HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DIANN!!!! HOPE IT'S BEEN A SPECTACULAR DAY FOR YOU!!!
Gosh, I actually made it here tonight--instead of sawing logs in front of the TV!
The story of Peeps the eaglet is amazing! Hope he gets adopted by one of the adult eagles! What a cute little guy!
Congratulations to Isla and EJ!
Well, getting tired, so think I'll call it a night. Judie, thanks for setting the night light. I've set the porch light and the security systems to come on automatically.
Have said prayers for everyone, and every creature. Hope everyone sleeps well. Will talk to all of you in the morning. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
I'll check on Decorah soon, post-shower time, but in the meantime, osprey at Finland, and I see Poop Shoot ! well the O disappeard but the PS is still there ! ttfn xo
I've been gone all day and missed Diane's Birthday:( Oh, not quite tomorrow, so I can still wish her a ♫♪♫♪HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANNE♫♪♫♪ I do hope it was a fun day for you♥
Happy Happy Happy Birthday, Diann!! Glad you got to eat out!
Okay, we need serious Momster prayers. Today's rain did not reach the fire area. However, tomorrow there is a chance in that area for rain. Prayer, please, for the fire ravaged area of Texas to be doused in rain.
I can't believe all of the horrible weather that's gone on for days and days....geesh. Cardinals game canceled tornado sirens going off and fans sent to safe areas of stadium.
Tornado about 6 miles from work....eeeek! Couple other touchdowns in Frederick Co during those bad storms.
Fires are still approx 75 miles west of Fort Worth. We are just south of Fort Worth. There are major cities between us and the fire. No, I do not think they will reach us but....... knock on wood!!!!
This is no time of night for an early bird to be up and wide awake ! Distant sound of thunder as massive storm system barrels toward Columbus from the West. Same system your mom had earlier, Lynn. Tornado watch on from 1 to 5 a.m., so if I'm not on in the morning it's because I thought it unwise to use the computer. Take cover, I imagine it will head due East from Columbus and that gets might close to you in the nest vicinity.
Oh I was watching some old videos of Palmer last night...trying to clean up videos off my disk to save them....saw a bunny that Lib had brought into the nest...
Love bunnies, couldn't ever eat one myselft...but don't mind that they are food for others, especially for our dear eagles. Does that make sense?
Nite again!
Oh Lynne, Mrs Robin has been in the nest at night...if there aren't any chicks by next weekend, guess there won't be any....but till then, I'm not touching the nest!
I really don't want to go to bed---last night leg cramps were horrific. But with only 4 hrs. sleep, I am dragging.......so maybe I'll take 2 muscle relaxers...and then maybe not see you til noon tomorrow!!!!
Prayers for all. Stay safe and dry, wherever you are. Love you, my friends!
Lynne, not sure if she's incubating them during the day or not...didn't look like it the other day...not sure when they were laid, but incubation is 12-14 days...so I'll give here that much from when I saw them...I did read that she will sleep on the nest at night when she has eggs.
I'm b-a-c-k!! Saw the new comments! Love your avatar, Lynne. So cute! I heard the game was postponed, but didn't hear it was because of a tornado warning. Geesh! Kay, hoping the system will lose some oomph before it gets to you! Have to chuckle....Mom keeps her pocketbook at the top of the basement steps! Luckily they are carpeted, because she's a bit too unsteady on her 91 y.o. feet to walk down alone...so she puts her purse on her shoulder and then butt-bumps down the steps. Then after all is clear, she basically crawls back up. Scary for us worrying about her!
Had a grand time at daughter's house--scrumptious dinner, good conversation. Got home just in time to don the jammies and watch DWTS. Fell asleep in the recliner right after they sent Dimitri and ?? home.
Caught up on the evening posts, but am bound to have missed some things.
Lynn, yes, I agree, we're close to being twins--have discovered we have so many of the same likes and dislikes ! Too bad it took us so many years to reunite after our apparent separation early in life. LOL
Even a penguin laugh is infectuous ! That's soooo cute !
Glo, thanks for the great entertainment segments ! The Abba Eagle and Decorah Eagle videos are both breathtakinly beautiful and set to THE right music. Peep's story is heartwarming. I hope they find just the right foster nest for him !
Most of you are probably sawing logs and having sweet dreams by now. For those still up, may you have a peaceful night with some good zzzzz's ! Prayers being said for all Momsters and Dadsters in need. Am also praying for rain, the firefighters, you and Jack, Lolly---those fires are getting too close for comfort ! Too bad we can't share some of the deluge we've received in the last 24 hours, but hope God sends toward those wildfires soon.
Tracey is my good friend, a licensed vet tech and the soon to be former Director of Animal Care at our local nature center. There are some pics on my blog..somewhere! She is also a magnet for injured wildlife!
The mother is dead and the babies are still "pinkies", very, very young. She will take them to the wildlife rehabilitator first thing in the morning. If anyone can save them, she can. Hope they can make it through the night.
Lynn, meant to comment on the comical picture you painted of your mom butt bumping down the stairs ! It sounds like she's one spunky lady. My mother would be 91 today, too, but we lost her when she was just 45. I'm sure you know how lucky you are to have had the benefit of a mother's love for so long.
Lynne, I found her in the 2009 pictures---with an owl she was saving. Wasn't sure, but looked at the comments and some of them referred to her by name. Neat ! You've done a lot of work on your blog since I last looked---lovely !
Better say Good Night once again, Prayers for Save Haven overnight, for all
Liz if you are still here, I did check out Decorah, wooh, heard owls hooting and dogs barking and ice melting....that lens was really ice-encrusted for awhile...Mom's drool might freeze if she does that again
Fin-Ferry Ospreys are busy busy busy! Put a pic on my Feathers link, Wheee-Ha!
Do you know if whoever has the deceased eagle or NCTC had taken pics of it so they could compare it with pics of Liberty to see if it was him? Would they do that?
WV DANA, So happy to hear you're smartly taking care of yourself and readjusting meds. I think everyone tries taking less, until . . .
I was lucky that my mother went through Perry's clothing for me. We donated it to a men's home in Frederick...tho I still have several pieces hanging in my closet and his slippers under my bed. :)
I'm so happy to know you're doing better. Big, big hug! You'll be fine, Dana, and you can always call if you aren't and we'll make sure you are!
Enjoying my cup of coffee with you this morning! Half day of school and then 11 days off! Very excited to have some family time and home time. Oh and time to take the flying labs on long walks... :)
Enjoyed my hug !♥♥♥ Now waking myself up with that cup of coffee--thanks for getting it ready for me !
Lynne2, thanks for trying to give me a shout out earlier this a.m., but I didn't hear you. Do so appretiate your concern and prayers. They worked ! Looks like it hasn't stopped raining for a minute, but no severe storm as was predicted. Not here in the Clintonville area of Columbus anyway. I've only checked on line weather, but the tornado watch is off. There are flood warnings for areas East and South of me.
Kay, it's not raining but it is very foggy in some areas this morning. I'm thinking that's why it was so bright so early this morning - the cam picking up the light of the fog. ???
Dana, enjoy your Spring Break--hope the weather improves next week ! My grandson, Seth, is on Spring Break this week. His mother, who teaches at Columbus State doesn't have the same sked.. The last three years he and I have used the week for day trips to the zoo, museums, parks.... This year we're only doing a couple of things, Red Lobster lunch today and perhaps the zoo on Friday. He's working two days at our nearby food pantry, getting in some hours of public service in on the 120 needed to graduate from H.S. in 13'. I miss the past routine, but he's growing up and there are new demands on his time !
Wow love the color with fog Pretty and Good morning one and all Loved all the eagle video and the penguin Which by the way was just on the new on fox funny
Today's nest weather forecast-Patchy dense fog in the morning. Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning...then partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms may be severe in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph...becoming southwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 40 percent. Good morning!
LOL Kay! I guess all schools have to have those community service requirements. Ours is 100 hours, but the kids get a special cord for over 200 which both my oldest have received. We all go on a mission trip each year with Catholic Heart Work Camp (my kids let me chaperone). It's a fantastic experience. I think it's a great addition to graduation requirements.
As they get older they do seem to have less time for us. My dad has been my kids driving instructor which has been a great opportunity for some bonding. He's on his third one! :)
I missed Truders visit cause I was snuggling with the lazy labs.
Yeah, too much wind and rain in the forecast for me. Need to plant, but can't get back into the garden now. Good morning Kay, JudyE, Lori, Margy, DanoMo :)
Yep, Dana, it's that time of the year, when the gardens need cleaning. I am just about out of room in the gh, need to put some plants in the ground soon. April showers are preventing me from planting May flowers.
Margy, good morning ! Another adorable Easter avatar you have there ! Seth is a jewel. My miracle boy ! He was born in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins in 1994 and spent the first year of his life in precarious condition. He wasn't a preemie, but had a couple of birth defects that weren't detected until about 3 weeks before his birth. Those attending him gave us dire predictions about his future and the possiblity of multiple physical and mental problems. One by one, and with the help of skilled surgeons and pediatricians, he has conquered most of those problems. He's a very intelligent honor roll student, a budding journalist and the sweetest young man imaginable ! Once Easter week is over I'll use a pic of me and him for my avatar so you can all see him and a more recent pic of me.
Lori, your friendly advice for WVDana is spot on ! Your experience and hers are quite different than mine. Stan lovingly helped me with a course of action plan as we had long term advance notice of the probablity of his death. As soon as that happened and with peace in my heart I carried out that plan. We both knew I'd be better off living near the kids, so I put the house on the market, put the wheels in motion for my retirement and immediately gave his belongings to relatives, friends and charities. He died on June 10, 2007 and I drove out of Bullhead City, AZ on November 7th, en route to Columbus. I have mementos and pictures to remind me daily of his love, but that dreaded clearing out of clothing, etc. was forced on me early and, I believe, served me well.
Kay, I was hoping WV Dana would take my intrusion the right way, and she did! I'm very proud of her. I've always wanted to be a mental health advocate. You were very smart moving near your children. We had time to get Perry's things sorted out too but I sure didn't like being the estate executor. You would think the govt could make dying a little easier on those who survive. :)
That was a tough time because he died Dec. 20, 2005. It's taken a while for Christmas to even be Christmas tho I'm confident one day it will yield only happy memories. I'm almost there.
I'm glad you found your way to Eaglet Momsters Kay!
Thank you, Lori ! I love having all of you as facilitators for my Eagle addiction ! There is now a special place in my heart for Eagle Momsters. You are a vital life line, a daily blessing and I'm so grateful to you all !
Good morning again, Lynne ! Hope you got some good rest--too short a night for both of us ! No, I don't have a weather radio, just rely on regular radio and TV for alerts. One of the things I didn't bring with me was my scanner which had a weather band on it. I felt I was spending far too much time listening to police and fire calls--another thing that turns into addiction ! I'll have to check out weather radios. Do you have one to recommend ?
Sorry Kay, got distracted by the Cardinals outside.
I don't have specific recommendations on one, but I'd get the best your budget allows. I actually have a weather band on my clock radio, and another on a portable radio. Problem is, the weather band has to be playing in order to get the alerts. I used to have one that I could just set to "alarm" and it would sound off without having to constantly listen. That would be the perfect kind for at night I think. To wake you up in emergency, but not keep you up having to listen to constant weather reporting. Over all , they really are not that expensive at all for the basics. Always so sad when I hear of people dying or getting injured, epsecially in areas where severe weather is common...I wonder how they could have gone to sleep knowing severe weather was eminent, or did they not know, or why don't they have a weather radio.
Hopefully the fog will be gone soon, and we can get to the 80° + they are forecasting for today!
Taking Nugz to the vets this morning...when I got home last night, I noticed he had developed an ear hematoma. That is blood/fluid between the flaps of the ear...they will probably drain it and put a drain it...he should be just fine. Just wanted it taken care of asap...heading to the beach Thursday night!
Nene, the new injured eagle is just that, a new injured eagle!! Not Liberty not Belle. It was found near the Ferry at a deer's road kill. Apparently there were two other eagles there and a vulture they were not hit. This one was injured. Lots of eagles this part of the world it seems like...
Thanks for the radio advice, Lynne ! We have a county wide alert system that will blast you right out of bed. So far I've relied on it, going straight to TV or radio immediately upon hearing it. I really should have a battery operated back up. My ol' boombox w/batteries died about a year ago. I'll shop on line for something that will give me added protection.
The picture Steve posted on the home page sure doesn't look like Liberty to me. It's a beauty and I'm so glad there was a rescue, but guess we are still waiting for any sign of our beloved Lib !
Paula, has Nugz had this kind of thing before ? Hope the vet fixes him up, pronto ! Also hope the weather cooperates with you at the beach house. I know you have help coming and want to accomplish a lot. Will look forward to your accounts of Eagle sightings !
Good morning everyone. We survived another stormy night. Things are calming down now. We may have more later today. I'm off to the barber later this morning.
ah Ear Hematomas....Paula, our vets don't do the messy drain thing anymore...they use pred and...uh, shoot. Well, anyway, it works just as fast and as well without the mess!
Red, glad you weathered the storms yesterday. Didn't realize you had more bad weather. I didn't get home til late PM and they were talking about the upper midwest at that point.
Last week was National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week----don't know why we didn't know that then..but, at any rate, a belated big thank you to Margy and Carolyn (Magpie and Jewels) for their professionalism and dedication to their job!
Kay, I have a Hazards All-weather NOAA weather radio....it can be set for continues, or for Alert. Totally programmable.....but takes a while to understand how to do that! Always hoping the batteries don't die when I have it off the charger so that I don't have to reprogram!
JudyE, glad that your work-week ends today!
Lynne, what is Tracey going to do??? And what a shame that you can't have job!

Lynn, I didn't take my bunny pic, found it a long time ago...
Stay safe Kay! They are calling for "possible" severe storms here tomorrow. But I don't think as bad as you'll be getting, again.
that's good Lolly, and I will pray they stay away!

Sends some rain toward..., that is.
OH MY GOSH...Tracey has just save a 'possum and 7 babies, hit by car...MTBR
Lynne2, what a sweet avatar. It's fun to watch these Easter Bunnies multiply !
I don't know who Tracey is, but God bless her and the possums, too !
they are multiplying like Rabbits.

I have to post my Heron pics...will work on that tomorrow.
Wait a minute, Aug. 13, 3020 ? Are you some kind of alien, or what !!! I think it's time we both called it a night !☺
DUH! Of course you know I meant 2010!
Yep, time for bed...LOL!

Has anyone heard any news confirming the sex of the eagle? Sure wish the injured eagle was Liberty.
nene I am hoping the same thing and he will get better and fly soon..
Do you know if whoever has the deceased eagle or NCTC had taken pics of it so they could compare it with pics of Liberty to see if it was him? Would they do that?
The eagle was injured but alive last I heard
Good Morning Eagle Maniacs!
Nest a very dark. Awaiting the arrival of Belle and Truder if it's not raining.
Morning fellow Early Birds KayIM, DanaMO, JudyE and all!
WV DANA,
So happy to hear you're smartly taking care of yourself and readjusting meds.
No rain in Hagerstown this morning. Good morning Lori!
Good Morning Kay, here's your morning BIG HUG. There's fresh coffee in the kitchen for you and DANA-M0 AND JUDY E, and anyone else who stops in.
Help yourselves! :)
Enjoying my cup of coffee with you this morning! Half day of school and then 11 days off! Very excited to have some family time and home time. Oh and time to take the flying labs on long walks... :)
Hi Dana - I just had to enlarge your avatar to see the pic - that must be your son with _____. (fill in the blank.)
Gosh, looks like daylight at the nest already!
I must be a terrible Auntie Lori that I can't tell my 3 neices and nephews apart!
that is my 15 y/o son Adam with Boomerang.
And is that you with_____?
Good morning Lori n' Dana !
Enjoyed my hug !♥♥♥ Now waking myself up with that cup of coffee--thanks for getting it ready for me !

Is the nest bathed in sunshine or is it raining ?
Kay, it's not raining but it is very foggy in some areas this morning. I'm thinking that's why it was so bright so early this morning - the cam picking up the light of the fog. ???
No sunshine...the fog is rolling in here in Hagerstown. I think it might be foggy in Shepherdstown as well.
I guess I should have said community service---I'm listening to NPR and on the alert for public service announcements, specifically about the weather.
OOOOhhhh, look at that color ! Yep, I see the foggy mist is obscuring the green grass and trees today.
Wow love the color with fog Pretty and Good morning one and all Loved all the eagle video and the penguin Which by the way was just on the new on fox funny
Eagle arrives !
Truder just flew in
/Truder, as usual
TRUDER IN THE NEST
Poof ! Such short visits lately !
TRUDER POOF - HE'S GONE.
Truder flew out to the right
Geez, he could spend a little time with us.
The fog and the color almost makes it look as if the nest is underwater. Weird!
I guess he doesn't like early morning coffee breath !
Good morning JudyE and Megan!. Thanks for the weather report !
Off to work I go BBL at lunch Today is my Friday Yeah
Good Morning Eagle Friends!
that is a weather forecast with lots of variety Megan
thanks!
nest looks like an artist's palette...
Just missed the visit by seconds...
would like to see Belle now !
Have a great day JudyE, I'll be off soon myself to get showered and ready for the day!
Going to hang a few more minutes to finish my coffee and see if Truder reappears.
sounds like great time-off-from-school action coming up for many of you...
Kay - Seth - sounds like the kind of grandson we would ALL like to have ☺
Halo Margy!
Yeah, too much wind and rain in the forecast for me. Need to plant, but can't get back into the garden now.
Good morning Kay, JudyE, Lori, Margy, DanoMo :)
Good morning Megan. I have so much yard work to do it's unbelievable! And there is still so much rain in our forecast!
I really don't like gardening in mud either Megan!
Margy, your bunny avatar is so cute!
wish the weather would cooperate a little better with your gardening and farming needs, Megan
and with your knees-needs
Sure is nice to be with you here this morning, folks ☺
Sun is trying to climb through the clouds and fog now here ☼
Yep, Dana, it's that time of the year, when the gardens need cleaning.
Megan you gotta try that Source Natural's Hylauronic Acid Joint Complex -it's remarkable!
looking forward to that Kay!
The Bunny
Bunny in Bibs, or Bunny with Flowers....
Lynne2 sent that to me! And Paula helped the dinosaur get it to "life-size"
Glad you like it, I do too ☺
I will look into that, Lori.
Happy Farm Trails to your chicks, DanaMo

Happy Friday JudyE - know what you are looking forward to in the next few days! Jordyn Time ! ☺

Final count on the chicks was 5.
Have a great day everyone. I'm signing off...a little disappointed that there hasn't been a visit from Belle...

Thanks DanaMo

HAGO, all ! I'm heading for e-mail and newspapers. ♥♥♥♥♥
You know what I meant, HAGD !
Thank you, Lori ! I love having all of you as facilitators for my Eagle addiction ! There is now a special place in my heart for Eagle Momsters. You are a vital life line, a daily blessing and I'm so grateful to you all !
Goo Morning all! Chilly here...49 and just a tiny bit foggy.
Kay, so glad the storms were not a problem last night. But you still didn't answer about the weather radio!
oh LORI!!! I have something for you....check your email in a few minutes!
Lynne, I'll check back later for weather radio suggestions. Newspaper time.
Who does everyone think the new injured eagle could be? Maybe Liberty? Hope it isn't Belle....
Morning, all!
Nene...not sure if anyone thinks it could be Liberty... a little far from the nest...not improbable, but no specific reason to think so.
Harpers Ferry has a large eagle population, it is by two rivers.
Paula, I hope Nugz is okay:) good you noticed the problem before you left for the beach.
Good morning everyone. We survived another stormy night. Things are calming down now. We may have more later today. I'm off to the barber later this morning.
Still getting it down there too, Red? Like your new bunny!
Boo had the same thing in his ear a couple of years ago....as a result of an ear infection and shaking his head. Not sure why Nugz has one.
Oh No What is wrong with Nugz, the painter dog??? I must have missed an entry...
Just wishful thinking Paula....
Well Nugz is thinking this is a stay at home day....little does he know...
Yes, the "assistant" has finally been cleared of all his paint and is ready for more, LOL
ah Ear Hematomas....Paula, our vets don't do the messy drain thing anymore...they use pred and...uh, shoot. Well, anyway, it works just as fast and as well without the mess!
Red, glad you weathered the storms yesterday. Didn't realize you had more bad weather. I didn't get home til late PM and they were talking about the upper midwest at that point.
Good foggy morning from the panhandle.
Take a look at what Lynne2 found for me!!!
Last week was National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week----don't know why we didn't know that then..but, at any rate, a belated big thank you to Margy and Carolyn
(Magpie and Jewels) for their professionalism and dedication to their job!
Well actually ours didn't start until around 3:30 AM.
oh geesh....do YOU have a weather radio Red?
OK trying saying that 3 times in a row!
Yes and it's name is Scooter. lol
FU NEEE Red!
haha my weather radio is named Snowy. Never misses a storm.
Steve gave you a NEW THREAD!
Cute bunny in bibs you sent MArgy, Lynne!
Red, glad all is well down your way! Don't let the barber overcharge you!!!
Fog was a total white-out at 4am when I was up....better by 8....still hanging on now. Glad that it's lifted enough to make nest view clear.
