Spring has Sprung 4/24

After a wet weekend, our eaglets seem no worse for the wear (and wet). Their coloration continues to rapidly change as their new, darker feathers grow in.

more later.

It is unreal to me how much they have grown and changed. I love watching their daily progress. Thanks again for this opportunity to see mother nature it her finest!!

Yes, they ate around 2:30 pm. Nice to see the leaves coming in and giving them a little shade, while they are taking their afternoon snooze....

There was some humor at the feeding: the adult gave the oldest food - & the smallest 'Spunky' jumped up & took it from his beak! The adult took it from Spunky and gave it back to the oldest as if to say 'I'm in charge here!' If they all get their wings flapping at the same time in the nest - there isn't going to be much room!

Did anybody save pictures from the web cam when they were first born? They have grown so much in such a short period of time. It is really unbelievable. Nancy, they ate twice this morning too. It is so awesome to see the mommy or daddy fly up with a fish stuck in its talon at feeding time. And I have never seen such skill at poop-shooting off the side of the nest. Have you all ever seen the spider that spins webs at night around the camera lens? He is a pretty wicked looking something but I am sure he is not as big as he looks on that lens.

Sharon, Go back to 3/30 pic and you really can see the growth!

Jo, I had been saving pictures. I have 99 I think saved. I was just wondering if everybody else was too. Don't save as many now since watching the live cam. Need to get back into doing that. They are eating for the second time this morning. Hungry little fellers.

Looks like there is plenty of fish there even after the 2 feedings from this morning. I have been saving pics too, although not as much since the live feed went up, think I'm up to around 300+...

LOL I've got lots of pictures saved too. LOL You'd think they were our babies. Incidentlaly I live near a place where last year I was able to see more eagles than I could actually count at one time. I have a couple of videos of them on my BLOG. Of course I couldn't get up close to any nesting ones like this though. This is kind of like sitting right beside them on the limb. So neat!!!!

Sharon or anyone interested actually, If you go to my bLOG and click on March archives, you will find a couple of pictures with many eagles sitting in one tree, and 2 videos, one is called He went Right in front of me, and the other something like Eagles Sights and Sounds.

Glo, I would love to see just one eagle. I don't know what I would do if I would see that many eagles at one time. That is wonderful. I catch myself looking up whenever I go out now, just to see if I could spot one. Might be just a little obsessed with it. I live in Southern West Virginia. I would love to go to Sheperdstown just to see if I could spot ours. It makes me proud these babies are in my home state.
