DANAMO, LOL about the report cards being "BS" ! In April when my eldest, Eileen and her daughter, Dana Kay, visited, they got into my photo album/scrapbooks. Came across the period when Dana and her brother, Max, were in pre-school and K. We all got a big laugh out of the report card copies. Poor teachers, they had to struggle to come up with original phrases and comments. At the time we were all thrilled with the glowing reports of adjustments and accomplishments. Looking at them now we see the same observations could have been made about any one of the tikes. Just changing the name was all that was needed ! ☺ Max and Dana are now 22 and 20.

Yes it's always funny. When I write "has leadership skills" read as "bosses other children around" LOL! I shouldn't say that online, they say that teachers are getting in trouble for what they post privately. Crazy. I know that when I read my children's comments I always saw them as glowing too, now as a teacher I know the "code" lol!
My only comment on all the report cards today is "Congratulations on completing kindergarten"

Too much activity for this old woman. Fell asleep last night almost before I could finish dinner cleanup.
Am headed out this morning to attend the first of several activities today. A breakfast and picture-taking ceremony for Darth and then a buffet dinner tonight. Reason? Well, each Fairfax County District supervisor nominates an annual Lord and Lady Fairfax based on community service and volunteer contributions. This is Darth's year. He is a Lord Fairfax for the day. So, I'll be tagging along to look proud of his contributions to our District and Fairfax County.
Oh, the Darth thing. Margy is correct. Our last name is difficult to pronounce based on spelling so I tell students to pretend I am married to Darth Vader and the Darth part has stuck to him.
Yes, Darth (Frank) is finally Lord of something after 28 years of marriage.
Will be home midday and will try to catch up. Otherwise, I hope everyone will have a wonderful morning.

My B/P is soaring. After my last post everything froze. Rebooted, deleted cookies and browsing history, hoping to get rid of some log jam in my own computer. It didn't work, must be a network problem. Going to go away and give it a rest. Maybe run a Norton full system scan.

The vulture in my yard is injured, and that's why it has been hanging around. One of it's wings appears to be injured. I think it hangs out by the creek during the day now. It usually comes over here looking for food in the morning or evening, but my neighbor has been mowing and tilling non stop and it runs away whenever those types of machines are running. I hope it has not been hurt, maybe he'll show up today.
FuzzleMa, when we lived in Pa. and before we got a TV, we listened to Pittsburgh's KDKA, and probably heard your mother and aunt sing. We lived there in the 40s and part of the 50s. Loved to listen to te Pittsburgh Pirtates ballgames!

Had to chuckle when JudyE mentioned the sheriff and the shooting in Florida. I believe it was there, that someone shot a police officer and when the perp. was caught, a whole group of officers opened fire on him and shot him dead. Later, when the sheriff was asked why they shot the man 68 times, he said, "We ran out of bullets!" :)
No Wanda never did find my camera.
I still believe it was at Waffle House Edwin Miller Blvd. Gone it is...I just wished I had the pictures off of it.

28, 2010 when we had squirrels in our eagle nest. I do believe Liberty and Belle ate those. Because we seen them eating squirrels. I have a folder with the squirrel pic and date.

Yeah, it comes to the same big rock in my yard for food,and sits there until we come out with food. It lets me get about 2 1/2 feet from it if I walk very slow, and then it hops down and gets right back up when I walk away. I have fed it pork, chicken,and ham. Sometimes cooked, usually raw. It doesn't appear to be afraid of me, but still cautious to let me get too close, which is good.
We have noticed that it disappears whenever we run any kind of machinery.
My grands finished school for the year yesterday. Mixed emotions on all fronts about that!
And BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Darth on his honorific!!!! Did I ever mention that I love Fairfax Co.???? ALWAYS something happening there!!

Mommy and Liesl were bad this morning.....she was being a squirm worm and I was only holding her with one arm.....she jumped out of my arm and landed with a thud....hit her head....she was dazed for just a second, but she looked at me as if it was all my fault! She appears to be fine....but five feet is a long way to drop!
Well Hedgie-Lynn there was no one but Liesl and you. So it had to be "YOUR FAULT" lol

Well, shoot......Hagerstown paper says that the Miracle on Hudson plane will stay on 70 to 68.....that is hardly the fastest route to Charlotte.....don't understand their logic at all. 81 would seem to be most direct route. Truck is 140 feet long....20-40 other vehicles in convoy. Wow....sure wish I could see it. JO---Washington Co. between late morning to early afternoon, so maybe already in Frederick Co.!

OK after I logged on, which is also new, I have not had to do so for a long time now, THE DELETE BUTTONS, for every one, are gone, including mine...I only have it on the page where I type the entries!!! All is well.
Good morning everybody. I just returned from the eye doctor. My eyes have actually gotten a little better. still have to go order the glasses though. Had to get back home to start work and didn't have time. Hopefully will do that this evening or in the morning.

At "the far end of the enclosure — a high swinging perch is waiting for the eaglets. Black netting has also been added to the back wall just in case the eaglets build up flight speed and overshoot the perch."

Usually just see Vincent walk away, Paula. Can't say for sure I've seen it fly. Thought so once when one flew in very low over us, then he was out front shortly after, but couldn't be sure. It kind of limps and the right wing doesn't seem to extend out all the way. This is day 5 of no visit though. Hope it's because he's found food elsewhere, and nothing has hurt him.

I have something neat to tell you all. The little boy across and up the street a little. I don't think he is 2 yet. His dad got him a regular big boy basketball net. Dad lowered it and put it laying down at an angel. So the little boy in diapers can try throwing the basketball in it. It is so so cute. He made it yesterday when I was outside. His Dad sits there watching and talking to him. When he made it I yelled "You made the basket - way to go!!" That little boy just smiled and laughed. It was just so cute.

Sadly these things can happen in nature, and while in many ways it is disappointing that we are not going to see chicks on the nest this year, it is worth remembering that our female osprey has now laid her 61st egg, which is still an astonishing achievement."
