I think I am going to go buy me some long johns too "Not the doughnuts" Weather here is going to get brutal over the next few days. Gonna make standing outside with a camera pretty cold and short lived actually because of the sake of the camera.

Norma it was great. Could not help the weather. Amtrak has a lot of great people. Oregon was wonderful. Went to see the zoo lights and saw their new elephant that was born in August. Cute little fellow. We went so many other great places once we got out of the house.
Good morning Ladies! I got on just in time to see all the house building. Wasn't that cool?!!! I mean they were moving logs!! And, I loved how they messed with that one until they got it right, then switched places and in comes another log! And, the color! WOW!
I had sound durning the building. Can not tell now, no wind. I did notice that when there was sound, like people, dogs, or an airplane, they would stop their work and listen.
MORNIN' NATURENUT!!---SUZANNE says hello to everyone!!---she misses us very much!----Told her we miss her more!---ho!---We are a loving bunch---aren't we?---AND THAT IS A GOOD THING!!!!!
I also had another treat this morning. I was at my kitchen window and there were two Mocking birds doing a mating dance. They were on the ground, dancing around each other, jumping up about 8 inches, and occasionally literally rolling on the ground in a ball.
Good morning, it is beautiful out here right now. The winds are supposed to hit around noon. Wind gusts in Rapid City are 70 mph, but luckily won't be that strong here. I am just about done packing, just need to make sure I haven't forgotten anything, like my flipflops!
Hi Lolly! We may be coming to TX first of April. Bluebonnet season & King Tut exhibit will be in Dallas. 4 hours away, so we could spend the night there & daughter wants Fubby to see LBJ ranch & library. He worked for him for awhile at the Senate. We've driven by the ranch, but didn't go in to library.
Good morning NN!! Yes, we are going to see the King Tut exhibit. Laurel has already been and will be going again taking her class. Michael as also been to see it. We will go soon.
Hope the bluebonnets are beautiful this year, just for you!
I leave at 7 AM tomorrow for CA, so flying shouldn't be a problem. It is the driving to Omaha that could be the problem. We changed our plans and will leave this afternoon instead of driving down in the morning. That gives us plenty of time to get there. As we go south it is supposed to get better.
Good morning, Lolly, Loretta, Megan and Deb. Just checking back in before I leave to do errands. Deb have a great trip. Loved your pictures. Good day to everyone.
Morning all from snowy PA. We got about a foot of that white stuff this weekend.
Saw the long visit at our nest a while ago. That one stick was giving someone fits.
Lolly, I love your avitar. I lived for over 40 years in the Houston area. All of my household belongings are still there in storage, so I may move back there someday Yes, Nature Nut, April is the right time for the bluebonnets in the hill country (around Austin towards Brenham)

Monday, January 12 The temperatures have started to drop here in Atlanta, making it feel more like winter. Along with this change in season, we are beginning to see the start of breeding season behaviors in Yang Yang. Over the last week we have seen a small increase in his activity, including walking around his habitat and more frequent scent markings. In the wild, both of these behaviors would help him locate and notify females near his home range that he is around and ready when needed. These behaviors also advertise his presence to other males with which he would compete for access to cycling females. Yang Yang does not yet know that this year he will not have the opportunity to mate, because Lun Lun will not cycle while she is nursing Xi Lan.
Mei Lan is also enjoying the cooler weather and continues to peel and eat both rivercane and yellow groove bamboo. Lun Lun is still spending her time indoors in the off exhibit dens and dayrooms, because Xi Lan is still a little small to negotiate the outdoor habitats. Xi Lan will spend all day on exhibit only if Lun Lun leaves him in the hammock, otherwise he still prefers the off exhibit dens. His motor skills have definitely improved and he seems to enjoy short bouts of wandering around the dens checking out his area. Kate Roca Carnivore Keeper II

Watching from the cam pages- I have JAVA- using JAVA site yp check for it-I know I have it, maybe there is a problem with it- I have issues with the Caltrans cam, NBG, Maine, etc..
Megan - if you shrink all open windows, and right click on your desktop (not on a shortcut)and choose properties, settings, advanced, it gives you info about your monitor..go to troubleshooting...try changing hardware acceleration to either full or none
Also, you can click on troubleshoot to reinstall the driver...you have to skip the first set of questions to get to that section
Well, I set my hardware acceleration(whatever that is) from full to none- and voila! no more jumpy screen when I open the NBG or Maine cam- thanks, Paula:) I owe you- please send me your IT bill. thanks to you too, Red for your help.
They sure are building up the nest- my monitor issue has been solved...this blog will now return to it's regurlarly scheduled program..thank you, you guys:)

Hello Eagle ♀ and ♂ People.
Megam: Love that new avatar! Jumped right off the page when I saw it...
If there was an avatar for "Clumsy" I would probably use it sometimes...
So good to hear about OUR Birds on the nest, maybe I will luck out and see the next visit.
Happy Trails, Deb. We will miss you.
xo
Didn't intend to give you a new name, MEGAN - sorry,
fingers are all cracked up and sore from the weather...:(
Norfolk cam is up for me...don't see any birds yet. Hear people talking at the Maine Nest...
Back! Read the paper and did the morning sudoku puzzle.
Morning Jo! I got on early this morning, well early for me and thoroughly enjoyed the morning house building. Belle and Lib were moving logs!!

Good morning Margy. Hope you do get the next visit. You missed a good one this morning. They were up close and working on those trees you see in the bottom left of the nest. You could really hear too.
Good morning all. Cold, gray...we've had some flurries, too. Good to see so many of you this am!
That sure is a big log in the "fort", isn't it??
Deb, hope the Omaha drive isn't too bad for you this afternoon. Have a great time!
SIL here w/ his mom's BIL delivering/stacking wood...making lots of noise about it! Sure didn't want to run low with the wickedly cold temps coming the next few days!
Gotta move truck out of garage so they can put Christmas tree on shelf.
Drs. apptmt. this afternoon, so gotta get ready for that, too.
HAve a nice day. See you later!
Norma, we do enjoy milder winters but we like the cooler weather. If it gets too warm the trees start to bud out and then...whoops! along comes another freeze and kills the buds. Then the fruit trees suffer. :(
Just finished emails...
Opened Moose cam and Pook has new posting about: Alfalfa Returns
with his antlers still in tact.
He is on the cam now - beautiful
Hi Margy, don't worry, I've been called worse. See, my mood has gone from grumpy to grouchy...not sure if that's progress-
Hello Jim and Hedgie
I have some wind sounds from our cam now.. but it didn't last very long.
Hi Lynn, Bye Lynn:)
That moose is beautiful...
I think it is a definite improvement, Megan;)
Well thanks:)
he is beautiful.
I wish I had moose instead of deer, but hubby says, no way, they would wreak havoc in my gardens..
Well!!! Something ate my last blog!!
Been listening to the Maine cam. You can almost understand the men talking. Funny!
MORNIN' HEDGIE!---Sounds like you have great relatives!!---Isn't it wonderful to have help--now just sit back & let them help you----good wishes--Dr.today---
Lolly - they sound like lumberjacks at Maine!
Megan, favorite book from when daughter was a kid, "How to be a Grouch" by Oscar the Grouch...
Page One:
"First of all, if you want to be a Grouch, you have to stop being so NICE and CUTE ! "
xo ☺ ♥
Now you hear chopping on the Maine cam. Wondering what they are doing????
Moose cam is wonderful, pictures are magnificent....We're lucky to have that one! ☺
Hey Margy...think we had the same idea. However, they are talking more than they are working!
Don't see any action at the IWS sites, but Seal Rocks looks better this morning...empty, but there is some pretty green stuff in the nest.
I loved Sesame Street as a kid, and my daughter learned so much from that show- when she was little, we took her to Sesame Place in PA., and she was awed by the characters walking around, at that age, she believed they were real..
Maggie loves....MELMO....that is what she calls him...cracks me up:)
One more, Megan:
"Remember these things that a Grouch Can't Stand:
Friendly puppy dogs, Pretty flowers, Cuddly kittens, and Mushy Mail."
But I sure do like Oscar better than Grumpy !
xo ☺
Aw- that is so cute, I think we have at least 3 Elmo dolls in daughter's closet-one is so ragged-he got a lot of lovin'..
LOLLY---I have tried twice to get sound on ME site!!---Maybe tomorrow!!----I have so much paper work here---I think I need an asst!
ho!---I just need to get off computer & keep up!!---naaw!
I agree, Sesame Street is Tops...
Melmo ! That's Great, MITS.
Hear Eagles calling at Maine, I think it is Maine, would rather it be NCTC -
Got to get some stuff done, but will be Watching OUR NEST.
Good Day to Everyone, even if it is MONDAY.
xo TTFN
As much as I would love to sit here all day, I really think I should get up and start moving. Need to buy some groceries. Jack, for some reason, wants to continue eating. I'm just trying to save us money!
Have a great day! BBL
Have you all noticed----When WEATHER PEOPLE are giving us news about the BAD weather --- they have a kinda smile on their faces!!
Time!---later!
they are sadistic people:):):)
That's cause they know they are probably wrong....
tee hee, Megan:)
At least I haven't lost my twisted sense of humor-although that may not be a good thing....
I look forward to your twisted sense of humor:), makes me LOL!
ME TOO, MEGAN

Our new little dog is wanting to play but he just ain't sure how to go about it. He is still intimidated by everything but not as bad. He is definitely feeling better. It is so cool to watch him "come into his own".
good for you, Megan:)
EAGLE AT NBG
BOTH ARE THERE:)
one on branch, one in nest eating
I am back from Yankton, drive over wasn't fun, but it quit snowing, so the drive back wasn't bad. Now I am just waiting on my sister and we will be off to Omaha.
Bon Voyage, Deb. xo ♥
Have a great trip, Deb!!
Thanks for the Norfolk news, folks.
They Look Great !
Good news, Megan... Takes a lot of hard work but sounds like you've got your Act together ! I'd be both Grumpy and Grouchy with all that you are dealing with....that twisted sense of humor will get you through !
xo ☺
Have fun Deb. Be safe!!
Wish I could figure out why my computer can't handle the NBG cam, I can't watch it.
Megan, I know I had to add something, maybe ActiveX controls but I can't remember which it was...someone on here with Way More Experience will probably walk you through it....
As long as you get NCTC, everything else pales by comparison anyway.... ☺ ☺ ☺
One eagle at BWE
Hmmm....... not sure, all I know is when I try to watch NBG or Maine cam, my screen pic jumps all around- was thinking it is a monitor issue...
Yeah, that would drive me CRAZY and I would not watch it either...
Sissy:
That is one lucky dog, surrounded by many Blessings....☺ ♥
* Perfectly beautiful turkeys at Pix PA *
I'm looking for beards but don't see any yet.
with all that hollering at Maine, don't think we are going to see any Eagles for awhile !

I am signing off, thanks for all the safe travel wishes.
Okay - Deb...Sayonara...
xo ☺ ♥ Have a Sparkly Time !
safe travels, Deb:)
Megan, you could need JAVA. You can download it free.
JAVA
Megan - NBG and Maine - are you watching it from the cam page or your WMP
Watching from the cam pages- I have JAVA- using JAVA site yp check for it-I know I have it, maybe there is a problem with it- I have issues with the Caltrans cam, NBG, Maine, etc..
Site says I have the recommended JAVA-Version 6 Update 11.
Megan - do you have IE 6
You could install it again. Won't hurt anything and it might fix a corrupted file.
Megan - copy and paste the following into your WMP...file, open url...it is the PH nest...wondering if screen jumps w/ WMP or just IE
http://media1.vcoe.org/eaglecam1
Ummm..I don't know- where do I find that info?
Screen still jumps around thru WMP- hard to explain-like I get several images of the page all over the screen-jumpy...
Ok, I have windows XP- version 5.1
That does kinda sound like a monitor sync problem. Is it an old monitor with some controls on the back?
Or behind a little panel on the front?
Has buttons on the side- not more than 5 yrs. old-
Megan, if you go to the top of this page, click on "help", then on "about internet explorer", it will tell you what version of IE you are using.
Found that, thanks Sharon:)
Megan, are you still on Dial up?
Thank goodness- NO dial up here.
Is your monitor a flat screen or the old tube type?
You can also change the "screen area"...try more or less pixels on your screen.
Well, I set my hardware acceleration(whatever that is) from full to none- and voila! no more jumpy screen when I open the NBG or Maine cam- thanks, Paula:) I owe you- please send me your IT bill.
thanks to you too, Red for your help.
Flat screen monitor- and hey, there's an eagle at NBG!!
Eagle alert!!!
Nice branch brought in!!
Glad that worked for you, Megan!
I didn't think you could see NBG cam.
My feed is choppy...darn...some good action in the nest.
They sure are building up the nest- my monitor issue has been solved...this blog will now return to it's regurlarly scheduled program..thank you, you guys:)
Sorry, I missed where you said Paula fixed it. Way to go Paula.
Nice mid afternoon visit!!
I can see it now, Red!
