singing. I love having the house open.

Wanda, exciting that there is a wedding in the future and that new grandbaby almost here. Fun times!!

Perhaps getting on the Kindle to blog is like getting on the iphone and you have to check in each time.

Mema Jo said...

Carol Anne - I hope all those things you are preparing are in this Recipe Booklet because they sound Yummy.

Mema Jo said...

Taking a quick break......

Lolly said...

Uh, Oh...C/A! Stay out of the candy!! That is a no no, unless you are Lynn. LOL She gets peanut butter doughnuts. OMG! I can not imagine how good they are! I did have peanutbutter cup ice cream at Braums last night, but only 1 scoop!!!!!

CarolAnne said...

Opps Jo - they are not.

Must be in volume 2 - 2013

LOL

CarolAnne said...

Lolly, can't help myself. They are Reeses Peanut Butter pastel eggs (p.b. in a crunchy shell)

Lolly said...

Time for me to go eat some breakfast. Jack and I need to walk before he heads to Fort Worth for lunch with pals. Have I ever told you about the "Alternate Friday Aficionado Enchilada Society"? LOL Will have to do that sometime.☺ Oh, the actually meet on Thursdays. I think he is actually meeting Russ for lunch today, not the society.

Lolly said...

OMG...don't you know to buy stuff that you can resist.

CarolAnne said...

But, but, Lolly, it's for the grandkids, really!!

Love ya all, back to the kitchen (with a slight detour pass the baskets -- I hear them calling me)

Good day all!

DanaMo said...

I'm making brownies with ice cream today for Adam because I talked him into skipping dessert last night. Now I will have to resist. Maybe I will make a sign for myself like the one on the computer screen at the doctors office in red letters:
Patient is overweight
I am such a terrible eater! I'm already dying trying to stay away from junk and I've only been up 6 hours...wow I've been up 6 hours. That's the problem! LOL

Mema Jo said...

I just found the bag of Reese' Peanut Butter Eggs - Good heavens - they shrunk but they sure are good. One of my sons found them and the bag was open. What are you suppose to do with an open bag????????

DanaMo said...

YOu all are NOT helping me talking about all this delicious chocolate. Reese are my favorites!

Margy you better hurry up and eat those so they don't tempt you anymore~! That's what I do!

DanaMo said...

Oh that was Jo, sorry Jo!

DanaMo said...

Where did everyone go??

Lolly said...

I have been walking! We should all be required to weigh in every day! LOL I think this talk is NOT helping! I bought the boys Hersey's Cookies and Cream bunnies, two each. However, I doubt that Zacharooski will be allowed to eat his. No bags around here that I can snitch from.

Jack has left for lunch and I am going to get busy "straightening" the house. Much rather do that while he is gone. When he returns out we go to work in the yard.

Later Gators!

Mutt and Jeff are alone, looking out at 10 o'clock-ish, one behind the other.

Mema Jo said...

Every once in a while, depending on the light, I can see a little black spot on the one eaglet's head.... Any of you?

stronghunter said...

Time to do some tidying around here. Hunter had a friend over earlier and I couldn't vacuum around them too easily. They have gone outdoors now.

DanaMo said...

YAY my camper is in the driveway. I posted a picture of my camper and my Easter craft. I think you guys will love it!

DanaMo said...

The Easter craft that is...

CarolAnne said...

DanaMo -
Love them both!

Camper looks very accomodating.

and your Easter craft is amazing!

Hoda said...

Happy Easter Everyone.

Good morning/ good afternoon.

I noticed that too JO about the birth mark on the chicklet!!!LOL

Good advice CAROLANNE about the CLR for cleaning ANDY'S sinks.

I will stay out of the discussion on chocolates and I am sure you are all buying them for the grand kids!!! This is very clear!!!LOL!!!

Too early for Vodka PAULA!!! Oh I see it too is for the sink...LOL

The EAGLE EXPRESS sounds welcoming and I am sure there will be laughter and chatting in it...

Beautiful morning here. BLue skies.

I feel a bit better but not yet a hundred percent. I will take it over what I was feeling though...so it is all good.

DanaMo said...

The camper is going to seem so empty. When we bought it we were 6 people traveling. Once we drop Aric in Dayton it will only be the 4 of us going on to KY and back to Hagerstown. It's going to seem so empty. It will be interesting to see how Adam and Annemarie are without their older siblings. The 4 of them are pretty tight.
