Thanks Steven for the new thread. Our eagles were in this am early. One stayed then left, the other stayed almost from start to end 1 hour. Even took a nap in the nest.
Good Morning Norma Sorry about WVU. Yes we watched the game; of course we wanted WVU to win. White's thumb was injured but he got back in the game. Just couldn't get it done for the Mountianeers.
Tonight will be a wet Pittsburg Steelers game. Last time the turf was just layed ontop of the grass. Soaked and sloppy and wet. Don't know if it will be any better tonight...GO STEELERS !!

Norma I don't care if someone has another team they like. That's great IT'S JUST FOOTBALL. After all a player from your team could get traded to our team and vice versa. I don't just watch the Steelers and Redskins. I watch football. Love it! ( : And like alot of other teams too. Like the "old man" who isn't really old. Bret quarter back for Green Bay love watching him through that football. NOrthing wrong with Dallas either good quarter back!

The Fishing Cat at the NZ is exhausting to watch as he repeats his travels back & forth.
Clouded leopards' bed is ready but I guess they're not.
Getting to see all the little otter brothers - they are so frisky - I love watching them interact with each other.

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING TO DANA, WANDA, NORMA, JO AND PAULA. Just reading over the blog after getting back from mass and a Christmas breakfast at one of our choir person's home. MMMMMMmmm good. Anything is better than I can make.
The oldest Hummer baby is starting its preflight checklist again. I really think it will fledge today...should be perching on the edge of the nest soon.

There was a bluuurrr. And when it cleared, the biggest hummer was heading in the opposite direction in the nest...could mean lift-off.

NORMA So upset to see that WV lost. I couldn't believe it. It was 0 0 for so long. I was so sure they would win. Pitt had to be a spoiler. Oh well, you made it close. Maybe you'll get that close again last year.

That didn't take her very long. Maybe they will be making shorter, more frequent visits now. One can hope, but is is sure nice to be able to watch them arranging and rearranging their nest and getting is ready.
PAULA I can reallyl hear the Maine eagle from time to time. I can't wait until we get sound. That will be something else.
Norfork Botanical should be up in another week or two also.

ZZBear was trying to get over the threshold, Bai grabbed her by the neck and drug her back into the den, where she tried to escape again. Now Bai picked her up in her arms. Now ZZ is rolling around

Two days and over a thousand miles later, I am finally home. The trip went great. Traveled to Wheeling on Friday to see the Bluefield Beavers win the State Championship game. Left Wheeling and drove about 3 hours to somewhere in Maryland, slept a couple of hours and then drove to Manassas yesterday morning. Their Christmas parade is huge, 100+ entries and 3 hours. Then I made my first trip to DC. We went to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. That was really awesome, Andrew really enjoyed that. We were driving and ended up in the parking lot of the Pentagon. Still not quite sure how we did that. I really wanted to go see Tai but we were so tired by that point. So, we drove back to Manassas and got a room and drove to Bluefield. We had a whole 1/2 hour to get ready for the Town Band Concert and drive to Pipestem for the East River Mountain Town Band Concert. Now, I am finally home and have to work a while.

Thank you Mema Jo. God was really with us on this trip. I did a lot of praying for a safe trip and he definitely blessed us with that!

Read where you had another visit at our nest. MT nest now and Squiggles is ZZZZZZZing. Every once in awhile she wakes up and stretches and squiggles all over. She is sooo cute.
I give SHARON a lot of credit for driving into Washington. My son took me there one day, and I would have just sat in the middle ot all the traffic and cried help. He did ok, but we only got to see the Smithsonian Space Museum and were stuck in a bad lightning storm in the Lincoln Memorial, so that is all I got to see. We were afraid that they would leave and we wouldn't get his car out of the underground parking lot.
Bai came back and took Precious. I blinked and they were gone. Must be feeding time.
DEB Just finished watching your videos and they were great! You really caught some beautiful scenes and birds. Thanks for telling us about them.

Good evening all, we are back home and had a wonderful time in SC with Dan.
On the way down we saw 2 red tailed hawks on the side of the road on the way back I saw 2 more I was saddened to see that. On a good note while at Dan's I saw an eastern bluebird sitting in his tree outside his kitchen window, it has been a year or more since I have seen one. Driving home today we saw a redtailed hawk at eye level, he was flying on the wooded side on the interstate near Roanoke Va., he was huge and so beautiful. We did see several on our way down flying around or sitting in the trees.

Wow, cool, no logon again! Good Monday morning, world. Our "winter event" turned out to be much ado about nothing, I'm VERY glad to say! Drizzly, foggy, and clear, depending on where you are, so flakey weather this morning. But 39° in PA, 45°(!) if you can believe that, here in VA.

Wow, we now have commercials at SD before the cam comes up (ugh), and a totally MT birthing den. Not even a scrap of bamboo, looks like. Well darn. Our Precious gets mobile, and off they go...
Well, either the PA cam is down, or it has totally moved. I've even done a google search, and they all point to the pixcontroller URL, which is not found. So maybe they got some of the storm that was supposed to hit us up there.
Alright!!!!!!!!! Our ZZ Precious and mom are in the birthing den! Den looks soooo much better occupied! And our Squiggles is doing just that, she's half way under Bai and just a wiggling!!!

Don't you just love that Panda commercial? I sent them and email about the fact that we HAD to watch that stupid commercial and then when it is over there is nothing but an empty room. And I asked why their camerman could't do better than showing us an empty room for hours on end. I dought the email will do any good, but it made me feel better to be able to spout off.
Awwwwww, baby and mom impala on Africam. Guess our kids are sleeping in this morning, no visits yete. See where they came several times on the weekend, so that's nice!
And Tai is up and wandering around.

LOL, morning, Wanda. Way to go! I saw that commercial this morning and almost screamed! Sure wasn't expecting that, and it's too long! And yup, MT den. Bai and Precious just arrived a little while ago. Wonder if their cam operators are also volunteers? Don't know, but sometimes I think some are way better than others.
I think if you have to watch a commercial, you should get something in return....like a picture of a ZZ Bear. If the WOWEE company is sponsering that panda cam, surely they can afford a paid camerman to show us SOMETHING at all times.
Ok, I'm gonna take a break and leave the area....

Saturday the cam was on the other room with a platfrom in it. ZZ tried to get upon it so many times and kept falling before she could get both paws on top of it. She finally gave up and went into a corner and had a looooong panda nap.
