BELLE IS REALLY STRETCHING HER NECK TO SEE AROUND ALL THE BRANCHES AND KEEP HER EYES ON TRUDER TO MAKE SURE THAT HE DOESN'T COME CRASH LANDING IN ON HER!
Shirley, Kate said she ran out of birdseed, too, that she was going to the Post Office and to get the birdseed, but I really think she's going to sneak over to the new Wegmans!
BELLE LOOKS LIKE SHE'S READY TO DO SOMETHING - MOVED UP ON THE RAIL. SHE DID A FEW WING ADJUSTMENTS AFTER BENDING OUT AND LOOKING DOWN. tRUDER UNDER THERE?
SHE WAS REALLY ACTIVELY WATCHING SOMETHING THEN STEPPED OFF THE RAIL AT 4 AND WALKED ACROSS THE NEST TO 10...LOOKED OUT OVER 10 AND TURNED TOWARD 2. SHE TOOK OFF FROM 10 BUT HEADED OUT OVER 2.
Maybe with the Potomac Soc Bird event at NCTC Belle is just being a good hostess and putting on a show for the people. Or is she feeling protective of her nest?
Thanks, Jo----not on the tour schedule. That's what I had looked up. Guess it is a private one for soldiers and their families. Cool!! And I have no idea how Dana got Kennedy Rogers out of Kenny G!!!! She must know a singer we don't!! Never heard of him!
Cool that y'all got to see another visit. Sure hope Margy and James were in the right spot to see it!
Trial done for the day. Now to get some housework done. I think Baez is going to possibly be in big trouble when this is over...attorney/legal analyst says he COULD end up in jail--not likely, but a definite option if judge wants it!!
Hedgie Kenny G has Fayetteville on the tour schedule - Tomorrow is NY
I was able to get Margy on her cell phone to let her know eagles were in the nest and she & James were at NCTC and waiting for a Fly Out. Sure hope they saw Truder when he did his Yo Yo flight
Am trying to catch up. Just returned from the Farmer's Market where I found some lovely tomatoes, green beans, and a bunch of beautiful radishes. Then picked up hair.
Lynn, happy birthday to your Mom - 92 and doing well is amazing. Momster hugs for her!
Hoda, what a lovely image I have of your Dragon Boat salute for breast cancer. I know it will be so deeply appreciated.
Really appreciate the eagle play-by-play. Helps when I always seem to miss them. Perhaps they are showing off for the birders.
Glad the police/media have departed, Shirley. Life will return to normal.
Happy to know the lab is okay and wishing the pups good health and a good life.
Wanda, hard to believe the AC cost for GG's. We put in a new larger unit plus a new furnace for about half. Maybe check out some other places?
Trial has really heated up. Lead defense attorney really stepped in some poop and judge is not a happy camper. Missed the second witness today.
Paula, sorry about the screens and water but very glad you don't seem too troubled and damage was not serious.
Okay, going to read the paper and put my feet up. BBL
Just heard a very disturbing interview with Michelle Rhee---past Chancellor of DC school system (who was porbably, IMHO, the best thing that ever happened to it). She said the current generation is the first one ever to be less well-educated than their parents. That is sad....but I've gotta say that my children's generation was actually the first---at least here in WV. I would never consider myself particularly smart, but I know that I had more knowledge in my head when I graduated than they did. The majority of today's kids are tech smart, but not book smart.
Morning Jim! Already up to 93. We are scorching!!!!
LOL Lori....NOTHING is as ugly as an armadillo!!! A good armadillo is a dead one on the road. Sorry, do not mean to offend anyone, but it is the truth!
Waiting for Laurel and the boys. Read the report of the last nest visit. Good job Jo and Lori! I do hope Margy and James saw them. I think there were there just for them.☺
Hi, Gang, Dropping in to let you know that all is well at this roost. No signs of any other rats. I'm housecleaning like a madwoman today! Need to find someplace that does paper shredding for you. We have about 10 banker boxes of paperwork from 3 of the businesses my Dad owned, and the time to keep it is up, so can discard it. Want it shredded because there is info in there I don't want anyone shady to be able to access. If I can get rid of all that, the computer room may actually look fairly clean!
Found out that Sis-in-law & Bro-in-law will be flying home tomorrow, and should be home from the airport by about 3:30 pm Pacific time tomorrow! Those bulldogs will probably go nutzoid when they see them!
Well, gotta get busy vacuuming and dusting again. BTW, my live cam won't come up--says a "not available at this time" sort of message instead. Bummer! Hope the ants aren't causing trouble!
Have a great Saturday, everyone! I'll check back in later. :o]
The TH female chick (only chick) looks ready to fledge, and I think it's about time. I haven't seen her doing much practice, but there are perching sticks scattered about the nest in a telltale pattern.
Okay! I have figured a few things out from your detailed Mid-Day Nest Report!
After receiving JO's phone call at 11:11 James and I got the nest tree into view while we were still at the Main Admin Bldg...Yepper saw the two eagles..... Had Jo not called, we would have missed that !!
Had to move to a better place to watch, and then saw Truder fly out (which was his second fly out acc to your reports) Wow, was that something, saw the wings spread wide and that while tail disappearing over behind to the "right of the barn" from our viewpoint. Then just enjoyed seeing Belle in the nest.....for as long as we could Unfortunately, we left just a very few minutes before Belle left around noontime James was enthralled, was so amazed he could see those white heads in the nest... Thank You Jo! And all the Nestacapade reporters so that I could recheck my times and perspectives on the nest positions
Also must tell you, that once the group got to the middle of a field between the Admin Bldg and the Day Care, (around 0845) we saw one Eagle on a branch directly above the nest, and could make out the second one was also immediately to the right of the nest (would put it on the Day Care Side of the tree) - in a leaf-shrouded branch. Do believe it was Truder at the top, and Belle nearer to the nest They stayed there quite awhile and we were all somewhere else when they left that spot...did not see them leave or flying, darn it
James and I had spent about 30 mins in the Admin Bldg looking at exhibits and things otherwise we would probably have been off NCTC property when Jo called...cool timing!!! App 20 bird-watchers....James was the only young naturalist, three expert birders helped out with the sightings etc We must have walked a good two miles total, pretty much made one big circle from the Admin Bldg, down to the river, and back... pretty rigorous vigorous walking... but everyone seemed to see some good things and enjoy the comaraderie and education
I sure don't mean to bypass everyone else's doings but it might be a little time before I can catch up! Meanwhile, this is what we saw: Two Bald Eagles Eastern Towhee Rough-winged Swallow Orchard Oriole Baltimor Oriole Indigo Buntings and BlueBirds Field and Chipping Sparrows Red-Tailed Hawk Mourning Dove Ruby-Throated hummingbird Cowbirds Mockingbirds, Brown Thrasher Blue Herons and Green Heron American Robins Of course ! Eastern Kingbird Phoebe, and PeeWee Purple Martin Barn Swallows Crows of course Cedar Waxwings Chickadees - Carolina and Black-Capped American Goldfinch Tufted Titmouse Downy, Red-Bellied WPs and Flickers
WE also HEARD but could not see: Northern Parula Yellow-throated Warbler Warbling Vireo
the bird experts could name these sounds for us...we all kept looking couldn't see them
WE are both really glad we went on this trip...it was a bit of challenge for James at times (you know the sometimes just a little boring routine) but he was a great birder Thanks for all your encouragement!
What wonderful reporting. I saw the second visit and was a bit late leaving because of it. Then I just got back and read about a third visit and how great it is that MARGY AND JAMES got to see them for real at NCTC...LUCKY!!!
The Dragon Boat Paddling was good in the morning a bit of a low mist on the lake and the water was calm. Paddled away under the bridge and a bit out and made very good time coming back in after our drills.
Went to a massage clinic in the park for the cancer surevivors and the paddlers and had coffee and muffins.
The RELAY FOR LIFE started with the Dragon Boat Paddlers in Pink and Black, forming an Honour Guard, following the Kilties playing the pipes. We MARCHED to the beat of the drum and the pipes with families and supporters of Cancer survivors cheering us on...when we came to the finish line we formed a pathway raised the Paddles and the surviors walked under the VICTORY ARCHWAY...Some had their children with them, some were children and there were all ages and all ethnic backgrounds...Some had tears and they all were very proud. The Kilties continued to play and when the last one cleared the Arch some drum beats and many cheers and the parade was done.
I am humbled and honured to have joined. I thought of my American Mom Betty, and of my sister Azza who both died of cancer and I thought of my sister Samia and her husbnd who is starting his journey with cancer and I said prayers for LORETTA, SHIRLEY, AND LYNN for their fortitude and continued good health...
Thanks Margy for your report and I am so glad that you and James got to see them both and I think of James years from now being a Dadster...Way To Go You Two!!!
I am headed off to yoga and will be back in a couple of hours God Willing.
Well, sounds like a really full day, Margy! Glad you got to see so much....did you also get pics??? And thank goodness our birds put on a show for you and James!!!
Margy, great report on the Bird Walk! Seeing that tremendous variety of birds was well worth the 2 mile walk, I would imagine:) For James to see our resident eagles was super...he will never forget that. Don't forget to ask him what his favorite part of the walk~visit.
Margy and James what a wonderful report I cannot imagine seeing so many species of our feathered friends. I am grateful that you were where you were when I called - You were meant to be there and we all thought that our eagle pair were watching you and James (I didn't get a chance to tell them who it was watching them) Great day for you two! Off I go! Prayers for all!
We all know that our resident pair usually shows up twice a day I think this is all in Gods hands for the eagles to have been there today for Margy to see and for us to have the three visits I did put the short 34 sec video on the blog and facebook I love Belle fly out she is so graceful in doing it BBL LM no came to watch I wonder what happened ANYONE KNOW??????
Hi, Everyone! Golly, forgive my manners! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LYNN'S MOM!!!!!!!!!!
Boy, sure sounds like Margy and James had a FANTASTIC time at NCTC!!! SOOO glad that you got to see Belle & Truder in person! That's quite a list of birds that you saw besides them, too! Bet James is turning into quite the naturalist! Some wonderful memories made today, too, I am sure!
Hoda, Your Relay for Life must have been inspiring indeed, and a wonderful tribute to cancer survivors, and a fitting memorial for those less fortunate. Thank you for your uplifting report! So glad to have you here!
Well, I have vacuumed half the house (even got the cobwebs on the popcorn ceilings), and I am pooped! Will finish the job tomorrow afternoon. I think we are going to see "Super 8" later today. One of the vendors at Hubby's work gave him a gift card to the movies!
Well, hope the live cam comes back up before Belle & Truder make an evening appearance! I will check back in later tonight to see what's been happening. :o]
What a list, Margy! Nice to know that our eagles are spending time sitting above the nest.
On my birdseed: I am out except for what is still in the feeder. Having said that, I did not purchase seeds yet. May wait until tomorrow. But the birds are okay for now.
I came home and fell asleep in the recliner. Hunter is with his dad and Kathryn is at a graduation party for a nephew.
Hoda, sure sounds like a wonderful day for you. Love the pipes....what kind of music did they play?? So nice that you have joined up with a group inclined to participate in worthy cause celebrations!!! I hoist an oar to you and them!
Well made it home. Had some things to do before I could get on computer.
Had some kind of plant coming up too close to my Variegated Liriope plant. So I dug the plant which I don't know what it is and replanted it. If it turns out to be nothing then I'll just pull it up.
Got a new flag while I was out. Had to put that up. Red and white flowers and bright green leaves on a dark green background with a hummingbird and the American Flag on it.
Oh I know what else I did. Was too sweaty so I took a shower. Then I made Hummingbird food. It is cooling now.
Our Belle is smart. She nows when Eagle Momsters are around. So she is putting on a show for James and Margy ( :
I see Hedgie's-Lynn's comment at 12:21pm. I made a BIG boo boo. I seen the Concert about Kenny G. and my mind remembered on a recent show Kenny Rogers was on there and sang. I couldn't believe he still has that great voice at his age. So my mind was not on the right Kenny I see.
Sorry oh well comment about the concert of Kenny G. sure did bring me some great memories of Kenny Rogers. lol
Margy, I had an idea.....I have a friend who flies....think I'll ask him if he will take us up come late fall for a look-see over Sleepy Creek....what do you think? I'll pay----if he even charges me! I have actually flown the plane he has--my ex B-I-L was a co-owner of the plane at one time.
So So HAPPY that I am reading a comment by Margy. Due to Jo's phone call. James and Margy got to see Truder and Belle!!!!!!!! YEA!!!! Jo your a sweethearth!!!♥
That is a memory see Belle's head in nest that James will never forget hee hee Don't you just love it when kids get to see these types of things.
Was wondering what I was hearing, then realized that it is raining.
I have to get gutters cleaned out. Water is dripping by the back windows. Probably lots of maple helicopters up there. But you never know. Will found a baseball once.
Hoda I love how you tell things in a "story type way". I am seeing it as you explain. I can see the pink and black Dragon Boa Paddlers following the Kilties playing the pipes. You all marching to the beat of the drum and the pipes. It is so surreal. Then I can hear the cheering from the families and supporters. Now I see the Paddles being raised forming an arch. That the surviors and children walking under what was called the "Victory Archway".
In explaining how you did you have made me feel humble.
You "Hoda" are such a good person. I thank you for being a part of this. From the bottom of my heart. For my family and many other families.
You made me think of my as I often do of my 3 aunts that died from Breast Cancer.
I too keep our precious bloggers who have gone through and are now cancer surviors in my prayers.
Just had Liesl out and I got a good long look at the RTH! He was jumping up onto a downed tree and flying all around the perimeter of my property! Too far out for pics even if I'd had the camera.
LORI, I did pretty much dedicate my day to Malcolm, but it had much to do with weather. Multiple thunderstorms have moved throught here from about 8pm last night, right up to 4pm today. What a production it is to get a dog our for the necessary functions and then spend time drying off the reluctant pooch each time you come back in. Someone mentioned that my aches and pains may have more to do with the rain than with Malcolm. Makes sense ! Going to try scan the posts for today and then it will be off to bed with a good dose of Ibuprofen.
Oh, Julie and the guys came for the dog at 5:10. He twirled in delighted circles in front of each of them, dashed over to me wiggling wildly as if to say, "isn't it great to see them ?" Very cute !
MARGY, it thrills me to the core to read about the wonderful day you and JAMES had ! So happy to get a vicarious look at our beautiful eagles through you !!!
I'm so bored I just created a new album of my family like Angie wedding and a few pic of my past and my family Now I must go eat BBL I wish our cam was working I wish our cam was working I figure I would try one more time.
I have returned from Mass & Dinner Going to sit back and relax a little - don't know if the Still cam can pick up any eagles should they fly in... Hard to tell if it is a frozen cam or not...
Okay, I've caught up with today's posts. Do so appreciate todays team JO and LORI ! 3 visits, wow ! And now no camera. Boo-hiss !
Way back, there was an NBG discussion about where eagles prefer to eat. The moderator said the adults only eat at the nest when ther are eggs of eaglets to tend to. Said they prefer sitting on a branch for their meals. I just hope instinct kicks in if Belle and Truder wind up parenting together. So far, I'm skeptical about his ability to do the job and I wonder how Belle can teach that. Well, I guess he's not the only first timer and hope Mother Nature has programmed him properly !
LYNN, count me in with those wishing your dear mother a Very Happy Birthday ! What a heritage you have in her !
JUDYE, sound like you turned boredom into a good thing !
Will be praying for those hurting and in need. Hoping to return to Early Birding in the morning.
WV_GAL DANA Thank you. It is good tocatch up on the blog when I returned and we have not yet heard from Paula to tell us about her storm screens and hope things did not get in the way of putting inthe counter tops.
YES MEMA JO THANK YOU FOR TELLING MARGY AND JAMES TO CHECK ouT THE NEST AS IT HAD BELLE AND TRUDER...
Kay I hope you feel better soon and that you are able to have a good night's sleep.
Lolly are you still packing the trailer or are you almost done?
I wonder how Lynne 2 is doing without checking in with the blog??? I am still laughing from her last nights' comment.
How is Lucky after the deodrant episode Stronghunter?
Someone flying in to see the eagles? how lucky? A pilot amongst us??? Just kiddin' I suppose??? or are you???
#$@$ Broke a tooth. No pain. Just a scraping against the inside of cheek. Will call dentist Mon. morning. Hmmm...wonder if this is good for invalid status? Maybe four to six weeks?
Margy, so excited you and James the Wise had such a wonderful day with so many different birds to see and most especially seeing the eagles. Know James enjoyed and you enjoyed for him.
Hoda, the Race for Life sounds as if it were a great success and very inspiring. Proud you were part of it this morning.
Dana, bet your new flag is lovely. As for the thing you dug up and replanted, be sure to let us know what it turns out to be.
Catching up. Jumped on to see the evening visit and not surprised to see the cam is down. I was pretty bad at times earlier today.
JO - that was a brilliant idea to call MARGY while she was at NCTC! And, MARGY I'm so happy that you and James got to see our lovely eagles! Sounds like a great time. I think we will all want to go if they do it next year.
JUDIE, if I've never said it, let me say how much I love your yellow butterfly avatar. Sorry about your tooth.
I'm very proud of you HODA for your participation in the Relay today. I would have crumbled at the beginning just hearing the bagpipes and knowing there are so many wonderful lives and loves we've lost, but we never forget. Thank you for your part today.
DANG! I checked the cam to see evening visit and OC said it was down...so I'm sitting here reading and you all are SEEING THE EAGLES ON THE CAM. OC cam page had this message:
"Sorry, everyone. EagleCam is presently offline. We're looking into it. Thank you for your patience."
No, Shirley and Hoda, I'm NOT a pilot----wanted to be, but when I had the money I didn't have the time; when I had the time I didn't have the money! But I COULD have been!!! I was my ex B-I-L's study partner when he was taking lessons, and I learned a LOT!!! He did let me take the controls a few times when he took us up. I'll never forget the time that he took my Grams up when she was about 85.....in one weekend she had her first dune buggy ride, her first motorcycle ride, her first exercise bike session, and her first flight in a small plane!! Such a shame that she had to wait til so late in life cause she loved them all!! She was a gutsy gal---at 18 she climbed the windmill on a farm on a dare!!! I have a pic of her up there!
Oh, Judie....haven't you had your fill of invalid status??? Glad you don't have pain. Don't know why you feel you need to copycat me and Loretta!!! We are the queens of broken teeth! And Shirley, too, tho' she hada GOOD bad reason for it to happen. Well after the fact, I was told that chemo can cause a weakening of teeth....guess it must be true----3 broken in 5 yrs. during/after chemo, and had never had it happen before chemo!!
NO, LORI----Grams climbed the windmill at 19!!! SHe did the ther fun things at 85!! Yes, still cam is where the last eagle sighting was.....live remains down.
HEDGIE she should like a good ole gal a hoot as some would say Its neat that she got to do all that even if it was late in life. Kudos to you for making the plane ride possible and you need to post the picture would love to see it
DANA take a pic of your flag I love banners and flags I have a banner in each of my front windows looking out also a good sun block besides the mini blinds
SHIRLEY that was "really nice NOT TO be waking up at 1:30."
Must be time to let the sandman carry me to bed. This is late, for me. :)
Prayers for SHARON's friend DANA who is sick with multiple diagnoses; for KAY who is feeling sore. Prayers for PAULA that she will see lots of wildlife at the beach tomorrow and tell us all about it - especially if our cams are down. Love you ALL!

BELLE IS REALLY STRETCHING HER NECK TO SEE AROUND ALL THE BRANCHES AND KEEP HER EYES ON TRUDER TO MAKE SURE THAT HE DOESN'T COME CRASH LANDING IN ON HER!
You're right Lori that Truder's landing skills have a lot
to be desired
HE DID POOL, JO.
BELLE IS STILL EYEING SOMETHING, LIKELY TRUDER DOING FLY BY.
MUST BE VERY WINDY, CAM IS GETTING LINES THROUGH IT AND STATICKEY (NOT A WORD) LOOKING.
MUST BE BELLE'S AGE, VERSUS TRUDER, BUT SHE HAS SUCH A SENSE OF GRACE AND PEACE ABOUT HER THAT TRUDER APPARENTLY HAS NOT LEARNED YET. :)

Dang, where is a good looking man who can climb 100 feet into a tree when you need one?
I would love to see Truder fly in
with a FISH - any kind of FISH
and of course let Belle have first
nibs on it!
Shirley, Kate said she ran out of birdseed, too, that she was going to the Post Office and to get the birdseed, but I really think she's going to sneak over to the new Wegmans!
DARN I see they right as I left and I have oh my goodness 112 emails since I left at 640 start reading Judy RIGHT
THOUGH WE CAN'T SEE HER WHOLE BODY, BELLE SEEMS CONTENT, NO RESTLESS MOVEMENTS, SITTING UNDER THE LEAVES.
Those leaves look to be on a vine.
I could yank the vine and it might
make them disappear. I would also
get ticks in doing so......
WHAT A GREAT SHOT THAT WAS OF BELLE LOOKING OVER HER SHOULDER EVEN THO YOU COULD ONLY SEE HER HEAD.
SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL.
LORI great reporting I can just see what they are doing in my head the radio anchorperson in you show Back to reading
JUDY - Belle and Truder came in at 6:39 this morning for first visit right after you left.
Lori,Kate will never get a parking spot at Wegmans - she'll be home
sooner then you know it.
SHRILEY I loved the comment about them getting the leaves in view of our cam Did you send them a MEMO LOL
THEIR SECOND VISIT WAS AT 9:39 AS SPOTTED BY SHIRLEY...
THEN JO SAW TRUDER FLY IN THIS TIME AT 11:01.
WHAT AN AWESOME DAY!
THIIS LIKE THE LATE NIGHT VISIT WHERE BELLE WOULD JUST SIT THERE AND A FEW TIMES EVEN SPENT THE NIGHT.
TWO VISIT NOT FAIR I didn't see them on my two days off I think they are punishing me LOL
Come on Truder - do your duty and bring the little lady some
lunch!

JUDY - so glad you got to see them. I felt so bad when you left this morning and they came by for a visit.
I hope KAY is lurking and got to see.
Anyone know when DANA MO is going to be home?
Maybe with the Potomac Soc Bird event at NCTC Belle is just being a good hostess and putting on a show for the people. Or is she feeling protective of her nest?
HEAR CLUNKING STILL
LOLLY - so the Vultrues are so ungly they're cute! Are they uglier than an armadillo? LOL!
Sorry, VULTURES - donw't want to upset LYNN or JUDIE. (:
Happy 92nd Birthday to Lynn's Momma! Thanks for giving us your girl Ma!
I am putting the short video on the nest video blog and also on facebook shepherdstown page
If I say right now there's a TYPO contest, I can win! Og...or Go!
Back to work I go before I'm late like I am daily LOL
Thanks, Jo----not on the tour schedule. That's what I had looked up. Guess it is a private one for soldiers and their families. Cool!! And I have no idea how Dana got Kennedy Rogers out of Kenny G!!!! She must know a singer we don't!! Never heard of him!
I so hope thay Margy and James got to see our eagles!!
Momma says Thanks for you kind birthday wishes!!!
Wow---cam is BAD.....I think we are going to lose it.
Hedgie Kenny G has Fayetteville on
the tour schedule - Tomorrow is NY
I was able to get Margy on her cell phone to let her know eagles
were in the nest and she & James
were at NCTC and waiting for a Fly Out. Sure hope they saw Truder when he did his Yo Yo flight
Good afternoon.
BBL
The cam page is giving me an error.
Yep you win it Lori - This morning you stumped me by saying that
He did pool Jo 11:28 lol
After a brief momment I said oh she
meant POOF.
Lori it could very well be that DanaMo would be home today or
tomorrow - She mentioned it was a
week mission.

GOOD SATURDAY
MORNING TO
EVERYBODY.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Gloomy morning, sunny P.M., they predict for So Cal today.
C(°?°)3 Jim
Morning Jim! Already up to 93. We are scorching!!!!
LOL Lori....NOTHING is as ugly as an armadillo!!! A good armadillo is a dead one on the road. Sorry, do not mean to offend anyone, but it is the truth!
Waiting for Laurel and the boys. Read the report of the last nest visit. Good job Jo and Lori! I do hope Margy and James saw them. I think there were there just for them.☺
Switching computers---will probably have to log in again....
Surprise, surprise. I didn't!
Putting a great FinFerry family capture on my blog.
Hi, Gang,
Dropping in to let you know that all is well at this roost.
It's kinda hard to see through the gloom in Irvine too, but you can see that the Hummer chicks are growing at a great pace.
C(°?°)3 Jim
The TH female chick (only chick) looks ready to fledge, and I think it's about time. I haven't seen her doing much practice, but there are perching sticks scattered about the nest in a telltale pattern.
C(°?°)3 Jim
Hi,
Back from shopping trip. Got some cat food for George and then hit the mall for some summer clothes for myself.
Now, I am in my recliner again.
I see that the cam is kaput. Knew it was going to happen. :(
Okay!
I have figured a few things out from your detailed Mid-Day Nest Report!
After receiving JO's phone call at
11:11 James and I got the nest tree into view while we were still at the Main Admin Bldg...Yepper saw the two eagles.....
Had Jo not called, we would have missed that !!
Had to move to a better place to watch, and then saw Truder fly out
(which was his second fly out acc to your reports)
Wow, was that something, saw the wings spread wide and that while tail disappearing over behind to the "right of the barn" from our viewpoint.
Then just enjoyed seeing Belle in the nest.....for as long as we could
Unfortunately, we left just a very few minutes before Belle left around noontime
James was enthralled, was so amazed he could see those white heads in the nest...
Thank You Jo!
And all the Nestacapade reporters so that I could recheck my times and perspectives on the nest positions
Also must tell you, that once the group got to the middle of a field between the Admin Bldg and the Day Care, (around 0845) we saw one Eagle on a branch directly above the nest, and could make out the second one was also immediately to the right of the nest (would put it on the Day Care Side of the tree) -
in a leaf-shrouded branch.
Do believe it was Truder at the top, and Belle nearer to the nest
They stayed there quite awhile and we were all somewhere else when they left that spot...did not see them leave or flying, darn it
James and I had spent about 30 mins in the Admin Bldg looking at exhibits and things otherwise we would probably have been off NCTC property when Jo called...cool timing!!!
App 20 bird-watchers....James was the only young naturalist, three expert birders helped out with the sightings etc
We must have walked a good two miles total, pretty much made one big circle from the Admin Bldg, down to the river, and back...
pretty rigorous vigorous walking...
but everyone seemed to see some good things and enjoy the comaraderie and education
I sure don't mean to bypass everyone else's doings but it might be a little time before I can catch up!
Meanwhile,
this is what we saw:
Two Bald Eagles
Eastern Towhee
Rough-winged Swallow
Orchard Oriole
Baltimor Oriole
Indigo Buntings and BlueBirds
Field and Chipping Sparrows
Red-Tailed Hawk
Mourning Dove
Ruby-Throated hummingbird
Cowbirds Mockingbirds, Brown Thrasher
Blue Herons and Green Heron
American Robins Of course !
Eastern Kingbird
Phoebe, and PeeWee
Purple Martin
Barn Swallows
Crows of course
Cedar Waxwings
Chickadees - Carolina and Black-Capped
American Goldfinch
Tufted Titmouse
Downy, Red-Bellied WPs and Flickers
WE also HEARD but could not see:
Northern Parula
Yellow-throated Warbler
Warbling Vireo
the bird experts could name these sounds for us...we all kept looking couldn't see them
WE are both really glad we went on this trip...it was a bit of challenge for James at times (you know the sometimes just a little boring routine) but he was a great birder
Thanks for all your encouragement!
Oh, yeah, Red-Winged Blackbirds
Ok, must start getting my grandson back to his roost, then can come back later on and catch up on 24-hours worth of Momster and Dadster news....
Jo, - Thank you again, Ever So Much !
Seeing Belle and Truder, was the crowning glory of a great morning of birding
xoxox ♥
Happy 92 B-Day to Lynn's Mom.
NO CAMERA OH NO what happen mssg under cam
Sorry, everyone. EagleCam is presently offline. We're looking into it. Thank you for your patience.
Well, sounds like a really full day, Margy! Glad you got to see so much....did you also get pics??? And thank goodness our birds put on a show for you and James!!!
MAGPIE I HAVE CHILLES KNOWING YOU GOT TO SEE THEM
SO IT LOOKS LIKE THAT THEY DO STAY AROUND THE NEST DURING THE DAY FROM WHAT YOU OBSERVED COOL BEANS
MAGPIE And a partridge in a pear tree LOL That is big variety of birds you saw Sound like you had a good time also
Margy, great report on the Bird Walk! Seeing that tremendous variety of birds was well worth the 2 mile walk, I would imagine:)
For James to see our resident eagles was super...he will never forget that. Don't forget to ask him what his favorite part of the walk~visit.
Going to be heading out to Mass
Margy and James what a wonderful report
I cannot imagine seeing so many
species of our feathered friends.
I am grateful that you were where you were when I called - You were meant to be there and we all thought that our eagle pair were
watching you and James (I didn't get a chance to tell them who it was watching them) Great day for
you two!
The STILL CAM IS on but I guess not working huh like before LOOKS are deceiving with it Ok now I history BBL
Hoda,
Your Relay for Life must have been inspiring indeed, and a wonderful tribute to cancer survivors, and a fitting memorial for those less fortunate.
Not happy to learn that the cam is down.
Hoda, I do not think I could keep up with you. You are one active woman.
Hoda, sure sounds like a wonderful day for you. Love the pipes....what kind of music did they play?? So nice that you have joined up with a group inclined to participate in worthy cause celebrations!!! I hoist an oar to you and them!
Back having caught up on all comments yet.
Well made it home. Had some things
to do before I could get on computer.
Had some kind of plant coming up too close to my Variegated Liriope plant.
So I dug the plant which I don't know what it is and replanted it.
If it turns out to be nothing then I'll just pull it up.
Got a new flag while I was out. Had
to put that up. Red and white flowers and bright green leaves on a dark green background with a hummingbird and the American
Flag on it.
Oh I know what else I did. Was too
sweaty so I took a shower.
Then I made Hummingbird food. It is
cooling now.
Our Belle is smart. She nows when
Eagle Momsters are around. So she
is putting on a show for James and
Margy ( :
Are you a pilot, Lynn?
So So HAPPY that I am reading a comment by Margy. Due to Jo's phone call. James and Margy got to see Truder and Belle!!!!!!!! YEA!!!! Jo your a sweethearth!!!♥
That is a memory see Belle's head in nest that James will never forget hee hee Don't you just love it when kids get to see these types of things.
LOL, Dana----I ribbed you good!!!
How old is James that went with Margy today???
Shirley I was wondering when I read your comment earlier. It didn't say you brought birdseed.
Now I see comment at 4:55pm that no you didn't. You got to keep them birdies HAPPY ( :
Margy that is a good size list of birds that you all seen. I am glad it turned out so good. Especially the eagle part.
Just had Liesl out and I got a good long look at the RTH! He was jumping up onto a downed tree and flying all around the perimeter of my property! Too far out for pics even if I'd had the camera.
Sofa time for me to digest our dinners.
Haven't seen any Monarch butterflies yet, but, Dustin just brought in a Milkweed leaf with 2 eggs on it. And so, the season begins:)
♫♪HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LYNN'S MOMMA♫♪
He twirled in delighted circles in front of each of them, dashed over to me wiggling wildly as if to say, "isn't it great to see them ?"
Very cute !
MARGY, it thrills me to the core to read about the wonderful day you and JAMES had ! So happy to get a vicarious look at our beautiful eagles through you !!!
DITTO that KAY
I wish I our cam was working I wish our cam was working ok how many time is an incantation any way LOL :0}
I'm so bored I just created a new album of my family like Angie wedding and a few pic of my past and my family Now I must go eat BBL
I wish our cam was working I wish our cam was working I figure I would try one more time.
I have returned from Mass & Dinner
Going to sit back and relax a little - don't know if the Still cam can pick up any eagles should
they fly in... Hard to tell if it
is a frozen cam or not...
BBILW
I♥U One and all !
♥L♥I♥B♥E♥R♥T♥Y !!!!!!!

Enjoy the rest of the evening.
Stay safe God Bless Each One Of You
#$@$ Broke a tooth.
Going to watch some mindless t.v. BBL
Good Evening all!
Sorry about the broken tooth, Judie.
Good to see you on, Lori.
How wonderful that you and James got to see the eagles, Margy. I am jealous.
Hoda, Paula isn't installing the countertop until next weekend, I think she said, when she will have even more help.
Hey, Kay....REST!!!!!!
Is the Still
Cam up? It looks
pretty bright for this time.
JUDYE - what cam were you watching the eagles on tonight?
LYNN - your Grandma climbed a windmill at 85? Whoa Nellie! That's awesome.
Hey Shirley - it's nice to be on tonight. Really nice to waking up at 1:30!
KAY, I know you're sleeping but if you get up, ((a big HUG!))
Sorry about your soreness. See you in the morning, but if there's no cam tonight ... we'll wait and see.
Oh, Judie....haven't you had your fill of invalid status??? Glad you don't have pain. Don't know why you feel you need to copycat me and Loretta!!! We are the queens of broken teeth! And Shirley, too, tho'
she hada GOOD bad reason for it to happen.
TMT - too many typos. URGH!
Oops---fat-fingered that---when she was 18!
Thanks for cam update LYNN!
Night all.
I wonder if MARGY took pictures some one earlier had asked and I didn't want to repeat HMM
We are all getting at the age of our teeth givin out LOL I have a partial on my lower I don't like it but have to have it
Has anyone have any idea what is wrong with the cam any rumors

Popping in to say that I forgot to

(Ft Bragg NC) and the winds blew her swing set (pretty big wooden one) over and broke it!
Just made me think of Candy and Jim down in that area at the concert
