New thread.
I have been racing back and forth to DC the past few days. I had the honor to be in the audience on Tuesday at the Main Interior Building when the President spoke for the 160th Anniversary of the Department of the Interior. Had to go back down yesterday to DC as well...

Steve, you must be a VIP!!!
Lynn, do you think the doctors want to make sure Jo is stabilized befor surgery?
thanks, Steve...good for you:)
I feel a panda nap coming on. BBL.
Cool Steve- thanks for the new thread. Of course we all know Steve is a VIP...
No, Wanda, don't think so.....the longer they let her lay the more risk for complications....argh!!!!
Ditto that thought, Megan
Thanks Steve..for taking the time out of your very busy scheduled to check in, and for the new thread.
Nice honor for you, to meet the president.
xo
Okay, tough news about the delay for Jo, but you know how she would want us to be: Of Strong Faith !
And full of continuing prayers.
Good News for Sharon, that would make Jo very happy....we will have to ESP it to her for now I guess..
xo
And we can trust that that computer whiz Aaron will try to set her up with some cam-viewing if she stays in the hospital...
☺ Of course our computer whizzes are bound to record all the important things OUR NEST...
Wonder if Jo likes to text on cell phones ? ☺
lol....Margy, Jo hates the cell phone, was with her one time she kept handing it to me to call or answer:)
OMG! OMG! OMG! Have I had a wonderful morning!
First off we found the eagles nest! There were two juvies sitting high in the nest. In fact, I think one might have been on a branch very close to the nest.
Saw some wing stretches. Then adult flew in with possible a mammal, several "things" were hanging down.???? After eating one juvie felt so good that he started jumping and stretching those wings. He was going about two feet up. Everybody there observing cheered him on. (I was bouncing up and down too!) Then second adult flew in. This one wanted to each lunch, too! After a while one flew away and landed in another tree. After another period it took off flying, almost right over us. I got pictures, but where was Deb's and Paula's camera when I needed it? I will post pictures, but will have to wait til I get home to zoom and crop.
Anyway, it was a very exciting morning. This short trip has been successful. I am happy!!!
Just had lunch, heading out again. This time to the Canyon of Eagles.
Saw the news on Jo. God bless and keep her.
Lolly, how exciting!! What a thrill to see the juvies doing there wingercises.
I was hoping to find that Jo was out of surgery and in recovery. I wonder why they made her wait this time.
Sharon, glad you are off the Hoover and meds.
I wish there was an edit button, their not there in my last post.
Lolly, you saw the eagles that is great
No we are here to salivate:)
LOLLY, I'm so happy for you. You have found what you and Jack took this trip for...FUN AND HAPPINESS!
think they are extremely busy probably with falls and accident due to the recent bad weather...that is just my guess....maybe some surgeons are on vacation or seminars....as long as she is comfortable and stable it is going to be ok.
with a trauma to her body, right now all she needs is rest and quiet. And then the surgeons put her back together.
Doctors are probably all on vacation, playing golf in Myrtle Beach. My Mom needed meds and her doctor is out of town. I needed my Evista and my doctor is out of town!
they sometimes have these conventions to go to....:) You know Jo as long as her Ed and family are around, she is fine.
I called Suzanne and told her of the delay, and that I would not be calling her tonight, will just send her an email so she can get it in the mail first thing tomorrow
chicks alone at BWE...lokks like they are pecking each other
adult back looks like food has been brought in
eagle BWO, maybe brought the food and left
Jack and I are fighting over the computer again. Guess we are going to need another. LOL
In the distance we could see this building. Had to ask what it was. So, for some interesting reading go to this
http://www.falkensteincastle.com/
We drove up to the gate, but could not get close.
Once again the weatherman has let us down. 63 today, yah, right. It is 39 now, fog set in and that is keeping the sun from warming it up. Ice and snow is melting again, so we get fog.
It is 84 here. Wish we could hit a happy medium.
That is some building, Lolly. It says it is the Number 3 Wedding Castle in the US. $6,000 for the deluxe wedding, Included photographer, site set up, etc. and the help of a planner.
BOTH, our nest, never mind, one in, one out.
Me, too. Lolly, I wanted to open up the house today :(
No sooner did I type that, go and get a drink and, fog, what fog. The sun is shining.
Lolly, you and Jack went at just the right time!! Hope the rest of your day is as successful!!
Add three more pic to misc. pictures.
I am pleased with what I got with my little digital camera.
We are off! BBL
Great news about Sharon off the vac and off the meds that made her sick......continual healing for her.
grrr Jo has to wait till 7:30 this evening. Well believe me if Jenny is there. If things could move faster she would get it moving. Epidural good for Jo I was worrying about anesthesia.
Lolly tell them at the castle that you and Jack want to see the place. Thinking of getting re-married. Look online for reservations.
Lolly so glad you easily found the eagles nest. So exciting you got to see the whole eagle family...yeah!!!
Tee hee loved Mits poem about the eagles and Lolly lol cute.
Yes, Lynn, we are very near your daughter. You should come to visit. BYE!
response from Bill at Saline
Excellent! We're working on free desktop backgrounds of the animals. Thank you for the comment.
Best,
Bill Xam, famous video star
Stoopid Blogger erased me twice..
Congrats to Steve on meeting w/the High Rollers!
Had to read back & find out about poor Jo. Thoughts & prayers for her.
Good news,Sharon!!! No Hoover!!Now will it do your floors?? LOL
Glad Paula's doggie is getting better. I went to Dr. today--told him I've heard "aquarium bubbles" in one ear. Altho there's no pain, he said red & bulgie eardrum, fluid behind it & I got antibiotic & antihistamine. I actually saw him for aching hip!!!!
Enjoying new pics from Lolly & Lynn & everyone else. Friend of mine suggested making a calendar of nature pictures--that might be an idea for E_M fund raiser.
I'm gonna send daughter the TX castle link. Sounds German--many European descendants in Central TX.
Loretta what did the dr say about your hip?
Dr. is sending me for Xray. It only hurts when I walk a longer than usual distance--like sightseeing! I want to see how/what to keep it inline as might go to Greece in May w/daughter. She has a business trip there (maybe) & I can just get my own ticket & we can meet up before we cross the Pond & fly together.
The Sandhill Cranes are arriving in Nebraska, along with the Snow Geese. I got this link from the NE Birding Ass. The small lake is just south of I80 at the Kearney exit, maybe 1/4 mile.

Deb that's alot of geese and sandhill cranes WOW !
Deb, beautiful video!
Deb, it reminds me of Blackwater refuge. The sights and sounds.
That is just the beginnings of the cranes, next couple of weeks will be miles of them, mostly between Kearney and Grand Island along the Platte River.
Yes, they are sure noisy, aren't they! I would like to go down and see them, but it is about a 5 hour drive down there. I wish it were a little closer, so you could drive down and back in one day.
Looks like a gull in BWE nest.
Was reading Saline--Friday night toy night--tomorrow (weather pemitting) a special guest appearance!
I saw the white feathers.
Hey!! Ya'll can run but you can't hide! I found ya!
Lolly, not my daughter!! I don't have anyone in Texas!!
Castle very interesting.
Great pics of the eagles!!!!
Lynn, thought you had someone in TX too. My daughter is outside Austin.
Deb, I think the rest of the gull made it to the nest at BWE
Lolly, I think it's Loretta whose daughter lives in TX.!
Oh, hi Loretta! Amazing that the Dr. treated you for the ear when you went for the hip! LOL! I actually have one Dr. who won't even listen to a problem that wasn't mentioned when apptmt. was made! (My orthopedist!) Only allowed one ache/pain at a time!!
Wow, what a gaggle of geese and flock of cranes, Deb!!
The babies are eating at BWE!!
Last time our eagle was up. I thought I saw a chick or hole in egg. I keep looking a picture I took. Trying to work with it now.
OMG!!! I love this HI cam. This is fantastic!!!!
Just looked up Lolly's Castle. It's near Burnet & Marble Falls TX! We've been to both & have the marble to prove it! Was fun getting slab in the little roly-poly suitcase to bring home on the plane! I'll have to take a pic of it!
Red tails in Tulsa and Portland.
Oh wow, there was another eagle flying by the HI nest. Are there normally other eagles besides this couple there?
BW babies getting dinner.
I sent a picture through Eaglet_Momster mail. I would appreciate it if you all would give it a close look. Looking for hole in egg or chick. Thank You
Can you email it to me, Dana? I can't see it.
Is anyone else having trouble with blogger? it is so slow!
Never mind, it is working okay again.
anybody else have a picture? It looks like . . . . . . I just can't tell?
I can't really tell....maybe a hole...mtbr!
Deb, I had posted a little while ago and it totally disappeared!!
Yeah......I know I goofed! Apology! We were out riding around and I thought of it. Meant to say Loretta!
We went to Canyon of the Eagles, but were disappointed. And, we decided not to hike...it is a wee bit warm today. So, we are back here for a lite snack, Jack is having a beer, me a ginless G&T and then back to the eagles nest!
CAN'T SEE, CAN'T SEE, CAN'T SEE...I wanna see, I wanna see, Dana, send me a picture. Can't open it on Momsters Mail!!!!
Help!!!!!
Dana, it would be so easy to post it on your blog:)
Then we could play around with it:)
Good idea, Wanda- I can't ever see those momster email pictures either.
Paula is on her way to Mt. St Mary's game, said sorry she has not been on, has been really busy today and tomorrow too, will try to get on later.
Three eggs were just on the still cam. I didn't see a hole, but you know how that goes.
eagle up in our nest
Dana, plz email me too. I just get anmempty square in yahoo. Says Attachment, but there's no way to open it. DUH!
partial view of eggs
Mits, I see the eggs. No little balls of puff or fluff yet.
Looks right now like all 3 eggs intact....can't see anything else in egg cup....
REMINDER. Daylight savings time begins Sunday. Don't forget to set your clocks forward an hour.
I put up a bunch of egg pictures on my Nest Pictures Page. I included Dana's picture until she gets it posted on her page.
I think Belle just finished eating and is settling back down now....she kept back to cam, but it looked like she was chowing.
eggs look intact to me right now, but that doesn't mean the hole has not turned where we can't see it. it will happen when it happens.
look intact to me Deb:), but like we know, hatching process takes awhile, so it could have been a pip that you saw.
yes, she had a hearty appetite tonight, and stayed close to the eggs to eat tonight.
OK will post to blog
I asked Jim earlier if he was taking the night watch...never got a response...LOL. Guess that's a no.
guess you did, Lynn:)
Yes, it could have been a pip or just as easily, a piece of grass. We will know tomorrow! Today would be early at 33 days, first egg last year was at 38 days! Second was 37, third was 36.
yeah that is what Paula, said would be early for this couple, but you just never say never:) as Sharon would say...MTBR
Ya'll should see my dogs when they hear these eagles at HI. They are looking everywhere for them.
Miss Sharon, are you home yet???
OK A NEW BLOG IS SET WITH THE PICTURE ON THERE. IT IS CALLED Nest of Liberty and Belle.
Just click on my picture the on the above.
No, she ain't home yet. She stopped in Sam Black and Rupert to see some friends (in-laws). She is on her way, should be here in about an hour or two.
All righty now, If I go to work with my eyelids propped up with toothpicks....
I see what you all are talking about!
☺
Wow, Google kicked me out with a Server Error first time, see what you mean about a slow Blogging posting, Deb :(
Nice Picture either way, Dana
and yours also, Deb....and loved that video of Cranes and Snow Geese. Didn't Sandhill Cranes used to be nearly extinct? Or is it another kind of Crane?
Hedgie - you might just have to call me work Friday if there are Egglet updates...☺
Hi one and all, I haven't been able to get on the blog for several days now. Am glad I wasn't the only one having trouble. I'm so sorry about Jo's leg. Did she fall on the ice? Every one take care.
Operation time approaches for Mema Jo -
We can be sure she feels all our L♥ve on here for her.
God Bless the Doctors and all involved with her situation
Hey there Greymare, you will probably get this answer a bunch:
She was fussing with her cats at the door, there was a rug nearby that might have had ice underneath it, and she took the fall.
Jo, slipped on a rug, Barb.
Whopping Cranes are the ones that are endangered, Margie.
Yep Margy the pic through me for a loop. Even when I enlarged it...something is going on there.
bbl
Prayers for MeMa Jo and her surgeon. I am off to cam club and will check the Blog when I get home for any info.
Just like everyone else, my heart is in Frederick MD with Mema Jo. Pray for the doctor's to have a gentle touch and fix her up!!
Thanks Deb.... you are a walking encyclopaedia...and our resident ornithologist.
Dana - yep, know what you mean.
and Glo - look forward to your return after Cam Club, which must be Camera Club I guess.
xo
Prayers of healing for Mema Jo going up and Prayers of thanksgiving said for Sharon's good reprot.
Excuse my manners:
Hello Eagle ♀ and ♂ buds... I know there are some Eagle guys lurking here somewhere...☺
Let's hope Jo is in the OR about to start her surgery, two hours or so If I remember correctly.
Thx Dana, for posting picture. There is a lot of shadow on eggs from Belle---hard to tell. I took few pics after 6PM when she was eating & they all looked solid white. Of course, you can only see top of them & they were lined up next to each other.
We will probably be on EGG WATCH anyway as it's near that time!
Gotta get din din & see Idol, but hope if someone hears about Jo, plz post tonight if you can. TNX ☺
Sharon is taking her sweet old time going home, just talked to here, but she did have a good grilled cheese sandwich:) Think she is just happy as a clam now that Hoover is gone.
Margy, I can give you a call at work if that's allowed if anything happens! Email me your number!!
Have retiree breakfast in the morning; will be gone from 8:30-11....I said NO HATCHING ALLOWED until 11!!!!! Think the egg will listen??
yes, Deb, should be about 2 hours, they were trying to do it earlier, and they were wheeling her to the OR, but stopped and brought her back to the room, because the window of time for the OR had closed, I don't know why, but that is what happened...going to eat now...bbl
Thanks for the updates, Mits - You are a Gem to line up all these details for us.
Prayers , prayers.
So good about Sharon, and
Hedgie - I hope the birds comply with your request. Will email # later, going next door to tend to neighbor's request for a few...xoxo ALL !
I am gonna head to Princeton to meet Sharon so I can give Tom his truck back!! BBIALW! Prayers, prayers for Mema Jo!!
Hi gang. does someone have a copy of the email that was sent with the address of where Jo is?. I have lost it. thanks
Anne-Marie -

xo
Okay - it is flying through cyberspace to you now, Anne-Marie..xoxo
Evening, all!
Been a busy day, haven't been on the computer but for a few minutes...
Heard things might be happening here?!?!?
My Alma Mater, Mt Saint Mary's has advanced to the semi finals of the NEC tournament...next game is Sunday. Went to tonight's game the place was rockin'...Going to sunday's game as well.
GO MOUNT!!!!!!!!!
Possum is munching salami in Saline! Yum, yum
The cool part was that Mits' son, Kevin, sat right behind me!!
That IS Cool, Paula
Hey - I have about a dozen nieces who went to Moung Saint Mary's -
I might email you some of the names and see if you could have been there with any of them...
xo Good to see you, glad it was a victory for the Mount ! ☺
I also got to meet her DIL Annie!
Good evening! Jo should be about out of surgery. Would be nice if we heard something tonight.
Went back to the eagle nest this evening. Saw the two juvies but no adults. Did see a poop shoot and thought about Jo. Now that does not sound right, LOL, but you know what I mean!
Going to mess around with my pictures and see if I can crop and enlarge.
Into the pork patties now.☺
Now he's sitting in the salami bowl & tasting the tuna salad! Don't mind me--it's so funny & the only thing on w/sound!
Congrats to your team, Paula!!!!
OK, so nothing for sure at our nest yet...maybe we can see more tomorrow!
Paula, glad you got to check in....did you ask Kevin why he wasn't at the hospital w/ his Mema???
Just got home from a meeting- see we are all waiting on Jo news and egg glimpses.
Paula, that is really cool how Helen's son and d in law sat behind you at the game:)
Weird, I don't have any animals on my Saline cam? I closed it and opened it again, nothing?
Moung Saint Mary's - Huh ???
make that MOUNT !
Great pictures from earlier Lolly, will you even be able to sleep tonight! xo
Hi Loretta, hope your ear thing is getting better and also the hip - that overseas trip sounds very wonderful!
Deb, Possum pigged out & left ☺
I didn't notice the time on Loretta's post, animals are probably gone.
Paula, how fun to meet Kevin and Annie and have your team win, too!
Margy, My ear feels fine! Glad I thyought to mention it. Fubby will get my RX in AM. I had my sweats on & was gonna change & go to store, so he said he would go, but not tonight!! ARRRGH
Oops!! I misread Paula's note...MITs' son Kevin, not Mema!!!! Think my eyes have gone!!
Okay, I cropped the earlier pictures and enlarged them in the process. Think they are better.
Well, for sure I will dream of soaring with the eagles!
Tomorrow we are leaving here and going to Fredericksburg via Llano. Hee Hee....we will go by the eagles nest on the way. We are going to stop and enjoy the view again.
Well, Lynn, today I said you had a daughter in Texas, not Loretta. LOL
Possum Pus at Saline now...
Eagle up!
Meant Puss, as in Puss & Boots
Mother's awake...
Sorry, I meant Rocky Raccoon.
Oh dear....Loretta...
are you home tomorrow? Hope so, especially if there is going to be some birthing goin' on up here...
Hope all will be well Soon! xo
i left the earlier pictures on my blog (misc. pictures) the last ones I added are definitly better.
Did anyone tell Lolly that Jo didn't have her surgery yet?
Back again...on the phone, had to shut down IE, was all hung up...had the live feed on, but missed the egg roll
Lolly, so the eagles had 2 juvies? Any clue how old they are? Are they jumping up and down and flapping their wings or what? We need more information!
How cool to see them...gonna check your pics.
No! Where did I miss that? I thought she was having it at 7:30. What happened?
LOLLY, SOMEONE IS TRYING TO INFILTRATE YOUR BLOG! GO ONTO YOU PHOTOS AND DELETE HIS COMMENT WITHOUT CLICKING ON HIS AVATAR! yOU MAY GET A VIRUS!
Lolly, those juvies must be 8-9 weeks old...they are as big as parent.
They said the Window of Time in the OR was not enough. In other words, they were too tired to do it!:(
Paula, look at my 2:30 post. Yes, two juvies. It was so exciting. I was just thrilled!!
Loretta:
It is a wonder you have no ill effects from the fluid in your ear..like nausea or dizziness. Thank Goodness! " Aquarium bubbles," great description!
Hope they are done with Jo by now...
I bet Jim is snoozing so he can take maternity watch tonight...
Okay, I can not remember. At what age do they fledge?
Oh how exciting, Lolly. Thanks...
Hadn't made it that far back up the blog yet...reading from newest to oldest.
Read Mits comments at 7:29pm.
Tells about Jo and her delay for surgery.
Maybe I misunderstood Helen's statement.
Lolly, I saw that strange Comment w/a website too under one of your eagle pictures. It had 1 comment listed.
Your pics are GREAT!!We've been to Llano--for bar-b-cue! Hard to diet in TX!
So Jo will be rescheduled again?Poor thing. My thoughts and prayers for her and all else who need them.
Lolly - fledge at 11-12 weeks
It is not fun waiting around like this for surgery! And, what does it mean "window of time"?
Thanks Wanda. Deleted that comment.
I thought the delay Mits was referring to at 7:29 referred to the earlier scheduled 12:30 time...
More to Be Revealed...no doubt.
:(
I think Helen meant they were going to operste earlier today, but delayed it until this evening.
Oh for petes sake- operate, I meant...
Bigboy hatched March 18 fledged June 9=83 days
MsInBetween hatched March 21st Fledged June 9th=80 days
Spunky Hatched March 23 Fledged June 14 flag day=83 days
surgery was scheduled for noon, changed to 7:30, but sometime during the afternoon, they were going to try to operate, something about getting halfway there andturning around, because the length of her surgery (2 hours) eveidently did not jive for this OR. I have no idea why...
Thanks Paula for the info. I thought of all of you being at the next last June watching the three jump up and flap their wings. That was what I saw today. I was so excited.
The nest is just off a highway. Jack guessed 200 yards, I think closer. They have nicely graveled a long pull off and put up a chain link fence. Several cars were there, some with fancy looking cameras. Lots of visiting and enjoyment going on. It was fun!
It drops off to the river just beyond the nest.
cool Paula, the Mount won and you got to met Kevin and Annie, glad she went, they need the time out together.
Lolly, love your pics. You need to blow them up and get prints!!!
That's what understood it to mean, too, Megan & Margy. Couldn't operate earlier today.
Margy, I work tomorrow, but they have good 'puter. Think it's too early anyway. Belle is a late "birther"!
Kevin really enjoyed the game...
Gonna watch what's left of ER....
what was the score, Paula, who do they play Sunday?
I hate when they do these fake documentaries, like on ER tonight.
Good evening to all my eagle buddies. I have been home for about an hour and a half. Yes, I am Hoover free and it is wonderful. I have to do wet-to-dry dressings twice a day until it heals. It was a very interesting trip home. I stopped at my former husband's old homeplace and visited with some of his in-laws, then I found my stepdaughter in Rupert and visited with her a while. Went to the cemetary where Jim (my former husband) and his family are buried.
I can't get our Mema Jo off my mind. I love her so good. She just has to get better really fast! I am going to bed now. Wore slam out! Tomorrow is our hatching day! :)
eagle has been awake a lot tonight.
Helen, what's th skinny on Jo? I'm afraid I misunderstood about her 7:30pm surgery.
Going to post again so I can click in the box to get comments emailed to me! :)
She is getting up again.
Glad you got that vacuum cleaner off you, Sharon. Rest well!
last I heard it was scheduled at 7:30p.m., even though they tried to fit her in earlier.
Back again, had to clear up some space...better now!
Dr Carter on ER does have kidney problems...missed the show last week
Shoot just missed the egg roll
Mother just up big time, still is
Margy..train derailment at the station...liquid cars...possible hazardous material.
I think they won by 7 or 9 Mits...they beat Wagner...have to check to see who they play on Sunday....BRB
There was so much Eagle wing on that nest I thought Liberty had come in too! Heart was racing, the Computer Mouse failed - oh brother what bad timing, but I guess it is working again
Night All
Prayers for Mema Jo and family
Prayers for those that need them
Lolly, when we went to the nest in June, only Tiny was left...the others had already fledged.
I got a picture off the live feed, I'll post it now.
Mits
3/8/2009 Mount St. Mary's Sacred Heart Emmitsburg, MD -
NEC Semifinals 7:00 pm
We'll see if that time stays...we heard a bunch tonight, like perhaps 1-2pm...but this was from the Northeast Conference website.
We won by 10, 72-62
OK, Robert Morris is playing at 2, so the 7pm time is probably good
Hedgie! That's crazy! More good disaster training "for real."
Glad I am not working...and don't expect to be one to get called in either...
thanks for the tip.
Sharon Welcome home and so glad you are back in your roost. ♥ ☺
Loretta Okay 10-4 as they say, have a good work day...xo
Goodnight Sharon and Dana. Glad you are home safe and sound, Sharon. A nostalgic trip for you, wasn't it?
Checked the pic Deb, looks like a huge piece of grass across one egg.
Sharon, I zoomed right past your past. Glad all is healing well and you are done with the Hoover. Sounds like a nice visit.
I have live feed up and zoomed in...waiting for the next roll...
Sharon, glad you are home and vac-free! Sleep well.
Picture is up from last egg roll.
