Lynn Hedgie, my cake is a lightnig cake with almonds & sugar on top. Recipe straight from Joy of Cooking. 8" pan yellow cake. one cup flour, sugar, one stick butter, 3 eggs, baking powder, salt, lemon zest and lemon juice. Took some up to Mom for her dessert from lunch.
Stopped at grocery for tortilla chips and there was not one bag of plain chips in the store. I ended up with blue chips from the health food isle. I am not too picky about most foods, but I can't abide flavored chips. The check out girl said it was wild this morning--everyone buying only snack foods.

Loretta, I still get the bags of stew veggies at Food Lion. Can't remember now if the pots were in there or not!! I usually keep a can of the white pots on the shelf.
Sandi, what a horrible dilemma you are in with that IEP. This kid needs more help than you can give him.

Venison meatloaf ready to pop in the oven (and YES, I will actually put it IN the oven) and cake baking now!
LYNNE2, how do you season your Venison meatloaf ? At the Pantry where I volunteer we receive "tons" ground venison for distribution. Many turn it down unless it's all there is on a given day---chiefly because they don't know how to spice it up. I feel we should hand out recipes and direct them to the spice rack so more can take advantage of the generosity of local hunters.

It has taken me all this time to complete JUST the strengths and weaknesses page of this kid's IEP! What an effort!! LYNNE1, actually I've already read about this kid in the local paper! He was recently charged, along with 3 other boys from my school with burglary, theft, wearing a disguise in the commission of a felony, and vandalizing businesses with swastikas and racial slurs! That's the thing about him that I just can't get past! I can forgive all kinds of poor behavior and academics, but I abhor anyone who hates another person simply by virtue of his/her religion, skin color, or sexual preference! What's more, I have a hard time having any respect for the parents of a kid like this b/c prejudice is LEARNED behavior! And no, he comes to school grubby and his handwriting is practically illegible! - OMG, I need some tylenol and something with sugar in it, and then I'm on to the next page!!
It's such a beautiful day they should be working on the nest.

Paula, Christie calls the dip Mexicali Dip. Hers also calls for sausage, and she garnishes it with sliced jalapenos. Dogfood Dip grossed her out!!
Back fropm yoga. I think I will not go to Yoga on Sunday's now. I tried the new class and it was not one I learnt from or appreciated...so I will have to find another activity for Sunday...I will give myself a month to see what will rep;ace it.

Kay, when I do the meatloaf, I actually use half venison, half reg. gr. beef. Then I just do like I always have, for one and a half to to lbs of meat I use 3/4 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup ketchup, salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste, some chopped onion, about a tablespoon of worcestershire sauce. That's it!
I will have a cup of tea with you Hoda, long distance of course. Mine will be Chinese Oolong today.

Yea, they don't eat at the nest in off season...I think part of bringing the fish to the female before eggs is courtship and showing he is a good provider.
I'm not watching the pregame...way too long. I'm watching LMN...heading out to friends house soon.
