Good Morning Eagle Buddies.
Nice to see Nu waving Hello!
Gotta do some reading....

Hello everybody!

Lolly said...

Good morning Jo, Loweeda and Sharon! Have just finished watering pots. See that our eagles did not visit the nest this morning, and such a nice clean cam it is!! Again, thanks to Nu!

Going to clean up and Jack and I are heading to Denton. Laurel has been sick all week with a urinary infection. Has not missed a day of school nor Open House at her school. So, we are heading up there to surprise her with a clean house, laundry done, and dinner cooked. Thankfully she has a three day weekend ahead of her. And, surely her meds will take affect soon.

I just want to say I hope you all have a great day and I will be back on late tonight.

Lolly said...

Margy, I wanted to thank you for your thoughts on Gus and family. I just feel guilty that there is nothing more I can do. I know that of course there is nothing I can do, but feel guilty when I see someone in such a hopeless situation. I can pray and I am going to do a lot of that!!!!!

I want happy thoughts in my head, so that is that! Now, I am going to be picking up my Jacob at his school today. Yea! I LOVE doing that.

Good Morning, Jo, Loretta, Sharon, and Lolly,(and thanks, Steve, for the new, squeaky-clean thread!)
I'm dragging in late again this morning--just can't get it in gear!
It's pretty out this morning. The sun is out, and although it promises to be hot & humid again, it looks nice right now.
Guess what--forgot to mention it yesterday, but saw a California Towhee in the back yard, who was diving into the really thick asparagus fern out there. Haven't seen one of them in decades! What a nice surprise.
I'm amazed that the Orioles are still here. They're supposed to migrate to Baja the end of August, but they're hanging around.
Need to really study hard for tomorrow night's quiz in Anatomy class. It's not multiple choice or matching type questions, it's all essay questions. Teacher says that way you HAVE to really know the information! I'll be glad when this first quiz is over, so I'll know better what to expect in the future. I've started trying to learn all 206 of the bones in the adult human body; that's on a future test.
Well, I'd better go water the patio plants and refill the seed feeders. My feathered buddies are little piglets lately! Be back shortly. Have a great day!

Good Afternoon Those from the old thread and those on this bright, clean, sparkling and colorful cam thread.

Lots are out running errands on this beautiful day.

Don't want no flying beer mug Wanda so I'll keep my windows UP.

Anrea I'm praying you past that test and YOU WILL!!! Lady are you sure you are studying to be a transcriptionist??? Sounds more like a studying to be a doctor? Good LUCK..

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Andrea, I was thinking about you this morning. I was typing a pathology report and the doctor dictated Orphan Annie nuclei, had never heard that one before.

magpie said...

Love the California Bird Reports, Andrea
Orioles, Towhees, Herons...

My naturalist friend in New York has seen a Night-crowned Green Heron...from the West Coast to the East they are...

Deb your new pictures on the Ospreys, are wonderful.
Thank you!

Methinks it is a busy day for all today....or afterglow from yesterday's nest activities has us all quiet, or a combination of both.

I am happy to report I could express my Salute to two Air Force soldiers at the grocery store...they understood! Thanks again, Diann, and Dana, and Jo for seeing that I got the link!

Off to Morgan County now very soon.
Will watch for the nearly full Moon from up there.

God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥

magpie said...

Good Luck tonight, Andrea

I agree with Sharon, more like a doctor's degree for you coming up!

xo ☺

Must be a record LOW # of posts so far!
Nothing much to report, but while outside, just saw that ornery little vireo getting mag. seeds from the tree again & no camera. So fast, probably couldn't get a pic anyway. No new news on Koo. They will do Xray on 9th & she's getting stressed in those surroundings. Poor baby.
Awaiting the new GPS data on Rothes and Mallachie.Rothes doesn't seem to want to stay away from the sturgeon farm. Maybe she's waiting for caviar!

Hello again.
FYI: Sissy, Sharon and Andrea:
Orphan Annie eye" (empty or "ground glass") nuclei are a characteristic histological finding in papillary carcinoma of the thyroid gland.
It was a new one on me, too, so had to look it up!
I agree, Andrea will be a doctor at the rate she's going!
Andy, how did last nights' test go?
I bet your Orioles didn't head to Baja yet because of that hurricane--they weren't dummies! Bet they'll be leaving soon, unless it's your food that's keeping them!
Afraid that Margy probably got held up in traffic like I did....wreck...took almost 30 minutes to get a mile!

Judie said...

Hi everyone, time to catch up a bit.

Lolly, what a sweet special treat for Laurel. I know she will appreciate all the help -- I know I sure would. Do your best for Gus and he will always take the good with him even in the not so good times ahead.

Andy, keep up the good work. You are an inspiration for being motivated. Can't imagine having so much to learn. Good thing medicine wasn't in my game plan.

Dana, hope you and Ed are doing well. How you doing with the eye?

Sharon, what is an Orphan Annie nuclei? cells? nerves?

Jo, bet you look even more beauteous now!

Hi Jim.

Mits, bet it was a beautiful day to watch the horses. Hope you really enjoyed.

Been a busy few days for me getting settled with 200 wannabe adults. Both classes seem to have started well but two "performances" a day is a bit tiring.

Judie

Judie said...

Oh, the Orphan Annie answer was posted while I was typing. Thanks, Lynn.

Hoping for a good report for Koo.

hedgie said...

Like Jo said..it IS quiet here today. Sure is beautiful outside. Need to go out with a wet towel and wipe down truck....car wash left it badly spotted....argh!

hedgie said...

Sure wish I had remembered to post it before Margy left....the clock tower was put in place on the new courthouse (under construction) in Morgan Co. yesterday.....she might have enjoyed taking a gander. The old courthouse burned down a couple of years ago.

hedgie said...

Oh, Mits, love the Assateague and Chincoteague ponies!! Last time I was at Assateague the mosquitoes were almost as big as the ponies and were SO BAD that we had to break camp and leave the next morning......they assualted the camper all night so that none of us got any sleep, and it was like running a gauntlet to get from truck to camper or vice versa!

hedgie said...

Hi, Judie! So the first week is under your belt....and you have 4 days free , right? You relax now and rest up!

PA Nana said...

Hi everyone! Blessings around.
Just signed in and must catch up, but before I opened the blog I checked on Diego - It's a boy!!!
They added a commentary on his first check up. So cute!!
... be back later.

Mema Jo said...

So glad I read comments before saying Hi & Bye!

A BOY I'll read up on it later

Hubby and I are home but just got invite from son (2 miles away) to come

Hi, Diann! What great news about Diego! Of course, we knew it had to be or the other, but glad to know so we can call him a HIM!!!! What a cutie he is.

Mits said...

don't forget to stop by SD site and see the video of the exam....

Mema Jo said...

Home again & changed quickly into comfy clothes because I am not going out again... I can only do so much running around.
Dinner was great and we didn't even get taken up on our offer to do the dishes.
I need to go see Diego's video.

hedgie said...

I am in the penalty box again....can't do hardly anything. Takes forever to do some things and never for others--like the exam video. Argh!

Mema Jo said...

I love the video of Diego's 1st exam especially when the gal who carried him in announces with a thumb's up that "It's a Boy!"

Mema Jo said...

Well Hedgie - does that

Mema Jo said...

.... mean you are going to disappear

Half of my comment disappeared! lol

hedgie said...

Look at it---8:11 and dark, dark, dark.
REDSKINS are on!!!

Mema Jo said...

Well, I'll see you back here when it is over, Hedgie! Keep me posted on the score!

Judie said...

Checking in.

IT'S A BOY! What a terrific video the S.D. zoo provided. Lynn, you must stop and take a look, if you haven't yet. Diego is just so adorable and doing so well.

Jo, I'm with you. Now into comfy sleeping clothes to watch the First 48 -- if I can stay awake. Wish you had saved some chicken for me, also.

Yes, I have until next Tuesday. But still have to do real-life stuff like laundry & cooking plus prep lectures for next week. Never realized how much work it takes to teach but then, I wouldn't want to do anything else.

Off to watch First 48.

Judie

NatureNut said...

Evening Everyone!
Gotta check on cute little Diego.
Redskins on---not doing too well.
Fubby keeps changing channels & never stays at one long enough to figure out what it is!!!! Is that a guy thing??? LOL
Seems we watch the repeats of 48!

Evening, all!

Looks like it's been a quiet day on the blog.

First I've checked it all day...busy at work with meetings, then had to do grocery store run tonight...trying to make a casserole tonight for dinner Saturday night. Don't really feel like cooking when you've been painting all day!

Will take one day off over the weekend for a picnic on Sunday at son's house, looking forward to that!

paula eagleholic said...

Is that our full Harvest Moon out tonight?

floralgirl said...

Why yes it is...isn't it beautiful!
Howdy all:)

hedgie said...

Well, I hope they catch the arsonist and prosecute him for murder.....2 firefighters have died.
Can't watch the video, Judie----Hughesnet has me penalized for apparently watching too much live action.
Loretta...of course it's a man thing!!! Click-click.

paula eagleholic said...

Diego is a boy! How fitting and wonderful!

paula eagleholic said...

Howdy Megan and Lynn!

Didn't realize Skins were on tonight...don't have time to watch anyhow!

How's the garden, Megan? Booking lots of trips, too?

paula eagleholic said...

Megan - was your hubby doing a commercial tile job last week?

floralgirl said...

Yeop, he did a commercial tile job in a fire hall down in Frederick.
Garden is hanging in,we are watering a lot, seems the rain has just stopped...
Been booking field trips all week.

hedgie said...

Gotta go work on the pizza casserole! BBIALW

PA Nana said...

Good evening everyone. Steelers at half time 14 zip. Dana, I hope you're watching.

Yes, it's a man thing with the remote. My hubby does it too except when the Steelers play; then it's mine!

Football kinda fills the emptyness of MT nests for me.

In case I don't get back, everyone have a good night and a blessed Friday. Don't forget your "red."

paula eagleholic said...

OMGosh, Diego is such a cutie!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good evening everyone! How is it going?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I am currently listening to the soundtrack from the original Dreamgirls! I love it. I know, it is hard to believe that I am not listening to Train! That is coming up next though!

hedgie said...

Score is now 24-10, JAX.

hedgie said...

G'night, Shirley!
Oh-oh, Paula....pizza casserole sounds like another recipe that needs to be shared!!

Costume Lady said...

Ok, I'm gonna tell you the quickest way to get your man to quit click, click, click from one channel to the next....get up, kiss him on the forehead and say, "Honey, you can watch whatever you want, I'm going to the bedroom to watch. He will do one of two things...he might say, "oh, you can watch what you want out here", or, if your lucky, he will follow you into the bedroom;) Tee Hee

Costume Lady said...

Hey Lynn, I thought the same thing...Paula should share that receipe with us. The last one she shared was the bacon-BBQ shrimp...it was sooo good!

paula eagleholic said...

OH, and for youtube, I process my videos into a WMV format with either windows movie maker or another program I have at work before I post them to youtube. Window movie maker comes with XP...don't know if it comes with Vista or not. Doesn't take forever to load that way!

deb said...

I am home, the weather today wasn't the greatest, but we did get a lot of action.

We have our first migrating Osprey at the lake. The young Osprey didn't want it around their territory. We also had two immature eagles chasing Osprey. It is fun to watch how they work together to chase off the intruders now. The eagle did get the fish, though.

hedgie said...

24-17, JAX...that's okay...good solid 2nd half for Skins. Bring on the season!!

paula eagleholic said...

Pizza casserole is pretty simple but tasty. Got the recipe from a girlfriend.

Cook 2 cups dry pasta...drain well. I use macaroni and spirals.

Mix the pasta with 14oz jar pizza sauce and an equal amount (or a tad more) of spaghetti sauce.

Spray 3 qt casserole dish with Pam before layering pasta, then pepperoni (and/or sausage), then mozzarella cheese. About 3 layers of each. Top with pepperoni or sausage and bake at 350° for about 35 minutes.

Serve with salad and garlic bread.

Makes for great leftovers to zap in the microwave, too!

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, and Wanda, love your click, click solution :)

Judie said...

Well, I missed the bacon bbq shrimp recipe althought I think Shirley said it is delicious. Pizza casserole sounds good, too.

As for the click click click -- I solved that problem by going upstairs to the guest room to watch t.v. That way he's stayed alive for quite some years now.

Didn't watch the 'skins. Fell asleep. Need to watch turn on news to get the score.

Also hope the arsonist is caught and prosecuted to fullest. I'm sorry for the loss of personal property but deeply saddened about the loss of deaths of the fire fighters and wildlife unable to escape/outrun the fire. Horrible fate for the animals.

Goodnight, Shirley. Happy teacher dreams.

Going to check on Diego, look at the Harvest moon, check the scores, and then to sleep.

Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for all my eagle friends.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Vista does come with Windows Movie Maker, Paula!

paula eagleholic said...

Do you have Vista, Sharon? Are they getting the kinks out of it? I want a new computer, but have shied away because of the time to transfer all my stuff, and I don't want Vista.

hedgie said...

Deb, that sounds like a very cool day!!! I take it you were off???!! You won't want to go back to work!
Wanda...roflmbo!!! Of course, your hubby is an exception...most wouldn't even hear what you said!
Any luck w/ Paul, Jr.?

hedgie said...

Goodnight, Judie! I'll email you Paula's shrimp directions!
Casserole sounds yummy, Paula!!! Just put pepperoni on my gorcery list, along w/ pizza sauce!!! Have everything else. Think the grands would even eat this one!!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Paula, I have Vista on my laptop and it seems to work pretty well. Gets a little slow sometimes but so far so good!

Costume Lady said...

Thanks for the WMM tip, Paula. I am anxious to try that and see what I come up with. It took me at least 5 hours to post the video of Nu in the tree, which was only 3 minutes long!

deb said...

It was a good day, Lynn. I am tired now, though, so heading off to read. Night everyone.

Costume Lady said...

Lynn, don't forget to tell Judie to use already deveined shrimp and easy peel. She will love it as much as we do, I'm sure!

Costume Lady said...

Night Deb. Sleep tight:)

paula eagleholic said...

Good job on the video, Wanda and Gene!

magpie said...

Good Evening Eagle Pals - we have been kind of low on comments today, but the ones here sure are interesting and informative.

What a Moon! Wish I could have seen it rising, but was not close enough to a vantage point for that.

Early morning flyover for ISS-Discovery just before 5 am here in the ESE and only 29-degrees rise, but I will probably get up to watch for it...there are so many other beautiful star clusters to see anyway so it's worth the trip out...

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn - yes the kids will like pizza casserole!

Wanda - I posted that tip about Windows movie maker before...glad you saw it this time.

I didn't go to bed yet because I was looking for something, the story about the Flamingoes in Berkeley County... it is for CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, which is a nonprofit which appoints volunteer case workers to work with kids taken from their homes because of abuse and neglect. Here is the link to the Journal story from July:
Pink Flamingoes for CASA

Now, I can go to sleep....xo

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
It's too hot to get to sleep, so here I am! Missed talking to you all today, anyway. I'm studied out for now. My brain is fried from studying, AND from the weather. It was a bit cooler here today, I think (about 91 or 92), but very humid and sticky.
Lynn, thanks for the "Orphan Annie nuclei" definition! See? If you need to know ANYTHING, just throw it out there on our blog!
I won't know my grade on last night's test till next week. I felt pretty good about it, though. The nasty quiz is the one tomorrow night--I've been having to study a LOT for that one; lots of new words & definitions. Will be glad when this class is done!
The book is the one they use to teach Medical Assistants, Dana. I am brain weary--no more until tomorrow.
Shirley, Judie & Candy, hope you really enjoy having a long weekend--you've earned it!
Lynn, you know what, I didn't even think about the hurricane being the reason why the Orioles are still with me. I bet you're right!
BTW, saw that they've determined that the big fire was arson. I really can't think of anything quite bad enough to do to them when they catch them! Maybe they should hog tie them and put a match to them! Sure would deter anyone else from commiting arson!
What an evil crime!
Hey, Diego is a BOY! Isn't that neat?! He is SO CUTE!!!
Hope & pray that Koo is improving! Bless her heart!
Helen, how I would LOVE to see the ponies! I read and loved all the Marguerite Henry books when I was a kid. Lucky you!
Loretta, the channel surfing is a guy thing, for sure! Wanda, LOL!
Shirley, hope you get a REALLY good night's sleep tonight!
You're right, Judie--there's not only a loss of human life, but the $$ amount of property loss must be astronomical, and the loss of animal life is just priceless!

Ms Bookworm said...

Sorry my last posting was so long--I'll just say now that I'm tired, and going to hit the hay.
Prayers for everyone; talk to you tomorrow. G'night! :O]

magpie said...

...and really anything RED you can throw on Friday, counts....it's as much a way for you to remember it to yourself as it for others to see... that's kind of the way I feel about it; Flag pin, scarf, shirt, necklace....Second Hand stores are the best places to find what suits you at a low cost. And the Salute, costs nothing and goes with everything !

Thanks for the prayers! They are MUCH appreciated. Sure wish the kids weren't so far away. We've got 'smokin' cell phones'! Here's one case where technology is wonderful. So glad we signed up for unlimited text msgs. Nothing like a family crisis to put your priorities in order, is there?!

Oh, Lolly, three INCHES of rain, and it's still sprinkling?! I am SO jealous!!! I, too, hope & pray that central & south TX get some much-needed rain real soon!

Jo - just tried the live feed...working fine here.

Lolly said...

Would not do to have a people cam at the zoo when you can not get on. :(

Happy Birthday, Iris! Hope you have a very enjoyable day with many blessings.

Capt Gene, our Eagle Buddy, feeling puny? Wishes for feeling better fast!

Whoops, sun just came out. May end up being a mowing day after all. Possible thunder storms all weekend, need to get out and mow when we can.

Norma....I love you, too! Sure will miss seeing you this fall. Do hope you make it to Open House this year for all the others to see you. You gotta go and see me in a bottle. LOL

Mema Jo said...

Thanks Paula. Mine came on quickly now

Not that I am going to see any Eagles through the sparkling clean lens!

Mema Jo said...

Paula - is you green barber pole not stopping? Mine is still going strong even when I do Refresh..

paula eagleholic said...

No barber pole here today, Jo.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Mema Jo,
I was having 'barber pole' trouble too; tried clicking on 'compatibility view' (next to the refresh button), and now have a great picture of the nest!

normabyrd said...

JO!---I have finally decided---LIB & BELLE don't seem to care for a clean nest!---There aren't any sticks in the nest to move!!!---ho!

Ms Bookworm said...

Don't know exactly how that 'compatibility view' thingy works, but it's saved the day many times for me--and I don't have an 'older browser'! Who cares how it works, as long as it works!

Mema Jo said...

Barber pole finally stopped. Whew!

Clear live pic!

Andrea - where is that lighthouse located?

Finally got on the panda cam. Also visited the other SD cams. Wanted to see what my Zach is going to see today. Sure wish I was with them. However, it might be hard to keep up with Zach, I like to sit and watch. You see more that way!

Ms Bookworm said...

Yay! I hoped it would work for you, Jo!
The lighthouse is on the east coast of Scotland. Can't for the life of me remember the name of the village, but it's the place that's home base for the Scottish mackerel fishing fleet. LOVE the place! So quaint!...Hope it's possible to return there someday.

Lolly said...

Used to go to the zoo with my 40 or so kindergartners. I had morning and afternoon classes, therefore 40 or so kiddos. We had it down to an art. You have to be organized. Parents went as well, and they watched small groups of kids. We did NOT stay in one big group! Then we picnicked together afterwards. A big day!

Mema Jo said...

Hi Jim! It's great that after 2 girl cubs Bai had her little boy! The video is great - he sure is a chubby one.

Hello Eagle buddies. VERY late chiming in today...early outing, and then stuff to do...haven't even read blog yet, but wanted to share this new information with you:

This months' lovely moon IS not the Harvest Moon. The Harvest Moon is closest to the equinox, and since the equinox isn't until the end of the month, Octobers' moon will be the Harvest Moon. So September moon is called the Full Corn Moon.

Lolly said...

Okay, I am off! Think today I will conquer two kitchen drawers. Ha! That sounds like a plan.

Have a great day. May the sun shine on you...or if you prefer, may rain fall gently on you!

Lolly said...

Hi and bye, Lynn!

Mema Jo said...

Ms Goose is dressed in her Lady Bug
outfit on Snowman Cam. Lady bugs mean good luck! It is strange when one just pops up at you out of the blue!

I also have a little toad/frog on my deck. When the porch light is on at night and the bugs come a swarming - there will go the little toad/frog climbing up my door (glass and/or screen)to reach them. I can't find him in the daylight hours.

Mema Jo said...

Moon is bright & beautiful by whatever name you call it!
Remember that we have a BLUE MOON this month (I think I read correctly)

Good Afternoon Eagle Pals

First, Prayers for your family, Andrea - - I think you have a new profession and don't even know it: Juggler : School, home, family...and I think you have a lot of company in that profession on here !

and prayers for all our other needs here and around the world.

xo

Second, I hope this is a great day for everyone, glad to hear that Paula will squeeze out a little time off over the week-end, and Paula: remember to take some pictures of the house as it is now!

I put a picture of the beautiful morning empty nest on the Momsters album, there is some beautiful blue in the background.

Talked to my brother in Florida, reminded him that when his package arrives it is for his birthday and to wait until Monday. He is still not happy about turning 70 - but I think this will help him forget his disdain for a few hours at least!

And it is the US Postal Service, not UPS, in charge of this package, I have always had good success with USPS !

Third, I have a ridiculous schedule coming up, work 6 to midnight tonight and turn around and work 6 am to 6 pm both Saturday and Sunday, so it is time for a Big Panda Nap right now for a few hours.

Lynn Go for the Froggy Pallet at auction Saturday! I would like the Woodsy Path but know I couldn't touch the bidding, and I am working anyway :(

Best Wishes for a Great Red Friday and Labor Day Week-end for all...

Love to everyone..xoxo ☺ ♥

PS - I heard a single Spring Peeper peeping up in Morgan County last night. They pay attention to the length of day and when it matches that of the springtime, they do some peeping. My friend in New York tells me all these things....
Gooooooood Night.. xo

I'm sure your brother will enjoy every bit of what you sent him, Margy!

The Blue Moon is in December!

Hi, gang,
Back here for a bit. Gonna need more coffee very soon (hopefully, ICED coffee!)
Jim, good morning, and thanks for posting the link to Diego's first exam. Much appreciated! (Lots of people must be watching the panda cam, 'cause it's hard to get there today!) Hope you have a great holiday weekend!

Wanda, hope Gene is feeling better this afternoon.

Good afternoon, everyone.

Been busy with lots of laundry and other chores. Also feel a bit tired after the school days so just catching up.

Andy, my prayers for you, daughter, and son-in-law.

Happy Birthday, Iris.

Margy, what a dredful schedule. Get as much sleep as you can. We'll all be here waiting for you. Glad you warned your brother not to open before Monday.

So happy Diego is a boy -- Diego just seems to fit a bundle of boy.

Well, back to finish the last of the laundry. Also made spanish rich for tonight -- one of my favorites with pork chops.

Need to ask for more of your prayers, gang. This one is for a peaceful transition for my youngest SIL's grandpa---affectionately know as PapPaw. He doesn't have a lot of time left....his son-the-doctor has told the family less than three months, but apparently bad enough now that Shannon and his mom and Christie are going down to Glenville this weekend to spend time with him and MeMaw. Thanks.

hedgie said...

Margy, that is a gosh-awful schedule! The kind of thing we used to call cycle-time---when you had to go back in less than 8 hrs.---always qualified as overtime!! Hope you are that lucky.

hedgie said...

Jim, I haven't been able to get SD cam on, either.....probably too many watchers!
Judie, I LOVE spanish rice.....as well as long-grain wild rice!

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynn,
You & my son-in-law have one more thing in common--besides me, that is! You both like the same football team!

paula eagleholic said...

Oh no! But kinda cool! Full moon on New Year's Eve!

Coming up on a split!!

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynn,
Praying for PapPaw,also MeMaw and the rest of the family. That includes you! Rough situation, for sure.
Margy, hope you're doing some serious pillow surfing! Sounds like a brutal schedule, and you're gonna need it!

Ms Bookworm said...

Well, gang, I need to do some more studying for that AWFUL quiz tonight! Will be back later for a while. Take care!
