Sandi, Jack has tagged along with me for a couple of visits. He enjoyed looking at eagles and watching the nest. Gene will be there for sure and will enjoy his company.
Anyway, starting to get ready for Saturday. Everyone will be here in the evening and Michael's family is spending the night. After dinner they are going to a benefit for a classmate of Michael's. She has breast cancer and started therapy the 18th. We are keeping Zach and then they are staying the night. Wahooo!
You all know how I feel about cooking. But I got a bunch of coupons in the mail from Giant and there was also a recipe that sounds great, and easy enough for even me! I'm thinking this is my Superbowl Sunday dinner:
Slow Cooker Stuffed Pepper Soup
1 lb. ground beef or ground turkey 1 cup chopped onion 1 tsp. minced garlic 28 oz. can diced tomatoes with juice 6 oz. can tomato paste 4 cups low sodium chicken broth 3 cups chopped green pepper 2/3 cup uncooked rice 2 Tbsp. brown sugar, packed 1 tsp. dried basil 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon black pepper to taste
Cook meat, onion and garlic in a skillet over medium heat til browned. Drain juices and transfer to a slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients and stir gently to mix. Cook on low for 8-9 hours. Add water to thin if necessary.
After this crazy week, can you believe I have my 100 day celebration on Tuesday. I NEED a snow day, but I don't think there will be one anytime soon! :(
YEAY LOLLY surgery on Thursday!!! Do tell us the time when you find out. I am glad you did not have to wait till March first.
Prayers SHARON.Yes some places still carry stationary...you are a dear friend.
SANDI Good luck with the rewrites. It used to peeve me off when I had to rewrite them for putting special ed students in French as a second language class when their English teachers were complaining how they were not getting English!!! Come on folks be realisitic...Bureaucrats made the decisions and we had to live by them. The kids and the parents did not want them their either!!! OH MY!!!I am bitter over this one...
Went back to catch earlier comments and couldn't get here with posting, thus the hmmmmm!!!
Carolyn and come and gone. My sweet girl!
Things are moving well now!
DanaMo and Sandi....sure glad your work weeks are almost over! You've both done more than your fair share!! Sandi, hope the team won despite the lack of the starters! Well, glad to know that with or without Mom or Denny, you will still join us!!!! Of course, tell Denny that several other Dadsters will be here!
Got all the final approvals for CancerCares to pay the co-pay on the chemo!! Of course, this round will go to re-pay the drs. office supply....don't know whether they will put me on it again or not....guess the PET scan will determine that in a few weeks.
LYNN, so glad you've gotten relief ! You must feel ever so much better already.
SHARON, Andrew is a gem---so happy he noticed that sale. Happy news about Joe's progress and a good sign that Nila feels up to writing thank you notes !
LOLLY, s'wonderful the surgery could be moved up ! Perfect eyesight will soon be yours !
I always seem to be exhausted by this time of day. Ran errands in the morning and saw the ortho doc this afternoon. He & the PT seem truly empathetic and quite distressed that the usual bursitis treatment has not worked for me. Will have an MRI on Monday so he can see the lumbar/pelvic areas in addition to the hip. He promises he'll get me to the pain free point. I must be patient ! Won't see him again til' the 16th--there sure are a lot of people suffering with old bones, muscles and joints !!!
Prayers for all in need. Can't wait to hear they've been able to "close" Tori up so the next steps in the healing process can be taken !
Jo, what are the taters going with??? Wish I was there!!!! I am going to eat the other half of my steak and cheese sub in a little while!! What I ate earlier really hit the spot!
OK LYNN this is our next step...how many weeks is a few weeks for the PET scans? I will direct my prayers towards them so they would come in clear PLEASE GOD...YES both your girls are AWESOME and I am glad CARO was there today with what you needed.
Sharon, if no one has answered, YES, they still make stationery, and I could send you some of mine... if that would help Nila with her thank you cards....Good Idea ??
I picked up my page of Raptor stamps....$17.00 for 20 85-cent stamps, so I can mail heavier letters out to people...they are stunning, I might just frame the page instead
Lynn- Hallelujah! Way to go go go...! Carolyn brought all of us Smoothies this morning ! Yummmmm !
weather tonight changed, from the forecast last night for tonight
Isn't Who Let The Dog Out a song?
Sandi, sorry about the two students not being able to play tonight... but, you get to be at home earlier, that's good. Brrrr winds are cold tonight hereabouts
They are so nice at the eye doctors. I love it when they remember I am Lolly and not Laurel, my real name. Everything has to have Laurel on it of course. When I left I felt they were sincere about moving my appointment up. I just want it over!
DanaMo, I had several great activities for 100th Day! Loved this one....In identical containers I put different things of different amounts. They (students, other teachers, office staff) got to guess which one had 100. The one that was 100 was cake sprinkles. The teenie tiny colored sprinkles. Hardly anyone guessed it was 100. Fun! In the other dished I put different amounts of penniea, cereal, nails, crayons cotton balls....just anything.
Home-made Green Pea soup and ham for me tonight... son-in-law, James's father, made it. He's a pretty good cook...also gave me two bags of sliced Honey Ham, Sodium Maximum, here I come
Glad to read that tea is good for osteoporosis, I can go for that !
ttfn need to change into something more comfortable
Oh Lolly! Yay for the moved up appointment, and wow, what a neat week-end you have coming up. (( Hugs ♥ ))
Little 3 year old girl is missing this evening...just on the news. Prayers for Zoey. Last time her grandmother saw her was in the front yard with her dog.
Margy, can you put in for a vacay day for the 21st?? Gather you made a trip to BS this afternoon??!!! Needed a James fix, huh??
Smoothies and oatmeal pies....you gals are gonna pay!!!
Tea has done nothing for my osteoporosis!!! I thought I had read that it leached calcium out of the bones.....guess the scientists changed their minds!!
Lolly, sounds like lot sof fun activities when you had 100 day celebrations!!
In another hour I am headed out again to go to the concert for "Sacred Songs and Chants From Around The World". I had heard that too about tea LYNN this is why I am always very aware of how many cups I drink a day.
New Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice tonight, so I'm going to take my bath now to be ready for TV at 9. JO, I'm still liking Alcatraz (just watched this week's episode last night)! KAY, hope the docs and therapists get you pain free sooner rather than later! Nest is pretty easy to see tonight but sadly, it's MT! =( Goodnight friends!
Lolly praying for missing 3 yr. old Zoey to be found alive!!!!
Lynn thank God for the broken dam!!!

Lynn I think Martins carries Breyer's yogurt.
Lynn I feel so badly that you have not eaten much since Sunday AM. Hope Carolyn can bring you back some kind of food whether baby food or what. I see you need Gatorade or Pedialyte and the Omega 3. YEA YOU CAN EAT!!!!!!
Yes Delphia I have put you on prayer list about fighting for them NOT terminating your disability benefits. I pray you get your disability check back!!!!!
Lynn thank you for posting the NBG future decisions. Although I don't like what I read. :( Sad!!
Geula like your posting of spwiner or spwing. I think Judie or someone this morning posted something like that.
Hoda use a straw so you won't get the staining from the tea or other list of things that stain the teeth.
May Angelo Dundee made his journey to heaven. Ed and me use to watch "lots" of boxing. I miss watching it with him. Not the same even though I have tried. Ed would really say things. Like I do with football. Love you honey♥♥
JudyE the lady you met at the park. Did you tell her about the Shepherdstown Blog? Does she watch NCTC cam? Or are you talking about she watches those wildlife things on tv? Hope you told her about the cams and our blog.
Mema Jo what did I miss that you are eating but sharing with some family members. Oh I do remember from early this morning something about 11 oatmeal pies. Is that it?? lol
Andy I am glad you like Jamie Oliver. I think he and his video needs to get out to more people. Had the car in prayer glad the fix is not a real costly fix. Car moves on!!!!
Lolly got already on prayer list the 9th for your surgery. Best wishes for great eyesight (:
Kay I am glad your doctor is going to do an MRI of lumbar/pelvic and hip. I have been praying for this for some time. That he would do this for you. God Is Good!! Please keep us up to date on the outcome of the MRI. HUGS
Prayers for the lady that was a class mate of Michael's had to start therapy on 18th for Breast Cancer. Nice they are having a benefit for her. Memaa Jo Our Camera was suppose to have someone on it this year to move it in and out and around. Never happened. We never have had it. We did our own zooming in by using the zoom or by enlarging the picture.
Sharon said she spoke to Nila and they took the catheter out today. She wanted to write some thank you notes. Sounds like Nila is feeling better. Lord what are you up too? ( :
Now I have one question: I heard using a straw can give you gas. Is that true?
Hoda, I have been meaning to mention something I learned about iron...the Red Cross always tells me that tea helps deplete the iron in your blood, so supplemental iron is probably good for high tea drinkers. I drink Iced tea all year round, and some hot tea as well...but I am not giving up my tea!
I used to try to donate blood but my blood wouldn't make it through the spin test...guess I had lower hematocrit levels or something...but I should go try it again....
Paula, I'm with you---not giving up my tea for nuthin'!!!
Margy, wondered where in the world you had those birds!!!! Well, with the calendar, they can't fly away!
DanaWV, I had so many bad experiences with Martin's dairy products being bad in the past....I'm almost afraid to buy any there! But I'll have Carolyn check the next time she goes there. I think she shops there occassionally.
I think NCTC only zoomed the cam a couple of times last year...or the year before and we had to ask them to take it back out some, remember??
Christie and Shannon and friends are headed up to one of the ski places in western MD tomorrow. She will stop at the pharmacy and see if they got my medicine in yet on their way. Another sweet daughter!!
Temp is down to 41°, but wind is only gusting now, not steady. Lots of clouds skudding across the sky.
Dinner is in the oven....last half of my sub! And I've almost finished the first bottle of Gatorade!
Lynn, they had the cam zoomed in last year when Paddy hatched, we had to ask them to move it out so we could see what was happening when Shep appeared on the scene. Last year was the first year for the current cam.
MARGY...I NEVER have granulated sugar at my place...oh I would over use it if it was handy!!! LOL...I am glad it works though... My iron suppliments are working well so far, almost a week on them and I feel better...no shortness of breath as I walk up the hills in Nelson... BYE for now...
Nice eveing with family and Jordyn dance class is always fun and got to see the eagles in the nest at the cell phone tower they must either have eggs or a eaglet they both were in the nest at dark went down in to the nest of the tower so that is a good sign Well now I need to read I have been posting pic on the blog and I have video of todays eagle on the blog and facebook page and youtube so I will go read for a bit
LOLLY glad to hear you are getting the surgery sooner than later
LYNN great news about the dam busting and no flood control needed LOLLY are you under sever weather one of my FB peeps posted a sever weather map on the page just wondeing Stay safe if you are
MARGY I love pea soup send me a bowl Please LOL Can't you request for a certain schedule that far in advance???? I sure wish I could make it up I am on vacation that week anyway Maybe things will work out but I doubt it
SHIRLEY that is so cool that Hunters class is watching the nest now Belle and Shep are movie stars LOL
I hope Zoey will be found safe and sound and why was a 3years old alone outside with the dog in the first place???
Thanks for info on Turtle bay I was wondering what happened to the nest I keep looking on the page every
The sandperson is making a stealthy trip down the hallway with a bag of sleeping powder in hand. It is time.
The night light is on for anyone who may need to arise in the darkness or arrives late from the West coast. Sweet eagle dreams and restful sleep for all.
Judy, it's hard to tell at night, but if she's going to lay an egg, she will puff up and hold out her wings slightly...we have also heard her chirp when she's laying an egg.
I WOULD HAVE BEEN WATCHING TV BUT WAS TRYING TO UPLOAD VIDEO OF JORYDN DANCE CLASS AND SAW HER DIDN'T EVEN GET TO WATCH GA OR PP WAS INVOLVED WITH VIDEOS
Great news! Zoey was found about 2 miles from her home. A man and his son found her on their wooded property. He did not even know a child was missing but called 911 and said he had found her. Her dog was still with her. The grandmother was in tears, said she disappeared in minutes. She should never have taken her eyes off her!! They are still questioning the child.
Wow, the nest suddenly got brighter. Whoops back to being dark. Blow those clouds away!!! Bright again!
yep I put two pic in album and did a small recording and getting ready to upload it to youtube I did a couple of them but will only put this last one on with better moonlight
Geesh I hate this cam at night....think the lousy video and sound makes it so hard to watch. My computer really seems to drag watching the nest at night.
Hi everyone. Finally got through. How do you get through splits?
I have been away for quite a while dealing with doctor's and referrals to specialist that I am doctored out!~!
My PCP ordered a new arthritis med but my kidney specialist said no to all NSAIDs. Oh, the kidney specialist was a referral from my cardiologist. What a confusing time. Only tylenol & percocet for arthritis now.
Did read that Tori and Joe were doing well. Such great news and will continue with prayers for both. God is good.
Lynn, you having trouble with your digestive system? So sorry. I know what that's like. For me it's worse than giving birth. Had lots of bleeding from the hemorrhoids. How did you get relief?
On a happy note, #1 grandson, Jared, (Max's big brother) visited last weekend and we took him out to dinner for his birthday and gave him his Christmas present. It was wonderful to see and talk to him. I love that kid! He's a junior (ROTC) at Randolph-Macon College.
Sorry, if my posting seems strange or confusing tonight. My pain doctor has prescribed Soma and I'm a little "loopy" tonight. Hope I can find my chair.... Better get to it now.
Prayers for all needs and my dear friends & aquaintances here. God bless all of you.
Hi Diann. Click on the red word Thursday, that seems to help most. You will have the tan background, and other words in red. If that doesn't work, just post something and it will put you on the next page.
Jo, the gremlins finally left my computer, it must have been updating or something...
I am off to shower and then be back to watch some more.
Eye doctor called this evening. Wanted me to lay off one med also wanting to know if I had any questions. He did this last time too. Called before surgery and called afterwards. He really is a nice guy. The paper I received today said he would like to pray with me before surgery.
If she is nodding off she would have her head tucked under her wing.I think she has something else on her mind - Unfortunately I remember in the past that Belle stays the night until early morning hours - no egg appears - but she is back the next night with good results Just Saying So You Won't Be Disappointed if that is the case for tonight.
I shake my head when I drive down the road and see swing sets sitting in front yards. One house even has an infant swing in a tree not 20 ft. from the road.....even if NOT left unattended, did they ever to stop to think what would happen if a car ran off the road????

Did you tell her about the Shepherdstown Blog? Does she watch NCTC cam? Or are you talking about she watches those wildlife things on tv? Hope you told her about the cams and our blog.
Mema Jo what did I miss that you
are eating but sharing with some
family members. Oh I do remember
from early this morning something
about 11 oatmeal pies. Is that it??
lol
Andy I am glad you like Jamie Oliver.
I think he and his video needs to
get out to more people.
Had the car in prayer glad the fix
is not a real costly fix. Car moves
on!!!!
Yes Lolly truly we will miss you and Jack not being at the Open House. I am so glad they are allowing us and the Eagle Express onto the grounds.
NOT A LINK DON'T FORGET TO BRING
YOUR BINCOLARS!!!! AND CAMERAS!!!
Sharon said she spoke to Nila and
they took the catheter out today.
She wanted to write some thank
you notes. Sounds like Nila is
feeling better. Lord what are
you up too? ( :
Now I have one question: I heard using a straw can give you gas. Is that true?
Wow, neat link Paula, of Turtle Bay...
thanks
too bad no live cam for them this year
I think the skies might be clearing some and I see a little Moonshine on the Nest
Yep, just confirmed that here in Martinsburg...skies clearing...
Go Away and Stay Away clouds
Hoda, I have been meaning to mention something I learned about iron...the Red Cross always tells me that tea helps deplete the iron in your blood, so supplemental iron is probably good for high tea drinkers. I drink Iced tea all year round, and some hot tea as well...but I am not giving up my tea!
?
Dana, our cam does have a zoom, but it is operated soley by NCTC. I haven't seen them zoom it in yet this year.
Lolly, sure hope they find little Zoey.
There are more photos in the Liberty and Patriot series....look on the right side of the page and click on the Liberty and Patriot set. Nice shots.
Straws make me hiccups!!! Thanks DANA...
Tea depletes iron PAULA? Oh NO!!!
I used to try to donate blood but my blood wouldn't make it through the spin test...guess I had lower hematocrit levels or something...but I should go try it again....
favorite cure for hiccups...
a spoonful of granulated sugar...just let it dissolve in my mouth, works every time immediately
Right you are, Paula..those additional pictures ARE nice
and how about the Mount Shasta, animated...
time to eat...soup and sandwich is ready
ttfn xoxo
nest is really brightening up !!!
Go Moon !
Patriot and Liberty have a lot of work in the years ahead to get that nest up to size!! Thanks, Paula!
Lynn, they had the cam zoomed in last year when Paddy hatched, we had to ask them to move it out so we could see what was happening when Shep appeared on the scene. Last year was the first year for the current cam.
Margy, the spin test was for iron levels! I know it well. They use something different now.
I am off to the concert now...
Talk to you all later. Stay well and enjoy the evening...
10-4 on that Paula...well, I might make out better now...that I am 60 and past you know what....
the monthly visitor ☺
Lynn, no James visit tonight, will go up on Sunday and make a day of it...
Enjoy, Hoda ♪ ♫
Sing a happy tune on the way back...
Enjoy the concert, Hoda. Sounds fantastic!
Time to eat! And for Grey's!
geesh---looks like this is going to be a dumb episode.

Seems this could be an eventful evening at NBG...eagle in the nest doing nestorations!
Hope everyone is well, I'll try to check in from work tomorrow. Goodnight and prayers for all!

Time for me to head upstairs. I am yawning and my eyes are tearing. See you tomorrow.
Waatched Grey's, why do they have to make dumb, idiotic programs? It was ridiculous!!! Now watching PP. It is good.
Have not heard anything about Zoey. Not until the news will I hear anything.
Yes, we are supposed to have storms tonight, but do not expect servere weather. Just want rain on the lakes!! We are still soggy after our 5 inches.
eagle eagle
The sandperson is making a stealthy trip down the hallway with a bag of sleeping powder in hand. It is time.
The night light is on for anyone who may need to arise in the darkness or arrives late from the West coast. Sweet eagle dreams and restful sleep for all.

Judy, it's hard to tell at night, but if she's going to lay an egg, she will puff up and hold out her wings slightly...we have also heard her chirp when she's laying an egg.
Security lights lit her up a couple of minutes ago....clunk clunk

HI LYNN AMAZING HUH
Well I just blew it and ate my last
Oatmeal Creme Pie (getting a new box tomorrow)
So elated to see Belle in her spot in
our nest.
COOL CAN SEE HER REAL GOOD NOW
After the egg is laid, Belle will allow it to harden before starting to brode the egg. Then she usually calls out
..
This is a great night! Won't be much sleep.
Someone call that guard and tell him to leave his headlights on the nest...
Has anyone snapped a pic for the
album yet...?
Guess I'll keep the puter on tonight and the cam up!!!
Looks like she's up now.....don't go anywhere, gal!
Clouds must have moved off...view looks great now.
yep I put two pic in album and did a small recording and getting ready to upload it to youtube I did a couple of them but will only put this last one on with better moonlight
she is looking down and moving snuggleing in the cup
Forgot about the herky jerky movements at night.
Herky-jerky slo-mo appearance.....
going to youtube now bb in amin
Lolly, prayers answered on little Zoey, praise the Lord!
Hope the clouds stay away from the moon!!
Afraid too many folks turned in too early!
I thought the man who found her was going to cry. He said he thinks he was led to find her.
ok it is uploading now so we just sit and wait my eyes are getting droopy the pm has hit oh now will I be able to stay up I will try
I still can't beleve that they left her alone I would never ever think about doing that with Jordyn
her feathers are really being blowin on teh back of her head
Bath time....BBIALW!
ok how long does it usually take hours days at least I don't have to get up early for Jordyn
Geesh I hate this cam at night....think the lousy video and sound makes it so hard to watch. My computer really seems to drag watching the nest at night.
Judy, we have seen Belle sit in the nest all night and no egg. So, just can not predict when she might possibly lay it. This is definitley good.
I do remember her being in the nest on night I think it was her a bout a month or so ago
OK, shut my puter down and brought it back up...not much better. :(
OK, shut my puter down and brought it back up...not much better. :(
I bet little Zoey was just following her dog! Thankful she is back home.
I think Belle is really thinking about
it - Are we going to take night shift
OR we can at least stay up until Lori
or the morning crew comes on!
nest is so well moonlite now
she looks to be nodding off
Jordyn got her new twin bed tonight it is trundle bed pretty cool
She is still just standing there in the cup, looks like she is dozing off from time to time.
I a part of the morning crew what time does Lori start I remember she said her hours are earlier
she looks sort of puffy now or is it just the light playing tricks ???????????
car must have drove by
Clouds have moved over again, but the truck lights were just on
my daughter would think I am crazy staying up and watching her
Hey but we know I am crazy lol
Paula - it made you stutter....
Don't shut it down again!
I have both cams up - Still and Live
Getting some lines across the Still
Was that the Security van's lights
I agree with the dozing off I don't seem to be having the sluggis cam yet Knock on wood
Lolly, so grateful they found little Zoey.
Clouds have moved off again.
shep should be down there holding her hand lol
Hi Diann. Click on the red word Thursday, that seems to help most. You will have the tan background, and other words in red. If that doesn't work, just post something and it will put you on the next page.
Jo, the gremlins finally left my computer, it must have been updating or something...
Diann Welcome to the maternity ward tonight LOL
I'm back!
See Belle is sitting on the nest. It's time?
Thought her visit around 5 PM was looking like it's egg time.
Has Shep brought food to the nest yet? I hope he knows She can't be a single parent.
I'll be here for a while or until the soma makes it impossible to sit upright.
Can't sleep now!
Besides the EM album I put two pic on the FB fan page
HE BROUGHT FOOD TODAY WAS BY HIMSELF AND ATE ALONE AND SHE SHOWED UP LATER AT THE SUNSET VISIT AND ATE IN THE AREA HE MUST HAVE LEFT SOME FOOL
I just wish the others could know I am sure they will be kicking themselves in the butt for going bed early
I am dozing like Belle darm PM pills are kicking my butt
I don't think my eyes are going to stay open much longer
Looks like Belle is dozing
Much as I hate to, I am going to have to log off for tonight.
Yes, I think we will have eggs soon...my thought earlier today was eggs within a week.
Last one to post, please post a big note so Lori knows that Belle is in the nest!
Hitting the hay...
(((Hugs for all )))♥
I wonder if anyone from the OC is watching and WOW and Hancock
I am off to shower and then be back to watch some more.
Eye doctor called this evening. Wanted me to lay off one med also wanting to know if I had any questions. He did this last time too. Called before surgery and called afterwards. He really is a nice guy. The paper I received today said he would like to pray with me before surgery.
If she is nodding off she would have her head tucked under her wing.I think she has something else on her mind -
Unfortunately I remember in the past that Belle stays the night until early morning hours - no egg appears - but
she is back the next night with good
results Just Saying So You Won't Be
Disappointed if that is the case for tonight.
Beware of the SPLIT upcoming...
That is what I was remembering too, Jo. This is such a good sign, though.
See she's still there!!! Thrilled!
I shake my head when I drive down the road and see swing sets sitting in front yards. One house even has an infant swing in a tree not 20 ft. from the road.....even if NOT left unattended, did they ever to stop to think what would happen if a car ran off the road????
