Back in paradise.
Went to Cohen's football game. They have combined the 2 teams in his area, so he didn't get to play as much, but he still enjoyed it. They won today, so now they are 2-2.

Got the Eburg house all vacuumed, sheets washed, beds made, stuff picked up and put away. It got the Lolly treatment, best as I could do it this afternoon, LOL.

Nick wanted to go for a midnight stroll along the water,,,,but I know him better than that! He would be in the water in a heartbeat. We will walk the beach tomorrow night when I get home from work.

Dry here too. We had a heck of a storm on Thursday evening but it was not too much help. The pond where we walk the dogs is over a foot down! Grass brown in many places.
Wow in three days we have just not gotten 200 plus 14 or so. So happy most of us ere outside in this beautiful weather!
Lolly, Izzabelle and Bosco - when they leave and go to a happier place
it will be hard on the boys and Laurel and Joey. It will bond them all even closer.

Rus used to work there and frequented the CVS where a person has been shot.
Rus is now working elsewhere.
Ground stop at Reagan Airport.

They are now saying 12 shot and that there are two shooters. Interesting.
That makes sense, Margy. It isn't over until the shooter or shooters are shot or under control.
CNN says "Two shooters are down." If there were two shooters, that changes things quite a bit.
Lots of action going on.
They have a lot of buildings to clear, Shirley...I guess three bldgs at least...
this is one type of incident
that requires extensive pre-planning

Prayers for Christie's Shannon - Kidney stone and not passable - too large. Will be a lithotripsy on Wednesday. Yesterday he wasn't in any pain at that time. I am praying for the procedure to be successful.
This is funny. Jack was talking to good friend on the phone. Remarked that we had seen (on fb) that they are expecting another grandchild. Russ started talking about his daughter. Jack was talking about his son and his wife. LOL So we have learned about his daughter, Too funny! The policeman in the phonto with the boys in Austin is his son. This will be their 3rd child. Sharon, his daughter, will be having her first. So much fun!
Thanks for all the reports on the DC shooting - I'm going to have to turn on the TV to find out more - never see TV anymore. It sounds like a horrific day there. Was wondering why my ex-husband (first one, David) emailed me with the subject shooting and asking how I was. Guess he doesn't know the latest. He finally remarried not long after I married Perry. Still, each of us was single for 12 years in between. Certainly didn't rush in to anything.
So much for an ace job on the test. I got an 86. My average now is a solid "B." Considering how difficult the program is, and how many have already dropped out, I guess I should be happy with that. They told us on the first day, if you got straight A's in high school, it's not going to happen here. Guess they're right. Maybe it wouldn't bother me so much if I wasn't putting everything I have into it. Thanks to all of you for your support. It does mean a lot to me. Sorry for complaining.
I'm off to do something meaningful and look up the details of today's shooting. Prayers for the families of the victims and those injured.

we have a new kitten at work. Of our clients who raises and trains hunting pointers and setters brought a dog in this morning. When she came inside, she said that the dog actually pointed "game" in the yard! Turns out it was this little black kitten who then proceeded to climb up one of the trees, and then couldn't get down. So Dr. B got out the ladder (in the rain) and climbed up to get her!
FYI....cats often get stuck in trees because their claws are not curved in a manner to descend, only to ascend. They become frightened trying to come back down and often either stay put, or jump!

regarding today's events: light and love to all involved....such a tragedy yet again..
and the miss america bologna! i am upset by people berating this lovely young woman. to all those who berate her i would love to say unless you are a native american, your ancestors are from another country, get a grip!!!!

Home from another great day at work!
Took Nick for a long walk, then worked on weeding my outside small patio area. Got it almost done before dark. Clouds finally were clearing off when I got home, had a nice sunset. It was mostly cloudy and windy here today...couples of sprinkles.

Test today is on Asepsis and Infection Control -- one of those subjective, critical thinking tests that I don't like. It's much harder than a knowledge based test.
Cutest thing! My Aunt brought over a tiny black kitten over the weekend. I made a bed for it behind the big A/C compressor by the back door. This morning I walked out and the Orange Mama with her two orange kittens were in the bed with the tiny black kitten smack in the middle of the pile, sucking away. Gosh, it was cute.
Okay, got another chapter to study before school, so I'm off.

My heart aches over the Navy Yard shooting incident---way too many such stories these days---surely the collective "we" must wake up and do something about this disturbing trend. I have no solution, but hope, somehow, there is a breakthrough in the mental health field that help address the needs of so many very sick people.

Good morning! If we got as much rain as Colorado there would be plenty of flooding but not the damage they have had, Not many rivers and no canyons!!! Homes also not built beside rivers. Lakes are 20 ft below level. People are having to mow where there used to be water, Docks have lawn below them. We have 20% chance of an isolated storm but it goes up to 50% Friday. I will believe rain when I see it. It has been 2 full months now without a drop. What is really sad is the trees that are dying.

where we could ride bikes and do rollerskating IN the house...

And then there were the endless sidewalks and parking lots out there too....things were quite safe back in those days

Am sitting in my bed winding down from a very busy day. I was not at home very much. Hunter's football game went very well. They won. Not sure, but I think the score was 22-12 or something thereabouts.
Bowling went well. Our team won. I still have to improve accuracy, though. I get very frustrated sometimes.

My Marvin was not feeling well through the night - slept well and most of today also. Around 1:15pm he got up, ate, used the litter box and back he went to sleep. I know he isn't feeling too well but hoping it is just like a bug.
Hunter did get to play center. He also played on the defensive team, so he was in for most of the game.
I found NO TV this evening - Like Judy I am ready for Terrific Tuesday to return!
Hope Marvin is okay, Jo. Cats do like to sleep.
Used to ride my bike all over our town, That is what was so great about small towns, years and years ago. Rode it to school too and it did not have to be locked. Car horn called us home. One long and two short meant the Hendrick kids better get home! :)
Going to say good night. All the running around has me plumb wore out. Will check back a bit...I remember that you all were saying something about Andy not feeling well.
Had fun posting Annie's picture on fb, After it posted I got texts from Joseph, He sent pictures of Luke, Isabelle and PC, saying they wanted ice cream, too, So funny!

Annie does know when we are eating ice cream and she comes, sits by me and stares. I know this sounds unsanitary, but I let her lick the dish. It gets sterilized!! Have to give her something...she is just too cute! Especially when she reaches out with her paw.

I'm feeling fine. The hot, humid weather was wearing me down, but today was much better. The high was 82, and the low this morning was a glorious 60 degrees!
Have been really busy today trying to get more of the housework done.
Made some progress.
The shootings in the Navy Yard are such a tragedy! Shirley, I'm glad that Rus is OK! This is certainly an uncertain world we live in! Prayers for that whole situation!

Good Morning Eagle family!
Yesterday's test was a disaster---class average was 61%....I got a 71%, just one point from passing with a C. So more than half the class failed, still doesn't make me feel better. It was one of those weird subjective thinking tests and the hardest one we've had to date. BOOOO-HISSSSSSS!
Today I find out what skills I have to demonstrate for the instructions tomorrow on Skills Day. It will also be the first day we wear our uniforms. They're kind of checking us out before we go into the hospitals for clinicals...and today we get our clinical assignments. I sure hope Cynthia and I get somewhere close.
SHIRLEY, how was your bowling? I'm anxious to see if your mental and physical practicing was of benefit to you. I'm sure you did well. Go CYCLONE!

Well, I guess I should get off here and go study for today's test. It's the Integumentary (skin) System. Did you know that each of us has about 20 pounds of skin on our bodies, and we shed 500 million dead skin cells a day! Good thing it regenerates quickly.
