MORNIN' JIM!!--BEAUTIFUL--CRISP AUTUMN DAY IN WV----I just watched SQUIGGLES scoot or crawl down & completely turn around when left alone by BAI!---She's a MOVIN' too!!---the little "LOVE BUG"!!
Thanks for the info on the cam, Steve. Better to know something then nothing at all & sit here hitting the refresh key just in case! Good day for being outside - Hi Norma, Jim and Paula. Headed to lunch!! BBL
GOOD SATURDAY AFTERNOON WANDA, MITS, ROYBN,JO< GLO, NORMA, JIM AND PAULA. I bet you all that I left town. Sounds like you have had a lot of sightings of Liberty and Bell. I just finished reading all my missed blogs.
Robyn, glad to hear that Tori made out ok on her tests and that her present math class is stepping up a notch. She will be much happier staying with the kids she started with and A's you can't beat that.
NORMA Sorry to hear about your eeeeeeeeeeerrss! Yesterday our PE teacher was all decked out in all her WV clothes and jewelry. I was hoping they would win too. At least So. Fla didn't blow them out like they did us last weekend. We are right now starting to play and VTech and will probably lose this one also. I still put up my flag and wear my Carolina shirt. I still have hope.
Sorry to hear about the loss at Brisbane. It just goes along with the rest of the year. I haven't seen the chicks yet today.
NORMA Did watch Squiggles when Bai left. She is getting to be the little mover and shaker. It won't be long before she will craw right out that door when Bai leaves.
I was interested in reading about your Monarch butterflies. We have a lady down here that visits our classroom every year and brings along her Monarchs, just before she releases them. She has a butterfly garden and each year collects the butterflies and tags them and keeps a log on them.
Each spring, around April, each of our Kindergartens receives a package of Painted Lady caterpillars with food in the mail. We watch them eat the green food and attach themselves to the top of the cup they are in and then tape the lid to the inside of a huge butterfly screened cylener shaped holding area. We all patiently await the emerging of the butterflies, give them sugar water, and then when all are hatched, we release them as a class. It is very interesting and the children even learn about metamorphisis.
JIM I hope you are getting all your medical papers set up. I think they like to make it difficult for one to be able to understand what is going on. That was they may be able to make an extra buck if one chooses the wrong plan. Hang in there.
Well, game is on and VTech already scored a touchdown, so it looks like a looooong day for the Tar Heels. :( I still have 91 emails to get to yet, so guess BBL. You all have a good day. Bah Humbug to the people on Colorado who have monkied up our eagle nest for the weekend.
Did anyone see the beautiful African Fish Eagle on the Pete's Pond site earlier today? It was perched on a funky needle-eye looking snag and preening itself.
The white head and tail extend farther onto their bodies, but they look similar to our Bald Eagle...think they're closely related too.
I guess I had better go watch the game and see if I can spur the Tar Heels on. We almost had a touchdown, but Va Tech caught our pass in the end zone. Just our luck. BBL
Hey Megan Followed your link for the Monarchs. I also read some of the blog info a few days ago. Is there a chance that when I come to NCTC Open house in like 3 weeks :) That I could buy some Milkweed from you. That will give me something to have here that came from WV and from one of my Momster friends , and help me to attract some Butterfiles too. Please think about that. Thanks.
Very Very quiet evening when Denver is in control! All pandas present & accounted for - Squiggles is in the center of her bed and looks comfy. The eyasses have been fed -both parents were there for a short time. At least you could see some of Frodo's head along with Frieda and the chicks were visible & being fed. Kent eagles are back at the nest as reported on their forum by Loraine We will need to be checking that nest's 3 cams. It's dark at Seneca Rock!!
JO----No EAGLES at KENT!!--Need to check out SQUIGGLES----I saw her this afternoon---That "LOVE BUG" is MOVIN'---big time!!----Won't be long & I can't wait---
NORMABYRDI saw on the other thread that you were asking about "the Mount". It is Mt.St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. They were celebrating 125 years of baseball today, also they are celebrating their bicentennial..Hubby graduated in '69, and he was a pitcher on the baseball team. Our Son, Kevin is a '99 graduate and our d-i-l Annie is a '00 graduate boiling water yet:).
Need to ask Paula about the TH cam critter she saw! And we think Spidey is to be feared!...lol
WE cam was beautiful all day - the photos are clear as a bell. Looks like around 5:00 it starts getting snowy looking.. I have no clue except moisture on the cam as to what we see now.
If you click on community news and scroll down towards the bottom, Audoubon News, there's a really neat night trip you can go on to South Mountain with a man who catches and bands owls. You and 19 other people get to watch, sounds cool.
Yeah, Jo it was smeared.....still waiting,Megan, but it might turn out better for her than last time, she can go in get induced, get her wonder drugs when she is 4cm, and hopefully everything will be ok, God willing.
I'm surprised to see Squiggles sleeping in the den tonight... she's getting to be a little butter bear-el.
If somebody knows how to contact SD zoo by e-mail, you might tell them they don't have the latest exam posted correctly, and the video that's supposed to be from this week is actually 2-3 weeks old.
And gone again. Well I guess you all stayed up soooo late last night that you are sleeping in. I have to check my email and get ready for mass. Maybe the Kent nests will be visible then, as I see from the blog that eagles were sighted there now. You all have a good day. It should be a Beautiful one for all to enjoy.
GOOD MORNING WANDA! I just checked back to see if anyone was uup yet, so I'll say hello to you and TTUL as I have to get ready for mass. Time to get your morning coffee.
MEGAN--Thanks for the heads up on the Monarch Butterfly and Milkweed. I have not had the time to research the subject, but I did go to the link that you brought up. The metamorphis of the butterfly is one of the most wonderful things in nature that we can witness. I see that it has peaked the interest of some of our members. Maybe next year we can dwell more into this interesting aspect of nature. Maybe there is a site out there that shows the life cycle of the Butterfly that we can follow along with and enjoy from begining to end, just as we do with the birds, etc,

I see you Gals got quite some storms up there. You might want to send a few clouds back at JIM. He seems desperate.

Shepherdstown Observer But I don't see the article Sandra mentioned, unless this isn't the October issue, if not, maybe it'll be up tomorrow.
If you click on community news and scroll down towards the bottom, Audoubon News, there's a really neat night trip you can go on to South Mountain with a man who catches and bands owls. You and 19 other people get to watch, sounds cool.
Jo, It's a miracle.....I swear I saw gunk on it.....HELLO, MEGAN!
Megan - October issue of The Observer: NCTC First Decade, by Steve Chase.
Howdy Mits:) Still patiently waiting, I see. Guess that's all you can do..
OWLS Did someone say OWLS.
That is so local! Wouldn't that be really something to see! Want to sign up?
MITS - I really saw the gunk also when I first had it up. It was very very gunky!
I see that it says Oct. 2007 on that page, I just don't see that article anywhere.
Yeah, Jo it was smeared.....still waiting,Megan, but it might turn out better for her than last time, she can go in get induced, get her wonder drugs when she is 4cm, and hopefully everything will be ok, God willing.
Got my fingers crossed, Mits. Jo, doesn't that sound cool? Trip starts at 8:30 pm until 10, says there's some uneven ground and lot of walking.
awwww, look at Squiggles
Well, I have Norma's cane lol
That may present a problem for me though. I would love to be a part of it. You can go and be my eyes!

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE--
REST WELL so you can enjoy tomorrow: it's going to be beautiful.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES. i just took a chance and got up to find an eagle at BW.
Good thing I got up when I did as he just left the nest. :(
Of course our cam is still down thanks to Denver. :(
The chicks in Brisbane are sliiping under thier parent's chin; at least one is. Other might be undernesth.
That is chicks are sleeping. Alligators are sunning themselves in Africa just waiting for a tastey bite to come to the water hole.
Eagle just arrived at BW again
And gone again. Well I guess you all stayed up soooo late last night that you are sleeping in. I have to check my email and get ready for mass. Maybe the Kent nests will be visible then, as I see from the blog that eagles were sighted there now. You all have a good day. It should be a Beautiful one for all to enjoy.
