Was checking Hancock. Might go bonkers w/all the cams they have--one underwater of salmon, etc. Most eagle cams aren't up yet. They'll open Delta "when nest repairs take place"!

both eagles at CALTRAN

paula eagleholic said...

We understand, Steve!

Hornby nest was the second one I watched...sames year as NCTC cam came online - 2006 - they had cam on it last year, but they didn't have any eggs last year, as I recall.

You can get the link off the Hancock page if you ever misplace it.

Good Day to all; Well today is a
lot better than yesterday,lots of
sun and a little light wind. There
is a lot of high water at the new
eagles nest.I did go and check on
the older nest and it is ok and i
think they have an egg because one
was on the nest when i got there
and when the other flew to the nest
they exchanged places.Than the female flew off for about 20min.
and when she returned they traded
places once again.the temp. is
around 40.I hope they will be ok
sitting on eggs this early,they
didn't sit until the 19 of feb.last
year.I will post more photos.on the
new nest Blog and the winter with
the eagles Blog.

paula eagleholic said...

Guess the wind hasn't hit Maine, yet.

paula eagleholic said...

Time for a second egg at NBG coming up

paula eagleholic said...

Should be today or tomorrow.

Mits said...

Caltran and OK laid their 2nd eggs 3 days ago too

paula eagleholic said...

Ah yes...egg day!

Keep your eyes peeled, folks!

Just saw Belle calling out, now she looks like rolling eggs.

paula eagleholic said...

Might be fighting the wind some...

Sticks have blown onto Belle's back

Anne-Marie said...

Hi Sharon , I havent seen you on line for a long time.. How wonderful....
Hi Paula and Jim... Its cold......

paula eagleholic said...

Another egg roll.

Not sure if Belle is warm today or calling out, or both. Seems to have an open beak a lot today.

Anne-Marie said...

Got to get back to work. I have a grocery delivery coming and I need to straighten the kitchen up or there will be no room. Have a great day everyone. Hugs..

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Darn power goes out just long enough to mess up the computer and all the clocks!! The city park in Bluefield looks like a tornado ripped through it. Trees everywhere.

Mits said...

eagle back at H2

NatureNut said...

Finally got NBG to open--egg alone, blowing in the wind. They do that a lot, don't they?
OK adult sitting & rearranging furniture around bowl. ☺

floralgirl said...

Wow- I have had just about enough of this wind today. Still gusting like crazy- went into the battlefield to see “Abraham Lincoln: Self-Made in America” Bicentennial Tour, a mobile museum exhibit developed by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum- interesting exhibit in 53foot long, double expandable trailer that is touring the country- unfortunately only here for one day.

NatureNut said...

Good, adult back at NBG.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Was just sitting here working thinking about fussing about the power flickering on and off. I should be grateful it is just flickering. I could be sitting here getting cold!!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I hadn't been able to get the NBG cam up all day till just now. Makes me drunk to watch it!!

floralgirl said...

That cam makes me seasick....

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

2 at NBG, 2 at HI2, 1 at BWO, and 1 at NCTC. That is about all I have room for, except for pandas of course.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Wow, that is so cool at HI2.

Red said...

I think BRS will make it to Houston before 5 PM. If they will only let him unload.

paula eagleholic said...

Sounds like a cool exhibit, Megan!

Live feed still down.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Looks like is just about there, Red.

T-Bird said...

hello everyone

T-Bird said...

how have our eagles been today?

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

There's birds everywhere Thelma. No live feed at our nest, just still cam.

T-Bird said...

What do you mean there's birds everywhere? How are the winds in bluefield?

T-Bird said...

It sure would be awful if something happened to Belle or Lib!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Eagles, eagles everywhere!! It is very windy here in Bluefield. Zillion trees down at the city park when me and Buddy went for a walk. I thought the wind was gonna make a kite out of him.

T-Bird said...

I've got siding coming off of the house.

T-Bird said...

I'm surprised the wind didn't blow little Buddy away.

paula eagleholic said...

They seem to be fine today, Tbird. Good to see ya!

T-Bird said...

Good to see you too Paula!!

Mema Jo said...

I FOUND YOU BUDDIES!

Has the LW site opened today for anyone?

Sharon I am happy to see you on here.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Mattie has her Valentine Dance at school tonight. She is so excited.

Mema Jo said...

I am not sure what that OPEN MOUTH
means... Don't think our eagle is too
warm... Wouldn't it be great to hear it.

T-Bird said...

It sure would be nice to hear Lib and Belle!

Mits said...

has not opened for me all day, Jo

Mema Jo said...

I am reading a message SUZ sent before she left work:
I'm outta here until Tuesday. I don't do Friday the 13ths, and Monday is a holiday. A 4-day weekend, how cool is that! Talk at you Tuesday. Stay safe and don't get blown away!
Suz

Mema Jo said...

SISSY Be sure tomorrow to check your emails for birthday cards to Mattie for her 11th

Mits said...

Sharon should check too.....

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Thelma, have you seen the eagle cam at Hornby Island? Deb put a link up earlier. It is a great site!

T-Bird said...

No I haven't Bev. I'll look for it.

Mema Jo said...

Hi T-Bird! Got it right this time since I wasn't thinking of Buddy and said T-Bone!

Hope all is well with you.. The wind will play havoc with house siding...
Hope it's not too extensive........

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I don't know how to do that stuff or I would put it there again. I am technically challenged in that dept.

deb said...

I am home and having cam problems. I finally got OK to open. I can't get NBG open, but sounds like I wouldn't want to watch it anyway.

I saw 17 eagles today. I am looking at pictures now, but I didn't take very many. When I saw the eagles that were close for photo ops, I only had about 10 minutes to watch, darn hair cut.

T-Bird said...

Hi Mema Jo-I'm glad I'm not a T-Bone today. : )

paula eagleholic said...

Mits said...

Thelma, sent you the links to the hornby island cams

deb said...

Mits, was the HH osprey in the nest all day, if you were watching?

Mits said...

every time I looked , Deb, it was there

deb said...

I hope that means an egg is coming, it is just about sunset there right now.

Mits said...

I know looks pretty on the nest

Mits said...

who are what is on the Pix cam??

Mits said...

eggs in view at CALTRAN

deb said...

I don't know what that is at Pix PA. Weird looking, so they move??

Mits said...

DEB, you have mail.

T-Bird said...

I hope everyone has a good evening. Stay safe!

Mits said...

thought it was a person at first, but maybe the more I stare at it, could be a big branch with leaves on it blowing in the wind

Mits said...

than I look back after awhile and it looks real

Mits said...

here come the racoons at Pix

deb said...

My first guess was a person dressed up as something, here comes the raccoons, oops they don't know about the strange things either.

T-Bird said...

thanks MITS for the link : )

deb said...

Maybe they are putting up a display like the Snowman Cam??

Mits said...

it reminds me of the goose at the snowman cam....but it has not been there before tonight, looks like it has a cape on, thought it was a duck dressed up....maybe I need to eat

Mits said...

:), Deb, we are thinking the same thing

Mits said...

we are going to lobo in the morning, when we see it is just a branch

deb said...

Great minds, think alike!!

deb said...

You are probably right. Get a picture for me. I am off tomorrow at 5:45 AM to find some male Prairie Chickens by Creighton, NE. We hope they are doing their spring mating displays. I must be nuts!!

deb said...

Where are my manners, Please, get a picture for me.

Mits said...

I sent a pic to Margy too, she may figure it out.....you are not nuts, think that is great to see so many wonderful sites

Mits said...

lol....no problem

deb said...

My Hornby cams are not in synch with each other, are yours? Eagles come to Cam 2 before Cam 1 by at least a couple of minutes.

Mits said...

I also am thinking, there might be something dead in the middle of the pic, it has been there for hours, thought it was a gh earlier

Mits said...

the raccoons are sniffing around it...might turn pix off for now

deb said...

She went to work early today, must not mean she gets off early.

deb said...

Coons are gone again.

Mits said...

think once they get her in there she just works her regular shift too then, she will be tired...eagles on H2 but not H1 for me right now

deb said...

Eagles just left H1 for me, both empty right now.

NatureNut said...

Saw mention on the Hornby Chat that the cams seemed to be several minutes apart.
Closed evcerything down earlier & when I came back couldn't get WVEC to open anymore. Godd luck on your chicken hunting, Deb! ☺

deb said...

Tonight is my TV night, first night of Survivor, then Grey's and Private Practice. I need to get some stuff done, bbl.

Costume Lady said...

Deb, those are my shows for tonight, too. I'm anxious for Survivor to get started again...I always miss it when it goes off for the season.

Costume Lady said...

I heard that we had 72 mph winds and one point today. That's almost Hurricane winds! It is still blowing very fiercely. Our electricity went out twice last night.

NatureNut said...

Pix PA did a closeup of raccoon at dead thing. Looks brown & white furry. Don't know what it is--goat size maybe. Saved a pic,but won't post & gross everybody out.

Eagle in a Windy Nest at West End.

Hi Everyone, still reading posts, just got caught up to new thread

Was worried about the dangerous winds everywhere, know it was a huge disappointment that the Lunch Bunch could not get together, but at least, all were safe....

Back in a few minutes

magpie said...

Too kooky - got to the very last post and everything froze up, clicked on down arrow to continue, all the comments got highlighted in black and started scrolling on their own. Amazing any of us has internet with the high winds !

magpie said...

Just before I had to bail out of here this morning, the live cam was still up so I guess it went down between my last post around 4:15 and when Megan tried to open up at 5 am. I can't get LW and some of the other sites so I am not going to press my luck

Belle looks like a little black and white hamster on the nest

magpie said...

About Pix: All those crazy branches and things moved in shortly after midnight I think.
The lump in the middle: I kept thinking it looked like a little kid on her knees with her face to the ground! Now it looks like some kind of chair cushion! The big branchy thing on the right reminds me of something in costume!
And if they never show the deer carcass again I would be very pleased ! Bleahhh !

magpie said...

I emailed PIX about two weeks ago with a picture of The Thing, and they replied back that it was a carcass at one of the cams. I should have written back and said Thanks but No Thanks!

We were sooooooo busy at work, trees down on power lines, roofs of some smaller buildings blown off, traffic lights all twisted up and turned the wrong ways. Three big brush fires from power lines coming down, roadways blocked. Thankfully, there were no serious injures anywhere....wind is still howling...I can't stand that.

I am glad to hear that most on here have made it through okay....sorry about T-Bone's siding...no way to corral Mother Nature when these things happen.

West Virginia was hit the hardest of the four state area for power outages....Pa, Md, Va and WV..some statistic....

magpie said...

School buses had some tricky roads to negotiate...
roofing shingles at our office building got all bunched up and some blew off, and some here at the apartment apparently did the same thing.

Well, I am all blown out now....

Glad to see that Sharon is mending....keep up the Good Work Sharon !
xo

magpie said...

Deb I don't think you are crazy! I would love to go on the Prairie Chicken watch in the morning.... ☺

magpie said...

Didn't see any Norma on here today....she might have been in a hard-hit area I think....

:(

magpie said...

Thing way over on the right at PIX reminds me of Goosey Loosey from Snowman cam..I think I remember reading another comment about that a few dozen dozen posts back...maybe Loretta...

TTFN - just want to plop and do nothing...
xo

magpie said...

Some fuzzy thing lurking at Pix PA.
Raccoon Cat probably

magpie said...

Oh Poop - now the carcass site with a raccoon.....
:(

magpie said...

Valmont Owl eggs untended right now

NatureNut said...

At PA Pix they have current photo button under cam. Showed a dead deer--earlier pics had hawk there. Can't be positive it is the same cam site, but would guess so. Maybe they want a bear.

NatureNut said...

Every time I look at Still Cam, looks like our bird is a skunk w/horizontal stripe!I think the head is tucked in & we're seeing the white neck feathers... Or a Hampshire hog LOL

Mema Jo said...

Returned empty handed - need to go to the Hagerstown Store for the item.
I'll do that tomorrow.

Looking at the %#^& PIX YUCK
One of the remote cameras now has a carcass on it. Some of you may have seen this already. The past few nights it has been very active as the weather has warmed up. Here are some photos of critters on the carcass in the last 24 hours. They include coons, red fox, crows, and much more. Check out the webcam at night to see the action.

magpie said...

Thanks, Jo, I think I will pass....

ValMont Momma Owl is back on her eggs now.

there is a possum and I don't know what else at Pix Pa - the regular site that is....

floralgirl said...

Yeah, the carcass is gross, but at least it's not in color...

magpie said...

On the Pix Site, I did check out the next to the last one on the right on the bottom, pretty cool views of those animals...not sure I see where some of those "Related Videos" fit in... (i.e. "Girl Tied Up" ???)

Time to drown some bubbles....
TTFN

Mema Jo said...

I think there is a power outage of 5000+ residents in Berkley County. I guess that affects Lynn in Hedgesville. My gd is spending the night in Big Pool with the 3 children at my daughters' - Allegheny Power told them that on Saturday everything should be fixed!

magpie said...

Possum is at the carcass now...
that fresh feed at the other site has GOT to be better than that poor old animal. JMHO

Hope everyone can stay out of the wind tonight....really hope that all is well everywhere...

thousands of people are without power in the surrounding areas

floralgirl said...

Yikes, that is awful, I feel so lucky to have power, been fretting all day it would go off. Wind is still gusting, I can hear some of the shingles on my foof flapping...

Mema Jo said...

I see all the opossums and raccoons but
I have no clue what the 2 objects are
back on the log
I guess that is a tree limb towards the
foreground. Think I am putting it
down until daylight!

paula eagleholic said...

I am running some more scans...don't think the computer bug is quite gone yet.

My NBG went down this afternoon, too. Is it back on?

Glad I haven't seen that carcass at pix!

paula eagleholic said...

My electric has blinked a lot...I'm happy it's still on, too!

Mits said...

Paula, you did not go to Mount game.

Mits said...

eagle at CALTRAN was doing the push the eggs to the back of the cup, I still only see 2, but cam will be going off soon

Mits said...

I guess here we have lucked out, so far, strong winds, but lights have not flickered

Mits said...

Paula, I was reading the other day, that the MD State Legislature, has banned Facebook, seems the delegates were on it all the time instead of working, and it was causing major virus problems....tha they now have to clean them up....I don't even know what facebook is all about but when someone sends it to me it is deleted

Mits said...

lol...Belle does look like a guinea pig on the still cam

floralgirl said...

I haven't had any issues with facebook, just a lot of tracking cookies, but I have gotten in the habit of cleaning my cookies out every night, so that helps. So far I have had no virus issues.

Mema Jo said...

I read that the MD State Legislature has ok'd Facebook & My Space until which time a virus comes thru & gives them trouble again.........

I still think they should be doing the job we are paying them to do, as others had noted when news of this came out, that they were fired from their jobs, same thing could have happened to Suzanne, for being on the blog.

paula eagleholic said...

No, I didn't go to the Mount game tonight.

I'm sure I got the malware off of Facebook...I might have to rethink that one...

We have already banned myspace at one of our work places...that place is full of viruses.

I find it best to run a couple of antispy programs - three's not one out there that can catch everything...

The second one I am running right now found 3 others the first program missed!

Mits said...

Update
Facebook sent out the following statement regarding the Maryland Facebook ban: “We’re honored by how vigorously the Senators, Delegates and staff of the Maryland General Assembly fought to maintain their access to Facebook. It is a clear validation that Facebook has become an important tool for government officials and agencies, enabling them to better communicate with and serve their constituents.”

They could do this just as easy with e-mails that they ignore, or send you back the from acknowledgement

Mits said...

CALTRAN off for the night.

paula eagleholic said...

I agree, MD legislators shouldn't be on Facebook and myspace.

Mits, they are both social networking sites.

Mits said...

yeah, well these delegates do most of their social-networking in the bars of Annapolis.....jubby and son went to the game, Paula

Mits said...

Gonna watch ER--have been missing it & understand they've had lots of form,er actors on.

Mits said...

yeah, meant that....Greys' then PP

paula eagleholic said...

That's OK Mits, Half of Grey's is PP

magpie said...

don't look now, Paula... the carcass site has three visiting raccoons so it might be popping up now and again for a little while :(

magpie said...

magpie said...

Aaarrrgh missed another change in position...

Valmont Owl Dad just brought in dinner

magpie said...

Mother Owl was doing some interesting wing and tail things, stretching and rocking....also looks like a slice of the view on the right is not quite normal, had almost a mirror image when the owl was stretching and moving.
Dinner was a mouse. The Dad perched on a bar just outside the top corner of the box then he flew off

deb said...

Margy, I think that is a reflection on the inside of the box, only thing I have come up with.

Mary just called and we are now leaving Yankton at 6, so that moves me up to 4:45. Maybe I can do 5, I won't be hungry that early in the morning.

Just wanted to stop in and say Thanks to all who offered some help and gave me feedback on the first set of 10 photos in Glo's Glimpses. I have saved all your comments and have the right amount of checks by the various numbers.

It is very helpful to me..in fact I do think I know one for sure that I will enter now.

I will post the next set sometime late tomorrow. It will probably be in your Feed on Sat morning. I work the overnightFri. so will get that done beforre I leave for work.

If you haven't participated and have a few minutes to give your suggestions, comments etc I would love to hear from you. Many had trouble choosing out of 10 which is exactly my dilemna of trying to choose out of 50 plus or so. Seeing them through your eyes does help me think about the photos as they look to others.

So many incidents of all kinds around here. Battery-TV didn't last long, and not enough extra batts...boo...Martinsburg had gusts to 712 (hurricane strength!)--highest in area.
