Judy - you got my attention!
I have read up and checked out FB
I now need to get on some garb and get to my 'do' - I'd like some highlights but mine would be Silver.

Our eaglets are now learning to take naps standing upright! Oh my, it isn't going to be long! :( I have really enjoyed this eagle season!

lol Glo - at least you have the bark from the Sycamore Palace - that is a lot compared to what others may have! Hoda wanted the Sycamore balls but they
only fall off in the Fall. And Jo, poor Jo never did get a turtle shell after all these years! :(

glo said...

MeMa Jo You need to be praying for the wind to blow in your direction when there is a loose turtle shell, but not til our "little" ones are safely fledged now.

♫ Toot, toot! Hey, Beep beep! ♫ LOVED Donna Summer's songs! So sad that she's gone!

My Thursday workday is almost over - woohoo!!!

Standards of learning is just what I was thinking. Our test is DCAS, and boy am I sick of proctoring it!!

SO HAPPY to see Thelma out of hiding and back on the blog!!

Will check in from home. Forgot to post yesterday that my mom has had 2 people - a young single girl and a young couple - come through her house for a second look! Mom sounded happier on the phone than she has - I think she's really worried about the prospect of owning 2 places, one with a mortgage, so she'll be so relieved once she has a buyer for her place! She has had about 15 showings and the house has only been on the market since 5/1 so it must be priced right. Eight days til move day!

Lolly said...

Okay, can you see smoke rising in the west??? That is Lolly, so furious I am STEAMING and SMOKING!!!

We finally heard from their insurance adjuster. Claim denied, she was not on the insurance. That is against the law!!!! Our insurance will pay, we will have a $250.00 deductible to pay. Then our insurance company goes after them in court. I am just so mad I could scream!!!! I have a lot of questions, Jack is not home. Should be here soon. I talked with Joey, SIL is our insurance agent. Jack will call the company when he gets home. Grrrrrrrrrr!

Lolly said...

Yea, Sandi, do hope the house sells quickly. That is always such a worry.

WV sUSAn said...

Oh my gosh, Lolly, you have my attention. What a bunch of crapola!!! Is she a minor?? What a mess and YES I saw the smoke from here!!

Lolly said...

Yes, the girl that hit me is 17. Goes to the alternative hs. Do not know why...pg, trouble with the law, discipline problem????

The teacher I know who teaches there said she has a frivolous attitude when in trouble. He said "When she was in court that was her attitude." I did not ask why she had been in court. But, she was happy go lucky in the ambulance and in the trauma unit, until they moved her. Nurse later apologized and said she was giggling.

Jack has now talked with our insurance agent. Our adjuster can not see the car until next Wed. Also, our insurance does not cover a rent car. We are going to try to get along with one car. They now have the parents name and phone number. They are going after them!!!!

Lolly said...

She was carrying an insurance card. It is on the accident report. So, did they know she was not covered? Or, did the sleazy insurance company find a loop hole and are attempting to get out. MTBR

WV sUSAn said...

Lolly, the only thing TO do is go after parents. What a fiasco!! Sorry you are having to go thru such a mess.

Lolly said...

Thank you, Susan. I am just so angry! However, dealing with our insurance is so pleasant. Jack called them and they are on it. I have already received a call about my medical expences. A call back! Wow...it took 6 days to hear from her insurance. Jack looked them up on the computer. They do not have a good reputation.

Lori O. said...

Sorry LOLLY for the insurance mess. What a pain. You do the right thing but get all the stress for the person who doesn't. Not fair. But the insurance company should get her - your insurance company, then she'll get her license yanked!!!

THELMA - so happy you are feeling better. Let's try to keep it that way. Love You! ((Big Hugs)).

Long day and non nap for me, so I'll be hitting the hay extra early tonight. Really wanted to watch American Idol.
LOLLY, do some commentary on it for me! :)

GLO, glad we have those backup rules so that you got the feather. Maybe Judy will forget to claim it tomorrow if she's first and I'll be #2, right there to grab it! No feather in this cap, yet.

PAULA, are you going to the beach this weekend with anyone special? Sorry I couldn't help but ask...oh, does Nick like him? :)

Still smiling over NX being released! YAY!

Missing KAY and hope she's having a great and pain free day. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Just got this text from Lori:

My sisters' condition has worsened as the does goes on. They are having trouble stabilizing her fluids and that causes a whole new set of problems. She does seem to know when I am in the room with her. She seems to respond to my voice. I keep praying for her comfort. Our visits are very limited. Her care is very demanding for the staff but they are the kindest nurses i have ever met. I want to thank all of your for your calls, texts, love and prayers. We do feel your love. Please continue to pray for Kristin. This disease (addiction) can be so cruel. Some things are worse than death.

Sandi said...

Back from the vet - both dogs were way overdue for nail trims. They both hate it so much that we always put it off as long as we possibly can. As of today, Bandit is charged extra for his nail trims b/c he tried to bite the vet techs and had to be muzzled. Happy days!

Lolly, so sorry about the uninsured teenaged driver - what a PIA!!

Sharon, the prognosis doesn't sound good for Lori's sister; prayers continue for her.

One of the peaglets (Missy??) is standing at the launch pad at attention, with both of her wings outstretched. She's a beauty!! Hope she doesn't catch a breeze!!

Oh yes, Nick likes him and his doggie too ♥ She is a small labradoodle...her name is Pepper.

Lolly, sue sue sue...and yes, get some pain and suffering while they are suing!!

If you get a rental car, then you can sue for that too.??

What? Donna Summer is gone? Sandi, glad your Mom has had a lot of showing, someone is bound to buy it.

Sharon, so sorry about Kristen.

OH! Nest construction has begun on a new BB nest this morning! No idea if same pair or different pair, but this time they are using the box out front!

OH...one more thing...

I may have mentioned in the past about the big DUMP that we have here...Paula has seen it. WELL...seems that someone has made a complaint, and my former Landlord has 30 days to REMOVE EVERYTHING!!! OMG...I don't know how he's going to do it! I'm upset because I fear the gray fox has a den back there under one of the old trucks, and I know there are opossums and raccoons and skunks and chipmunks and the probably ALL have nests and babies this time of year. Not to mention all of the birds nesting in the debris....WORST possible time for this to happen :(

It's ugly back there...but it certainly provides a lot of habitat. GRRRRRRRR

stronghunter said...

Vets getting bitten--Never had a dog to bite a vet that I know of, but we had a ferocious hamster. She bit every member of the family, the lady at the pet store, AND the vet.

We named her Natasha and we loved her, believe it or not.

stronghunter said...

Sad development, Lynne. I'm confused. This is your former landlord? No longer your landlord?

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn, sorry about the critters, but the dump does need to be cleaned up!

stronghunter said...

Time for me to wind things down and go upstairs. I will see you tomorrow. Good night. Rest well, everyone.

Lynne2 said...

I'm still here! LOL! Playing WWF instead of getting to bed!

Shirley, I used to live next door. The dumping grounds belong to that, my former landlord, Ken. His daughter is married to my current landlord. It's a family affair.

There are at least 10 old school buses, trucks, cars and motorcycles back there, leaking God knows what in to the ground over the years. That's another problem for him...illegal to have un-tagged vehicles. There are about 6 old riding mowers, about 6 or 7 old oil tanks. Old air conditioners, tires, and tons and tons of old building parts, scrap metal, exercise equipment, furniture....it's about, oh, maybe an acre altogether. Much of it gets pushed with the dozer over the hill, and a guy that does landscaping brings HIS debris here, and they push THAT over the hill to cover the junk! The problem started when he got a complaint about dirt and mud all over the road at the bottom of the hill...someone complained about that, and the county guy came out to investigate. Guess it was the same people who complained.

It really is a bad time of year, but on the bright side, the ugly mess will be gone, and hopefully natural habitat will soon take over! I'll have to take some pictures.

At least the Former LL has equipment like a dump truck and a backhoe to clean up the mess...although I can't see it getting done in 30 days. It's been here for YEARS and YEARS based on the models of some of the cars! Many people bring pickup trucks and trailer full of stuff to dump back there.

Mema Jo said...

Lynne - from what I am hearing you say - you may have a lot of 4 legged critters to feed on your back porch!
You will have your own wildlife preserve!

Lolly said...

Hopefully the critters will move on to new territory. If the fox has babes, she can carry them to a new home.

Mema Jo said...

Margy I am sure the blonde highlights look great! I bet you feel specially uplifted! I asked for silver highlights
today and they said highlights don't come in silver!

Lynne2 said...

LOL Jo! Oh how I wish I could be here to monitor the clean up every day and help any in need. I am sure there are salamander, frogs, toads and snakes living back there as well as the cute and fuzzies. He's a big snake hater and will kill them. He isn't much on nature, period. I would gladly offer safe harbor for all!

Lynne2 said...

True Lolly, and it's actually LATE in baby season. I hope as the work progresses, many creatures will see the danger coming and get out!

Lolly said...

One time at the end of May we were having a yard party. As our guests were arriving they saw a fox, cutting across our far front. She was carrying a babe. She went to the back yard of the vacant house next door. There was a storage building in the back and she carried her young under that building. We watched her make several trips. It was light, about 6 in the evening.

Lynne2 said...

Awww!! I would love to see little fox babe!

Ken also asked Steve to let him know if he has any free time because he has work for him. Maybe he'll be involved in the cleanup and can save a snake or 2.

Hello Eaglet Momsters and Dadsters! Sis an I went to Mom's today. Went thru some stuff. CLeaned out a dresser. FInished the ins paperwork and did the probate papers. I hope we completed that. WE got side tracked many times. A neighbor is interested in the house, but they are really looking for cheap! Houses in the develpment are selling anywhere between 29 - 80 grand. Ugh! For probate we said its worth 200 grand, that way if its auctioned and it brings higher than we think, we do not pay any taxes on the overage. As Christie and I said our byes and we were getting into our vehicles, we heard a owl hoot. We both said that was Mom!! Awwwww felt her warmth at that very moment!!

Prayer for Kristen. So scarey it is for the family. I am sure she is not feeling the pain she is in, but I just cannot imagine!!!

Margy and Jo, both of you have new Do's?? I hope to get mine by the end of the month!!!

Hey, Jewels...me too! How much are you getting cut off? I'm getting about 5 inches and a perm. I'm getting too old for long hair:)

Capt. Gene and I got the tomatoes and peppers planted today. One tomato plant has Jo's name on it:) Peppers are green, yellow and red. Won't they be GOOD, HODA?
Still have squash to plant, then we will be done! Seeds that we planted last week popped right up with the nice rain we had. Mesculin lettuce, chard, spinach, red onions, jade beans, cucumbers and in the corner of the garden is 6 MILKWEED plants from the seeds I got at NCTC (about 3 1/2ft. tall) Haven't seen any monarchs yet:( They are probably all at MEAGAN'S SIPPING FROM HER BUTTERFLY BUSH:)

I'm going back over today's comments, but just in case I do a KEYBOARD FACEPLANT, I will say good night now.

Hi, Everyone,

Gosh, it's getting really late!
I haven't caught up here completely, but I really need to get to bed. Have been going to Sis- and Bro-in-law's house to feed and take care of the bulldogs, morning and night. Getting sleep deprived, since I usually go back to sleep in the morning after Ken goes to work. Haven't done that for the last 2 days. I'm sure I will be taking a panda nap tomorrow afternoon!

Made some progress on the doctor reports. Must stay on task!

Sharon, mega prayers ongoing for Lori, Kristen, Joe, Haley, and the whole family. Such a sad situation!
It's hard to wrap your head around it.... Glad to hear that Thelma is better! God bless T-Bird!

Jo, prayers continue for Melissa Jo.

Lolly, prayers for your insurance situation with the 17-year-old girl. Hope things work out OK.

Special prayers and heartfelt thoughts for Carolyn and Christie and family. I know how difficult it is to try to take care of paperwork, and clean out a house, and my heart is with you. I love both of you so much! (((HUGS)))!!!

Margy and Jo, hoping to see pictures of your new dos before too long.

Judie, glad to hear that Gracie is doing so well she can lose the Elizabethan collar! Good news!

Well, I'm doing face plants here.

LOLLY, thanks for the American Idol update. I really appreciate it!

All caught up but no time to blog or even punctuate properly! Have a great morning all! Off to get ready for RED Friday!

Sandi said...

Good Friday morning Lori!

Jewels, I cried when I read your post about cleaning out a dresser at your mom's. As I've been going through all my mom's stuff to get her to throw away things she doesn't need/use/wear anymore, there have been times that I've gotten so impatient with her. Your post reminded me that at least I'm spending time WITH my mom doing the cleaning out - I'm not cleaning stuff out b/c she's gone. I take back every single impatient thought I've had lately. My heart hurts for you and Christie; I hope you find things that make you smile as you struggle with this painful chore.

Praying for no pain for Kristen, healing for Melissa Jo, and a good day for Kay today. Secretary said she would call Josh's mom today so I should have an update.

Kids should be super cranked today - 8th grade dance tonight. Lots of girls will be leaving this afternoon to get their hair and nails done. It's a fun evening - I love seeing them all dressed up!

HAGD all!

Friday my friends and GOOD MORNING!

MAGPIE; SOL = Standards of Learning. in TN we have TCAP= Tennessee Comprehensive Academic P???? can't remember the last bit, but you get the idea.

SANDI: i appreciate the fact that this school encourages these kids to be more than they think they can be. most of these kids are "innercity" financially disadvantaged kids or who, like livvy came from a "school at risk". livvy had a visual problem that put her behind, and this school has brought her up to par! :)

LINDA: so glad to be able to add to your vernacular! lol. although i don't participate in it really often, sometimes retail therapy is just what a gal needs to lift her spirits! :D

Ice skating went well last night. Livvy fell very little, although they all looked rather like foals on new legs, lol. Poor Jack did a face plant on the ice and had a bloody nose/ from both nostrils! the poor kid has such a sensitive stomach, when potty training, when he saw his own bm he would puke...even when he was still in diapers....so i was concerned, but he did okay. ice blades cut his finger too. but he got back out there. mia (amelia) had a more difficult time, but adjusted and had fun. and olivia, wow, she amazes me with the fact that she takes to this so well and she is finally DOING something!!! (fingers crossed!!!)

i was so tired after my retreat last night. day two is today so i will be cutting this short. it is at Montgomery Bell State Park and being out in the heat all day is tough when you don't do that on a normal basis!

have a beautiful day. sending light and love to all , but especially those in need. may you walk in light and beauty today!

Good morning!

Good news from Chrissy. EJ has a chick. Was lucky to look just as she was feeding it. Osprey season is upon us.

Our two just lazing in the sun.

Hi Thelma. So glad you feel some better.

Lolly, what a truly unfortunate situation. Cannot blame you for being upset but I'm sure your insurance company will win the fight.

Paula, have a wonderful time at the beach. Weather should be super nice.

Oh, Margy is sorta blonde so she should be having even more fun than ever before. Wonder if Tom Sweetie will bring dinner to celebrate.

Wanda is about 5" shorter -- um, her hair that is. Not too old for long hair just too hot in the summer for long hair.

Sharon, continued prayers for Kristen and her family.

Hi to Jo, Andy, Sandi, Lori, JudyE, Lynne, and any others I missed along the way.

Yes, the wannabe adults are on their own. I have no further responsibility. I wish them well but am so happy to say goodbye to this group.

Grace's incision was not healing properly so the incision was cleaned and back on is the dreaded collar. She was not happy. Still have to apply topical antibiotic 3x/day and she goes back again next week. Audrey is fine.

Off to find some coffee and the newspaper. BBL

Good morning! Out to mow very soon. Loved the discussion on dos! Mine keeps getting shorter and shorter. I used to wear it all one length, then my hairdresser retired. Becky is my new hairdresser and I think she is much better. She encouraged me to try different lengths and each time she cuts it gets shorter, but I like it. When Barbara cut different lenghts I did not like it. Anyway, my hair is really short now and of course it has blonde highlights. Gotta have my excuse!

Lolly said...

Sharon, thinking of Kristen this morning. Did she make it through the night? Prayers that she is not aware and in pain.

Christie and Carolyn..loved the owl story. I remember after Daddy died a butterfly kept flying around me...I just knew it was daddy's enfluence!!!

Do not completely understand why the house will be auctioned and not sold. I know it is really painful to go to the house and go through belongings. Try to find humor and good memories. I remember going through Mother's medicine cabinet and throwing stuff out. I threw out her dental floss and I could hear her scolding me. LOL When she was in her last days she wanted some dental floss. I cut a long length off for her and she scolded me for using so much and here I was, throwing out the whole thing! Yikes! We laughed.

My sister had a stable night. I was able to spend about an hour with her this morning. She responded to my voice, was able to nod yes when I asked her if she could hear me. Hello...anybody home?

I just read Lolly's comments about her Insurance Co. not giving her a rental car. I can't imagine that...
After this fiasco is all over, I would certainly give thought to finding a NEW Insurance Co.! We have just a common (no bells and whistles) insurance policy, but was given a rental when we had a "totaled" accident! (Nationwide)

I just mowed about half of our lawn...the first time in 2 years. I must say it felt GREAT!! My Bio-Tech knee worked great. Love it, Love it!!

JEWELS, I am thinking that maybe you should talk to a realtor before you decide to Auction Momma's house. Auctions DO NOT bring very much money on a house, plus, you have to pay them 20-25% commission. If you wish, I can talk to a good friend who is a realtor and ask his opinion.

Judie, speaking of my hair being too long...when it is long, I can twist the back of it and pin it up off my neck and that helps tremendously, but up on top of my head makes me look so matronly and I'm not ready to look like a GRANDMA, even though I am;)

Time to wash and curl, and dry this hair and make a meal for FAMILY FRIDAY. Karla has taken off to the OBX again with Rachael and Jayden and the new baby, Brantley...so, they will not be in the line-up tonight. Hopfully Denise and Brandon will be there!

Good Morning/Afternoon, Everyone!

I've been running around like a headless chicken this morning! Have already been over to take care of the bulldogs, and I've gotten all the outside plants watered, and some of them trimmed back a bit. Going to do a bit of transcription, then head out to Wally World for the weekly grossery shopping.

Shar, prayers continue for Lori and Kristen, and family.

Anxious to hear an update about Josh. Prayers for Kay, Kathryn, Red, (Has anyone heard from him or his wife?) Linda, Carolyn & Christie, and for Gracie.

Hope everyone has a good Red Friday. I'm off to work on transcription for a bit. Later, alligators. I love ♥us♥!

In from mowing, edging, and blowing. Then made a few "Lolly Piles" but picked them up. LOL "Lolly Piles" is what Jack calls piles of weeds, twigs, or dead flowers that I pull and pile up. I have a reputation of leaving them all over the yard, but I am doing better!

Have showerd and washed my hair and we have turned on the AC today. Presently 87...groan!

Wanda, our insurance we get through Joey. No chance of changing insurance. Possibly get better, but this is one way we help him out. I hate driving Jack's truck. However, we are doing good sharing the ride and thankfully we had no plans for a trip at this time.

Wahooo!!! Just this second got a call. Another division of the insurance and I do get a rent car, but not until next Wed. when the adjuster sees the car. Oh, well...I can wait. Yea!

While drying my hair, I was watching our eaglets. Shep came in with a fish? and one of the babes grabbed and mantled it immediately! The other eaglet just watched from afar while fish was eaten. Dad decided he wasn't needed so he left. Soon after, Belle flew in with her furry critter. Eaglet who was able to confiscate and mantle the fish, tried to do the same with the mammal, but Belle would have no parts of that...as she was tearing it apart, eaglet who was on the other end of the nest hopped over and snatched about half of whatever Belle was de-furring...took it to the other end of nest and peacefully ate away. Meanwhile, Belle tore off pieces of the meat and fed to a whimpering, fish stealing eaglet. What good parents Shep and Belle are!
