I looked at the radar, Suzanne, it doesn't show rain at BW, but maybe its like yesterday, a fine mist of rain that doesn't really show up on the radar.

My live feed is gone!!! AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

floralgirl said...

Dave, I was looking through your Indiana woldlife pics, how do you find those owl nests? Those are beautiful shots. I gotta take a walk throught my woods and look at the hollow trees.

BW kids are scooting around too. Our chicks, think the biggest is awake and pecking middle. Baby is still sleeping, looks like.
Scottish ospreys just mated again, on his branch.

Hey floralgirl;I watched the owls
for some time and saw the tree that
they flew to and the top had been
blown out in a storm and that is
where they nested.The photos were
taken from about 30 yds.away and
i only went to the nest tree once
a week as not to disturb them.

NEGAN, be careful of the hollow trees. The last time I looked into a hollow tree, there was a snake in it!

Good grief, probably a good thing I can't get RealPlayer. We'd need 3 new threads for today... and that's just while I'm at work! hahah

Phew!

Suzanne said...

One osprey in Hilton Head, but no new eggs yet.

floralgirl said...

Oh, I did Dave, they are great pictures.

Athenaa said...

Howdee everybody!! Looks like our babies are doing very well. I haven't had much time to check in but it looks like the kids are really growing!

Athenaa said...

It also looks like the osprey at BW can't make up their mind whether to use the nest or not. Mah BW babies seem to be growing too...even though there hasn't been an overabundance of food.

Athenaa said...

Sniff sniff...is that bacon I smell??

normabyrd said...

WOW MEGAN!---I can smell ATHENAA'S bacon here too!---Guess we will all need to show up at ATHENAA'S house if we want BACON!! ho!

Suzanne said...

Something must be bothering the Scottish ospreys! One in the nest has wings out flapping, one on branch also flapped wings, and is now in the nest with the other one. Female was on branch, male in nest. She's now laying down, he's standing there with wings out. both looking at the sky.

Suzanne said...

Danger must be past, he just took off. No, just came back to mate yet again, and THEN leave.

MITS said...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE I guess I'm on the right thread...off to be with the M&M girls today...talk to you later....my cam, as usual keeps freezing, and STILL can't get in to the 30 SECOND CAM.

Good morning, everyone. I think there is a crack in the last egg at CO! I need another look. Sun is coming up at Kent and there is an eagle on Cam 1.

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' DEB!!---I was most sure an EAGLE was on 1st cam!---Could see the silhouette in the dark!!

deb said...

Morning, Norma. When I closed Kent down last night, the eagle wasn't there. It was almost dark and I didn't think anyone would come back. Poor Oregon nest is covered in snow again.

glo said...

Good morning everyone. Hope the day holds some great eagle/eaglet viewing especially right here at NCTC.

Lolly said...

Oh, how cute! CO babies are pecking at each other and they are so little! Family affair both adults there.

Oh, Good morning everyone! I was just so excited about Co!

Lolly said...

Well, of course, I could not type fast enough. Can not see them now, but they were sooo cute. I think one may be related to Pecking Pearl1 ha!

Did not get on yesterday, but I was lurking. My gardens call me this time of year and I have to be outside!!!!

movin said...

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE.

Parent at BWE....hope she brought a snack!!

Lolly said...

Oh, thank you! We jokingly call our home Hawkwood Gardens! (We had Red Shouldered hawks nest in one of our oak trees for three years.) I just love working in the yard. We are on one acre and I have it all lawn and gardens. It will kill me some day!

Lolly said...

Such sleepy heads! Belle has really been busy doing nestorations. She disturbed the babes a little, but they just flop back over and go back to sleep.

Bob Quinn said...

Morning all!

Finished processing Saturday's photos last night. There's a bunch.

Saturday's photos

All of them except the first four were taken from about a 50 yard stretch on the wildlife drive near the osprey cam platform.

Suzanne said...

Hi all. Back, and saw your post, Bob. Had to check your pics. Awesome as always. Nice to see the osprey back!
Was that first pic our nesting pair? Did you take fish and leave it at the bottom of their nest? They need a little help. But seems they are doing a tad better, which I'm very glad to say!
Helen, enjoy the M&M girls, you should have a good time!

Costume Lady said...

THANK YOU, BOB, FOR ALLOWING US A PEEK AT YOUR WEEKEND PHOTOS. They are wonderful, as usual. You must be really pleased with your new camera!

Suzanne said...

Seems a BW parent has a fish, and have seen them take a big bite, but have yet to see them give a bite to the babies.

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING JO, NORMA, DEB AND ATHENAA...
Athenaa, I'll bet the Azaelas are beautiful down there now...or is it a little too early? I can recall in years past, watching the Masters, the flowers were absolutly breathtaking.

Suzanne said...

One BW chick has made it over to leftovers, and I swear trying to take a bite! Sure hope they learn to feed themselves soon. Then hope parent keeps bringing food and leaving leftovers!

Suzanne said...

One chick seems to have the hang of it, parent is supervising. Other baby is just laying there. Need to get him over to that fish!

Suzanne said...

Well, the one BW chick has moved over to leftovers, eaten some herself, and has now taken possession. Has the fish head right in front of her. Hope she shares with the other one. Parent still there supervising.

paula eagleholic said...

MOrning, all.

Cam down here as well, 30 second is plugging away.

Bob is the eagle's nest on the cam?

paula eagleholic said...

Oh and Bob, very cool pics of the osprey fishing!

Thanks for checking for us, STEVE. Some of us are having nervous break-downs. Hope it can be straighten out soon enough to save us from ourselves!

Suzanne said...

Both CO babies getting fed. That's adorable! Darn, BW parent just took fish from baby!

Costume Lady said...

Paula, how are you bringing up the 30 second cam...is it still the same as before? I havn't been able to bring it up since I go home last Tues.

paula eagleholic said...

Thanks, Steve!

Same way, Wanda. Others have problems bringing it up also, like Megan and Mits....Steve says they are investigating.

paula eagleholic said...

You can try this and see if it helps...

NCTC Eagle Cam

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Wanda, the last time I was able to bring up the still cam was 3/28. Don't have a clue what the problem is.

Costume Lady said...

Oh, look at the nice color at BWE. Was it that colorful before, or am I just noticing it?

Costume Lady said...

Thanks for letting me know that, Sharon. When I can't get something on here that others are, I always think it is something I am not doing right.

normabyrd said...

SUZANNE---HELP!---HELP!!--My computer is a mess---can't find the CO'S EAGLETS!!!----Where are they???--DESPERATE NORMA!!!

Bob Quinn said...

Just back from a meeting. The nest at the start of the photos is not the BWE cam nest. It is on the wildlife drive near the beginning about a hundred yards or less into the woods. I understand last year it was inactive but fledged two eagles the year before. Obviously active again this year.

normabyrd said...

I can't get anything thing either----I was off a couple of days!!---but I do what you do!!----BLAME ME first!--COMPUTER--second!!!--

Costume Lady said...

Thanks, PAULA, but it didn't work for me. Everything is worth trying.

normabyrd said...

THANKS STEVEN!!---ENJOYING THE "2" PICS WE SEE OF YOU!!---COOL!!

Costume Lady said...

Well, NORMA, I only work with a few sites on this computer, and don't experiment very much, so I am not well versed on anything except e-mail. LOL

Suzanne said...

Well darn, Bob, you need to find the eagle nest on cam. Parents are not the best providers! One eaglet was eating a while ago, parent took fish away from him, now eating it, and other chick is just sitting there so patiently waiting for a bite! Pig parent has not shared a bite once, that I saw on cam. Now parent has moved and I don't see one scrap of leftovers! hate that.

Suzanne said...

Norma, here ya go: CO eaglets.

http://birdcam.xcelenergy.com/eagle.html

Bob Quinn said...

Suzanne - I know exactly where the eagle cam nest is but it's not some place you can linger to take photos at (or leave fish). :-)

paula eagleholic said...

Norma - here is the CO cam, click on Bird cams for the live feed

SAFE JOURNEY HOME SUZANNE!!---GIVE LOVE PATS TO "LADY G" & HER FRIENDS!!!!

floralgirl said...

Thanks Steve- hanging in there- it has something to do with FWS sites, Wanda, there are several of us and probably many more we don't know of who are having problems. If it has FWS in the address I can't open it. This happened last year for a while also, I know they said there are lots of security issues when you are dealing with a gov. site.

normabyrd said...

DEB!!---That's where I have been looking---missing something!!---

Suzanne said...

Darn, Bob! How bout throwing them fish? Maybe they'll even think they're flying fish and go after them! I just want them to feed both babies! They were doing so well when the kids were little. One chick got a bite, then the other..they alternated each bite. Now the chicks are lucky if they get a meal a day, and not both of them will get a taste of that meal! Guess I just don't get it. If food is pleantiful, then the parents should be bringing more to the nest, and feeding both chicks. I know, nature can be cruel, but I just don't get why parents would feed one chick and totally ignore the other one.

paula eagleholic said...

Suz - they have been feeding both chicks. The eldest just gets fed first.

Suzanne said...

Thanks, Norma, I'll give pets to the kids.
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. I'm so excited the 30 sec cam is back!!! Just love it. Hope you guys get to access it soon too! Live feed is wonderful, I'm sure, but the 30 sec cam is wonderful also.
Outta here. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Suzanne said...

Paula, I watched this last feeding. The darkest chick did not get a bite! The light chick went over and finally started eating, then brought the fish up to her chest. Then parent took it, ate some of it, and never once gave the other chick a bite. I'm sure the chick may have gotten some between the refreshes, but if so, the chick never moved a bit during those refreshes. I've seen that one eat before, but someday I'd like to see them both eat again.

Question.....how much longer than it go without the BC eggs hatching?

Lolly said...

Make that "can" not "than". ha!

paula eagleholic said...

Both parents our nest!!! Lib brought food, Belle mantled it, and Lib left!!

paula eagleholic said...

And it's a beauty of a fish...

paula eagleholic said...

Feeding our nest...

Lolly, I think BC can only go another day or two

paula eagleholic said...

Anyone heard from Dana lately?

paula eagleholic said...

Lolly - BC has 3 eggs, so if the first egg doesn't hatch, there is still hope for eaglets in the nest.

paula eagleholic said...

Still eating our nest - don't think there will be much, if anything, left of that fish!
