It was Shep at the endo f the ledge earlier JUDYE. I could see a talon and tail feathers at the top of the frame and he was on the ledge...

The curve is just down from the entrance of NCTC it is the property that the tree is on with the houses and barn And the white feather floated away out of the nest

The tree is on FEDERAL private property is on the NCTC grounds...
but is very visible from the backyard of the farm house on the road near the curve.....
this really seems like an absolutely perfedt nest-viewing experience for those at the nest....

Thanks MARGY...I was still hoping for the feather that flew off the nest if someone could go and get it for me!!!LOL!!! I know LYNN said that it is against the law in the USA to have eagle feathers...just my wishful thinking. I have a few Canadian eagle feathers...

Hoda, I am headed to the evening festivities. Had Kennedy Center last night to have to go today. Will be there for dinner. Missing the nest visit, sadly for me.
Will be departing soon and on the road to wild and wonderful West Virginia. Looking forward to seeing many tonight and will be thinking of those not there.

sOmewhat foggy this morning around So Cal, but it's nothing like what they have on the Channel Islands where I am.
It looks like the missing female at the TH nest did return during the afternoon yesterday; so the tragedy was limited to the loss of the chick.
Phoebe is progressing well on her latest nest, and I would guess she will lay another pair of eggs soon.

I am uploading a 43 sec video when the crowd cheered and could be heard on cam good when Belle was soaring I edited it down that is the loudest of all I took Didn't down load card yet just transferred the one short after I edited it The crowd cheering

We went out to breakfast, then when we got home I watered patio and indoor plants, and filled all the bird feeders. Saw a female Hooded Oriole yesterday!!! They like the hummer feeder, so they and the hummers share it.
Working on my doctor's reports again today. Heard from their office yesterday, and more work is on its way! Wow, that's good, but never a dull moment!
Gotta get back to work, but will check in as often as I can. I am with all of you in spirit!
