Deb - mine is doing the on and off thing too....but will start working again sometimes when I click on the pic....better than it was earlier when it was frozen solid!
More bandwidth...do tell....Music to my ears Steve:)♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ Went by the nest on the way to the 'quiet' Wal Mart...didn't see any adult around in the trees.... I see NBG is still at 2 chicks, and like you said, Paula, needs to be another hatch soon at OK, hoped there would've been already. Anyway, pretty day outside, plenty of sunshine, and I'm headed back to work...
I was wondering the same thing, Lynn. I have NEVER seen a 'quiet' Wal-Mart. She is probably talking about the one in Spring Mills, which is not highly populated yet!
I have not been there yet. So little time to explore new things and places:(...I always thought when you retired, you could do anything and go anywhere that you wanted...NOT SO! I guess we try to cram too many things into one day! It doesn't work, weather you are retired or not!
Oh, yes....Spring Mills is quiet, especially when you consider that the parking lot has a lot of vehicles!!! Maybe the atmosphere makes people hush.....the sky lights with the natural lighting makes it seem peaceful!
Anyone else think the oldest at BWE is female and youngest male? They really have a size diff for just one day....although maybe it's just because of that one day...didn't think you could tell the sexes apart by size this early.
Deb and Helen...sorry, I wandered off before I read your questions about GeeGee's test today. I was allowed to stay with her and that was comforting to she and I both. Test was a breeze. Won't know anything for a while.
Tuesday, March 24, 2009 “Still watching and waiting” We are still closely watching the nest for any sign that the third egg has hatched. With the depth of the nest bowl and the very attentive adults it can be difficult to get a clear view. The initial pip was noted on Sunday March 21st. Hatching can be an exhausting ordeal for a young chick and can be a somewhat prolonged process. Both adults continue to incubate the egg as they brood the two chicks that have hatched.
Prior to beginning to hatch the young bird absorbed all of the remaining yolk. The yolk is fat-rich and provides the chick with much needed energy. The digestion of this fat also provides a source of metabolic water (water created as a by-product of the break-down of fat).
While the length of time we've been waiting may be causing concern it is too soon to draw any conclusions. We will continue to watch and update the blog with any developments
They changed the Wildwatch home page, I can get the live Kent feed from there now, along with the other cams. I don't think they are going to use the nest this year again.
Good Afternoon (eve) Everybody!! I know some were trying to plan a trip to Patuxent River Park in Upper Marlboro, MD. I just found out today that the pontoon boat WILL be running at beginning of April!!!! Checked schedule book & so far it is only booked on Apr. 24. That is a big highlight of activites there & shouldn't be missed. So figure out a couple good dates that will accommodate everyone & a reservation should be made soon.I will send contact info by email to Wanda & Jo, if that's OK & anyone else. But not this minute---gotta eat & Fubby said GOOD, newer 'puter won't go online at all!!Will probably turn off everything including modem & see what's up--DUH
Went off to do some shopping for a baby shower coming up. I had a ball shopping for the baby. I'll be a great Aunt. I am so so happy for this couple. Especially the husband, he is already a proud Daddy and baby isn't even here yet. ( :
Told hubby oh my if this was daughter could I every have fun lol
Red is alive and well. Started mowing Saturday. Classes are finished but someone convinced me to go to a Mens Garden Club meeting and I joined the ranks last night. Got lots of yard work to do so I won't be around much in the near future. Gonna try to get rid of chickweed and wild onions and need to put dirt around some of my trees that have roots on the surface. I'll be lurking. lol
Good evening all - just finished dinner. We were sorta late with this evening's meal! You are so right about the Whopper Fish Catch in our nest! They really are huge!
Fledging would really depend on the feathers - remember how they used to pluck out the downy feathers!
I take GeeGee out most days for just a short walk and she says it helps her to sleep well. She told me today to go home and not come back til Friday. Knows I have yard work to do. She is doing so well, my heart is swelling instead of sinking:)
Wanda - I go back to Surgeon on Apr 6. I'll still have a walker when I go but maybe I will come out with a cane! I can handle the 3 porch steps nicely now and my walk is getting better. PT gal said not to think about walking just let it come naturally.
Jo, NCIS will start at 9. Without a Trace will NOT be on...boo! Also, don't forget....pollen pollutants will be starting soon, so check pollen counts before spending time outside!!
Hey, Red, don't be a stranger! You'll need some relaxing time after a hard days' yardwork....and you ssure don't want to miss any of our eaglets' antics.
That is a LOT of begonias, Lolly! My Mom used to plant those every year and they were so beautiful. Sadly, she has lost her touch for growing the more delicate flowers. Gene says to come on up, we have room for one more in the Eagle Express. LOL
Oh, Wanda, if only...my field trips, except to the nest of course, are over for a while. Once I have plants in the GH, it's hard for me to leave the house for more than a few hours. So you ladies plan your trip, and I'll expect to see lots of pictures:)
I have stopped wasting money on buying flowers, because I don't have one single green cell in my thumbs!!! EVERYTHING I plant dies or fails to thrive, so I've given up! But can't imagine having to plant that many begonias, Lolly!!!
It is funny, it seems like a lot but when you start planting them they don't go far. And, like I said, Hawkwood Gardens is a big place. (I love having named our place. LOL )
Sorry so late to get back here.Pres. postponed Idol, but we watched NCIS. I did not see 1 bird cam at work today---we had all day CPR, First Aid class in bldg. I was gonna take it, but didn't think I could stand that many hours, so got the books & took notes on what I could hear. The little that I've read so far was that no new hatches yet at NBG or OK.
Goodnight, Wanda. Paula, you didn't miss much!! Loretta, do you have to go thru' the whole thing every year or just refresher to recert? I'm going to say night all! Prayers and peace. See you in the morning!
Lynn, They don't make you take CPR, etc. every year. I kind of wanted to take this, as they were demonstrating the new defib device. Usually it's a 2 day class, but not today! 8:30 - 4 was too much for me. When they started talking about "spurting" arterial bleeds, our sec. ran to the Ladies' room, sick!

I'll alert the crew.

That is the best news today, Steve, I hope it works! We have the cutest little eaglet, even if I only get to see it on the still cam!
LOOK!!!!!
OUr chicklet is out of the bowl!!
And look how big!
Lots of fish at OK nest, too. Hope they have another hatch real soon, they are quickly running out of time.
Hope it works out Steve. Thanks for checking into it...
i JUST refreshed the Live Feed and look how awesome a feeding session they have going.
The chick is laying in the sun, while the adult is laying to the side and feeding it fresh fish.
You can see the unhatched egg between them.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
I just went out and filled my feeders, it is snowing. :(
Liberty must have found a good fishing hole again.
They have at least 2 large whole ones waiting for the two on the nest to get hungry. Plus he's been feeding himself...
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
Jim, I don't see any feeding going on....chick is laying in front of parent.
Adult is on the egg
Sorry about the snow Deb!
My live feed has finally decided to work a little bit....chick looking up, same as parent...
I tried mine again, too, Paula. No movement after about 15 seconds. :(
Thanks, Steve! Keep us updated.
Wonder where Red is? AWOL!
It isn't supposed to accumulate, of course, it wasn't even supposed to snow!
Are they calling for snow for you now, Deb?
I think Red said that he had to start mowing and wouldn't be on much anymore. Today is his class, too.
Cook away, Steve!!
Deb - mine is doing the on and off thing too....but will start working again sometimes when I click on the pic....better than it was earlier when it was frozen solid!
I just checked, Lynn, thought maybe they changed the forecast. They did add the snow, but not anything bad. Tomorrow is supposed to be 51.
Try clearing your temp internet files too. I did that, don't know if that helped or not, but soon after got the live feed at least a little bit!
BWE chicklet is standing on the heels, or knees or whatever you call em...legs?
Eagle at Maine 1, it is really windy there!
More bandwidth...do tell....Music to my ears Steve:)♫♪♫♪♫♪♫
Went by the nest on the way to the 'quiet' Wal Mart...didn't see any adult around in the trees....
I see NBG is still at 2 chicks, and like you said, Paula, needs to be another hatch soon at OK, hoped there would've been already.
Anyway, pretty day outside, plenty of sunshine, and I'm headed back to work...
Megan, what is the "quiet" WalMart?
Spring Mills, Hedgie...much better than the Hagerstown store.
I was wondering the same thing, Lynn. I have NEVER seen a 'quiet' Wal-Mart. She is probably talking about the one in Spring Mills, which is not highly populated yet!
Yes, shhhh....
I have not been there yet. So little time to explore new things and places:(...I always thought when you retired, you could do anything and go anywhere that you wanted...NOT SO! I guess we try to cram too many things into one day! It doesn't work, weather you are retired or not!
How did the tests go this morning, Wanda?
HOW WAS gEE-gEE'S APPT, wANDA
Parent up on the back of the nest...chickie back in the bowl.
Ok, I deleted all my cookies, tried it again, same thing. Then I tried it in Safari instead of Firefox and I have slo-mo back!
Megan, that Wally world sounds like the one about 15 minutes from me...shhh, I'm not telling...
Great, Deb.
Good news, Steve,,,,tell us more:)
Both our nest....switch!
Looks like Belle is back...
And saw some feeding again, too.
Looks like naptime coming up...
I got to see a little of the feeding, too. I did freeze up again, but reset and it is working. It was nice to see some movement again.
Dryer is ready to be emptied!
Oh, yes....Spring Mills is quiet, especially when you consider that the parking lot has a lot of vehicles!!! Maybe the atmosphere makes people hush.....the sky lights with the natural lighting makes it seem peaceful!
Osprey at BWO...
2 in OK,
2 adults in OK, I meant
Anyone else think the oldest at BWE is female and youngest male? They really have a size diff for just one day....although maybe it's just because of that one day...didn't think you could tell the sexes apart by size this early.
Still just one chicklet in OK
where is Spring mills?
That's in WV, Mits. Somewhere near Martinsburg?
Chickie is peeking out from under Mom...soooo cute!
Hi all! Paula we named BW eaglets correctly then if first is female and second male!
Checked OK and then NBG and they both were up but kept things covered. I tell you, it is a conspiracy!!
Spring Mills is in WV, about 20 minutes from Sheptown. SHHHH.....
Put the little peek a boo eaglet on the EM blog :)
Last look I had at Norfolk was still 2 eaglets!
Don't worry, I'll be quiet...I will not go there.Shhhhhhh!
Lolly, I figured you would be the first one there! :)
Both eagles in Maine 1. Now no eagles in Maine 1.
It is so amazing to me how they can go from a tiny little eaglet to the huge eagle they become, in just a couple of months!
LOL, Sharon.
Paula, liked the peek a boo eaglet, while I was there fed you fish. Thought I would tell you as you can over feed fish very easily!
It is a gorgeous day out. Have run errands, think I will now go out and work!
BBL
Both eagles back in Maine 1.
Lolly, Spring Mills is on the same road as Falling Waters Campground, about one and a half miles away.
Deb and Helen...sorry, I wandered off before I read your questions about GeeGee's test today. I was allowed to stay with her and that was comforting to she and I both. Test was a breeze. Won't know anything for a while.
Where is our baby???
think it is sleeping down in the hole
I had the same panicked thought. I think it is buried under fluff, Lynn.
Belle awfully interested in something above her.....where is the baby???
Deep fluff! Hope he doesn't suffocate in there.
I hope it is buried under fluff.
our eagle gone.
Belle gone again.
I had one refresh of its head popped up.
Whew...just saw head pop up--barely!
Our chicklet is alone..hiding down in the fluff
OK ladies, none of this panicky stuff. You made my heart fall! Hidey is hiding!
Man, glad ya'll panicked without me. I was just panicking reading your posts!!
Glad you saw chicklet, Deb.
And Lynn...
glad we don't have smelli-cam, with all the fish in the nest
Geesh look at all the fish laying in the nest...
The way Belle was looking over the edge had me worried for a bit! There is movement now. She must have buried Hidey deep!
I see fluff moving...
This is how the eaglets get their names...Hidey:)
it looked like she was watching something to chase away.
Just saw movement. Yeah, now I can breathe!
looks like she is coming up for air
eagle back
Parent back...
Maybe could just have scratch and sniff, Mits. Scratch when ya want that loverly eau-de-fish scent.
Don't you think this eaglet will fledge sooner than normal, being an only chick and being fed well and having no competition?
ehhh, yes Paula, nice smell....

chicks in view NBG
parent back down on chicks, still see egg. they have a mess of fish too.
.netYou are so right, Paula...those extra ounces could make a difference:) It takes me a while longer to leave my nest now;)
They changed the Wildwatch home page, I can get the live Kent feed from there now, along with the other cams. I don't think they are going to use the nest this year again.
funny, Deb, i just went there, thought something was wrong with the page
I thought the same thing, then figured it out. :)

Hi Everyone in Eagleland
Went off to do some shopping for a baby shower coming up. I had a ball shopping for the baby. I'll be a great Aunt.

Dana, babies are sooo special. We haven't had one in our family for 14 years!
Red is alive and well. Started mowing Saturday. Classes are finished but someone convinced me to go to a Mens Garden Club meeting and I joined the ranks last night. Glad GeeGee did well with the test.
I am so sorry that I missed seeing our little eaglet being able to bet out of the egg bowl! Did anyone get a pic?
Please let us know when you are lurking, Red so we can say hello. I am glad Spring is here & working outside is great! Wish I could do more..
Jo, make sure you go out and get a lot of fresh air when the temps allow!
I take GeeGee out most days for just a short walk and she says it helps her to sleep well. She told me today to go home and not come back til Friday. Knows I have yard work to do. She is doing so well, my heart is swelling instead of sinking:)

Loretta, that is so great that the pontoon will start early!! Sure am getting eager for this field trip!!
Good evening! Worked in the yard today, planted 5 flats of begonias and need 3 more flats.
Wanda, hey....I know where that Wal Mart is. ha! Oh, I remember, shhhhhh.
I wanna go on a field trip with you. Dern!
SHHHHHHH...............
That is a LOT of begonias, Lolly! My Mom used to plant those every year and they were so beautiful. Sadly, she has lost her touch for growing the more delicate flowers.
Gene says to come on up, we have room for one more in the Eagle Express. LOL
Megan, are you flexable on your schedule? (for our road trip)
Ahhhh, that is sweet. Tell Gene I said "thanks". Don't know when I will be getting up that way. :(
Yes, that is a lot. I have a big yard!
Remember that Paula said no Thursdays!!!!
Oh, Wanda, if only...my field trips, except to the nest of course, are over for a while. Once I have plants in the GH, it's hard for me to leave the house for more than a few hours. So you ladies plan your trip, and I'll expect to see lots of pictures:)

Nite all, long day here, gotta hit the hay.
Lynn, how flexable are you?
It is funny, it seems like a lot but when you start planting them they don't go far. And, like I said, Hawkwood Gardens is a big place. (I love having named our place. LOL )

Sorry so late to get back here.Pres. postponed Idol, but we watched NCIS.
I did not see 1 bird cam at work today---we had all day CPR, First Aid class in bldg. I was gonna take it, but didn't think I could stand that many hours, so got the books & took notes on what I could hear.
The little that I've read so far was that no new hatches yet at NBG or OK.
Good Night Everyone...
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Goodnight, Wanda. Paula, you didn't miss much!! Loretta, do you have to go thru' the whole thing every year or just refresher to recert?
I'm going to say night all! Prayers and peace. See you in the morning!
Game is over and SDSU lost 60-58 to Baylor. Too bad, it was exciting, just not exciting enough!
Lynn, They don't make you take CPR, etc. every year. I kind of wanted to take this, as they were demonstrating the new defib device.
