We are just fine! It was a wild and stormy night! The worst of the storm went just south of us. We were up til one watching the TV weather coverage and watching the sky. Heaviest rain, wind, hail, and tornado was just south of us.
Rio Vita, where the tornado was seen is approx 22 miles south of us. I have never seen, nor heard a storm for so long. It sat west of us for a long time and when it moved it was slow. We heard loud thunder for almost 8 hours.
gm everyone. Thanks for new thread Steve. Congrats on feather in your cap Judie and Magpie I see there are on occasion and extra feather here and there :-)/ Add my prayers to the list. Thanks for checking in Lolly. I hate the spring severe stuff. I do at least have a basement though.
Thank you Steve for the fresh Monday thread. Hope you're having a terrific day.
Lolly, very pleased to know you and family are safe with no damage. Was watching a crime program about a killer in Denton. Interesting cold case solved.
Waiting with everyone to hear from Jo. Prayers for the bestest news possible.
Dracula was gentle. Nary a speck of the red stuff.
LOLLY so glad you are safe and sound and I too would love a basement but in Fl not to many are here because surrounded by water and my center room is bathroom so tub I go in storms
/Waiting to here for JO

good afternoon to all. THANKS STEVE for a fresh thread for this week...CONGRATS to MARGIE....
And congrats to my sis JUDYE for her raise!
LOLLY: am glad you are okay!!!!
Beautiful sunny day here. A little cool, but not bad. We spent part of yesterday out on the soccer field. It was cold, damp and dreary, but Mia's team won the 1st place for that weekend tournament.
Went over to my daughter's house. THey had been on the soccer field all weekend, which is why we had Lorelei all weekend. We arrived before they did so I whipped the kitchen into shape and made some dinner.
Nice to feel helpful.
We were tired too last night. Extra company and go go go since Thursday night.................
Today I am catching up on laundry and such. I hope to get outside and prep areas to receive tomato plants and such maybe as soon as today/tomorrow. Not sure...
Glad I have today and tomorrow off....a chance to breathe and catch up.
I hope to open the pool very soon. It'll be a bit before I can get in it (water temps), but soon....
Good afternoon There is still some small cell cancer in that lymnph node soooo it's back to the drawing board. Appointment Fri with radiation doc for the decision about how to treat this - It could be straight radiation OR it could be a round of chem to shrink it and then cyberknife radiation. They will assume it is small cell as was the other tumor in my lung. Needless to say I am not a happy happy nester! But with all the prayers coming at me I will get through this. Thanking you for all your support Chat Conversation End
With you Jo. You are the only one who really understands what your body goes through with the treatment. We are with you. With our love and our prayers.
" chat conversation end" you wrote. I hear you Jo. When you are ready let us know about The decisions you and your medical team make. Respecting You. Loving You. Praying for You.
Good Afternoon to Everyone! Jo, many, many prayers for the zapping of the bad cell. It will BE GONE!!!!
Hear a little tapping sound at nest. Wonder if it's just something blowing or if raindrops have started. We are just getting some rain now.
Forgot to tell you a monumental happening! Put Hummer feeder out about a week ago when it was 80° and have had visitors!!!No pics yet. Fubby talked to Vet and he will bring by his cage. Hope to get little Tiger for more meds if she can tolerate them. One side of her neck is looking normal, but the other is sore. It's an auto-immune reaction. Hope St. Francis will help all of us~~
I'm going to attempt a bird inventory: Baltimore orioles (YAY), Mr. and Mrs. rufous-sided towhee, goldfinches, house sparrows, catbird, house wren, red-bellied woodpecker, downy woodpecker, mourning doves, squirrels, chipmunks, robins, cardinals, starlings, white-throated sparrows, song sparrows, chickadees, titmice, indigo bunting yesterday, but no partridge or a pear tree. :)
Been a bit under the weather, but had to check in and see how Jo is doing. I see she is making plans with her doctor for the next step in getting rid of the small spot.
We will be supporting you all the way, Jo. Prayers and good wishes. Please do keep us posted throughout this process.
JO, prayers, prayers and more prayers...Love you much!!!
So nice to see MARGY and HODA doing drop bys!
I think I've read far enough back to catch up on Momster and nest news. As always I love reading your posts re:life in your necks of the woods!
The long weekend with Eileen was way too short! We had a blast. Great meals both at Julie's and my place and great meals out as well. Saw an old friend, enjoyed Seth's company, had a couple of rousing board game nights, shopped til' we literally dropped...on and on and all good. Eileen had one on one time with Seth, taking him out for breakfast Sunday. They have a very special relationship. Again, all good. Saw her off at noon, but am still aglow with joy.
We have had an abundance of blue jays here, Sharon. The other day, Hunter told Kathryn that there was a blue bird hopping up and down and hollering on the back porch. Kathryn had him put out some peanuts and the hollering stopped.
Good bird list today Sharon. Hope to see all of those soon. Put out my Oriole feeder, but nothing yet. It is in the 40's today so I can't expect much. Robins are eating the mealworms meant for bluebirds. Every time I check eaglets nest they are plotzed. I guess they need a lot of rest to make up for all the growing they are doing.
JO you will be in my thoughts and prayers as you always are Sending you healing thoughts and prayers for you to get through this Out Spot OUT we say We will PRAY you through this
That was my delete as I got impatient and posted a duplicate.
Blogger has been a real pain for me lately. I have to verify every time I post and sometimes I have to type the scrambled odd shaped letters. I never seem to get those correct so I try to listen to the waves with a computer gurgling some numbers. I'll have to sign in again to post this.
Shirley, I forgot to mention that I am reading the book that your cousin edited , "So Much Blood". I am not much of a history buff, but find this to be interesting. I will donate my copy to the local library when I am finished with it. I doubt if there is much in their collection from a Confederate perspective. It was interesting to hear accounts of this soldier being near Shepherdstown and Martinsburg.
Margy and Hoda, how WONDERFUL to see you on the blog!! Pulleeze post more often!
Shirley, sorry you are under the weather - hope you have a quick recovery.
Jo ... damn, damn, damn!!! I'm so sorry you didn't get excellent news today! It's times like this when I have a very hard time with, "If you pray, don't worry and if you worry, don't pray." So, I will pray AND worry, how's that?
OK, so I have had my new range since Friday and have yet to cook anything on it! I know the oven works fine and I have used the microwave. So since Kevin got home last night from the music festival in PA that he went to over the weekend, I am actually going to turn on the burners! How exciting!
JO: not the news we hoped for, but holding you close in heart and thought...
been productive. I went and bought a few flowers and my veggies. I planted my tomatoes today. I will plant the cukes and watermelon tomorrow I think. I found some white radishes. I used to love those. decided to grow those as well.

Possible storms again today, but beautiful sunshine right now! Lakes are filling east of us, but west of us still is in dire situations.
Yes, wish we had a basement , Glo. But very few of them in Texas!

Hi Kay,
So good that you had a great family time.
Trying to wake up here. I kind of half-slept most of the day. It is good that I had to go pick up Hunter. It got me going.
Good bird list today Sharon. Hope to see all of those soon. Put out my Oriole feeder, but nothing yet. It is in the 40's today so I can't expect much. Robins are eating the mealworms meant for bluebirds.
