I didn't have it up to view when you said that, but it was this guy with a fish when I brought it up. Still watching the deer in PA. Inching closer to the cam while eating.

Eagle back at BW, and sleepy head Tai finally got up and around. He's eating something, not bamboo. Oh, just dropped it, looks like paper, but I'm sure it's not.
Good Morning everyone. Its Cyber Monday...has something to do with all those folks who just had 4 days off coming to work now to shop online LOL.
Hope all had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We are all different and celebrate quite differently given our individual circumstances but I think we are all thankful to have found a BLOG that Steve updates for us regularly out of NCTC and this special pair f eagles who let us peak into their lives.
ROBYN---I know where MASSANUTTON is & have a couple friends who retired & moved to ELKTON---I just didn't realize there was a RESORT there---HARRISONBURG is close to where CAROL lives!!!---Friends here enjoy the Presbyterian retreat there!!!---It's a lovely town!!!
WOW!!----FORGOT---I saw a WHITE (ALBINO) DEER in the woods in VA on THANKSGIVING---Some light coloring on his head---Didn't stay still long enough to get every detail----AWESOME!!----There have been a couple of those in our county about 20 years ago!!!---LEGEND has it---"if you kill a ALBINO DEER---you will never kill another deer"
Morning, Mits! Your 2 pandas are trying to kill each other! But at least they take turns, one has the upper hand, then the other gets it, so I guess they share nicely even trying to kill each other. Too funny. Squiggles is watching something, and I just saw a shadow. Don't know if the shadow was a keeper, or Bai.
When I was ther last Wednesday, I mentioned it to both keepers on duty, they said if they were really fighting we would know it, it scared the cam operator so bad, she ran to get the keepers.
MORNIN' HELEN & JIM!!---Does anyone remember the name they voted for?---Seems like it was a few months ago!!!---Anxious to get a good look at little SQUIGGLES!!! SUZANNE--"Bet she will waive to you"!!!!---

JIM--I just posted that I saw one on THANKSGIVING DAY in VA---It was across the field in the woods---But he still stood out!!!!--ALBINO---some coloring on head!!---HE WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!
Just looked at cams again, Tai had something, looked like 3 balls in an orange holder you get in the store? Trying to take them up the tree, then he dropped them. Now he's got them in his mouth, and back up the tree he goes.
Ok, dropping must be part of the game, cause he dropped them again, then came down and picked them up, and now he's taken the balls and put them in the water. Sure is getting his exercise. Ok, they have been washed, so back up the tree we go...with the balls in his mouth. 10 seconds and he'll drop them again.
Oh, Mits, bet they will! Darn, too late to leave now and make it home at 2. Not gonna happen, but maybe I'll turn on CNN when I get home and get to see it!
Yeah, I read you guys talking about it, and I've tried several times to get the otters and the sloth bears. And the fishing leopard and can't get anything. But I've only been able to watch the pandas since my upgrade, so I'm sure not complaining one single bit!
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Watch the naming ceremony if ya can. Wish I could, but maybe it'll be on the news later. BW MT, one of the few times today. Tai is eating, others are sleeping. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Hi, eagle lovers. Back at the computer after 5 days off. Had a good time visiting family in the DC area, but am always SO glad to get back to the hills! ("Oh, those hills, those beautiful hill, how I love those West Virginia hills"..) Robyn and Norma - Near Harrisonburg, VA, which is 40 miles west of Franklin - there is Massanutten Resort - which has skiing, golf and water sports. Not far from there is Massanutta Springs Conference Center - which is a Presbyterian conference center. Norma - I have seen several "albino" deer over the years. Some have appeared to be all white and some have been light tan and white. I haven't read the blogs for Wed thru Sun - so I'll ask: Have any plans been made yet for the Christmas party?
HI CAROL, hope you had a nice Holiday. Did you see Gene wave. He said he did. Even took a picture of Seneca Rocks. We examined it closely and think we can see you waving.
Mits - I said that because he has been in trouble before...didn't hear he was in a coma though...did hear critical condition earlier. I understand there were other people in the house,,,,and he was shot twice in the groin area.
Anne just sent me a postcard & Squiggles is standing on all fours headed out of the den. I have to go get my classes on BUT I think that is what I am seeing! I cannot get on the site either, Paula. I am watching FOX news but have not seen anything yet......

Well, I pray he makes it, Channel 4 just talked to a detective and he has no description or leads to suspects, which is weird since this happened at 1:45 a.m.
That is what they kept saying this morning, they didn't have any suspects or descriptions. Something isn't right if there were several people in the house, somebody saw something.
The attack on Taylor came eight days after another invasion was reported at his home. According to police records, someone pried open a front window, rifled through his drawers and left a kitchen knife on a bed.
Investigators were still interviewing the girlfriend and other relatives who were in the home to try to determine what happened, Perez said. No arrests have been made.
"It could have been a possible burglary; it could have been a possible robbery," Perez said. "It has not been confirmed as yet."
Sharpstein, however, said Taylor's girlfriend told him the couple was awakened at night by loud noises in the home and that Taylor had grabbed a machete he keeps in the bedroom for protection. Someone then broke through the bedroom door and fired two shots, one of which missed and one that hit Taylor, the attorney said.
"It was clearly a burglary, an armed burglary," Sharpstein said, adding that nothing appeared to have been stolen.
I would have thought the guy would have an alarm system, if not before the last intrusion 8 days ago, then immediately afterwards.
He lived in a gated community with his own gate, I would think he would have had an alarm system too but maybe not. News just said there may have been another attempted entry over the weekend. The nanny told the neighbors that somebody tried to get in Saturday.
Good evening everyone. My plans for this weekend have dramatically changed. I had intended on doing nothing but instead, on Friday, after work, I will be traveling to Wheeling, WV to see the Bluefield Beavers in the state championship game. Immediately following the game, I will be traveling to Cumberland, MD, getting a little bit of sleep, getting up and driving the rest of the way to Manassas, VA to see Andrew march with the Concord University Marching Band in the Christmas parade. I may be getting just a little too old for all of this but I am going to give it my best shot!
DEB,my hubby and I drove through South Dakota a number of years ago. Of course, we stopped to see the "Rushmore Fellas" (which made me gasp; I didn't think it would be so impressive). It is an absolutly beautiful state. We would love to travel there again and spend more time. I thought the Badlands were a lot prettier than pictures show.
Yeah Sharon, Manassas is only about 1 hour from the nest and you can get on 81 and head south as soon as you are done. Or you could just come here instead of Cumberland and watch the WVU game with us.
This is going to be a really rushed trip to Wheeling and rushed to Manassas. Andrew has to be in Manassas at either 8 or 9 Saturday morning and we won't be leaving Wheeling until about 10:30. But I am so grateful that I am going to get to see him in that parade. Now if he had his druthers, he would be in Morgantown Saturday for the WVU game.
Your too old Sharon...? Now you stop thinking like that!I swore when I got old I was going to buy a red convertible and drive my kids nuts and I have a good start on it now. Serve them right. They drove me nuts..:)
Sharon, you will need to rest after the parade. Best place to do that is right here in the eastern panhandle. No sense in over tiring yourself this weekend. LOL
It was nice to chat a bit with DEB from South Dakota. Maybe we can get her to tell us about the birds in her area. Hope she comes back tomorrow. I LOVE THIS BLOG! You will never be lonely or bored as long as you have this to turn to.
Yes, Jo....we need to keep Sunny and her Mother in our thoughts and prayers. I know they are going through tough times and if Sunny needs to talk to someone, there are about 30 of us who would love to hear from her.
Good morning, world. Good morning night owls. Had to look first thing to see our Squiggles new name! PRECIOUS!!! Zhen Zhen! I voted for that like a gazillion times, I'm so happy!!! That was my first choice, but I had a second too, but soo soo glad she's Precious. She sure lives up to that name, little precious baby! I'm thrilled. Looked all over the news last night, and nobody but nobody had it on the news, how disappointing! But... now I know, so I'm happy. Ok, nice night out, can see the moon and stars in places, some places have fog on the road, can't see 5' in front of you, but you can look up and see the starts. Kinda neat. Not too cold, 51° in PA, 58° here, if you can believe that! Our little Squiggles Precious is sleeping snuggling right next to mom, and Tai just had a big panda stretch, and went right back to sleep. Therewas just a racoon on the PA cam, and nothing on the Africam. Ok, all have a great eagle/panda day, and congratulations on your new name, Precious! Lovely! Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Well, Bai just walked out, guess for a potty break, and left our Precious sleeping all alone. For less than 60 seconds, cause mom is now back, and snuggling with our Precious. Ok, mom is sorta on her timmy with butt in the air, and has Precious up by her head. Not sure the little one even moved when Bai came back in the den. Too cute.
Glancing back at yesterday's blogs, see we have a new blogger, DEB! Welcome, Deb, and thanks for breaking the news on the blog about Precious' new name. Haven't read everything, just glancing, but we're glad you joined us!

I didn't have it up to view when you said that, but it was this guy with a fish when I brought it up. Still watching the deer in PA. Inching closer to the cam while eating.

GOOD MONDAY MORNING AFTER THE LONG HOLIDAY WEEKEND EVERYONE Just remember California is 3 hours behind us, so, it will be 2 o'clock our time when we hear the new name.
Mei and Tian are now up the tree wrestling, and Squiggles is on her way outta the den to find mom!
Pandas up the tree, playing
Morning, Mits! Your 2 pandas are trying to kill each other! But at least they take turns, one has the upper hand, then the other gets it, so I guess they share nicely even trying to kill each other. Too funny.
Squiggles is watching something, and I just saw a shadow. Don't know if the shadow was a keeper, or Bai.
now they are down, several keepers have assured me that this is play, but it still makes me nervous
When I was ther last Wednesday, I mentioned it to both keepers on duty, they said if they were really fighting we would know it, it scared the cam operator so bad, she ran to get the keepers.
GOOD MORNING, SUZ AND EVERYONE!!
JIM
MORNIN' HELEN & JIM!!---Does anyone remember the name they voted for?---Seems like it was a few months ago!!!---Anxious to get a good look at little SQUIGGLES!!!
SUZANNE--"Bet she will waive to you"!!!!---
Morning, Jim.
Mits, they just play hard, I guess. But they do take turns on who has the upper paw, so to speak.
Must have been a keeper outside Squiggles' door, cause door is now closed, and the little one is asleep.
Tai is chowing down on bamboo.
Those 2 eagles in BW have been there almost all morning!
2 HANDSOME EAGLES--BW!
Forgot, there is an eagle on cam 1 in Kent.
Door opened in SD, but Squiggles didn't move.
I voted for the "Bright ....", Norma, but I did it on the basis of the English meaning. Trouble is, I think we skip that step when we use the name.
I probably won't be very happy with any of them if I think of the English, but I will probably get used to any of them in Chinese.
Jim
MORNIN' GLO---SORRY, I missed you-----That's OK SUZ---I just spotted them!!---Busy a.m. here------JIM have you ever seen a WHITE (ALBINO) DEER?----
I think the one I voted for meant----LITTLE BEAUTY!!--Sea-ou-lee!!--SEE YOU ALL LATER---must get dressed!!!!----
SAFE JOURNEY HOME SUZANNE---LOVE TO GYPSY & FRIENDS!!
Yes, Norma, Cindi has sent some pictures from her brother's place in No Michigan.
Why, Norma, do you have one?
Jim
BUTA BUTA!!---Doing what she loves best----SLEEPING!---IN HAMMOCK!!---BAMBOO all around!!
JIM--I just posted that I saw one on THANKSGIVING DAY in VA---It was across the field in the woods---But he still stood out!!!!--ALBINO---some coloring on head!!---HE WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!
Bet that was awesome, Norma.
Is that Buta Buta? Man, she sure has grown!!! Haven't seen her for a couple weeks, so thanks for the heads up.
Darn, eagle gone in Kent.
Morning all.
Zooming in and out at Maine!
Paula, is the cam zooming in and out at Maine, or are the eagles zooming in and out???
Sorry, Mits, it was just the cam.
that's good, guess they are getting ready for the upcoming season:)
Welcome back Robyn, Suz and Karla!
eagles sound up in Maine....Buta and Mom snuggling in the hammock.
Su Lin on the SD cam, and the loons are calling up in Maine also, such a lonesome sound
otters just went for a swim, now rolling in the dirt, typical boys:)
Just looked at cams again, Tai had something, looked like 3 balls in an orange holder you get in the store? Trying to take them up the tree, then he dropped them. Now he's got them in his mouth, and back up the tree he goes.
Oops, dropped them again, and down he goes. And back up he goes!
Thanks, Paula, wish I could say it's great to be back, but you know how that goes. He's got them!
Oops. There they go again, and there he goes right after. And back up. This is hilarious!
Darn, and down again. Mits, what is he having such a good time with?
Ok, dropping must be part of the game, cause he dropped them again, then came down and picked them up, and now he's taken the balls and put them in the water. Sure is getting his exercise.
Ok, they have been washed, so back up the tree we go...with the balls in his mouth. 10 seconds and he'll drop them again.
what a goof ball he is....its an enrichment toy.
He sure is having a good time with that thing! Oops, dropped it before he even got back up. And off he goes again....
Too funnym Mits!
Oop, potty break. And now off exploring, he is hilarious!
typical kid, bored with them now,
in the water:)
TIME TO NAME OUR BABY SQUIGGLES...
Not for another 3 hours, Wanda, it is only 8 o'clock there in San Diego
He is funny! Guess he's gonna walk every inch of this enclosure. Sure has a lot of energy this morning!
Yeah, darn, Wanda, I won't get to hear what they chose, I'll be driving home about the time of her ceremony. Ya'll take pics!!!
Eagle back and hanging out in BW.
yeah, he is quite active this a.m.
Oh, Su Lin still on SD cam. Bet they're getting the little one ready for her ceremony this afternoon!
That's cause he slept late this morning, Mits! Didn't want to get up, lazy butt!
I'm wondering if the networks will be televising it.
You got that right, he can sleep like his Momma.
Oh, Mits, bet they will! Darn, too late to leave now and make it home at 2. Not gonna happen, but maybe I'll turn on CNN when I get home and get to see it!
gonna take a bamboo break, Suzanne do you look at the other cams at the bottom?
Can't get any of them, Mits. Only cams I can watch at NZ are the pandas. I've tried the others, but they won't load at all. Wish I could.
bummer, there is so much going on at the others most of the time.
wish I could go to the CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE AT BLACKWATER THIS SATURDAY.
Yeah, I read you guys talking about it, and I've tried several times to get the otters and the sloth bears. And the fishing leopard and can't get anything. But I've only been able to watch the pandas since my upgrade, so I'm sure not complaining one single bit!
Good Monday Morning Everyone! Glad to see all of you have returned from your turkey bird holiday!
Morning, Jo! Glad you had such a wonderful Thanksgiving! And congratulations!!!
Tai is sacked out now, on his back on the rocks. We had a very busy play time this morning, so now it's definately panda nap time!
George is on the tree, cam 2, kent!
Well, he was. Wonder if he came up his back door...the hole in the nest.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, Suzanne. Thanks for your early morning coverage. Have a safe trip back home.
Jim
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Watch the naming ceremony if ya can. Wish I could, but maybe it'll be on the news later. BW MT, one of the few times today. Tai is eating, others are sleeping.
Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Thanks, Jim, Thanksgiving was very nice, thanks for asking.
I'll be careful going home. Holiday is over now, so traffic won't be so bad... I hope!
I have no clue where to look for this naming ceremony On this cam or on the TV - maybe CNN???
I would try CNN, didn't read anything about it being on-line.
looking on SD tv stations also, nothing so far.
Ceremony is not on the cam...
Only thing that would be on the cam is the announcement after the fact!
Looking foggy at our nest
yeah they would not do the ceremony on their site, but sure they will put it up as soon as they can.
and if it is anything like Tai's 100 day celebration, she won't even be in sight
I've been switching back and forth from CNN to MSNBC to Fox and havn't heard anything yet about our Baby. I guess they aren't as interested as we are.
HI CAROL, hope you had a nice Holiday.
Did you see Gene wave. He said he did. Even took a picture of Seneca Rocks. We examined it closely and think we can see you waving.
Havn't heard of any plans yet. Will let you know.
Wanda - I didn't see Gene wave - but I still knew that he waved! Did he get a deer?
well Squiggles is back on the cam again:)
No deer, Carol :(. Maybe during Doe Season.
Zhen Zhen is the name of the cub, meaning precious.
cool, thanks, that's the name I voted for:)
Well - SD Baby back on the cam...still don't know the name
Great, their site just went down for me
and there she goes, little Zhen
and she is off and crawling, mine keeps going down also, Paula
Thanks, N8 - I was just trying to get back into their site to find the results!
I voted for Precious also!
It is pronouncec jun jun
she just crawled out to find her momma, and momma ignored her.
They must be getting bombarded with people trying to find out her name.
just went down again.
YAY That is the name I voted for also. Precious, and she is that.
Paula, what do you think about Sean Taylor being shot....little Danny Snyder is on his way to be by his bedside.
SD is still down for me
Mits - Wondering what Sean did???
Santa Cruz/Pelican Harbor nest now back online! After like a Month!!
Paula, he got shot at his home in Miami and is in a coma, they think it was a burglary gone bad.
Except they aren't looking for any suspects. Only talking to the people within the house and the neighbors. HUMMMMM
well I can't get onto SD cam.
Mits - I said that because he has been in trouble before...didn't hear he was in a coma though...did hear critical condition earlier. I understand there were other people in the house,,,,and he was shot twice in the groin area.
Can't get any SD cams.
I can get the SD cam but can't switch pages on the site. Nothing on cam right now.
Well, I hope it was a burglary and not someone he knew, he underwent 6 hours of surgery, hit and artery in his leg, so sad.
I give up trying to get on SD cams
I can't get anywhere on SD site...
giving up for now.
Eagle at CC
Paula, I see Squiggles asleep in the hallway again. She looks like she is hiding (maybe she doesn't like her name).lol
Anne just sent me a postcard & Squiggles is standing on all fours headed out of the den. I have to go get my classes on BUT I think that is what I am seeing!
I cannot get on the site either, Paula. I am watching FOX news but have not seen anything yet......
n8rlvrsd--How did you hear of Precious's being named?
That was my choice also and Suz's too.
Different angle now, but Precious is still asleep.
I can't find anything about the name either. I can get the camera but no new blog or news on the other pages.
Wanda-Did you see Dana or Nilla this morning? I need to check the game time for this weekend.
No, Jill. Neither one was on. They are both MIA.

Maybe Norma will know. Normaaaaaa!!!!????
Forgot to add that from the top of that last post
Zhen Zhen
("Precious")
THANKS PAULA FOR THE INFO.
SOOO HAPPY ABOUT THE NAME, AREN'T WE?
That picture just says it all: Precious!
just got back on SD and they are showing the proud papa. Gao-Gao.
I see Su Lin, Mits.
I didn't think I saw them but I only had time to skim through. I think the game time is up in the air because of which network may cover it. I will ask Joey when he comes home.
Thanks,Paula for the update.Squiggles picture now has her official name under it!
Wanda-Best I can tell it is 7:30 or 7:45 or 8:00 pm. On either ESPN or ESPN2. Guess that narrows it down a bit. If we can't find out by Wednesday I will call Nate's mom, she will know.
my SD cam still says C2 which is Gao-Gao
Ok, Jill...thanks.
ESPN at 7:45. Or at least that is what ESPN says. WVU says 8 and Pitt says 7:30.
Mits - Mine has c4, she is crawling all over the yard, todays date and the wrong time as always = 2 hours behind at 14:31, not 3 hours like it should be
Paula, I don't think they set the camera clocks back an hour.
mine just said C6 SU LIN up a tree, and it is now back on C2,,,,yeah wish these west coast people would learn how to turn their clocks back.
Mits-Taylors condition has worsened according to NBC25. Guess DC news is carrying it too. Haven't change the channel yet.
EAGLE ALERT - OUR NEST!
Man o Mighty, Belle looked huge.
AND GONE ALREADY!
Back on Su Lin - all you see is her head!
We want Precious, we want Precious!!
He lived in a gated community with his own gate, I would think he would have had an alarm system too but maybe not. News just said there may have been another attempted entry over the weekend. The nanny told the neighbors that somebody tried to get in Saturday.
There's 0ur little Zhen Zhen now.
I think I would have hired armed guards if there was another attempt over the weekend.
I think I would have had more than a machete at my bedside.
I found it on the San Diego newspaper site.

THANKS A BUNCH, DEB!
We need to hear from you more often. You can fill in between the lines for us.
I am not on too often, but like to read about what you are all doing out east.
Are you in San Diego?
No, I am in South Dakota, in the very southeastern corner near the Missouri River.
Wanda-talked to Nilla she is working this weekend.
I'll be watching the WV game with Ed.
SHARON...When you are in Manassas, you aren't very far from Shepherdstown. Belle & Lib would love to see you! LOL
Oh Shaorn I am glad you have some exciting plans coming up for the weekend. Good for you. Enjoy.
Yeah Sharon, Manassas is only about 1 hour from the nest and you can get on 81 and head south as soon as you are done. Or you could just come here instead of Cumberland and watch the WVU game with us.
Sharon - there is no way you are too old for that trip!
Welcome Deb from South Dakota!
Okay, so maybe I am not too old, only 45.
No your 35.... You just cant count..:)
Okay, I will take 35!
See how easy your are to get along with. I have been looking at cruises up the Amazon. Wanta come along?
The story on the naming of the cub today is now posted on the SD Blog site.
Sharon, you will need to rest after the parade. Best place to do that is right here in the eastern panhandle. No sense in over tiring yourself this weekend. LOL
Jo, the racoons are back in PA
little bandit eyes glowing.
GOOD NIGHT ALL
Evening, everyone...
It's about dawn at both African sites, so things could start happening. Otherwise I don't see a lot on the cams right now.
Zhen Zhen, eh?? ... pronounced with a short "U" sound. Not too bad, and who can argue with 36% of the international votes.
Jim
It was nice to chat a bit with DEB from South Dakota. Maybe we can get her to tell us about the birds in her area. Hope she comes back tomorrow. I LOVE THIS BLOG! You will never be lonely or bored as long as you have this to turn to.
Yes, Jo....we need to keep Sunny and her Mother in our thoughts and prayers. I know they are going through tough times and if Sunny needs to talk to someone, there are about 30 of us who would love to hear from her.
GOOD NIGHT TO EVERYONE..SLEEP TIGHT.
Good Night Everyone
I was being a real bum all day long!
But I was driving the train at my speed!
Peace to You & Yours
Prayers being said for all our needs
Good Morning Early Birds!
Good night, everyone!
GOOD NIGHT TO YOU ALL/GOOD EARLY MORNING TO SUZANNE AND THE EARLY BIRDERS....
JIM
