STEVE, we sure would appreciate a new report on the sound along with our live video. We are not too far away from our eggs hatching...and it would be WONDERFUL to hear their little chirps!!
Here is what I had posted before the new thread came up!
I'm here...finally. Hope it lasts. Afraid to leave the page to check to see if I am out of Hughes prison yet! Red, sounds like you are living right!! Anne Marie, google-based bloggers can use the same name on any google-based blog. So Alyssa may not be a momster---tho' she should be to keep up with her MIL!!! LOL! SO glad you are enjoying your trip, and that Brandon is having fun! Margy...what was the word on the heat?? Thanks to you and Mits for expressing my frustrations! Sharon AKA Sissy!! ☺ , we are waiting anxiously to hear what you find out...hope it is good news. Wednesday, February 18, 2009 2:10:00 PM
Red, I think you better high-tail it to Charlottesville!!!! Don't forget your cane! Wednesday, February 18, 2009 2:14:00 PM
Since I had to leave the page to get onto new thread, I checked and I'm out of the penalty box. Yippee! Now I can check mail.
They have started an IV, so we are making headway. Ya'll should see us. We are camped out in the hall of this big ole emergency room, laptop on the stretcher, justa blogging!!
Well, Sissy just went to the parking garage to get my laptop so we can have dueling computers. :) IV going, now just a waiting game. There are lots and lots of people here in the ER.
Just spoke to another doc for a few minutes. They are contacting general surgery first to see if they want to take care of me or pass me of to plastic surgery. I told them that I really did not care which one did, just so at least one of them does.
GeeGee is somewhat better today. She was separating her dirty clothes so she could wash them. when she put them in the washer, she put them all together, blacks, whites and colors. My mother spent many years teaching me to SEPARATE CLOTHES BY COLOR! She was adamate about not going to see the doctor. She did eat some beef and noodles that I took up to her. She thought it would be nice to come home with me...but not overnight. Then she decided she wanted to take a nap instead of coming with me. I don't want to take away her wishes and dignity...so I will just watch her every day and if she doesn't show a lot of improvement, I will just tell her she has a doctor appointment...then she will go:)
it is in the laundry section, looks like dryer pads, I put it with my colors all the time, and even throw white things in with it, it catches the color that bleeds off the colored items.....
Wanda, what else can you do? We have to let them have all the independence they want.....all we can do is give a helping/guiding hand, but as long as our moms are cognisant, they are their own keeper! You are doing the right thing!
Sharon, I went through some of that after my 2nd C-section. When they opened it up to drain it, they put a drain back in for a couple of weeks. OB-GYN met me in the ER, and luckily it didn't take long at all, (of course it helped that it was MY unit pre-maternity leave!) thank goodness, since I had a 2-week old and a 3 yr. old with me!! Co-workers loved that, tho'! Hope you get out of there quickly!
Thanks, Lynn, that makes me feel better. I'm thinking I should do more..but what? Never dreamed of this day coming. But I do know how much her independence means to her.
I felt well enough to get hair cut & then drive over to Wally's for gift wrapping and some browsing. I am so thankful I feel some energy in these old legs! Got caught in heavy rain coming home up the highway. It has all stopped now. Our nest looks good!
Back from the vet...good news...Boo's ear has started draining again...from the time I left this morning til the time I got home....much improved! So, no surgery for now! Recheck in 2 weeks!
Wanda, we had the same deal with Mother. However, there was a time when we respected her wishes and we should NOT have. It took one of her grandson's who is a chiropractor to convince her she needed to be in the hospital.
Hey Mema Jo!! They just brought her some pain meds but so far that is the extent of the treatment she has received so far.
They have had patients down here in the ER for 4 days waiting on a bed. That is not very encouraging. They have put in a consult for general surgery but no one has come yet!
I reckon I am gonna go get us a room here in a bit. I am almost positive they won't keep her here, although I wish they would at least give her a couple days of iv antibiotics.
Im here too Jo, just put the 6 month to sleep and taking 5 for myself. the 4 and 3 year old are playing .My son has Brandon off on an adventure and I sent my dil off for the day to herself. I will only be here two more days and they both need a break.
Anne Marie - you are a mother/granny to die for! You are being sooooooo good to everyone that I hope you take more then 5 for yourself when you get home!!! ♥
Wanda Your report on GeeGee, is tender, sweet, touching. I do agree with your decision, about letting her have her wishes, and also think the ruse about "having a doctor's appointment" is a great one. What DOES the doctor think? All this may reverse itself if this is just something getting her system out of balance for a few days... xo

Dana, she would get penalized if she used internet the way I do. But she works two jobs, so isn't home much. She hardly ever browses or downloads or looks at cams. She mostly just does email.
I don't know if it has been mentioned, but they have some video on the Maine/Norfolk blog, which looks very much like the Norfolk pair DO Have three eggs now.
As yet I don't see anything posted on Norfolk's site though.
I think I'll put the bluie link on this comment. The clip is about a third of the way down the page:
well, I am going to have to check out now...nap time before I go in at midnight for 6 hours.
It's been great to "see" you and Buddy, T-Bird...Have a good evening. Hold down the fort while the remainder of the Southern Delegation does battle at UVA.
Good Evening Eagle ♀ and ♂ People...hope it is a nice one, with good things happening...xo
Well, the doc from general surgery just came and said they felt this issue was closer to the plastic surgery part, so they have consulted plastic surgery. If plastic surgery doesn't want to take care of me, then general surgery will admit me. YADAYADAYADA!!

Well I have finished my overnight and my afternoon sleep. I have read this thread but don't have time or energy to read earlier in the day thread. Not sure what happened that Sharon headed to UVA but sure sounds like she needs to be there.
It is sickening to me how undecided and unorganized our Health system has become since insurance companies took over years ago. Has anyone noticed their buildings....oooops soap box....guess I won't go there but prayers for treatment now and the right treatment for our Sharon.
Continued prayers for Gee Gee and her laundry oh and her daughter too, and prayers for Norma as well. Glad your doggy's ear is draining again Paula
Any medications you bring into the hospital (aleast during my stay). They take and hold till discharge. Expect there was (1) of my meds they couldn't get so they had to get me to sign a paper. For them to use that medication and not charge me.
They don't want people medicating themselves. The hospital is suppose to medicate and write down what and when was given.
I know they are to write things down but I had the unfortunate experience of a young nurse approaching my bedside and questioned me as to whether or not she had given me a specific shot! I did freak out!!! And was very out spoken!!! Scared the devil out of me to think I had to remember all that was going on! BUT HERE I AM!
Well speed read back trying to figure out what is going on with Sharon. I see where yesterday morning she said she had felt better, and I see where this morning they are headed down the interstate with Sissy driving and of course now I know they are in this crowded ER staritng and stopping antibiotics etc...guess I give up... must have missed the post stating why she is there today unless it was a scheduled vist posted some other day I have forgetten about which is certainly possible or I missed something in todays posts, which is very possible. I dont need all the info to pray for her anyway. Glad they are able to blog and stay in touch. Think I will fix some supper.
Glo, long story short....Sharon got the last drain remove on the 10th, next day, it turned red and hard.....UVA dod, told her to go to her doc in Bluefield, could not get in, saw PA last Friday. put her on antibiotics for probable MRSA infection...got worse over the weekend, had to go to ER last night, took CT, saw fluid buildup, gave her antibiotics and sent her home. to go to UVA today, not a scheduled appt.
Glo, Sharon has been battling infection in her incisional area for about a week...shortly after the last drain was removed. Her local docs put her on antibiotics, but she was to follow up w/ UVA.....think that she was getting worse....she felt feverish earlier in the week.
NEW REPORT ON LIBBY DAM EAGLES at Montana: Mark wrote me back and here is what he said: Are you ready for some good news! Thanks to the efforts of Libby Dam's Electrical Crew and ACE-IT (Army Corps Engineers Information Technology (Computer folks)) the eagle cam is back in business. As of today 18 February 2009 there was one adult in the nest (very good news). Thanks to everyone for making this happen, and look forward to hearing from everyone that is following our nest. Mark
February 22, 2008 - two adult eagles seen on the nest. March 19, 2008 - two eggs were spotted in the nest. April 27, 2008 - 2 eaglets seen in the nest. July 9, 2008 - 2 eaglets fledged from nest LIBBY DAM EAGLES OF MONTANA
OK Thanks Hedgie. I knew all about her going to her local Dr etc and bad weather kept them here instead of heading to UVA then. I guess if she had a scheduled appt to follow up at UVA I don't understand why she is in the Emergency Room waiting. Thought something else had happened while I was at work or sleeping and Sissy just put her in the car and took her there.
I surely hope someone does something soon for her. How exhasperating emotionally let alone physically stressful this must all be. argh!!!
Thanks for sharing some info guess it is that follow up then and for osme reason she is following up in ER there with whomever they decide will eventually see her. Hmmm
Your welcome Mema Jo. I have been trying to find information on Libby for awhile now. I decided to finally write to Mark. Glad I kept my bookmark (favorities) from last season. He is The Park Ranger there and is really excited the eagle cam has continued.
Wednesday, February 18 Yesterday Heather and I were able to collect current measurements on the ever-growing Xi Lan. Keep in mind that these results may be slightly off due to the wiggle factor, as it is hard to get exact measurements when the subject is in constant motion. His body length (from tip of nose to tail base) is 86 cm. (33.9 in.), tail length is 11 cm. (4.3 in.), neck girth is 33.5 cm. (13.2 in.), chest girth is 47 cm. (18.5 in.), belly is girth 51.5 cm. (20.3 in.) and nose pad width is 4 cm. (1.6 in.). He currently weighs 10.1 kg. (22.3 lbs.).
And here’s a little more information for you panda fans: current weights on the other pandas. Lun Lun’s weight is ranging between 103-113 kg. (227-248 lbs.), Yang Yang weighs between 126-138 kgs. (277-304 lbs.), and Mei Lan weighs between 69-74 kgs. (152-163 lbs.). So, you can see Xi Lan has a lot more growing to do over the next few years! Kate Roca Carnivore Keeper II
I had it drained without much complication. Now I will have to go through the process of wet-to-dry packing 3-4 times a day. That should prove to be lots of fun. They are admitting me for IV antibiotics but not sure for how long. We are finally in the solution.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't even get a pop-up screen:(
Thanks Wanda and Steve
Might as well repeat myself over here...
Is that an adult at BWO? Sure is kind of scruffy looking, he was just cleaning his beak on the side of the platform.
Best wishes for ALL good things this afternoon, especially for Sharon and GeeGee...and any and all others with wellness needs.
Short nap time, then tax time.
TTFN, friends xoxox ☺ ♥
Ok, lost the connection for a minute. Guess we should be grateful we have one at all, huh?
no pop-up, here...how's Gee-Gee?
Soaked, and Swaying, MITS...
Another bird just buzzed the platform at BWO, maybe one came in and another left ?
I see an adult at BWO
I'm pretty sure the first one was a juvenile, Mits, sure had a lot of unfinished coloring on it...
I'm waiting for the GeeGee report, nap can wait!

ok, sounds like party time at the ER....can I come:)?

You would think with 4000 doctors roaming around, stuff would get done faster, but that is not the case.
I know ya'll have sent me the link to the HI eagles but it is at home and I am not. Could someone please send it to me again?
welcome to the big University hospitals.....

Never heard of that, either, Mits. Will have to look for it....I have 2 SIL's who have too many laundry mistakes!!!
Hope that GeeGee prepared the mixed load as for darks, and not whites! Bleach is uncorrectable!
Thanks, Lynn, that makes me feel better. I'm thinking I should do more..but what? Never dreamed of this day coming. But I do know how much her independence means to her.
Wanda and Lynn you have mail.
I am back & I am catching up on ER ! lol
I felt well enough to get hair cut & then drive over to Wally's for gift wrapping and some browsing. I am so thankful I feel some energy in these old legs! Got caught in heavy rain coming home up the highway. It has all stopped now.
Our nest looks good!
Thanks for the new thread Steve.
Back from the vet...good news...Boo's ear has started draining again...from the time I left this morning til the time I got home....much improved! So, no surgery for now! Recheck in 2 weeks!

INDEPENCENCE
Booyah for Boo:)!
Wanda, we had the same deal with Mother. However, there was a time when we respected her wishes and we should NOT have. It took one of her grandson's who is a chiropractor to convince her she needed to be in the hospital.
Glad Sharon has been seen in the ER....love that ya'll are there blogging!
Our nest does look good, snow is gone.
I can get the still cam pop up, I don't use the live feed one...
My live feed is working...eagle just very still.
Good to see both GH owls in the hutch at Valmont!
I tried the live feed pop up...just a white empty box here too
Egg roll
The live Barn Owl news from Starr Ranch is that the First egg should hatch around Feb. 20.
they better keep her on IV's....did anyone actually look at her infected site, Sissy?
There is a crazy guy out here in the hall, talking about ladies of the evening and such.
Yeah, the ER doc looked at it but so far that is all.
hope he is not talking to you!!!!
Sissy, try this for H1:
H1
Hope it works.
Just so he ain't talking ABOUT me!! The nurses are ready to shoot him.
Sissy - is it just you and Sharon
Paula My live feed is up and head movement is there I don't think it is a repeating frame

Maine forum is thinking there are 3 eggs at NBG
ah, "the forum that never sleeps":)
Sure does Mema Jo. We are definitely connected to our peeps!
Im here too Jo, just put the 6 month to sleep and taking 5 for myself. the 4 and 3 year old are playing .My son has Brandon off on an adventure and I sent my dil off for the day to herself. I will only be here two more days and they both need a break.
Here's the most recent page from the forum. Check out the video and pics

This is singing My Girl now!!
I am kind of thinking that nobody knows I am here.
Anne Marie - you are a mother/granny to die for! You are being sooooooo good to everyone that I hope you take more then 5 for yourself when you get home!!! ♥
They have the beds in the hall numbered. So you know we are in trouble.
Wanda
Your report on GeeGee, is tender, sweet, touching. I do agree with your decision, about letting her have her wishes, and also think the ruse about "having a doctor's appointment" is a great one. What DOES the doctor think? All this may reverse itself if this is just something getting her system out of balance for a few days...
xo
I like the Color Shout idea, for days when I just don't care what goes into the washer !
Watch the video...it looks like 3 at NBG
Hedgie:
Sure glad you got out of computer prison! You can help fill in the gaps left by Norma's leave of absence
I'd say Shoebutton has the best pic to SUGGEST 3 eggs.
That does kinda look like 3 eggs to me. This drunk guy is starting to get belligerent. Security is in there now.
The NBG cam keeps freezing
WE KNOW YOU ARE IN THE ER HALLWAY
THEY WILL FIND YOU !
I'm confused, who is in the ER
Golly we are posting fast!
Hi Sharon and Sissy again... Just tell them you are Number One and they can forget the counting!
and everyone else, including:
Alyssa Anne-Marie ☺
Time for a next door neighbor lady visit. TTFN (afer I see that NBG video - maybe the intruder scared an egg out ! ) Thanks Paula...
There is no way these people can know who is here and what is going on. There are patients everywhere, students everywhere.
bbl
Anne-Marie, Sharon is at UVA, ER.
Evening Eagleland
That sure does look like 3 eggs at NBG.
Sharon and Sissy I sure hope they get to Sharon soon. Get those antibotics started!! Get it drained...GETTER DONE !!
Hi Anne Marie sounds like Brandon has had a wonderful time. You are such a great person!! ( :
Yes my NBG keeps freezing up also. It's not because I don't have enough memory in computer. It is the site.
Hopefully security will get rid of him &
then you will move up one number
YEAH !!!
I was thinking the same thing, Jo:)
I say three, also.
I don't have access to the NBG
chat room
Do you think that OK nest will have 4?
Sissy - If necessary create a commotion and maybe Security will put you up to the front of the line. Watch to see what they do with the drunk causing the disturbance...
Don't know what is more exhausting:
Seeing a 3rd egg at NBG
OR
Seeing the surgeon!!!!
I need to take a mental break from all this - it is just tooooooooo much!
Don't worry I won't go far!
I vote for the surgeon!!!!!
The general surgery consultant is here now. He said "Oh my God" when he saw her belly!!!!
EGG TURNING
BACK DOWN
Margy, I can type HO, but I sure can't measure up to our Norma!!!
I'm afraid to open any live cams...don't want to go back the "the box" again.
Hello everyone
NO STUFF, SHERLOCK, been that way for a over week!!!!!!
I like Magpie's idea, just say your number one.
hey Thelma, are you following the Life and Times of the Bluefield Sisters?
He says she will probably be admitted. He has gone to look at the CT and then he will talk to the attending. They are gonna drain it probably.
CO eagle egg is visible on their live cam
CO Both owls still in their hutch
Yeah MITS-I get an update in the Blogs Of Our Life.
Hornsby 1 cam Eagle in nest
moving the fluffy fluff.........
I would certainly hope that with her recent CT and just the fact that she is
a RETURNING PATIENT should get her in a room and OUT OF THAT ER HALLWAY!
HEDGIEYou said daughters have Skyway or something different than what you have. DO THEY GET PENILIZED LIKE YOU DO WITH HUGHSNET?
Hey T and Buddy
Hope I am on soon enough to Catch You Both! ☺
Hello Magpie
I think I am getting familiar with the T-Bird and Buddy Window...right about this time of day! Is Spring starting to show up "way down south?" Any flower sprouts or robins showing up?
You know Magpie, it's odd, I haven't spotted any Robins but the birds sure have been singing like it's spring.
Plenty of Mockingbirds-Bev's favorite. : )
How close are you to Roanoke, Thelma....? I have a sister there...
it is 200 miles almost exactly from here...
I'm a little over 30 minutes away from Roanoke.
Well, I guess now we are in hurry up and wait mode.
I love Mockingbirds! You can listen to a whole bunch of favorite birds with them...love to leave the window open at night, they sing all night in the summer, some say it is a nuisance, but I love it ! I'm still waiting on my first robin, but I know there are here somewhere! The other favorite thing, still a few weeks off: Spring Peepers!
I like Mockingbirds too.

Good Evening Eagle ♀ and ♂ People...hope it is a nice one, with good things happening...xo
Thanks, Jim. I posted that info just a short while ago...there are new pics up, def looks like 3 to me.
I got me a room at the Days Inn, so that is a good thing. Hope she doesn't have to stay too long. Poverty sux!!
I don't know what Belle is looking at Magpie. I wish we could hear.
Just checked Colo Eagle nest, egg exposed and bird not in sight....
NBG has just confirmed a 3rd egg at NBG - laid just after midnight on the 17th!!
Someone on the NBG forum captured the puffed up eagle on video...video is on NBG forum. Here's the link to DeeJay's youtube video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8SuOphJOQ8
Here is confirmation from DGIF
http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/eaglecam/
I just saw your comment, reporting the video, Paula.
I didn't believe it from the many still pictures that "miiiiiggght" show 3, but it definitely looks like there are 3 in that clip.
Don't know why the NBG site is lagging on the info though.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
PAULA, you have mail:)
NBG just really really wiggled onto those 3 eggs!
Well, the doc from general surgery just came and said they felt this issue was closer to the plastic surgery part, so they have consulted plastic surgery. If plastic surgery doesn't want to take care of me, then general surgery will admit me. YADAYADAYADA!!
Got it Mits! Thanks! ;)
Too bad it is not rich, good-looking men fighting over me.
they must think it is a tennis match, Sharon, didn't the surgeon take the drain out, he is the last one to touch you, balls in his court
takes for the videos and updates from NBG, Paula
News about the poisoned eagles - 4 were set free. The drug injected into the horse to euthanize it just made the eagles sleep for 2 days. A fifth eagle didn't survive the poison, and a sixth remained at PAWS for treatment of a broken leg that veterinarians figure it suffered before it ate the poison
aww..good news for some:)
Thanks for all the updates, Paula.
eagle at BWO, eating leftovers.
Talked to Ceil, she said to say Hello to everyone:)
eagle poofed at BWO
eagle came back at BWO
both eagles at CO, with egg in view
Oh Lord, these people are gonna make me bust out redneck before it is over!!!! Lord, somebody just needs to do something.
Thanks Paula glad there is an update on the 3rd egg at NBG on their DGIF page. Some things take time and re-view to make sure they seem 3. So here we go a 3 egg'er year!!!! Here a chick, there a chick, everywhere a chick chick chick.....
Fly in at NBG of course page froze then.

MOVE THEM FINGERS AND FEET AND PRORITY IS TAKING PLACE!!! WHAT'S THE PRORITY-----ME TELL THEM---NAME SHARON----MOVE ME TO A ROOM AND LET'S GET THE SHOW ON THE ROAD---SO I CAN GET OUT OF YOU ALLS HAIR!!!!
remember what I told you this a.m., Sissy, stay calm...:)
Guess you didn't bring an eagle cane, eh, Sissy?
No Paula, I don't have an eagle cane but I @##%%# sure need one!
just talked to Sharon briefly, they took away her antibiotics....what up with that????
I am going to go check in my room before it gets any later. BBIALW.
okie-dokie, Bev.
Prayers and direction for the drs. taking care of Sharon. With an angel staying beside Sissy.
And the hospital charges you about three times what you can buy the prescriptions for at a drug store.
I just saw the OK eggs and saw three.
Red, these were the hospitals' antibiotics, not Sharon's
well think they are past the time of having 4 now, hopefully.
3 pretty eggs showing our nest well not now
With a short panda nap & dinner
WHOA! I have a lot to catch up on!!!
Jo, you have mail!
I know they are to write things down but I had the unfortunate experience of a young nurse approaching my bedside and questioned me as to whether or not
she had given me a specific shot!
I did freak out!!! And was very
out spoken!!! Scared the devil out of me to think I had to remember all that was going on! BUT HERE I AM!
Got the mail, Helen!
Sent reply.
Buck is at Pix
MTBR.
Glo, Sharon has been battling infection in her incisional area for about a week...shortly after the last drain was removed. Her local docs put her on antibiotics, but she was to follow up w/ UVA.....think that she was getting worse....she felt feverish earlier in the week.
Paula, glad to hear that the ear started draining again!
NEW REPORT ON LIBBY DAM EAGLES at Montana: Mark wrote me back and here is what he said: Are you ready for some good news! Thanks to the efforts of
Libby Dam's Electrical Crew and ACE-IT (Army Corps Engineers
Information Technology (Computer folks)) the eagle cam is back
in business. As of today 18 February 2009 there was one adult in the nest
(very good news). Thanks to everyone for making this happen, and look forward
to hearing from everyone that is following our nest. Mark
Hope this works

LIBBY DAM EAGLES OF MONTANA
Thanks Dana
It works - I had misplaced my link from last year. The pop up is great!
Libby Dam Montana is 2 hrs behind us
OK Thanks Hedgie.
Eagle just flew into nest at LIBBY DAM both there now !!!
Looks like nestorations at Libby Dam
Atlanta update for Wednesday..
Wednesday, February 18
Yesterday Heather and I were able to collect current measurements on the ever-growing Xi Lan.

Sharon, called, they drained the fluid, she will be spending the night
I like the "wiggle factor" with Luney's measurements!
Be sure to watch the short video of his
Climbing Ability!

If that doesn't work - just go to the Panda Page for the Updates It is on
Tues
Red Tailed Hawk is in Portland.
WHOA! off to the fire escape!
Thanks Deb
That's good news on Sharon, Mits...thanks!
Can't believe Xi is almost 3 ft long!
Another report:
I had it drained without much complication. Now I will have to go through the process of wet-to-dry packing 3-4 times a day. That should prove to be lots of fun. They are admitting me for IV antibiotics but not sure for how long. We are finally in the solution.
Thanks for the update on Sharon and on Libby Dam. I have been waiting for those computer guys to get everything hooked back up.
One owl is out of the nest box, the other is looking out the opening.
Just watched NBG do an egg roll
I went to the bottom of the Hawk Cam & clicked on the eagle nest cam wondering where it was from and Yep! WVEC
Oh, and plastic surgery did the procedure and general surgery is admitting me.
That doesn't sound like fun, Sharon, but if that is the solution, I guess that is what you will have to do.
Red-tailed Hawk is gone already.
been waiting for the hawk all day.....Hi, Sharon, how was dinner:)?
did you buddy get taken care of? did security remove him from the ER?
belle is up
She's back down now...
Don't get left behind in the split!
The best news Sharon is that they now know you are THERE & won't leave without the correct solution!
Hope you enjoyed your Arby's!
Eventually you are going to realize how tired you are!
Sissy I hope you zonk out fast when you
go to your room!
Glad to see Sharon has received some care. Off to watch some TV and relax for a while.
Come back and pull me through if I miss the split! lol
hope you get some rest too, Sharon, it has been along last 24 hours, not to mention all you have gone thru the last 2 weeks.
