Margy, glad that your venture was a rousing success!!! Yep...bear scat is interesting. One day last summer I saw a pile out in the woods near the feeder......from up here I was SURE that it was bear dung....hiked out to look and it was just a stupid piece of wood! Very disappointed...but also relieved that the bear hadn't been back!!
I heard geese tonight when I was trying to shoot the moon, too!
Shirley, nice that Hunter will have a new playmate! Did you retrieve the phone from inside the chair?? Never heard of Bravo's...is it a chain or just a local eatery?
Yeah, Lynne, it was right up your alley ! Found when we got there, a flyer, with additional programs the entire week-end but this is the only one we knew about
There is a nature preserve, Eidelon, not far from Cacapon... Red Bud Week-end on April 19th I think...oh I have much more to write about all this when things settle down in our present situation
Good Night Paula !! And thanks, Wanda..if you say so, then button it is !! ☺
OK I tried reading thru most of the blogs and try and catch the cam, tori has me playing MMORPG's with her so I can't look to much or she will start chirping.
DanaMo I am from Staten Island, moved when I was 30 to Hagerstwn than Martinsburg at 33 still here.
REDBUDS!!! WOO HOO! Steve and I were just looking at our Redbud pics from I-68 last spring...it was April 16th. Can't wait! And I am hopeful our young tree out here will have flowers this year!
Yeah, got the phone. I have a corded one in the kitchen, but prefer to use the cordless. One good thing about a corded phone is that you can't lose it.
I was having a hard time finding the cordless because I couldn't home in on the ring because the other one was ringing, too. I finally turned off the ring on the other one.
Yes, I am happy that we've made a connection with the neighbor.
Lynne, that reminds me of when we ("he" still does) lived up on the mountain. We would all take a hike....single file: him, me, Caro, Chris, trailed by two dogs and even the cat! Indians would have loved to see us coming!!
This gal is headed to slumber land I pray tomorrow gets back to normal at our nest. I'll have a heart attack when Lib does actually get back - but it will be worth it!
Time for you nightowls to hit the sack so that you can get up for the 1st spring morning of 2011.....
Oh, my time to call Hunter up from the basement and go to bed. Late for Hunter. I expect Kathryn fell asleep long ago. She was very tired. See you tomorrow. Good night and God bless.
it's really something, isn't it Lolly! I mean, I can't really tell that it's closer or bigger than any other good full moon, but it sure seems special somehow!
oh one more thing....thank you everyone who has been researching, and everyone who has posted stories about other nests and other species of birds and the amazing things that have happened...very very interesting and informative!
Hello to Steve !! and Good night to both of you Lynne, and JO, and Diann, and several others. Hello again Robyn !
LOL - Wanda, when everyone was changing to their faces on the blog last night while we were stuffing ourselves....Diann was briefly on as Maxine! And to see Jayden on yours still, gives me a giggle, you were awfully cute when you were a baby ☺
Starting on post number 400 from earlier, thought it was precious when you said you would regurgitate for your babies if there was no food ♥

I have been thinking all night that I hope Moon will shine down and protect our wonderful bird and people family. ☺
Have to check Wanda's pics and Paula's video. I know they have Live Cam going in NCTC. I wonder if they are also recording. Might be some neat new scientific observations like we have seen in the last couple days. Sorry if I missed HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Donna Sat. & also for Donka Maria today!! I'm still going through older posts,

Loretta, I just viewed the Moon pic, great stuff !!
Thank you Loretta, Jo, Hedgie (Lynn), Paula, Shirley and Margy for the Birthday wishes. I hope I didn't leave anyone out. You are a special bunch and I am so lucky to have met you all. Have a great night (?) /morning.

I would also like to say welcome to all the new folks and all the lurkers who have joined us recently. It's very nice indeed to have you aboard! Hope to see you often!
Well, I am beyond tired tonight, so am going to call it a day. Prayers have been said for everyone, and for every creature. Checking to make sure the night light and the porch light are on. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. Sleep well, everyone, and I'll talk to you in the morning. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
WELCOME to all NEW members and Lurkers - come on in and make youreself at home. We are a very friendly, eagle loving family.
Hoping and praying for a sane day and an END to all the Trudy Hussy (intruder) drama that she's brought in since the little miracle, Paddy O'Joy's hatching on Thursday morning, March 17.
..and I am up, because I let Paula's video run through, while I went to bed the first time, so that when I wandered through on I could hit Replay, and watch that lovely feeding beak to beaking First time I was able to hear little Paddy O'Joy chirp
Today's nest weather for the first day of Spring! - Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 50s. Northeast winds around 5 mph...becoming southeast in the afternoon.
For all going to nest. Safe travels and get some great pictures. Yes please post what you are seeing.
When you all post the name Dana I think you are talking about me. Gets confusing. I have to stop and think now why are they saying that to me. Maybe we can use DanaM, DanaG, DanaWV the 3 Dana's straight. lol Neve had this problem in life it is nice though.
GOOD MORNING... Anxious to see what the Hussy looks like, up close. Scott, being a proffesional photographer, will have some amazing photos for us to ponder over.
ScottThank you so much for going there and in addition to the nice photos you will get for your portfolio etc, the valuable info and inste you can give to us as to who is who and what they are doing.
I would love some really good news at some point today. Hoping and praying for sure.
Good morning, all! This is really Kathi--I'm at work. Already a frustrating day here--MUST be here at 6:30 am to review lab work & I'm told they won't be ready until 7:30. So why did I bust my butt to get here so early????
Whatever. I'm trusting you all to be my eyes and ears today....so Ms Hussy is STILL around? OH NO.....
Good morning everyone. Still in Bluefield but going to head out pretty soon. Thanks Glo for the call last night. I will take all the positive news I can get, as I know we all will.
@Scott the female intruder is easy to spot because she is BIG and her tail feathers are not competely white. Nor is the white collar around her neck fully white.
Harb, some of the momsters are at the nest this morning to see what's happening. Joy is OK for now, the intruder is there, Lib was seen flying towards the river and Belle is on the nest. SO, nothing really changed. There has been no food brought in. But there have been episodes of Belle seemingly feeding Joy or using her saliva to hydrate her. It's been most interesting, and stressful.
yeah Beagle, I read that on the NBG site...that's the deepest sleep they ever get is when they are tucked and it would make sense that that would happen when they feel very secure. But they also said on there that they don't really do a deep sleep esp during nesting, because they have to be so vigilant.
Thanks for the recaps, wvgal Dana and Lynne2 and Paula. (This is Kathi--I'm at work and had to create new account).
I'll check in throughout the day. Praying to read "All is well: Liberty has dropped off fish & Belle and Paddy are picking their teeth!" but am afraid I am being too optimistic! :(
Good spring Sunday morning! Didn't take TOO long to catch up, but sure appreciate the nighttime reports. I checked cam every time I was up---which was several--and Belle was quiet, but awake. Moonie did a good illumination job all night. Either my leftovers from the Rumsey or my nerves caught up with me late last night. :(
Kickngbird...a most informative piece of info. TY! Okay, who is going to be the one to submit our observations to the experts??
Yes, Kathi a group has gone to the nest, Megan, Lori, Paula, and Scott. Well, they have gone as close to the nest as they can get outside the gates to NCTC.
BEagle, the nest cam at NBG has some experts that moderate the discussion and I have learned and awful lot there! Just like I have learned from here, too!
We think lib and belle were perched in the trees towards the right on the can view (on the left of our view) and when trudy came towards the nest is when belle flew into the nest. Then lib flew over the nest towards the right
Good morning everyone! I see that some folks are at the nest. It would be awesome if we could see their pics in real time. Is anyone on Facebook that can post their photos there? I just read through a ton of comments--- Liberty hasn't been back to the nest. :-( No food for Belle and the baby.... :'(
Morning Cathy ( : nice to have you with us. Yes Scott, Paula, Megan and Lori are at a curve in the road where you can see the nest. They are reporting in as to what they see.
Last report Paula 8:55 then my comment at 8:34 above from what they told me they were seeing. Should bring you up to date on nest and eagles.
I'm still thinking "beakovers". If Belle has been with Lib, then Lib could have fish for her. As opposed to my carrion theory, she could be bringing back tiny pieces to Joy.
I haven't seen Joy yet this morning....has anyone? How does she look?
Ok I was thinking we have done this before on this blog. I know everyone is praying. Let's do the noon time all together around the world prayer time at noon. That food gets to Belle and Paddy O'Joy in the nest.??? Well bloggers what do you think? Tree just shook.

Iris, hope you get some sinus relief. I take Sudafed if I have to, but use saline spray and a netti pot as well.
I heard geese tonight when I was trying to shoot the moon, too!
Shirley, nice that Hunter will have a new playmate! Did you retrieve the phone from inside the chair??
Never heard of Bravo's...is it a chain or just a local eatery?
Thanks for the link, Lolly. And thanks for the video, Paula. Truly and interesting event.

Woof !! if you get my drift !
REDBUDS!!! WOO HOO! Steve and I were just looking at our Redbud pics from I-68 last spring...it was April 16th. Can't wait! And I am hopeful our young tree out here will have flowers this year!

and some precious little cat prints ☺
Yeah, got the phone. I have a corded one in the kitchen, but prefer to use the cordless. One good thing about a corded phone is that you can't lose it.
I was having a hard time finding the cordless because I couldn't home in on the ring because the other one was ringing, too. I finally turned off the ring on the other one.
Yes, I am happy that we've made a connection with the neighbor.
Steve and I took the dogs (and Brother came with us) for a walk around in the moonlight. OH what a gorgeous night it is!
Great video, Paula, Such tender action!
I apparently missed something somewhere along the line....never heard of that Birds of a Feather site.....who is Lasher???
I'm gonna get that video clip of Paula's to play if it's the last thing I do !
I kind of thought the words Red Bud would get you smiling Lynne ☺
ROFL, Margy....not hiking back THERE!!!! Had to deal with that when house next door was being built. UGH!
Bravo
It is a chain.
As much as I've been with you folks the last 2 days, it's time for meds and sleep. It's been very hard to tear myself away from the cam.
It's been a harrowing day for Belle and PJ and I'm sure you are with me in prayers for a good outcome.
I'm back to my hug avatar to remind us that we are all together in this and I send you all my biggest HUG!!!!
Goodnight and God bless!
I was thinking that I had come across that Lasher name somewhere, but not sure where, Lynn.
Lynne, that reminds me of when we ("he" still does) lived up on the mountain. We would all take a hike....single file: him, me, Caro, Chris, trailed by two dogs and even the cat! Indians would have loved to see us coming!!
Crossword clue: place for a high nest....duh! TREETOP! We all know that, don't we?!
LOL Lynn! We had hoped to may see or hear some owls, but no such luck. Heard a lone goose though! And peepers.
Hugs to you too Diann, sleep well!
This gal is headed to slumber land
I pray tomorrow gets back to normal at
our nest. I'll have a heart attack when Lib does actually get back - but it will be worth it!
Time for you nightowls to hit the sack so that you can get up for the 1st spring morning of 2011.....
Have no idea who Lasher is, maybe Paula knows. However, Lasher is watching our nest and getting lots of videos.
Poor Belle, another restless night.
Good night friends

Paula, thanks for the video...so nice to be able to watch that amazing sight again!
Looks like Belle is tending again!
Cam is now at 9:54!!!!!
Good night JO!!
Good for you, Scott! Will be anxious to hear who was best with the sling shot! Will be watching for fish to plop into the nest. LOL
Oh, my time to call Hunter up from the basement and go to bed. Late for Hunter. I expect Kathryn fell asleep long ago. She was very tired. See you tomorrow. Good night and God bless.
I"m gonna have a heart attack if Lib is back AND another chick has hatched.
Yes, Lynn! I am at 7:29:51 and still running. Wahooo!
Good night Shirley!
Lasher is a trade name - I'm familiar with the other forums and the name would pop up. Paula or PattiO can clarify. Nite
Oh, very late for Hunter. Laurel's boys go to bed between 8 and 8:30. Though this week they did stay up till after 9.
Thank you for the video.
Healthy poop shoot = Healthy babe.
Good night.
Prayers for you. ♥
I was wishing someone had taped the poop shoot. They said it was white which was a healthy sign and quite strong. LOL
Any more on the nest?
Nothing going on in the nest for a long while, Robyn.
Okay, I see that Paula did get a video of the poop shoot. Great, Paula!
Okay, I am heading back to my book. However, will continue to watch.
Lynne, Jack and I also went out to see the full moon!
Going to head to bed now. Will be anxious to see what will go on tomorrow.
You all going to the nest have a safe trip and we'll be right here waiting to hear what you see....and hopefully it will be all good!
Prayers for all, have a good night!

Morning, all.
Nest is quiet, Belle covering egg and Joy, facing 9ish.
Very interesting info, KB. Thanks for finding that for us.
Good morning, Lori.
Belle tucked her head.
Good morning folks. Looks like Belle is all tucked in and sleeping. I hope she had a quiet night.
Today's nest weather for the first day of Spring! - Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 50s. Northeast winds around 5 mph...becoming southeast in the afternoon.
I think Lasher used to post at Hancock...think that's where some of them are from originally.
Morning, Megan!
Morning:) 31° here right now
Belle awake and looking around.
Catch ya'll later!
Dana, I got your email address. I would suggest deleting your post now so bots don't get it.
I hear calling from Belle, looking up
Something just landed in the tree, she is still calling out...has her feathers up
okay I deleted it. Thanks. Gotta get off the computer now but it's killing me. Heard Belle calling out!
Belle flew out of the nest, Joy awake and looking around.
We are here...
Hoping for a good morning.
For all going to nest. Safe travels and get some great pictures. Yes please post what you are seeing.

Thanks Scott and we are ready for reports.
PJ was just crying out. That stick you all see is NOT on PJ it is higher and over top PJ.
Good morning everyone.
Belle flew into nest 7:44am
One is in the top of the tree...assuming that is Belle
@Scott Belle is in the nest just flew in here at 7:44am
That must be the female intruder sitting in top of tree !!!
Eagle in nest still has the wound mark on beak so it is Belle.
Belle was just looking up toward top of tree.
Might be...Can't see in the nest but still one on the tree above.
Saw one flying over the nest and headed towards the river..Lib??
@Scott does the one sitting on top of tree. Have not full white feathers at tail????? Is so that is femnale intruder.
GOOD MORNING...
Anxious to see what the Hussy looks like, up close. Scott, being a proffesional photographer, will have some amazing photos for us to ponder over.
Hi, DanaWV.
Belle is pulling at fluff around and in egg cup. Now wiggle wiggle down onto chick and egg.
Well, Scott...Belle is in the nest. If Trudy is in top of tree and you saw one fly toward the river, then, it has to be LIB!
Kickingbird thanks for the information last night.
If anyone I have missed saying a Happy Birthday too---HAPPY BIRTHDAY OR HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.
ScottThank you so much for going there and in addition to the nice photos you will get for your portfolio etc, the valuable info and inste you can give to us as to who is who and what they are doing.
I would love some really good news at some point today. Hoping and praying for sure.
Good Morning Wanda ( :
Great pictures of the dinner last night.
Like the video of Jayden he is so cute and growing. ( :
I do hope that was Lib flying to get a fish and bring into Belle.

Some VERY INTERESTING information from KICKNGBIRD at 1:55am about what Belle may be feeding PJ.
Chicklet still needs solid food to thrive.

Belle looking up into top of tree again.
No Wanda. I didn't.

I have no sound from the nest, but advertisement was LOUD and clear!
I have had sound earlier Paddy O'Joy chirping. Heard geese.
You can till that Belle is getting exchausted. She leans head down for awhile. Then picks head up and looks around.
Belle needs food too. Please God let food get to the nest today Amen
Belle closes her eyes some with head up. Then opens them again and looks around, then closes them again for awhile.
Hello Eagle Fans and Scout Troop.

So for sure now that was Liberty that flew off earlier towards the river. Thanks Paula. She is a BIG GIRL isn't she Paula?
Just wish Liberty could get food to Belle and Paddy O'Joy.!!!
Trudy is really there? For sure? I was so hoping she had left....
Belle just yawned - no wonder.
Morning BEagle ( :
Hi and welcome Emilee to the blog.
Paula and Scott are there and are reporting in what they are seeing.
Earlier Belle was in nest. Intruder sitting in top of tree and eagle which had to be Liberty flew off towards river. That is report from them so far.
Morning, Paula, BEagle, Glo, Emilee.
Wanda I have my electric heat running. Have moved my laptop to recliner earlier this morning. With heat running I can hear noises at the nest.
Good morning Costume Lady.
Kickngbird...thank you for the information about the nares and saline.
Paula. Scott. Is Lori there with you?
Hi Dana.
Good morning, all! I had to be away from yesterday afternoon. How's out little guy doing?
Morning Harbingerdc read my comment at 8:34 above.
Hi everyone!
No change here it is chilly the crow is to the right of your oictue in the trees
I checked on Belle in the wee hours and she was not tucked.
I am not sure about this but I think tucking back would happen when the eagle feels safe and contented.
yeah Beagle, I read that on the NBG site...that's the deepest sleep they ever get is when they are tucked and it would make sense that that would happen when they feel very secure. But they also said on there that they don't really do a deep sleep esp during nesting, because they have to be so vigilant.
I hear something near the cam and it sounds like Belle faintly crying out.
I hear the crow now.
some calls from Belle, and I hear that crow!
Morning Thelma I missed seeing you come in at 7:42am. Sorry and Hi ( :
Lady.
Moring Lynne2 Paula and Scott are there and reporting. Hearing crows now. My comment at 8:34 above should bring you up to date.
Lori and megan are here too we rode together
Trudy is enough BUT CROWS TOO?
Oh yay. Lori there and Megan too!
When you say Lori & Megan are there, too, do you mean at the nest site? Sorry, I'm new...
Good morning! Would you believe I am up this early and on here?
Had to get on to see what Paula, Lori, and Scott were seeing at the nest.
Kathi....I am sure those on will give you good reports. Belle in in the nest, in the egg cup, looking around. Heard crows a minute ago.
BEagle when I was down a nest. When crows fly over or even vultures Belle does NOT get excited.
Thank you Lynne2. Eagle facts about their sleep habits.
We are getting a lot of eagle facts lately and they are appreciated for sure.
Thanks Dana. Trudy is the big threat.
Gonna throw some scrapple on the frying pan, and then hike out to get the papers.
Yes, Kathi a group has gone to the nest, Megan, Lori, Paula, and Scott. Well, they have gone as close to the nest as they can get outside the gates to NCTC.
yes Kathi, they are near the nest. They cannot get onto NCTC grounds today, but there is a place outside of there where the nest is visible.
ANother newbie, Scott, is also there this morning. They are our eyes in the field, hoping to see ANYTHING that will help make some sense outa this.
Thanks, Lolly! I feel so detached!!
So for now it is Scott, Paula, Lori and Megan viewing nest. We then have very good reporter plus they have very good equipment.
Morning Lolly read my comment at 8:34am it will bring you up to date on the nest and eagles.
thanks for clarifying, Lynne2. Sorry to be so dense.
Ok, the lab just called me. I'm off for a while now. Will check back in an hour or so.....
think good thoughts everybody!!!!
Then lib flew over the nest towards the right
oh Kathi, you aren't dense! It's a lot to keep up with here sometimes!
Morning Lynn!
Glad that Megan was able to join the group! Eyes to the skies!
Shar and Thelma---safe travel back to Bedford.
Good morning,
Good grief! If you sleep for a few hours around here, you have to read back forever.
that's good Paula! I hope he got a little something for her to eat.
Hi Hedgie.
Moprning Hedgie-Lynn ( :
Thank you Paula for that report- it a little to the one you gave before that I reported at 8:34am so adds a little more news.
Boy, you aren't kidding Shirley! Good Morning!
Good morning everyone! I see that some folks are at the nest. It would be awesome if we could see their pics in real time. Is anyone on Facebook that can post their photos there? I just read through a ton of comments--- Liberty hasn't been back to the nest. :-( No food for Belle and the baby.... :'(
I am just so thankful that they saw Lib again. If only they can get food for Belle and PJ.
Morning Shirley ( :
If you want a "fast catch up read Paula's comment at 8:55 the above read my comment at 8:34. That will bring you up to date on nest and the eagles.
Paula. So Lib is there trying to distract Trudy?
with all that Belle is going through I am so glad she knows Lib is still there trying to get to the nest.
Where is my magic wand?
Hi Strong. Kathy.
Hi Glo
Morning Cathy ( : nice to have you with us. Yes Scott, Paula, Megan and Lori are at a curve in the road where you can see the nest. They are reporting in as to what they see.
Last report Paula 8:55 then my comment at 8:34 above from what they told me they were seeing. Should bring you up to date on nest and eagles.
Lolly.
That's why I always say Eagle Fans. Always concerned about missing someone.
Hi Cathy!
I'm still thinking "beakovers". If Belle has been with Lib, then Lib could have fish for her. As opposed to my carrion theory, she could be bringing back tiny pieces to Joy.
I haven't seen Joy yet this morning....has anyone? How does she look?
Cathy, I am sure that Paula will post her pictures on her blog. Hopefully, we will see Scott's pictures as well. He is a professional photographer.
Good morning Lolly and GLo!
Belle calling
Ok I was thinking we have done this before on this blog. I know everyone is praying. Let's do the noon time all together around the world prayer time at noon. That food gets to Belle and Paddy O'Joy in the nest.??? Well bloggers what do you think? Tree just shook.
Something shook the cam tree and there some noise.
We just don't know if it's Trudy or Lib.
Everyone...you are aware we have two...a Kathi who is posting from work as Emilee and a Cathy.
Belle is sitting tight. I have not seen PJ yet.
Well, dern, just realize I stopped at 19 minutes. Did not expect that after hours yesterday.
