Hi, Gang, Sorry I've been MIA again. Have spent quite some time trying to catch up today. So eggcited to see that we have a second egg! Have been praying for Margy, Tom, and Larry. Margy, you are amazing! Sounds like you're on the road to recovery! Very, very glad that Larry was in the hospital when they discovered the leak! Hope Tom's nose looks really purty when it's all healed.
Prayers galore going up for Scar! He's actually not that old. Hope he feels better soon!
We have been very busy. The gang at Fender Musical Instruments had a party for Ken and his buddy Chuck at Big's in Fullerton. It's a pub-like establishment that many of the Cal State Fullerton folks frequent. It was lots of fun, and both Ken and Chuck got lots of appreciation from their co-workers. Oops--gotta run for now! Ken has dinner going for us, and must feed Emma! BBL!
It is raining in my valley and at the nest. 40.5° here and on Wed Light Snow 30% chance of precipitation. 42.4° at nest and also on Wed Light Snow 30% chance of precipitation. At the nest on Thurs it will be clear & 42°
Headed in to TV I'll try to come back around 11:00
I had a terrific day. Skiing was good! Snowed all the time we were out but it was not sticky! It was fast skiing and with the snow it was magical and soft. Went to Kundalini Yoga class. A bit difficult as we dealt with Forgiveness of self and others. Good food today and I need to drink more water. Don't want to dehydrate.
Oh JO I am sorry Mr Scar is feeling poorly. You will know when it is time and I am sure you will do right by him.
LOLLY glad the shower went well. Your gifts are great.
Stunned about a second surgery for LARRY and very grateful they caught it while he was still in the hospital. Amazing what modern medicine can do.
MARGY you rock awesome! Way to go. Thank you for news from NCSUZAN. I am glad she is reading the blog and will be back on soon I hope.
Yes it is raining here. I've had my cruciferous vegetables, good vbroccoli and salad and some leftover Baked Ziti Lots and lots of fluids too.
((HUGS)) and best wishes for comfortable times for Scar, Jo.... he is in good hands, and surely has had these wonderful many years with the Family Lennox
Hello there Andrea, very nice, the party for Ken and Chuck.... they surely deserve the accolades, was there some cool music too ??
Hello Hoda, sounds like a rip-roaring good time you have had also....
oh Lolly....I must tell you, I was able to repaint all my fingers and toes today.....theyn turned out a little clumsy, but, oh well, you weren't here and I wasn't THERE for you to take care of this girly detail for me :)
Well I'm calling it a day SED ♥AOYP See ya in the am ☼ at Sycamore Sunrise Cyber Cafe Bless this Nest and all ♀ ♥ ♂ whom watch it at Sycamore Palace Healing thoughts for those in need
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone is fighting some kind of battle."
I am just delighted after watching DA All of the important plots of this season were resolved to my satisfaction. So happy happy Mary burned that train ticket of Mr Bates. The very last scene as Judy said was the icing on the cake.
You are so right, the last scene of DA made me laugh out loud! The whole program was great tonight. And, can hardly wait for the next season!!! There were so many great lines...we laughed several times! Nice to have a program that Jack and I both enjoy.
Time to hit the pillows. Going to be cooler tomorrow, but we have plans to work in the yard.
Godorming my eagle friends. When I opened the live feed, Belle was rolling her eggs and ... I really am not sure if I saw 2 or 3!! It's 5:45am and my eyes aren't focused yet and the cam is fuzzy in the dark so I am not certain about what I saw. By the time I went to full screen, she was settling back down on the eggs and I could only see white but couldn't count how many. Now her head is tucked and she's asleep, so someone else will have to confirm. But be sure to count those eggs the next time Belle gets up and let me know if my eyes were playing tricks on me!
Prayers that Larry had a restful night without too much pain.
Good morning! Jury duty for me this morning. I hope I can make quick business of not getting picked. All along I wanted to sit on a jury, as it has it, today is our 100th day celebration in kindergarten and I'm going to miss all the fun if I get picked. I am so disappointed. So even though I have wanted to do my civic duty all along, now I don't want to :(
Mom and Dad arrived in FL yesterday morning and should have boarded the ship. I wouldn't know though because she never texted me back! Urgh...but I do know they arrived so I guess I will have to be happy with that fact. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for them.
Saying prayers that Larry is doing okay!
I better go get myself ready! Have a great day. I couldn't see much when I opened the cam so I will have to check back for updates on the number of eggs.
speaking of which...gotta get that going in the classroom! :)
Good Monday Morning! Nice to see the sun shining on the nest this morning!!
Belle just repositioned herself, but the eggs were not in view. She's now facing at about 1and her backside is facing us! Maybe next time, we'll check those eggs!
Glad to hear NCSuzan is doing okay and keeping up with the blog!! Stay well and know we're thinking 'bout you!
MARGY - So happy your not in too much pain anymore, but please remember to take it easy and heal that hand/wrist!! It will surely get a full workout soon!
SANDI - Glad you made it home and are back at the grind!! Wonderful news that your Mom may be able to go back home today. Will she have hospice aides and nurses at home with her, or will they check on her once or twice a day? There's no place like home! Hoping her pain remains under control and she can rest comfortably at home.
KAY - Yes, that grandson, SETH, surely warms your heart and lights up your life!! Very special indeed!
JUDYE - Always mixing things up at Wally World on you! You roll through it all very well! All the more reason to look forward to that day when it's time for YOU to retire!! Hang in there!
JO - Poor little Scar! He isn't very old, for sure, but the signs don't look to be too good. Hoping this is just a bug or something and he recouperates soon.
PAULA - Wishing you and LARRY luck as he transitions out of the hospital and home with you for some more healing time. I am confident he is is good hands!! Prayers continue....
DANA - It's so wonderful your parents made it to FL and will have such a wonderful cruise experience. May they have sun, fun, and relaxing times to just enjoy life!!
Cold again here, too!! The warm up was nice while it lasted, but ole man winter is back for a while. Dennis should have tapped the trees last week, but missed his opportunity. It won't be above freezing now for a while, so we'll wait for freezing nights and above freezing days for the tapping to begin!
Tax season is very busy now with so much work to get done. Sometimes it gets a little overwhelming, but I have to remember to take it one day at a time. It always gets done, Lord willing!! The days are just so long and there never seems to be enough hours in any day!!
Will do my best to check in later today!! Make it a Marvelous Monday, everyone!!
I see the sunshine - with the rain last evening I guess if the temps had dropped it could have dusted us with snow. Now if we get through the week with good weather - Spring is a'coming. I put the peanuts out and it really is a cold 28° and the wind is at 11mph so it feels like 19°.\
Mr Scar is still with us - but hiding under the beds and making it difficult to observe him. TY for your kind thoughts and prayers.
I'm going to be very self centered this morning and enter my plea for prayer without reading back to see what's up with all of you.
Penny has no interest in her food and is weak and trembling. We'll be seeing the vet at 10:15. I, of course, am stumped as to what is wrong, but praying it's just a bug and nothing serious. Yesterday wh was not quite as peppy as usual, but she now and then has days like that--me too ! She's 7 years old and perhaps this is the start of old age woes ???? Later in the day I'll let you know what's up, but wanted to be sure you're praying for her and for me. As you know, pets are family members and these things are tough. Thank you, Momsters--I know you're On It !
Oh and for those of you who are experts when it comes to dog and doxie care I meant to add that she did cooperated with going outside for a pee n' poop, but once back inside she just melted onto the rug by the back door and wants to be carried. She's all bundled up in her blanket on the couch as I wait for this hour to creep by so we can get going !
Sunshiny and windy outdoors this morning. I plan to go practice bowling. Got in some practice on Saturday. Dropped 14 points last week, so I need to work on accuracy.
Sincere prayers for Penny and Scar.
Eagle on the nest--I see a "V," so I believe it is Belle.
Prayers, Kay for Penny. I hope it is something very fixable ♥ We recounted Mr Scar's years last evening as he came to us as a feral. He is around 12. Still under the bed..... ♥ We will try to get Vet's advice today.
I have a 1:00 eye appointment with the Retina Spedialist. May need a treatment but hoping I won't. No biggie
Woohoo!! Just checked in from school figuring someone HAD to have seen something by now and I see that Jo saw 3 eggs!!!! So it wasn't my fuzzy morning vision!! Hooray for Belle!!
Kay, hoping the vet can find the source of Penny's problems. Sounds like what Bella does when she has injured her back.
Guess I am going to have to go to the still cam today.
Winter has returned....spring has passed, We had 12 days of above normal temps. 42 this morn and up to 51 now. We are still going to work in the yard today, but dressed warmly.
Need to eat some breakfast and then get on with the yard work. Want to finish it up today and then just let it go until we return. Chance of rain tomorrow. Please pray that it rains on our lakes!!! We are setting our sprinkler system to run once a week. Hopefully that will be enough.
Wow, three eggs !!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it !!! I know Belle and Shep are up to the task. Whoopee !
Home from The Vet Clinic and I've posted a long Penny report on Yahoo mail for those who are interested.
SANDI nailed it, like her Bella, it seems likely that Penny has injured her "lower lumbar" region. She received a nice massage, anti inflammatory injection and we came home with four day dose of oral Rimadyl. Thank you sooo much for the Momster prayers ! They DO help !!!!
JO, about that 1pm appt.---is that Retina Spedilist able to eyeball a speed dialer at 40 paces OR a Retina Specialist ? ☺ You say: "May need a treatment but hoping I won't. No biggie." Well it may be no biggie, but I'm offering up mega-prayers anyway ! If a treatment is needed what does it consist of ?
My prayers for poor Mr. Scar, too ! Hope the vet can do something to perk him up, JO !
SIL, Hugh came over about 6:30 last night, in need of a breathing treatment. He noticed immediate improvement and I sent the nebulizer and med home with him, as I haven't needed it in months. He'a a life long asthmatic--has been on inhalers always and on Advair for the last 10 years or so. However, he's never received a nebulizer treatment at a doctor's office. What ? That was SOP with all my docs for years. I had so much bronchial/asthmatic trouble and several hospitalizations during the Bullhead City, AZ years. A doctor there prescribed the nebulizer and my doctors right up to present have been good about renewing the Albuterol liquid Rx. The thing helped Seth get over a bad case of bronchitis last summer just before start of his first semester. So glad I have the thing and even more glad that I so rarely have asthma here in Ohio !
Thanks, JO, I'm familiar with AMD as my late mother-in-law had it and was legally blind for a number of years. My question was about treatment as I hope there have been medical advances since her time in 1960-1980's. I see at Google that there are now laser treatments and oral meds, too. Hoping you aren't in need of such things, but am glad to know there is now help and hope !
Good morning for it is morning here. Glad PENNY is well KAY. Glad you got her checked. SANDI has good info
JO for Macular degeneration over here they ask us to take zinc. Glad you are getting your exam. Thinking of MR SCAR. Hope he rested well.
Just came in from the hospital where I went for lab work. It is all routine and I do not have any symptoms but they ask me to go every six months to check on my body chemistry. I think it is an age thing. Fasting and three viles of blood later I say thank you and leave without calling them Dracula. For some reason they are always happy to see me and want to know what I am up to. She could not find my veins and got it on the third try. I just kept telling her to breathe and it is all good and told her stories. She was relieved when she found one and was do sweet about the gauze and the tape.
Life is good and I am blessed.
There was another avalanche here yesterday. This time close to the area where I had skied. Higher elevation though from where I was. I will not go out for a few days till they reduce the risk hazard. Conflicting stories here as to what happened and how many involved. No fatalities everyone agrees, two injuries, they were well equipped and prepared. Some Montana people might be involved.
Kay, so glad to hear that nothing serious is wrong with Penny. You may want to start giving her something daily for arthritis. Bella is 9 years old and when she was at the vet the last time, he suggested she start taking Dasaquin with MSM, which Bandit has been taking for years. He said he noticed some stiffness in her back leg joints during his exam.
Jo, I sure hope Scar perks up.
I am excited about 3 eggs but would have been content with just two. Shep is really going to have to step it up with his fish deliveries and parenting duties this year! Good that Belle spent so much time not incubating that first egg, since there are 6 days between egg #1 and egg #3 - they should hatch closer together. She sure knows what she's doing, doesn't she?
Lisa texted that Mom won't be going home til tomorrow. They are in the process of switching her from morphine injections to oral morphine today and want to make sure that her pain stays under control on the oral meds before they discharge her. Makes sense. We arranged for her cleaning guy to come in yesterday after we left with the dogs so her place will be spotless when she gets home.
Denny and I will be working on getting tax stuff together this evening, since we're going to Balto. every weekend.
Hoping for an update from Paula about how Larry is doing today.
RCMP reports that there were four skiers in the party that got caught in the Kootenay Avalanche. All from Nelson. All Canadian. Two un injured and came out on their own power escorted by a few Search and Rescue personnel. Two injured. One twenty seven year old male Nelsonite died at the scene. His body was recovered this morning. The focus last night was on the 27 year old woman to try to make a safe removal. Severe internal injuries and it was deemed too dangerous to try to land a helicopter. She is at the more advanced hospital in the region. So no Americans were involved contrary to the rumour mill.
Kay - my medication is the 'shot in the eye" -Avastin - really used for treating cancer but was a breakthrough for treating AMD. Sounds gross but the shot is not uncomfortable.
Hoda I have such large protruding ugly views that they enjoy seeing me! ♥
Sorry about the update on the avalanche. I guess being burried under snow would be like drowning. Horrible thought Payers for all of them and their families
SANDI, thanks for the heads up on Dasaquin w/MSM--I'll ask the vet about it. So glad the doctor is making sure it's okay for your Mom to go home with the oral morphine. It's great that you and Denny can go down there every weekend and I'll be praying for safe travel throughout !
JUDIE, LOL about the "blog blog"--I see !
JO, what a grand eye report--much better than a shot in the eye ! You'll be so happy to join the rest of us cataract surgery survivors ! I didn't realize how much my eyesight had failed til' I got mine done in 2006.
HODA, please, please stay off those risky "sliding" slopes til' the danger passes !
Just came in from working in the yard. We were out there all day. Not the prettiest of days, but the sun did come out for a wee bit and it was not hot! That is saying something! I can now leave the yard and not worry too much. LOL
Kay, hope the meds work really well for Penny. What is the latest on Scar?
Sandi, thanks for the update on your mom. Continued prayers for her, God bless!
I would like an egg roll too. Cam is presently working and I wanna see three pretty eggs.
Hi, Gang, Fell asleep in my chair after dinner, and didn't make it back here. We've been busy today; got Ken online and applied for Unemployment. Also talked with Kaiser Permanente on the phone. As soon as we get something in the mail stating that Ken has Medicare Part B coverage, we can go online and sign him up for Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage, which is Medicare part C & D. We do seem to be getting somewhere. Oh--our doctor was kind enough to renew all 3 of Ken's prescriptions, just in case it takes longer than usual to get him signed up with the new health insurance.
Whee doggies! A third egg?! WOWEE!!! Congratulations to Belle and Shep!
Been praying for Scar and Penny--not to mention our walking wounded people!
Gotta go now, because Ken wants me for something regarding my Kaiser coverage. I'll try really hard to get back here after dinner tonight! Hope everyone has a grand evening. I ♥ us!!!
Yesterday, I got my computer back and had to re-install everything...it was hacked so badly they couldn't fix it, so the wiped everything out!
I do have some very bad news and just don't know what to say, at this time. My Beloved Gene passed away here at the house this morning. He said he was dizzy and fell to the floor and died in my arms. Funeral arrangements are pending~
Oh my dear friend Wanda I am just now ready to sed out an email to all the momsters and your special friends. Karla had been in touch - The loss I feel is traumatic for you and your loving family ♥
OH WANDA I am so honored that I got to meet your GENE and I am so heartbroken for you and your family Please know I am thinking of you across the miles My deepest heartfelt sympathy to your family
Oh dear, sweet Wanda, I don't even know what to say! What a terrible thing! Dying suddenly is one of those things that we all wish for ourselves - no suffering - but it's so heart-wrenching for the rest of the family. You will all be in my prayers -I am so sorry for your loss.
Oh my dear sweet Wanda!! I just have no words. Captain Gene was such a gracious, loving, and handsome man. I am so, so sorry. God bless you all. We are here if you need anything my precious friend!! Oh my!!
OMG! I do not know what to say! This is just unbelieveable!!! Wanda, I am in tears! Our Capt Father Gene was so loved!! Oh, I do wish I lived closer, to give you a hug and assist in any way possible.
I have come to be with all of you in a time of sudden sad loss of Capt. Gene. I know we are all saddened and in shock. but our emotions are just a very small amt compared to that beautiful woman who held her love in her arms as he suddenly passed from this world. Noting else to say. Just sharing in the loss and tears. They have been a tremendous role model in so very many ways to so very many people. The man has left a legacy for so many others that he will live on in those who loved him for generations.
I was just on FB and saw that Judy had posted a card of sympathy to Wanda and I thought that GG had passed. I went to her wall for updates and simply couldn't believe what I was reading. I cannot believe that Gene is gone.
Wanda, my heart is breaking for you a million times.....love and prayers for you and the family.
I just can not get over this. I do wish we all lived closer together and good be together. A group hug is definitely needed.
Wonderful, wonderful memories of Gene. I will always remember having a "Eagle talon" to drink in the Eagle Express. Also, saw our eagles for the first time with Gene. He took us to the nest and they were soaring high.
We are all shocked and deeply saddened by Capt Father Gene's leaving this life. Darth and I will always remember and chuckle about their first meeting. I will also always remember my first Eagle Talon.
May Wanda experience the peace and acceptance that passeth all understanding.
Your request for being closer at times like this... miles don't mean a thing except physical distance. It is what is in our hearts that brings us together in love for one another. Close your eyes for 2 minutes and you will feel the Hugs.
I CAME FOR THE EAGLES BUT I STAYED FOR THE FRIENDSHIPS I HAVE MADE
Thank you so much Jo for all your communications with all of us.....
Our memories of Captain Father Warden Gene are precious and dear, as are those of Gene AND Wanda... We are blessed to have known him, and may we be encircled around Wanda and all their wonderful family... now, and forever
Carolyn, Christie and I shared some special time together here at my place for a couple of hours.... as we couldn't be with Wanda, but needed to be with each other in her and Gene's honor
Judy. I have it as TampaBay.rr.com on our original cheat sheet but I didnt sent it to the one above It was sent through Eaglet Momsters so it should have reached you. Send me the one you use please
I, too, remember that first eagle talon, Judie. Our first trip to the Sycamore Palace. We were the newbies that trip. Wanda, Gene, and everyone else made us feel so welcome, even as they told us we had to be strip-searched to enter NCTC.
As so many of you have also said, I remain speechless at the loss of Capt GENE!
Dearest WANDA, my heart is heavy and breaking for you!! Such a sudden unexpected loss!! Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you face this monumental loss of your soul mate.
May God Bless you and your family as you mourn the loss of your dear beloved Gene!! I know you know where he is!! Absent from the body and present with The Lord!! You will see him again.
May you be comforted by the love of your family and friends and the life time of memories you have with such a wonderful husband.
Captain is a great suggestion. Might even slip in a Father Capt now and again.
What great memories we all have. I like what Linda said, we all know where Capt Gene is right now..with the Lord. I pray for peace and for comfort for Wanda.
Yep, besides an Eagle Talon, Capt Gene also served a Poop Shoot in the Eagle Express at the Sycamore Palace. Never was told I had to under go a strip search to enter NCTC. Maybe because Jack was with me. ☺
I am going to say good night now. Need some down time to gather my thoughts.
Wow. Because this happened to one of us it feels like it happened to us. And in a way it did. Because everyone cares. Continued support to the family. All their lives changed today.
Thank you for your concern of my health. I am much improved.
Oh my word! Was just checking before bed and had to read everything. Dearest Wanda, I am in shock. My deepest thoughts and prayers to you and family. I can't believe it. Capt. Gene was everyone's friend and the two of you have been one of the best and most helpful, considerate and loving couples of everyone around you. God Bless and give you strength. His love will always be with you. Good night and love to all. I can't see through the tears to write anymore.
Fare Thee Well Dear Precious Captain Father Gene. Fare Thee well Man of God assisting the poor, the homeless and the disadvantaged. Fare Thee well PRECIOUS WANDA'S HUSBAND and father of her children and Grand Father to the Grand Children. Fare Thee Well Sir. You have made this place a better place by your very short time here. What a fantastic testament yours and WANDA'S lives are.
An amazing strong and clear statement WANDA wrote. Your LADY does you proud Sir. As shocking a loss your passing is what an honour you gave the love of your life, you died in her arms. BLESSED BE YOUR JOURNEY. BLESSED BE TILL YOU TWO MEET AGAIN.
WANDA our words can only tell you of our shock and our love and our GRATITUDE for the life you two shared in this world. You are an inspiration and an example. The love of your life is ALWAYS in your heart.
Prayers and Blessings to you and your family. You blessed him with your love and you honour him with who you are. Blessed Be WANDA. What am awesome life you share. Yes share as you will meet again.
Big hugs and tears flow with you over the loss of your dearest Captain Gene. He was so genuine and charming. I loved how he took care of all of us with the Eagle Express when we had nest visits. You two were the best pair and I know he was your best friend. I'll be saying prayers for you and your family.
Reading the blog this morning and tears flowing again. Hoda, your post touched my soul, so eloquently stated. Of course, Captain should be the name of the third eaglet hatched, can't imagine another. Thinking of dear sweet Wanda and her family this morning as they go through the toughest days of their lives. Hugs and much love to all. I will be lurking today as I work.
I want to thank you all for all the prayers and well wishes for Tom. He is pretty miserable but not in as much pain now. He will just be glad to get that stuff out of his nose on Thursday. But all in all, he is doing much better than I expected. God is good, all the time.
My first thoughts on waking were for Wanda and her girls. What a difficult, sad time they have ahead. Sending prayers and positive thoughts to them this morning.
Continued prayers for healing for Larry, and Tom, and Dana's dad and Lori's dad and for Mr. Scar and Penny.
Good Morning Eagle Buds and a sad one it is, indeed.
I envy those of you who met Gene on at the open houses/nest visits. I could tell by the pics and your words just how dear he was to all. I felt I knew him, too, through you and dear Wanda. Their love was an inspiration and I know how he'll be missed. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I was shocked to find the news in e-mail this morning, along with the sad news that a very dear friend of 48 years passed yesterday afternoon at 3. Larry and Marty were my first neighbors here back in 1966 and we've remained close all through the years. Them moved to a retirement village in Loudon, TN about 10 years ago. Larry was diagnosed with dementia several years ago and recently suffered a bad fall. The combination was too much for him.
Couple those reeling losses with the fact that Feb. 25 is the day I lost Mother in 1965 and a dear friend, Lila in 2005 and I'm just a bundle of tears today.
So many separations to endure along this path called Life. God will see us through and my thoughts and prayers are with all.
We all have days that we just don't have the words to share our feelings. That is the beginning of my day - I am sitting here watching the snow fall in my valley but my thoughts are directed over the mountain into WV where I feel the Wright family is taking care of each other with love and special caring. So many prayers and positive thoughts for their hearts to heal with time are being offered up. Blessed Be to all of them
I placed a call to NCTC for a new thread if at all possible - Steve won't be in the office until Thurs so I left a message for his contact person.
My Mr Scar is out from under the bed and sitting at the back door looking out at all the squirrels and birds. He has not eaten and his breathing is still very shallow. He isn't out of the woods yet - and perhaps he won't - but he rubbed up against me and made me very happy and grateful.
Karla is in touch with me and said later this afternoon she will know the arrangements and let us know. I am here all day and will send out the email again and also place information here on the blog.
Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. ♥
Oh my, JO, Mr. Scar sensed your special needs today and has come through for you. I hope this is the start of a new and healthy chapter for him !
Penny is her old self today ! SANDI and the vet hit the nail on the head. Now I know what to watch for and will get her to the clinic ASAP if I see such symptoms. Thanks for all of you who brought me through her crises !
If tear ducts need a good cleaning every now and then, mine will be in good shape. Reading all your CAPTAIN GENE tributes and expressions of love for our dear WANDA, has had me sobbing.
Julie called and thank goodness she doesn't teach on Tuesdays. She's on her way over with a pot of navy beans and a big hug !
Thanks, as always, JO, for tending to your flock of Momster's so beautifully. I'll watch for your messages re:services and what our group tribute will be. Getting a card off to WANDA in the next mail pick up. Thanks for the address ! Yes, in time our tears of sorrow turn into smiles as we recall good times shared. God is Good !
Lifting the CAPTAIN AND HIS FIRST MATE IN PRAYER. Yes they are a strong family. Thank you JO for keeping us posted. Like so many said on waking I so wished it was just a bad dream. So I dedicate a day of prayers.
We absolutely have to get up that way this spring, April or May. I need to see my eagle buds so bad. I love us. I wish there was a way we could work it out to come for the services but with Tom just having this surgery, that is just not practical. Can't make it happen.
I did get a call back from NCTC and no instructions were given concerning a new page for our blog. We will survive. However keep an eye out as Dawn is emailing Steve and asked me to send one also. I included a pic to him of our 3 eggs.
From Karla this morning: I am with Mother now. She is reminiscent and realizing that he is gone. Good moments and sad. An emotional roller coaster for sure. Mother is glad to have your support and will let you know of arrangements later today. She took something last night and she slept well. We got her a bacon egg cheese biscuit that she just finished. Blessed be the children of Gene and Wanda ♥
It would be reasonable to consider MAY a time for gathering and we will get in to NCTC property - I know Steve could make this happen for us and if not that curve in the road and then the hotel will have to suffice.
Not working well with Scar - he did go down steps to litter box even though the litter box was here with him. I really think he wants outside to go hide under his bush - not going to happen. Come on Saint Francis and give this pet of mine another one of his 9 lives. ♥
God bless Wanda and the family. Such hard day ahead. I cannot imagine. Losing Tom is my greatest fear in my life. Cannot imagine her pain. I know her family will lift her up and they will love each other through the days to come. Just thinking about the curve in the road makes me cry. Heavy, heavy heart.
MCD free Wi fi when I walk in it automatically connects me and just now it disconnects me and wants me to push the connect button and in the middle of typing

Hi, Gang,
Sorry I've been MIA again.

Well, I can hardly wait for season 5. All I can say for Mrs. Hughes and Mr. Carson is "go for it!" Would love to see the undoing of what's his name.
I see someone is tending the eggs. Not tucked in though.
Andy, glad a good time was had at Ken's party. May you both enjoy his retirement.
JO, hope Mr. Scar is feeling better.
Hoda, glad you had a good day skiing. Yes, forgiveness is not always an easy achievement.
Hope Larry is feeling comfortable tonight.
Margy, if anyone has to see your fingers and toes, just tell them a sandperson visited and got crazed. You go girl!
Speaking of sandperson,I hear last-minute packing of a satchel so get ready for sleep. Yep, out the door he goes. Night light is on. Restful sleep.
I am just delighted after watching DA
All of the important plots of this season were resolved to my satisfaction. So happy happy Mary burned that train ticket of Mr Bates.
The very last scene as Judy said was the icing on the cake.
I am ready to call it a day
Thanks for concerns about Mr Scar -He did migrate from the one bedroom to another - but still under the bed.
Jenny takes her Stormy into the vet tomorrow to get 'fixed' I'm sure she will mention Scar's condition to the Vet.
Maybe one more egg sometime tomorrow and maybe one more hatching for BWE
Goodnight to all
Love and prayers to all of us and our loved ones ♥
SED love and hugs for all :-)
You are so right, the last scene of DA made me laugh out loud! The whole program was great tonight. And, can hardly wait for the next season!!! There were so many great lines...we laughed several times! Nice to have a program that Jack and I both enjoy.
Time to hit the pillows. Going to be cooler tomorrow, but we have plans to work in the yard.
Night all! SED!!
Good night all

Have a great day all.
Good morning eagle buds Suns is shinning on the nest looks so pretty
temp at nest is 32°
my temp is 68°
Good Monday Morning!
Good Monday morning to all ♥
I see the sunshine - with the rain last evening I guess if the temps had dropped it could have dusted us with snow.
Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!
LINDA, I'm so grateful for your post of this morning ! I feel like you caught me up on all the important stuff in the lives of our dear friends !
Momster's, I can only say ditto to her thoughts and prayers !
BBL to let you know what's up with my little Penny.
Good morning.
Jo, hope Mr. Scar will come around and that Kay's Penny will also. Yes, pets are family.
Looks like Belle is still facing 1. Can only see a bit of tail feathers. Would be nice if Sandi did see three eggs but happy there are two.
Dana, hope you were able to postpone jury duty.
Linda, check in when you can. The door is always open.
Okay, off for more coffee and to continue sorting and cleaning out my office.
BBL
Good morning,
Sunshiny and windy outdoors this morning. I plan to go practice bowling. Got in some practice on Saturday. Dropped 14 points last week, so I need to work on accuracy.
Sincere prayers for Penny and Scar.
Eagle on the nest--I see a "V," so I believe it is Belle.
Several downy eagle feathers blowing in the breeze at the nest. The morning sun has revealed them.
I think we just had an egg roll but I was NOT watching. I don't see any other remarks from those watching our Royal couple about an egg count..
I did this morning see a feeding of the little bobble head down at BWE. They are still watching for the 2nd hatching.
Prayers, Kay for Penny. I hope it is something very fixable ♥ We recounted Mr Scar's years last evening as he came to us as a feral. He is around 12. Still under the bed..... ♥
We will try to get Vet's advice today.
I have a 1:00 eye appointment with the Retina Spedialist. May need a treatment but hoping I won't. No biggie
There are 3 eggs
I got so excited that I missed the pic...dern
Just checked back to look for eggs, Jo. Glad you spotted them!
Back to work.
Yea! Glad you spotted three eggs. Wonder when it was laid. Can not keep the cam going this morn.
Oh....Good morning!
Prayers for Scar and Penny. Glad Penny is getting to the vet and hope Scar will, too, soon.
Egg roll but was not allowed the privilege of seeing the eggs.
Guess I am going to have to go to the still cam today.
Winter has returned....spring has passed, We had 12 days of above normal temps. 42 this morn and up to 51 now. We are still going to work in the yard today, but dressed warmly.
I did email Steve and hoped he could post the pic with a new thread.
No one else seemed to see them
WOW! Thought I was hallucinating but see Jo also has seen three eggberts. A third congratulations to Belle and Shep.
BBL
Shirley, have a good practice. Nice day to get out for a few.
Had a phone call Must have been an egg roll as I spoke....... Dern
Thanks Judie - you had my back ♥
Stevde is on travel Mon thru Wed :(
Gave me another contact
This is really eggciting to have 3 and hopefully all the really bad weather behind our eagles.
I have go to learn, if you just let the whirly twirly thing go for a long while the cam will eventually stay.
Thanks, Judie. Need to get moving here.
Need to eat some breakfast and then get on with the yard work. Want to finish it up today and then just let it go until we return. Chance of rain tomorrow. Please pray that it rains on our lakes!!! We are setting our sprinkler system to run once a week. Hopefully that will be enough.
Really windy at the nest. Hate it when I see the tree swaying! However, I do love the sunshine!
Kay AMD Age macular Degeneration
Google it
Out the door I go BBL
Thanks, JO, I'm familiar with AMD as my late mother-in-law had it and was legally blind for a number of years. My question was about treatment as I hope there have been medical advances since her time in 1960-1980's. I see at Google that there are now laser treatments and oral meds, too. Hoping you aren't in need of such things, but am glad to know there is now help and hope !
Time for lunch---too nervous to eat much earlier, so I'm starving ! BBL
Shep in. Beautiful sunny day there. Still a bit windy.
All is good at the nest.
HELLO on lunch gotta go get caught up watching the NE eaglet wingersize scary gonna go out the nest
Hi all!
I'll try to check in this evening - TTFN!
Kay, I think Jo means she is seeing a specialist who can test how fast her retinas process blog blog posts.
Jo, hope the eye exam goes well.
Shep on duty and basking in sunshine. Egg roll but did not share.
BBL
Back from Eye Dr -things looked good to him - return visit 3 months down the road..
Still dilated so won't on on too long.
II AM SO EGGCITED WHEN IT READ JO COMMENT 3 OH I HOPE THEY GET ALONG WILL BE A interesting season
JO how did he get his name just CURIOUS Mr Scar did he have boo boo LOL KAY so habby you found out what was wrong with Penny
Kay - my medication is the 'shot in the eye" -Avastin - really used for treating cancer but was a breakthrough for treating AMD. Sounds gross but the shot is not uncomfortable.
When Scar came to us on the deck in the month of feb he had a horrible scar on the vack of his neck.
Therefore SCAR
Eyes- this visit also gave me the go ahead for cataract surgery - JOY if it isn't one thing it 2 or more.
I saw my AM and told her about my hours
Hoda I have such large protruding ugly views that they enjoy seeing me! ♥
Sorry about the update on the avalanche. I guess being burried under snow would be like drowning.
Horrible thought Payers for all of them and their families
thanks JO I assumed that and hope he feels better soon
Ooop! Double blog - one for each retina.
Good news for Penny.
Sandi, hope you can get taxes done/up-to-date.
BBL
Sandi thanks for the "mom" Update
I so wish her comfort cause I know she has lots of love ♥
Come on Belle Let's do anegg roll
Yes, Belle, how about an egg roll ? I still have yet to lay my eyes on three of the beauties.
I do think Shep will rise to the occasion when it's time to bring a lot of food home.
chick two is at BW according to FB
Belle seems to be putting out a come hither call. She may think it's time for him to bring home the bacon right now !
Wahoo for BW !!!!
I can't kept the cam up long enough with out that darn spiny twirly aggravating circle
stop and start stalling PIA
JO, love the HAPPY NESTOR's pics you sent via our Yahoo mail ! What a gorgeous row of eggs we have !
I'm having to reload frequently, too, JUDYE and yes, it's a PIA !
Well, I must head for the pantry, and move forward with evening routine.
Have a good night all and thanks for today's reminder that you are all so very dear to me !
Love and prayers for all !!!
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Hi all! Thanks Jo for the photo of those beautiful 3 eggs!!
Judy, I'm having the same problem with the live cam this afternoon.
Have made dog food, now to make people food, and then get started compiling tax stuff for the accountant.
Probably won't get back on the blog this evening so I'll say my goodnight now - see y'all in the early AM!
Sometimes I just leave the whirly twirly thingy go on for 10 or 15 minutes and then it just starts up and stays up.
Jack took our car in and we are getting four new tires. Going to travel safely!!☺
shh must be because of getting dark now but my cam has been running 30min now
I see the temp at the nest is 35°
brr and windy so the wind chill will be colder says 26°
I am 71° love the FL winter now at present time LOL
Belle keeps looking back and forth and and forth has to be pretty boring if you think about it LOL
EGG ROLL
Hi, Gang,
Fell asleep in my chair after dinner, and didn't make it back here.
I ♥ us!!!
Woweeeee! Just saw and egg roll and those three wonderful, awesome eggs!!!!
couldn't get a pic on the still didn't show on it and to late to do live feed when I saw them and they sure are pretty
she is up again
turned around
love that wiggle wiggle down she goes
Yesterday, I got my computer back and had to re-install everything...it was hacked so badly they couldn't fix it, so the wiped everything out!
I do have some very bad news and just don't know what to say, at this time.
My Beloved Gene passed away here at the house this morning. He said he was dizzy and fell to the floor and died in my arms. Funeral arrangements are pending~
Oh, Wanda, my sincerest condolences. You and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers. ((((HUGS))))
OH WANDA I am so sorry HUGS
(((((((HUGS)))))))
sure wish I lived up there I would run over
Oh my dear friend Wanda
I am just now ready to sed out an email to all the momsters and your special friends. Karla had been in touch -
The loss I feel is traumatic for you and your loving family ♥
OH WANDA I am so honored that I got to meet your GENE and I am so heartbroken for you and your family Please know I am thinking of you across the miles
My deepest heartfelt sympathy to your family
Oh Wanda. I don't even know what to say. I love you so much and my heart is breaking for you!!!!
Wanda - So sorry to hear about your loss. My family's prayers go out to you. I am also at a loss for words. You know you have support here.
I had to read Wanda's post about 5 times before it would sink in what she was saying. How in the world could this be? :(
I really wish we lived closer. (((((GROUP HUG)))))
Love my eagle buds.
Oh Wanda, my heart goes out to you. God bless. I know your family will be gathering around you at home as your blog family is gathering here.
Oh my goodness Wanda. My sincere condolences. (((Hugs)))
I am so shocked....I am speechless and in tears.
Hugs, Lynne! I am just sobbing,
Hope you all received the email and will get those cards in the mail if you can.
Love to all
Nest Update 02/24/14:

oh my gosh......how can this BE?
I wish we were all closer, too.
in momsters email I just read on FB
We are all shocked and deeply saddened by Capt Father Gene's leaving this life. Darth and I will always remember and chuckle about their first meeting. I will also always remember my first Eagle Talon.
May Wanda experience the peace and acceptance that passeth all understanding.
Look again Judy - the email has more detail
FB had remarks and so did the blog
before it was sent - it was written but then we had to edit the info
I assume your email is correct on the Eaglet Momsters site.
Let me know if you have a new one♥
Your request for being closer
at times like this... miles don't mean a thing except physical distance.
It is what is in our hearts that brings us together in love for one another. Close your eyes for 2 minutes and you will feel the Hugs.
I CAME FOR THE EAGLES
BUT I STAYED
FOR THE
FRIENDSHIPS
I HAVE MADE
LOVE AND PEACE TO ALL

I appreciate that.
That is great Margy
Blessed be our Lynn Gals ♥
Dearest Wanda,
Light, love, comfort and blessings to you our dear sweet friend. My deepest condolences.... Blessing to you and yours...
Judy. I have it as TampaBay.rr.com
on our original cheat sheet but
I didnt sent it to the one above
It was sent through Eaglet Momsters so it should have reached you.
Send me the one you use please
I, too, remember that first eagle talon, Judie. Our first trip to the Sycamore Palace. We were the newbies that trip. Wanda, Gene, and everyone else made us feel so welcome, even as they told us we had to be strip-searched to enter NCTC.
the one you mentioned is my normal (personal) email I get the blog and my facebook stuff in.
The Yahoo one for momster email I got in order to become a momster it wouldn't let me use my roadrunner acct I guess competition
BUT I DID GET it when I went to the momster email site
As so many of you have also said, I remain speechless at the loss of Capt GENE!
Dearest WANDA, my heart is heavy and breaking for you!! Such a sudden unexpected loss!! Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you face this monumental loss of your soul mate.
May God Bless you and your family as you mourn the loss of your dear beloved Gene!! I know you know where he is!! Absent from the body and present with The Lord!! You will see him again.
May you be comforted by the love of your family and friends and the life time of memories you have with such a wonderful husband.
Sending love and hugs to you.....
The Eagle Talon tailgate party
in the hotel parking lot
Later years was the Poop Shoot
I am so shocked as well...
Mourning the loss of Capt Gene along with my blog family ...
I must close down the computer - need quiet time. Thanks to all of you for the love and concern you have shown
I bet I won't get any disagreement for the 3rd egg to hatch being called
Captain
Love to all - Hope Hoda gets in soon
Wanda and Karla going to funeral home tomorrow morning. Arrangements will be known soon.
Goodnight ♥ Peace, light and love ♥
Thanks to Judie for the name suggestion ☻
YES I second the name of Captain or Gene
"Captain"--great suggestion!
Saying goodnight on this very sad day.
SED my friends. May we all dream of happy times with our eagle family.
Carolyn-Jewels spoke while here,
of the thoughts of a name for one of our eggberts...I am sure she will share that along with Judie's idea...
I am sad beyond sorrowful,
Gene was the Best of the Best...
and truly, matched perfectly with
his First Mate
Prayers continue for all, for Wellness, and Comfort
God Bless Us,
Every One xo
Captain is a great suggestion. Might even slip in a Father Capt now and again.
What great memories we all have. I like what Linda said, we all know where Capt Gene is right now..with the Lord. I pray for peace and for comfort for Wanda.
Yep, besides an Eagle Talon, Capt Gene also served a Poop Shoot in the Eagle Express at the Sycamore Palace. Never was told I had to under go a strip search to enter NCTC. Maybe because Jack was with me. ☺
I am going to say good night now. Need some down time to gather my thoughts.
Love and hugs to each of you. Love you! SED!!!
Love and Light to you MRS GENE WRIGHT.
WANDA,
Big hugs and tears flow with you over the loss of your dearest Captain Gene. He was so genuine and charming. I loved how he took care of all of us with the Eagle Express when we had nest visits. You two were the best pair and I know he was your best friend. I'll be saying prayers for you and your family.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I would say that Captain is a GREAT name for an eaglet, JO. Great idea!
Can't really focus on anything else but the Wright Family.
Love ♥ you all!
Good morning Lori, Bev, and all my eagle friends.
Good morning,
Looking at the back half of one of our eagles this morning.
Not seeing snowflakes yet.
Good Morning Eagle Buds sure wish we could say its a bad dream
WANDA and family you will be in my thought through out the day as all on the blog I am sure
My cam has been running all night long and of course that is because it was night I am sure so far no spiny twirly swirly roundy circling arrow
So sad in my soul this morning. Can't stop thinking about Wanda and the girls. Our nest visits will never ever be the same. :(
Good Morning Eagle Buds and a sad one it is, indeed.
Now to read back over the last 18 hours or so....
(( HUGS )) across the miles,
Precious Pals...
Kay,
holding you close in thoughts and prayers on this extra sad day for you with your memories of loss of your loved ones
It is lovely to read of the tributes amongst us, to Gene and Wanda and their families....
Hoda...eloquent, you have captured the essence of this Gentle Giant Gene in his days amongst us all... whether near or far away
God Bless Us,
Every One xoxox
We all have days that we just don't have the words to share our feelings.
That is the beginning of my day - I am sitting here watching the snow fall
in my valley but my thoughts are directed over the mountain into WV
where I feel the Wright family is
taking care of each other with love and special caring.
Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.
Good morning! Watching an eagle chow down and three eggs in view!
Need to read back!
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. ~From a headstone in Ireland
While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil. ~John Taylor
Just wanted to share.
Yes, this is all a nightmare. Thinking of Wanda and family today and keeping them in prayers, Hoda, really loved your comment. It was very comforting.
Jack and I hugged a little more firmly yesterday as well as a little more often. You never know when something like this may happen.
Eagle still chowing down. Can not see what it is. Eggs still in view.
Beautiful, Suzan and so happy you are better.
Jo, so very happy for you that Scar is out from under the bed. Certainly hope you can entice him to eat a little.
Lifting the CAPTAIN AND HIS FIRST MATE IN PRAYER.
Yes they are a strong family.
Thank you JO for keeping us posted.
Like so many said on waking I so wished it was just a bad dream.
So I dedicate a day of prayers.
Snowing here. Keep thinking about snowflakes being frozen rain but maybe today they are frozen tears.
Nothing to add except to express my profound appreciation for Jo stepping in to manage information control.
Headed out later to visit Dracula and pick up a card.
Oh, yes. I had forgotten the strip search. Perhaps the effects of the Eagle Talon. So many cherished memories.
From Karla this morning:
I am with Mother now.
It would be reasonable to consider MAY a time for gathering and we will
get in to NCTC property - I know Steve could make this happen for us
and if not that curve in the road and then the hotel will have to suffice.
Promise ♥
Not working well with Scar - he did go down steps to litter box even though the litter box was here with him. I really think he wants outside to go hide under his bush - not going to happen. Come on Saint Francis and give this pet of mine another one of his 9 lives. ♥
God bless Wanda and the family. Such hard day ahead. I cannot imagine. Losing Tom is my greatest fear in my life. Cannot imagine her pain. I know her family will lift her up and they will love each other through the days to come. Just thinking about the curve in the road makes me cry. Heavy, heavy heart.
Bless Scar's little heart.
Any weekend in May except the 16th, 17th, and 18th. Have unmovable plans that weekend. I will make it work any other weekend.
The weekend of May 11 is a very important weekend for our family. ANDREW WILL BE GRADUATING FROM WEST VIRGINIA STATE UNIVERSITY. :)
Dates are noted Sharon
Congratulations, Sharon, for raising such a great young man!!!
In Memory of CAPTAIN GENE and with much love for WANDA, GG, "The Girls", Grands and Great Grands
~~~His Journeys Just Begun~~~
Don't think of him as gone away - his journey's just begun, life holds so many facets - this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting from the sorrow and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years.
Think how he must be wishing that we could know today, how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched - for nothing loved is ever lost - and he was loved so much.
By -E. Brenneman
Sharon as I read I think you are saying that you are not available on May 11th or May 16th weekend..
