Morning Jim almost afternoon there

Just about, Paula. I was actually up earlier, but have sore throat and nasal passages. I laid back down, and I covered up, which was kind of a mistake, because I slept at least an hour and a half more.

Still don't feel great, but I'm better.

C(°ٿ°)D Jim

movin said...

I was just noticing that Finney's notes say that at least 3 of her eggs have hatched. They're running behind and her fourth could have hatched by now too.

I still haven't gotten a good look.

C(°ٿ°)D Jim

stronghunter said...

The word I got was that 4 have hatched. I think Lynn said that.

paula eagleholic said...

Jim I think Lynn said the 4th one hatched

Done my mowing and some other little chores....taking a break, read the blog...

Andy very interesting about the parrots...you have most unusual bird sightings

Jo enjoy the recital

Lolly so glad Michael and family can join you in CO

Good Sunday Afternoon to Eagle Pals! ☺
Read some of the AM comments and saw JudeyE's video of Polka Dot Truder! Yesterday I asked how we would recognize him when his head turns white? Now we know~~polka dot back!He seems to be going the other way of maturing!
Our outside thermometer bit the dust. I was outside watering everything w/MiracleGro mixed in watering can. My head was as wet as Truder. I thought it must be 100° again, but TV weather channel said 83°!!!!

NatureNut said...

Was checking Jo's Black Stork link. The bluey one gives you current Looduskander page, but pic of nest is from '08--3 chicks.
Seems other link has a current picture posted from the forum~~some mention of power not up then on solar panels until 2 PM. I haven't been able to get any of EENet open for a few days.

Checked Isla last night & they are still in nest, but sometimes spend more time away from eggs.Laird still brings her fish!

JudyEddy said...

VGAL DANA I also have it posted on the blog under Nest videos I learned from SHIRLEY that we can do video DUH I didn't know that until I saw her graduation video Now you all are in trouble LOL

Hi all! Just checked and still no new thread.

Stayed at church for lunch and a congregational meeting. Voted to start up a daycare at our church. this is really reaching out as we are a small church, but have the facilities. Covet prayers for this to succeed.

Dana, we are going to Rocky Mt. Natl Park just outside the town of Estes Park. This is northwest of Denver. This is where we have gone camping for the last 45 years! Jack and I camped there before kids, with kids, and then with the grandboys. We love it and even get the same campsite. Creatures of habit. Michael and Laurel climbed all over the rocks, stalking wild creatures and now the boys do it. It will be Zach's first time.☺ We all hike and do it every two years.

For the record....I love liver and onions, but do not prepare it as I am the only one in the family. So, I seldom get it, however, if I am ever in a cafeteria that offers it that is what I get.

It continues to be scorching here. I HATE summer. The lawn down front is dying, and it is a fight to keep the lawn and gardens alive around the house. Anyone want to pay my water bill?

Judie said...

I'm back and glad to see that Lynne2 returned to let us know she's okay.

Hi Jim. Glad you got a little extra snooze time and that you are feeling a little better.

Butterfly presentation was okay. Expert went too fast and really didn't help us understand much about attracting the little pretties. The woman in charge took over talking about Monarchs and she was outstanding. Found out from her I bought swamp milkweed. At the nature center, they actually use little stickers to tag newly emerged Monarchs. Part of a program with Mexico to try to track their migration.

Lowreeda, went out after getting home to dead head the butterfly bush and was drenched in about two minutes. Storm expected, as was posted by others.

Need to check out the black stork nest. Also, was unable to get the Loch of Lowes nest this morning. At least Isla is still be cared for.

Okay, going to pretend to be Jo and put my feet up. My legs, also.

Lolly said...

Jo....I chuckled last night at your comment, that if you stayed on instead of going to bed you would be creating new words for the Momster dictionary. Too funny!

JudyEddy said...

STEVE and NILLA said they were having bad storms I hope everyone stays safe Is it storming at the nest doesn't look it some interference with the live feed every now and then

Judie said...

Thanks for the offer about paying your water bill, Lolly, but will pass on that. Texas areas was mentioned this afternoon as the extraordinary dryness has an effect on the Monarchs that migrate out west.

JudyEddy said...

Cancel the APB LYNN has checked in Working yuk does get in the way of thing we enjoy Glad you check in the gals were about to send out a search and rescue team

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Good Sunday afternoon wonderful friends! We are home from yet another fantastic weekend at Claytor Lake. We got to visit with a gorgeous red-tailed hawk and her baby Friday and then we saw her today. They live in the cove we always go to and spend the day on the boat. So blessed. Hope all is well with everyone. I will try to read back on the blog and see what's up!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I saw on FB that Floral Girl is finally getting some rain! YAY! We had a passing through here a bit ago, looks like another might be coming soon!

JudyEddy said...

Three attempts now I forgot the 2 in LYNN2 Sorry but 503 all the time now try again

Judie said...

Took a minute to check some nests.

Pete's Pond was a very quick visit as something seemed to be attacking something else. Clicked away.

Decorah is very windy. One eaglet perched at 12 the other two plotzed.

Can't see anything at NBG. Wish the back was a light color.

One of the Kestrels is perched at the opening. Others watching. Thinking a fledge may be sooner than later.

Our nest very pretty color but MT

Getting darker here. May need to shut down when storm arrives.

Judie said...

Hi Sharon. Glad you all had a nice lake visit.

Judie said...

JudyE, remember to always make a copy before posting. That way if the blog cop eats your words you can just paste and try again.

Lolly said...

Sigh.....wish we had rain!

Going to go mop a floor or two. Then need to make a trip to the grossery store. Have a luncheon to go to tomorrow...Burleson Area Retired Teachers. Need to take a dish and nothing in the house. New retirees are invited. Will think of you, Shirley.

JudyEddy said...

503 Petes pond has a herd of elephants at it now to cool

JudyEddy said...

they are walking away now darn it any way

JudyEddy said...

I love the sounds of petes pond

JudyEddy said...

They sure have some hellacious bugs there

JudyEddy said...

I wish someone would tell NBG that we are unable to see the eagles hardly anymore I wonder if they are aware of the poor visibility with that screen I noticed the other day that someone does remote the camera sometimes

JudyEddy said...

STEVE post picture of a tree split in two in front of a house I ask if it was his place no answer yet His caption witht he picture was DAMN

JudyEddy said...

Hmm I think coping the post is keeping 502 and 503 at bay LOL Just luck I think

NatureNut said...

Well, went back outside and got a small thunder bumper.
At least it's a little cooler.

JudyEddy said...

Hey I asked on the EagleCamAddict page about the dark screen and it is hard to see the triplets and this is the answer I got

Sue Sorensen yes, that is about all. There is some lighter screen ordered I believe. When they fly around it is pretty fast but they sometimes stop near the "pool"

JudyEddy said...

Little more that two hours before our pair so I'm gonna go do something BBIALW

stronghunter said...

I saw Steve's Facebook picture, too. Looks like quite a storm went through there.

NatureNut said...

Hi Judie & Sissy. We had a few Park people that would tag monarchs. Last year our Director did. It was funny seeing him w/net~~~he's bot an avid nature perso--more parks & rec.
I've got to checvk my little row of Wanda (I think) milkweed seeds I planted & see if anything came up yet.We have butterfly garden at Park w/all the reg. yummies--milkweed, butterfly bush & weed, lantana, bee balm & tons more.I have all those + red salvia at home (except big milkweed) to attract hummers & butterflies.
Need to plant some parsley. Black swallowtail caterpillars love it.
Sissy, sounds like you visit a really special place, like Paula!

NatureNut said...

Found Wanda's most current picture of NU! It's in "Wild and Wonderful", April 15,2011.

Try to do a Blue Thingy----
Wanda's Pic of NU

A couple years ago, Wanda & Gene went to NCTC when they were working on camera in tree & got lots of pics, of course including NU. Chrissy in England said she was ready to hop across the Pond!!LOL

JudyEddy said...

DARN IT I got another response on facebook question in regards to the black screen Sue said that another was ordered and now this guy says this

Jerry Blankenberg Judy, that black screen, regretfully, distorts our view but it is to prevent them from over flying the swing and injuring themselves. It is better than no view and will be adjusted as WCV learns their habits.

JudyEddy said...

NICE Hma Hma Hma

Mema Jo said...

Well Judy I agree with Jerry's explanation about the 'black screen'. No rain yet here in the
valley.
I am home from a very long
enjoyable dance recital - all ages
performed - it was great. My little
gal did Hip Hop and Ballet and one
other one -Humpty Dumpty. I still
have music ringing in my ears!

JudyEddy said...

ok is that how you would spell the word I am thinking of??? hma or hmu

JudyEddy said...

Yep he can put his shoes under my bed anytime

Mema Jo said...

I guess if Steve has the tree down
that he isn't even thinking of new
fresh thread! Well we have done
without before! It won't slow us
down a bit..........

Now hubby and I along with all the
neighbors in our circle are invited over to the newest homeowners to get together.

So - I'll be back!

Mema Jo said...

Steve's comment was:
Yet another vicious thunderstorm . Up to golf ball sized hail, high winds, and half of the last big silver maple in the village just came down.

stronghunter said...

Fierce looking clouds coming from the back and the front yards. Rumbling thunder.

JudyEddy said...

MEMAJO OH so nice a HOUSEWARMING I don't think people do that in Fl to transient state I think 503 503 503 503 503 GO AWAY

wvgal_dana said...

Back home stayed at Mother's in town until storm was over.

Then came home deadheaded some flowers. Fix the stones around the plants. By that time my glasses fell off my face from so much sweat. (I caught them)

Came in and took a shower. Now I'm trying to drink something cold.

Jim you are sick again.
Sore throat and nasal passages.
Jim I feel so badly for you.
You have had this a lot over
the years. Are you sure California
is the best place for you to
be living?????

PA Nana said...

Hi everyone.

Just checking in after several BIG storms last night and today. Whew!
Had a tornado warning for about 30 minutes here and it was scary. I'm alone today.

Last night Jim just got home before the flooding in the yard and the laundry room = again!

He got the shop vac out of the big shed and put it to use in the laundry room. What a mess!! Sump pump still running in the basement.

Still have those big tree limbs to clean up after Friday's storm. We can't handle much more rain. Wish I could send some to Lolly.

Time to get supper ready... bbl

wvgal_dana said...

Sissy glad you all had a good time at the lake.
Did Sharon and Thelma go?

No Lolly I don't think I want
your water bill. I hate my sewage bill it is every month $47.25 and I'm only 1 person. 5 people live 2 spaces below me and pay the same amount.
That errks me!!!!

Lolly I think that is neat.
They welcome new retirees.

Shirley will soon be going to things like that. ( :

Thanks Judie for the nest checks. Good to know. Judie I have notepad on my bottom tool bar. That is where I write comments. Then copy
and paste to blog. That way if error 503 or something happens. I can just re-copy it.

JudyE wished I hadn't missed the elephants at the pond. I love seeing the little ones.

Paula prayers for safe travel for you and Nugz. Homeward bound ..

Loretta your comment and link
to see NU---clearing throat--
contemplating---thinking--running
computer in brain for words--
ok I'll behave --- YEP THAT'S
OUR NU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mema Jo enjoyed the recital.
Now you going to party--boy
you aren't going to get those
feeties up lol Be careful if
you are outside please ♥

wvgal_dana said...

A piece in our newspaper had a good hint for water for birds.

Use the type of water container you fill for dogs. As they drink more fresh water comes down. That's if you don't want to use a bird bath.

hedgie said...

Good evening, gang!
Home, settled in, dinner done....Miss Liesl just got all mixed up. She went behond a chair in the sunroom while I was eating and did a pile----and then comes and barks.....BACKWARDS, kid! ARGH!

Okay, JudyE---thanks for straightening me out on Nilla's broken-legged kin!

Judie and Loretta---I saw them doing the sticker thing at the Butterfly House in St. Louis---cool!

Jo, you are turning into a real social butterfly---we might have to tag you!!

LYNNE---so relieved you are okay!
Did you get my text? Or do you HAVE texting capabilities?

We had a horrific storm in town.....looks wetter here, but not the debris down that the last two days' storms have caused.

Lolly, please tell me that you aren't going to start working in the church daycare facility.....

hedgie said...

503 is being a pain!!

Too bad Steve lost a big tree.

Watched the end of the race---Jr. finished 6th, but he's only 10 points off the lead for the "chase"!!
After race ended they showed previews of my three favorite summer shows!! Rizzoli & Isles, HawthoRNe, and Memphis Beat! All starting soon!!!

Jim, you have email!
Loretta, think I sent you the pic of the four Finney1 chicks. It IS on my blog, too!

Lynne2 said...

back for a minute....bad storm along Bay Bridge area. It got nasty looking here but we didn't get but 3 drops of rain. But the same storms blew up BIG time east of us. going to eat dinner....

Lolly said...

Sitting here watching the news. The big game is tonight. GO MAVS!!
Watched the last game at Laurel's. Very exciting!

Wahooo!!! Slight chance of rain the middle of next week. That is a better prediction than we have been getting.

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie-Lynn excuse me for being nosey. Had Liesl ate yet? If not or if so and you had let her out. I have her excuse for her----you were eating. Eating means you go potty....Liesl I'll help you out gal lol ( : HUGS and I'm going to be cuddling you MORE HUGS!!!!

wvgal_dana said...

Diana prayers for you and Jim's safety. Sorry about the sump pump and the mess.

Hope Paula was already across that bridge!!!!!!!

Lynne2 glad you checked in.

hedgie said...

No more rain in forecast here after today until Th.! Breezy tomorrow---hope that will dry the deck carpet fast so I can blow off all the mess!
Will have to go out and start pickin gup sticks, too....alomg with a couple of limbs. Hope the breezes blow the humidity away.

JudyEddy said...

PA NANA so sorry you had bad weather If I lived closer I would come over and help. Take it slow and don't over do it OK

I agree with the water bill crap I have to pay minimun makes no sense to me either Why can't I pay for what I use Water,Sewer, Garbage, and Reclaimed Water, and Recycle is $65.47 per month Part of that applys for the street sweeper also

HEDGIE and the sister remark was with Pam Hines you must have been skimming the blog huh Here is her comment from FB that I had posted at the same time I did Nilla You just got cornfused CRS Halftimers, and Sometimers may apply here

Pam Haines
Finally got some good news. My sister Crystal's MRI showed no changes, so her MS appears to be stable.
Still have to get through the next couple of days. Robin Hoelen, I miss you so much.

Sissy, all of your weekends are great this time of year! Glad you get to commune with nature while having fun! What are Mattie and Justin going to do with their summer?

hedgie said...

Dana, Liesl had just been out and she finished eating about the time I started!

Diann....don't know how you deal with that repeated flooding....I would be beside myself. Glad the tornado was a no-show! Are you recovering from your fall?

hedgie said...

I was leaving the meeting today, and was at a traffic light. A cop pulled up behind me, i=one in left lane beside me, and one in lane facing me on other side of intersection. Knew I hadn't been speeding....but it was still a little unnerving for a minute. Guess I should have felt super-safe!

wvgal_dana said...

Ok Hedgie-Lynn I won't take up for Liesl. You are there and know and love her. Although I am going to have fun you helping me so I can cuddle her. I can't wait. I should have ask you to help me. Ed always knew about things like that and helped me. I am not use to asking others. I will get the hang of it. Especially since the cutest doggie I have been around. I messed up and didn't get to hold and cuddle her. Sniffle me...

wvgal_dana said...

Something just landed in top of or nest tree.

Judie said...

Lowreeda, I just found out this afternoon about the parsley. So, maybe tomorrow I'll go get a whole bunch more to plant. Only have two right now that I got for cooking.

Judie said...

Paula, know you've left but safe travels home for you and Nugz.

hedgie said...

Strange noises on or near nest....

Jim, hope you are feeling better. Summertime crud is the pits!

wvgal_dana said...

I don't know what is up this year with the hummingbirds. I have not seen (1) yet???

Anyone else having that problem?

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Hedgie, Mattie has scarcely left Sharon's side since she got back home. Justin is hanging at his Mom's house most of the time, think he has a girlfriend. Yes, we are blessed this summer for sure!! Loving my life to say the least!!!

Judie said...

Oh good grief. First it was Wanda with Jack and Lolly with Gene. Now JudyE is after Nu. This group can really get out-of-control.

Jo, glad the recital was a success. Especially so very special you could be there.

Had a bit of ugly weather here for about 45 minutes. Cooked up some bacon for BLTs just in case power went out. It didn't. Bet it would have if I hadn't cooked that bacon. Anyway, BLTs tasted good.

Jo, you need to slow down. You are quite the social butterfly today.

DanaWV, watch being out in the heat and humidity, please.

Diann, so sorry about all the water and inconvenience. Hope things settle down now and cleanup won't be too awful.

Lynn, sorry about Liesl's accident. She's still a baby.

Hate when big old trees come to an end. Sorry it happened in Steve's town.
Okay, going to try to do some reading.

Hello everyone. Hope this message finds everyone doing well and having had a great weekend. It was cool here after a very stormy week. I have to wear a sweater to go outside. Dex however is loving the change in temps. Working some this month at the shelter to help cover for some vacations. Dex always loves it when I say "Want to go to work"? He can still find his way around the shelter office area easily and has put smiles on the faces of a few kids and their mamas too. Speaking of work its time for supper and then get things taken care of tonight so we can get out of here easily in the morning.

wvgal_dana said...

so many interesting posts about so many things,
have just caught up
one problem: where do I start ?

My little note pages are full!

DanaWV: THANK YOU FOR CALLING MEGAN AND CHECKING ON CARDINAL VINE,
You were very correct, I DID NOT see Wanda's post before I left for market

Speaking of which, It was great to see Megan, I sent your all's hello's, and got me some Flowering Tobacco plants ! And one bouquet of fresh flowers: something called Indian Summer, and Mexican Hats! (Plus some other beautiful things in there as well)
But Megan is prettier than any of the posies!
xoxo Hello !

Had a Wowser of a storm while in Berkeley Springs while at the pool, everyone out!
Then could return 15 mins after the last sound of thunder.
Bummer about the bad storm at Steve's, and about the last silver maple in the village....
Hope HE and HIS ROOST are okay !

It was I that mis-read JudyE's comment Friday night about Nilla's GRANDDAUGHTER breaking her leg, read it as DAUGHTER....
and then posted "sorry to hear that Nilla's daughter broke her leg" or something like that:

Very Sorry for the Confusion...all my fault !!!

Hedgie/Lynn, yoga was a positive experience for me. Towards the end of the three hour workshop I was thinking I had enough...it was 4.5 hours of yoga today as I did 1.5 hours in the morning...Now is to absorb all that I have learnt...I will have 2.5 hours tomorrow of yoga and then back to the simple 1.5 hours per day for the rest of the month. The workshops give me an idea as to what I can improve on in my daily practice...

I'm back to say goodnight to everyone.

Tie up those loose ends Shirley and enjoy your retirement.

Was cruising the tv with the remote and found CMT showing Terry Fator and his characters. So funny and so good. Jim's in bed so the remote is mine for a bit.

If anyone is not familar with Terry Fator, he's a ventriloquist that won one of the talent contests on tv; just don't remember which one. He is so good! His puppet just sang a song and sounded just like the original.

Now he has an audience member being his "dummy" and will probably have him sing like Cher.
Gotta watch this.

Prayers for everyone's needs and wants. God bless.

Lynn
Read your report of your flu and illness and x-ray and discovery of your lung cancer
Close Call...
As Shirley said, in different words...
glad you got sick, so that this could be discovered...and treated successfully
(( Hugs ♥ ))
Have read with interest and great admiration for all who have battled cancer and won....and with sadness the information about those who have lost loved ones
Also, BRAVO to all involved in any and all support efforts regarding this disease
God Bless You, ALL xoxo

Diann, Terry Fator won America's Got Talent.....and ended up with the highest-paying contract ever in Vegas....100,000,000 smackeroos. I LOVE HIM. He is surely one of the most talented people there is, and a really nice, humble guy! I was SO happy when he won, and he deserves all the success that has come his way!

hedgie said...

Hoda, didn't realize you went for yoga every day! Sure gets you out of the house!!!

Goodnight, Margy. No problem about the Nilla mix-up! Knew I had read it somewhere!!!

Paula, sorry you had such a long ride home.....storms and the summer traffic is gonna work against you from now til late fall....:(

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, I found a coccoon on my old mums at the beach...will try to get to pics tomorrow night, along with last weeks pics ☺

Diann, I heard about the tornado warnings in PA

Judie...mmmm BLT's, good idea for at the beach

paula eagleholic said...

Margy, I think ya'll named my beach house for me...Paula's Paradise. Gonna get a sign with "Welcome to Paula's Paradise" on it!

Nugz went in the water yesterday, and Michael and I walked along the shore as well, but no water today. Nugz has not been feeling very good.

I am heading to bed now. Tears are starting to stream from my eyes. Poor eyes are tired!

Forgot to tell you...Jack saw the armadillo that is doing damage, but that is all...just saw it. He was up and hunting for it, but hesitated shooting because he thought it might be the bunny rabbit that we have been seeing.

However, our neighbor called tonight. He is armadillo hunting in the morning. They have gone under his foundation!

I am gone now! Sweet dreams!

PA Nana said...

Back briefly.
Glad you're home safely Paula & Nugz. Hope Nugz feels better soon.

Loretta, don't bend those knees and hope they're better soon. Good luck at the dentist.

I'll never join the 'I like liver' gang. Yuk! The onions kill some of the flavor but not enough to suit me.

Lynn, thanks. I forgot what show Fator won. He's amazing.

Also, glad to see tha tLynne2 is still around. Any work on a job for Steve?

Must tell our Steve that our silver maple has lost some limbs during those storms too.

If anyone is still here, I say goodnight again.
God bless everyone.
♥♥♥

hedgie said...

Talking to my girls....second-shifters! Now time for bath.

hedgie said...

Goodnight, Diann! Yep---not enough onion flavor in the world to kill the taste of liver! Funny swtory: the FIRST time my Mom had my Dad to her home for dinner, Grams fixed liver. He HATED it, too. He cut it up in small pieces and putit in his mashed potatoes and swallowed it without chewing! Mom always said that he proved he loved her by doing that!!

And on that note, I will say goddnight all. Sleep tight. Dream of whatever you love to eat!!
Prayers and peace!

Hi, Everyone,

Getting here later than I had hoped, and sorry I've missed some of you!
We got about 5 text messages from my Sis-in-law this evening. She says (regarding Phuket,Thailand):

Hi!... More beautiful here than you can imagine. In a tropical rain forest, for real. Gorgeous. Interesting wildlife. Yesterday took an all-day tour of island. Rubber tree plantation, Cashew nut factory, Chinese mansion, giant Buddha on highest hill on island, rice farm with water buffalo cart ride. Trained monkey taking coconuts off tree--he does 1,000 per day! Took elephant ride. Thai food similar to Chinese--good! Many dishes with cashews. JW Marriott compound is UNBELIEVABLY GORGEOUS. True eye candy. EXOTIC. Timeshare is all teak and mahogany...pours rain hard 3x a day for 10 minutes.

Ms Bookworm said...

Well, it sounds like they are having lots of fun there!

Sorry to hear that Jim is under the weather with a sore throat, etc.! Prayers for a speedy improvement! You've got the right idea, Jim--lotsa extra rest!

Prayers for dear Nugz, too. Hope he feels much better, soon! Paula, your b____ house does sound like Paradise!

Gosh, all this talk of liver & onions has me hungry! I like it too, and haven't had any in ages!

Well, it's getting late, and tomorrow is Monday, so better try to get some sleep. Prayers for everyone, and for all creatures. Checking to be sure the porch light is on. Judie, thanks for the night light! Turning on both security systems. Sleep well, and I will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]

Gene and I had fun helping with Bible School. This is our first year helping out. They made crafts, played games, had Bible study, sang songs and ate their snacks (made by us). Just a wonderful program for kids.

Thank you, DANA, for calling Megan and Margy...very sweet of you to try to get me a Cardinal vine! Maybe next year!

Head is dropping closer and closer to the keyboard...bedtime:)

GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
